Guest Reviews

- Ingo (10/5): third time enjoyed this cosy apartment 😃 - I have been now third time in this cosy apartment and will definitely return - location is perfect in the heart of classic Shanghai and still walking distance from Metro 😃👍 - the beds are comfortable, all clean and neat 👌 all fine 👍
- Ingo (9/5): The place to experience to experience real classic Shanghai - A real authentic experience with modern style interior. Excellent location :-) nothing to mention
- Caleb (4/5): Host lied about location and quality. Home we stayed in was not the home in the photos - The home had a full size kitchen, washing machine, and a back patio The home was not the home from the photos. It was about .5km away in a slightly worse location. We were given the new address once we were already in transit and when we arrived it was too late to arrange other accommodation. The home has to be accessed through a back alley and then literally walking through someone’s kitchen to get the entry door. It was a similar style to the unit from the photos, with a loft, but it was certainly not as nice as the unit in the photos.
- Ying (10/5): super - Cute apartment in a very good location with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants outside. The apartment itself has everything you need for a longer stay and has been renovated thoroughly. Overall a great deal!

- Marcel Bryan (1/5): Not what we were expecting. - At first the appartement was nice and then it started raining. The ceiling started leaking our bed was completly wet, the little office area was flooded an in the bathroom eveything was wet. The host didn't answer our messages on booking for 1.5 hours and we had neighbour calling her so that something could happen. (reading previous reviews we also found out that this wasn't the first time). We got moved to another appartement for the las 3 of our 4 nights and we were fine with that. With one night left we received a message that they want to move us again since the appartement we were staying was rented out for our last night. This was at 10/11 am and they wanted us out at 1pm. We were not even in the appartement at that momentan and had to order a taxi. They offered a compensation for that (100RMB) but we decided to book a hotel instead. We had only 4 days in Shanghai and the rain with the leaking ruined one evening for us but moving us second time was unacceptable. We asked at that firt evening if they want to refund us or if they want to move us to another room. If there was no room available for the rest of our trip they could have refunded us.
- Luciana (6/5): Not very convenient as it’s quite a distance from the Metro station. The alleys leading to the house are dirty and smell - The inside of the house is very clean and neat, although there are quite a lot of insects in the balcony area. The surroundings of the property have a strong, unpleasant odor and are extremely dark at night, which feels unsafe and uncomfortable.
- Angeliki (8/5): Great location, convenient stay - Very good location in Shanghai - the main street is a gem with lots of nice cafes and restaurants and walking distance to a lot of beautiful parts of Shanghai. The apartment is cute and comfortably sized for a longer stay. Some sewage issues due to the heavy rains meant an unpleasant odour at times but the staff was helpful and accommodating about this and offered us an alternative room while they maintained - we selected to stay. The apartment has limited ventilation so there's humidity and mould issues but this is typical for these old buildings in the area that have so much character! There's also no coffee or tea available but there are plenty of places to get this from on the main road.

- Nevin (9/5): Loved my stay at this bnb and would do it again. - I really liked the location of this bnb. It was very central to amenities and public transport, and was in the middle of a lively street and neighborhood. Close to convenience stores, grocery stores, shops, restaurants and bars. The Shikumen style apartments gave it a very local feel. I could step out and quickly be part of the city. The space was very big and comfortable. The Shikumen alleys were great for a local and authentic feel but maybe for some it would be a bit too rustic. Not a problem for me but I thought I'd mention it. May be initially hard to find. Not apparent restock of amenities (for me it was toilet paper)

- Heidi (8/5): We really enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate booking this property again in the future. - Great location (close to cafes, bars, metro station, convenience stores, etc) lovely decor, comfy bed, warm and the host responded very promptly to any queries (both prior to and during stay). The hot water boiler unit was quite noisy at night (we wore earplugs), there was no tea towel or dish cloth for washing up & wiping down the kitchen bench, and it would have been good to have a bath mat supplied as part of the bathroom linen but this was by no means a game changer.
