Guest Reviews
- Colburn (10/5): A lovely cottage in a fantastic location - We had a very comfortable and straightforward stay, using the cottage as a great base for some brilliant mountain walks in the glen.
- Constantine (8/5): - It was very clean, relatively well equipped, but lacks any chairs in rooms and clothes storage space. Beatiful, rustic out of the way setting. Even saw deer outside the house two times over 48 hrs. The place is clearly new/newly redone, lovely wood stove, great for nature lovers and great for a retreat from the world! I'd absolutely stay again, but with better preparation. The place is REALLY out of the way. The road is single track the whole way for nearly 6 miles from the nearest main road. It is remote. This is alright on its own. However, you MUST stock up on food stuffs and drinking water. Water on the property has a strong brown colouring. The staff said it was drinkable, but is has a mildly acidic/humic flavour from the local peat, and is visually very off putting and not great drinking or for coffee/tea brewing. This was only communicated on the day of check in and not very clearly, with only the the hot tub water being reported as brown prior to check in.
- Mark (10/5): What a location. Drive to the end of the glen and be prepared to be blown away - Location and loved the hot tub All good
- Man Hon (8/5): - Location middle of nowhere. Would be handy with shower gel provided. Slow weak shower. Broken toilette seat. No mirror in bedroom. But will defo stay again ;)
- MIKEL (9/5): -
- Marion (8/5): Despite the above, it is a lovely home, and very comfortable. - Beautiful house. Comfortable beds. Interesting location. There was no toilet paper or coffee when we arrived. Too far from a store to return for supplies. The house was hot, and couldn’t find A/Cdevice. There was no book of directions.
- Daniel (10/5): - Peaceful magical place, very friendly hosts N/a
- Jane (7/5): Cute cottage in rural location with great view. Need to take everything as long way from shops. - Lovely rural location with great view. Air fresh and clean. Cottage spotlessly clean. Washing machine a bonus. Dangerous stairs with no railing on one side. Advertised as 2 bathrooms but there is only one shower so had to share with another couple. No basics like salt and pepper (and shop a long way away). Sharp knives completely blunt. No reply from host until we had checked out 2 days later although initially asking us if there was anything they could do to help. Candles and wood fire but no matches.
- Moyra (10/5): Absolutely beautiful picturesque - Absolutely delightful picturesque and well maintained inside and out The seating accommodation in the living room could have done with at least one more chair.
- Anonymous (8/5): We enjoyed staying there - almost everything water
- Christine (7/5): Good - Loved the remote location! Wish there was more seating in the living room, we were 4 adults traveling and only one couch to fit all of us.
- Timm (8/5): A very comfortable house in a calm and beautiful environment - The hosts met us on the way and guided us to the property. They also had a bottle of English sparkling wine for us! The house is spacious, well equipped and located in a beautiful setting. It was a bit difficult to find the property. It would be useful to provide detailed coordinates, for example through what3words.
- Agata (10/5): Idyllic setting! Nature, peace and quiet 😊😊 - Location is idyllic, house is very comfortable and have everything you might need for your stay, we planned just short stay but we extended it just to enjoy the lovely setting and views 😊 Nothing really but if I would want to be very picky previous comment was correct mattress is squeaky 😂 and we were blessed with the weather so some outside sitting area would be lovely
- Victoria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (7/5): Good -
- Fiona (7/5): Cottage in quiet location - Cottage in a very quiet location.
Clean and tidy No internet

No welcome book
No instructions for hot tub ( new so did not want to use it)
No instructions for wood burner
No idea where walks / to the loch where
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - The location is beautiful and peaceful. The house was very clean.
- Lucifer (10/5): Heaven on earth - The hosts the property and the location could not be any better it was the complete package.
The hosts were very friendly, helpful and kind. Amazing people. The property was spotless and had everything it was so peaceful if you need to breath this is the place to go to, and when you walk outside its like you have entered a alternative universe it is stunning. I will be back without any doubt.
- Shawn (9/5): The view was beautiful. -
- Cathy (9/5): Highland hideaway - Remote location, lovely walks nearby, wood provided for a fire, clean and warm accomodation Wifi and tv reception was patchy on one of two nights
- Kate (9/5): Superb -
- Iain (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning cottage, perfect location for doing the munros in the area, place was immaculate, great drying room area as wee came back from a hike to dry all our clothes. Great wifi, everything you need is all there to use, would highly recommend. Nothing
- Louise (6/5): Fine accommodation, good location, some issues - The views were spectacular, and it felt private and secure. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen facilities were a good standard. When I spoke to the host she was pleasant. We managed to catch sight of some wild deer which was amazing! I'm just going to list the issues we had here, unfortunately there were a good few - beginning with before we even arrived.
- Only hot water was from electric shower, none from taps.
- The host didn't sent through info on how to get into property, had to chase her down through multiple means until she finally answered her phone an hour or so before we were due to arrive.
- She tried to get into the property on the second day we were there, not knowing how long our booking was for, seeming surprised we were still there.
- there was no welcome pack or information about anything both in the cottage or surrounding amenities (usually expect a how to guide on some things, along with nearest hospital etc).
- the toilet and shower lead directly into the kitchen and have no locks.
- a lot of things are very high up (mirrors and hooks), so if you're short, be prepared to clamber!
- we had no indication that this is in a hunting area until we drove past a hunting group
- there were no clothes drying facilities, no clothes horse or line.
- the living room only had seating for 2, when there is bed space for 4, meaning we couldn't hang out as a family in there.
I do feel it's a shame to be writing such a long list of negatives, and a lot of it we would have let go if other things had been okay - the communication was the biggest let down, and while she was pleasant on the phone, there was insecurity for us in travelling so long not knowing if we'd be able to get in, and then further to have her not even know how long we were staying. It made us feel quite unwelcome and insecure.
- Adam (9/5): Superb - Great location , great location, great location - amazing views, if you're lucky enough to catch the sunset here on a sunny evening it's an image you'll carry with you forever! Checking out
- Dominique (9/5): Superb -

- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - We had a really good experience. The cottage was big and cozy with a breathtaking view. It was clean and super comfortable.
Also, the hostess was very kind and helpful and she made us feel like home.
- Tiegen (10/5): Exceptional - If I could move to this house, I would! It was tranquil and captured the beauty of Scotland perfectly. It's simple and amazing value for money. Wish we had stayed longer.
- Harry (7/5): Satisfactory for a one-night stay, - Accommodation was basic but clean We could have done with a visitor book, local brochures and some indication about wildlife, walks and other activities on the estate.
- Abi (10/5): Amazing - Was super homely and it a lovely Location
- Derek (8/5): Special - Character
- Green (10/5): Great stay! No issues at all, would recommend! - Location, entire place, large parking area. Lovely noise of nearby stream/water
