We appreciate that there is a water jug provided so you don't have to try and get the kettle under the bathroom tap to fill it for a cuppa. the place is always clean and well presented.

- Robert (8/5): Brief overnighter while on local business - Clean, comfortable and warm for a straightforward overnight stay. Needed a late check in which was arranged hassle-free, as was my early departure, all without (sadly) meeting the host team (next time!). Has a charming touch of the 1980s about it suggesting this place was premium back in its day, and I feel it still holds its own for those with reasonable expectations. Didn’t pose a problem for me but if you’re a light sleeper and you’re given an upstairs room, you’ll likely note the traffic flying by Gundagai on the motorway throughout the night. Know though that this probably would be the case in most parts of town as like all small country places, it’s completely quiet after hours. Inter-room noise proofing is also a bit 1980s but again, was OK for me.

The only negative was there were no bowls in the room. We had our breakfast but nothing to put it in. Only a minor inconvenience though.

- Jennifer (8/5): Very happy with my stay, its perfect for a short stay during a road trip or to stay multiple nights. - The entire place was so clean and beds were comfortable No designated car spaces so, due to checking in late, we did not get a car space and had to park on the street.

Despite the few short falls listed below, it was a lovely room and we got a good quiet nights sleep. The website advertised room service was available but there was no information booklet in the room with menu or ordering instructions. Apparently there is a breakfast hall but again no details re. Where to go or a menu. The office was unattended in the morning so we couldn't ask anyone. I probably wouldn't recommend this motel if you are a larger person as the toilet "cubicle" squeezed in next to the shower is quite a tight fit, even for an average sized adult. Not sure if all the rooms have the same layout though.

I didn’t want to leave. I felt very safe. It is on close to the main road and you do hear lots of trucks driving past.
- Jo (7/5): The bed was good, the room was clean, but there were challenges. - This was a great place to stay on our road trip south on the Hume. It was easy to find and very conveniently located in terms of just turning off the highway. Accessibility to the room was very good, and the hotel ensured I had a ground floor room as booked, as I added a note that I have physical mobility issues. The shower as also accessible for me, although there was one small ledge to step over. The bed was very comfortable. .The room was nice enough, but pretty basic for $165. The bathroom was clean but very basic: the 1980s style very small vanity doesn’t have anywhere to put down anything much at all - not real helpful when you are travelling and literally need to bring everything with you. In the room, there was one regular chair and one more comfortable sitting chair in a room intended for two people. There were two each of cups, teaspoons, glasses and sandwich plates, but no other cutlery or larger plates for anyone who brought their dinner back to their room, like we did. Eating at the hotel restaurant wasn’t an option as it is not currently running -a fact not mentioned at all on the website or by staff in the booking process.

There is an EV charger (but we didn’t use it as flat fee of $15 was expensive for the small top up we needed). Small things, eg no power point next to bed, curtains aren’t blackout which is a problem if you are on the street side with the lit up sign right outside.

This was also at the very end of the property so we were less stressed about disturbing other guests. The room was impeccably clean and we felt very comfortable. One downside was our room couldn't be locked with a key on the inside which meant our three year old could let himself out which he tried and succeeded in doing many times.
