We hadn't expected the location to be on the edge of a rundown part of town. Unfortunately there was too much direct evidence of drug taking visible from the balcony and audible through the night.

• JulianWaingortin (2/5): Basic, nice and clean, Ultra cheap / zero intimacy - All newly renovated, the bathroom was nice and clean, the kitchen was also nice. This is 8 apartments per floor, with 3 rooms in each apartment. The rooms are not closed, there are no keys (other guess can come in if they please). My room had tinted glass walls, so all the light from the street was coming in constantly and I slept awfully badly for this reason. When I called the number given to ask for a better room nobody answered, and then on WhatsApp answered to tell me it was a wrong number (it is the same number they advertise here on Booking as I am writing this, and that they give you when you arrive). Air conditioning was poor and it was too hot. The walls don't close at the ceiling, so you can hear the other guests fart and snore all night. My neighbours were considerate, but it could be a nightmare. There is no sitting space, there is no living room, there was only a tiny table for 2. Finally, this is located next to a few homeless shelters, so the surroundings are always full of junkies and the kind of people that make you hate coming back at the end of the day.

Room style - very clean, but it was a really a 'fancy hostel' with no privacy, or locks on doors. Felt very unsafe for my belonging when I was not there. Bathroom sink was clogged, etc. and nightly drug addicts 'dosing up' at their favourite spot across the street.

They absolutely do not reveal that it isn’t a room or apartment but a tiny box and that doesn’t have a lock and partitions that you can see through at the top of. You also share the ‘apartment’ with at least two other strangers so depending on how considerate and messy or noisy they are you gamble. They take a large deposit immediately but do not repay it for almost 3 weeks, In fact I’m still not convinced I have had it back. Really wouldn’t recommend- if you can avoid then I would encourage looking for something else.

Se ven algunos drogadictos lo que asusta un poco si llegas muy de noche.
• Andre (5/5): Good enough but we will not go there again. - The location was good for reaching the places we wanted to go. The prevalence of drug users in the area was most upsetting. We had the feeling that the place had just been refurbished and not completely done. The rod holding the shower was dangerous as it came undone when you pulled on it. The safe had not been installed. The furniture was the cheapest available.

Würden wir nicht mehr buchen. - Das Appartement war sehr sauber, modern eingerichtet und hatte oberhalb der Straße einen ganz netten Ausblick auf die Skyline von Downtown. Die Badewanne war super. Das einzige, was aber relativ entscheidend ist, was und nicht gefallen hat, ist die Lage. An sich ist die Lage nicht verkehrt und die U-Bahn ist in der Nähe sowie weitere Attraktionen fußläufig zu erreichen, allerdings liegt das Hotel in einer Lage, die ziemlich heruntergekommen ist und in der sehr viele Fentanylkonsumenten „liegen“, „stehen“ und man auch regelmäßig mitbekommt, wie sie sich das Zeug spritzen. Aufgrund dessen sind hier wahrscheinlich auch ziemlich viele Läden pleite gegangen und verwahrlost. In dieser Straße fühlt man sich weder sicher noch wohl. Dafür kann das Hotel nichts, aber es liegt trotzdem dort.

The advert looked like you are getting an apartment with a shared bathroom which I was okay. Nowhere the advert said that you will be sharing the apartment with two other people and that your room won’t have a lock but only sliding doors and no walls that would reach the ceiling because of the non existing ventilation in the apartment. I could live with the sharing part but that you can’t lock your room? Are you kidding me? I asked at the reception to get another room but if course there was nothing available. I was just told that nothing was ever reported stolen or missing. Like that’s reassuring! I would not recommend staying here if you are a solo traveler. Very expensive and you can’t even lock your own room.

• Dylan (7/5): Good position, modern building and easy access to the main attractions - The position was exceptional. The property is located in Downtown Vancouver. You are also a few steps away from public transportation The room was too small and was not fully covered which made it difficult to sleep despite the other tenants being mindful.
• Dora1997 (9/5): Good valuer for money. - Very clean accommodation and very hospitable and nice hosts. Good value for money. The beds were really uncomfortable; I was there for 10 days, so it affected my stay a bit. More than half of the electric sockets didn't work in the room, so no charger next to the bed. Also, the accommodation is really close to East Hastings, some drug addicts around the accommodation.

Not eco friendly, as we had to put the dish washer after every meal. We had 3 large plates, 2 small bowls and 2 larger bowls, no salad bowl, wine glasses etc. 3 knives and forks …. The fork bent while I tried to mash a fresh avocado! Paper towel would be very handy, as would salt and pepper and tea bags. As OS travellers we don’t pack such necessities… we hope our accommodation would supply such items. Linen, thin old and tired, in need of replacing. The piece of soap we were given would not have washed a baby for three nights! Lift your game!
• Andreas (8/5): Gutes Appartement, nicht optimale Lage - Sehr groß, gut ausgestattet, komfortabel Die Lage. Entfernung zur Innenstadt zwar gut, aber der Blick nach hinten geht auf ein ehemaliges Hotel, dass heute als Aufgangstation für Drogenabhängige genutzt wird. Daher trifft man beim Rausgehen öfter einmal auf Menschen in leider sehr traurigen Zustand. Fairerweise muss man dazusagen, dass dieses in Vancouver ein weitverbreitetes Phänomen ist.

• Kyra (2/5): Don’t bother - Not as advertised - the “single room” is a shared apartment with open walls. The listing claims “soundproof”, but it’s open? Laughable. They put a sticker on the “soundproof” wall. It was very loud and echoey. One other patron walked in to the room and as soon as he saw it, he booked somewhere else and walked out, forfeiting his money. When I asked staff about the room, they stated the listing states that it’s shared, when I pointed out that the listing does not indicate a shared kitchen/bathroom/room they tried to gaslight me and say that it does. See screenshot for the listing clearly stating that it’s meant to be a single room with shared bathroom (not shared kitchen & apartment). Staff were rude. No offer for room swap or refund. I was told to go through booking.com but I had booked non refundable. Beds were cheap and uncomfortable, plastic lining on under the sheets. Cheap furniture. Not worth the money at all! Do not make the same mistake I did, if you want a private room, book elsewhere & don’t waste your money. Even the printed documents in the supposed “single room” call it a dorm 😆🤷🏽‍♀️ refer to pics of how “soundproof” it is!

• Anna (7/5): Intresting - The rooms were pretty private all things considered The bathroom was clean but it got dirty fast and there was no soap provided. There was also someone living there a little more long term who didn't know that someone woulde be coming in so that was weird. It is a good room to sleep, but it was a weird experience.
• Stefan (9/5): - Great location, good price, clean. What more could you want. Sometimes it was difficult to get the key fob to activate the lifts. The only other thing was we had late night meetings and the light in the room was very bright, so I never got a sleep in.
• Ted (8/5): A happy stay! - The size of the apartment was ideal for us. The facilities are excellent. The washer and dryer are in great condition. The refrigerator and freezer are huge. The lounges are comfortable, the bed is a good size, the kitchen is very well equipped. The WiFi was very good. The TV on wheels is very convenient. The location is very convenient. 450 metres to Waterfront Station, fresh market a block away, shopping areas in all directions made life easy for us travellers. Access to tourist facilities like Hop on Hop off buses, trains ferries etc is very easy. Building security is good and easy to use. The $50 fee for early access is very reasonable. The dislikes were few and not really important. Shower gel instead of bar soap would have been preferable. Bath room facilities and towel supplies were great, but a few hooks for wet towels and hand towels would be convenient.

• Eleanor (8/5): Lovely apartment, Great location. - The apartment was basic but very clean, the bed was comfortable the couch was not. It has all.of the basic amenities you need for a short stay. The location was amazing we were in town for a concert at Rogers Arena and it was just a short walk away. It is also close to the Waterfront train station and Gas Town. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. We were told a few times by email we could drop.our luggage off before check in time at 4pm. We arrived at 1pm and no one was there to let.us in so we could drop our luggage I called and text the number provided and even tried through Booking.com but no one answered which resulted in us walking around with our luggage for 3 hrs. I received a message at 2 mins to 4pm that I could drop off my luggage, not helpful.

• Renee (8/5): - The location was fantastic and the price was not too bad for a shared space. Staff were around during day time hours to help me and let me lock up my luggage until I could check in. The building is downtown and downtown Vancouver just unfortunately has a lot of homelessness BUT this building is very secure & I felt very safe as a solo traveller. I was told there was some space in the walls to allow airflow but I didn’t know it was all around the whole room. I felt if I was watching tv on my tablet I would disturb others. The laundry room door wouldn’t open. When I went to put in my groceries there was food that I believe was old as the yogurt was expired. Smelled off when the fridge was open.

• Yitong (7/5): - Good location, communication, cooking and regular facilities Not actually a room cuz the walls were not sealed up. Will be disturbed by short-stay guests who packed bags at night. Cant blame them since it's their plan and they might be trying their best to keep it down, but still, noisy at times since it's not a real room. Bathroom didnt lock and they didn't fix it the whole time I was there

• Stephen (8/5): Looking for an alternative to a hotel. This could be your answer - Self contained , spacious, good facilities and location. Nothing.
• Duernholz (8/5): Great to be amongst the mountains, trees and ocean. - There was none, though Jam Cafe was really good as was Meat & Bread.
• Lucini (8/5): - The kitchen was well equipped, the bathroom was very clean and the bed was very comfortable! The room is very small and has a weird layout. Despite this, the staff was very nice and helpful and the location was also very good.

Overall would recommend, great for the value. - Close proximity to downtown spots such as Gastown, Vancouver Lookout, and coffee shops Check in process, not sure how it works after 6pm since staff leaves and there’s no further instruction if you are arriving for a late check in (which is completely normal btw). Be sure to ask beforehand if you will not be checking in before 6pm.
• Colin (9/5): Secure & convenient downtown location. - Secure & convenient downtown location. Nothing really about the apartment but the overlooking the housing association across the road was interesting.

• c (7/5): My "room" was a cubicle with walls that did not reach the ceiling, meaning I did not have privacy. - When I arrived, the door was locked. No doorbell. I could see someone inside at the desk and I knocked and knocked, but he did not get up. I checked my email for check in instructions, the only info was to call a cell phone number, which I did, and nobody answered. Finally, another guest let me in and I was able to get my key. The apartment was clean and comfortable, but my cubicle did not have its own light source, I had to rely on light from the hallway. Likewise, because the cubicle walls did not reach the ceiling, I could not sleep in complete darkness because light came in from the rest of the apartment. This place was not as advertised and I have previously enjoyed better comfort and privacy in a much cheaper female-only dorm room in a hostel, where I at least had a lamp, a blackout curtain, and a place to securely lock my luggage. The apartment was shared with other people and I could not lock my cubicle when I went out. If this place was advertised as a cubicle instead of as a "room" (it was NOT a room), I would not have booked it. I was disappointed and felt lied to.

• Allyson (7/5): Stay was fine. - There was staff available to check us in, so it was easy. We didn't appreciate having to pay $20 to check in one hour early when the room was already for us. The room was very nice (everything new) It could use more hooks and towel bars in the bathroom, as well as a mirror somewhere outside of the bathroom.
