• Zoe (9/5): Mata nui is a cute hostel to stay at well worth the price- the style of the home and the staff (plus the cat!) all make - The property was very clean and felt very homey. Staff were very kind and helpful, plus I loved their cat It would be nice to change the sliding door for the shared room to a door that closes, since you could hear other people outside very easily even when the sliding door was “closed”

No hubo agua caliente en todos los días de nuestra estadía. Solo 2 almohadas, sin cojines y la iluminación muy deficiente.

Idéal pour les backpackers - Les gros avantages : l’emplacement est en plein centre à proximité de tout, navette gratuite depuis l’aéroport avec accueil collier de fleur, dortoir des filles spacieux et aéré, personnel accueillant et réactif sur whatsapp Dortoir des garçons très petit et pas aéré, manque d’aération il fait très chaud. Pas de casier à bagage, manque de rangement dans les chambres, pas de table de chevet pour poser ses affaires (ex : téléphone, chargeur etc), hostel constamment ouvert donc possible présence de cafards

• Hector (5/5): Decepción i - La ubicación Lugar descuidado, las cortinas se arrastraban y esa parte se veía sucia. Sin mayores comodidades. Tampoco tenía televisión ni en habitación ni en lugares de uso de todos, como el living o cocina.

• Francisca (10/5): Espectacular - La ubicación es demasiado buena y el ambiente del hostal también, cuando fui se creó un ambiente muy agradable entre todos ya que todos estábamos viajando solos, lo recomendaría mucho. Recomendaría agregar otro baño ya que no da uno para todos en el alojamiento, todo lo demás está súper bien.

• gezgin (1/5): - Çalışanlar ve konum Odanın içeriden kilit mekanizması yoktu. Gece çok korktum. Saat 4 te tuvalete kalktım. Musluk patladı. Üstüm ıslandı. Vanayı bulup sorunu kendi başıma çözmek zorunda kaldım. Ertesi gün banyonun lambası patladı. Son gün ise kimseye haber vermeden tamirat başlamış ve denizden gelip duşta susuz kaldım ve o şekilde yola çıkmak zorunda kaldım. Satın aldığım özel oda 2 gece 145 dolardı ancak dormdakiler gibi 40 dolar bile etmezdi. Çatıda fareler geziyordu. Ayrıca özel tur satın almak için yönlendirildiğim acente benden indirimli 250 dolar aldı. Ören yeri bileti hariç, onu da ben aldım. Dışarda kimle konuştuysam özel turların 100-150 dolar olduğunu söylediler. Hatta oteli olan başka biriyle tanıştım ve Şili vatandaşları için özel turun 60 dolar olduğunu söyledi. Hayalim olan yere 2 günlüğüne gidip bu kadar kötü şeyler yaşamak üzerine kazıklanmak gerçekten çok kötüydü. Tüm param iade edilmeli hatta tarafıma tazminat ödenmeli. Buna rağmen yaşadığım stres endişe değişmeyecek. Ayrıca özel odamda Internet ve USB girişli priz yoktu. Bunun için de sürekli dorm kısmına aşağı inmek zorunda kaldım. • Russell (6/5): A little disappointed - Started out well. Were kindly picked up at the airport and given beautiful leis. We were also given an unexpected short tour of town before arriving at the room. It was freezing cold and we had to sleep with our clothes on. There is no heating in the room. There were twin beds instead of the double that was booked. There was no power point near the bed as stated, only one in the bathroom half way up the wall. There was no power when we arrived due to the wind. Curtains did not cover the full window so people could see in when walking past. The floor was dirty, so would advise to take thongs to wear or keep your shoes on. Lighting not enough to be able to read by so bring a torch. It is a shared outdoor kitchen under the deck, so was freezing due to the strong winds. Consequently we didn't use it as the weather was cold and rainy. We asked for towels when we found none and were told they are not included. So although we were then kindly provided with them apparently it was an exception, so take your own. Although it says free airport shuttle on the booking website, again we were told this was not included. On departure we asked the lady to book us a taxi as we don't speak Spanish. First we were told it was outside waiting, then when it wasn't there, we were told it would come at 1pm (when we were actually due at the airport). Then we were told to walk, which takes 20 minutes and we were already late by then so would have missed our flight if we walked. This became quite stressful but finally she rang and one came quite quickly. They charged CLP10,000 for a 4 minute ride. So would advise to leave enough time to walk to the airport.
• Alina (10/5): Exceptional - The Staff was really nice and the facilities were cleaned every day. The location is perfect and once we had a Tsunami Warning but the hostel immediatly contacted us and told us what to do and were always really transparent. The beds were a bit uncomfortable but other than that everything was perfect.
• Summer (1/5): Not good - Very close to Hanga Roa Very very filthy hostel. My mattress was broken, the blankets were all covered in stains, and the kitchen and living room were in very bad shape. I stayed here five nights and the women’s room was never cleaned once, and I doubt other rooms were ever cleaned. I also found the staff to be a bit rude when I needed to reach out with questions. I felt like the only thing they wanted from me was money and they didn’t care about my stay. Lastly, and I know the hostel cannot control it much, but a lot of other guests here were very unsightly. One man never closed the bathroom door when he peed, the toilet was often unflushed, and people were often vaping and smoking inside the rooms.

• Lauren (3/5): Good location and friendly staff, but very basic accommodation. - The two women who work there are lovely and very helpful. There is also a free airport shuttle, which is great considering there’s no public transport on the island. The hostel is very basic and not very clean (I didn’t see a cleaner once during my three night stay). There are no staff around much of the time and communication is poor, so if you WhatsApp them needing something you’re unlikely to get a timely response. The evenings are cold and there were no additional blankets provided. My bathroom bin was not emptied once during my stay. The WiFi doesn’t extend out to the private rooms at the back of the building. The bathroom is mouldy and smells quite unpleasant. Most of the rooms, as well as the building itself, have no locks and there are no lockers provided for personal belongings. They charge around £12 to rent a towel. The curtains didn’t cover a third of the huge window at the front of my room, so there was no privacy. And to add insult to injury, I found a massive cockroach in my room on my last night :)
