Guest Reviews
- Warren (10/5): We’ll be back when next staying in Greytown - Lovely hosts, warm and comfortable BnB with great continental breakfast.
- Philippa (10/5): - Love everything about this place. Absolutely nothing at all.
- heather (10/5): An ideal place, very comfortable, perfect. - Comfortable and clean, a very exceptional place. All amenities included. It was perfect
- John (10/5): Memorable stay - all great. - Great, friendly and generous hosts. Historic home with charm and character. Will definitely stay again.
- Donna (9/5): Lovely hosts, great location, generous breakfast and super comfortable bed - Exactly as shown in photos - you have the three front rooms of a lovely old villa set in pretty gardens. Completely private and quiet but the owners are on site if you need them. Quaint and quirky, a step back in time. Spacious bedroom with lovely comfortable bed and high quality linens, great big bathroom with good quality towels, and sitting room with generous breakfast provisions, fruit and treats. Leonie and Dale are great hosts, kind and thoughtful. The villa is just along from the main shopping/cafe area, so handy to everything. Greytown was busy at Easter and the surrounding streets were at a premium for parking so I appreciated Dale's offer of off-street parking. I would stay again and recommend to others.

- Diane (9/5): Wonderful hosts and a beautifully cared for, clean property in a great location - Location is great if you want very easy access to the town centre. Beautifully clean and comfy. Wonderful, thoughtful hosts who genuinely have tried to think of everything you might need during your stay including an amazing assortment of continental self-serve breakfast options. It is an older property (clue is in the name) so if you want uber-modern furniture this isn’t for you. There is nothing not to like. Just be aware as mentioned of older style furnishing in keeping with the property and the main road location (windows are double glazed so road noise inside isn’t a problem).
- Helen (10/5): Excellent. Glad I chose it. Happy to go back any time!! - Great spot and people! Nothing. Everything was fantastic.
- Maree (9/5): Restful, comfortable and relaxing - exactly what I needed. - Both Leonie and Jeanette were very helpful and obliging and answered queries happily. The accommodation took me back and reminded me what my grandmothers home looked and felt like - comforting. Water pressure in the shower was not strong, small kitchenette was a little hard to navigate but manageable.
- Fiona (10/5): Lovely character accommodation - The ambience was lovely and it was a very short walk into town. Breakfast supplies were excellent, the bed was comfortable, and we liked having the lounge/dining area as well as the spacious bedroom. We would stay there again.
- Grant (9/5): -
- Alfred (10/5): - Extremely clean, lots of options provided for breakfast. The area you stay in is large.

- Arch (9/5): -
- Steve (8/5): Would stay again - As expected the decor was from another era and very well done. Everything you could need supplied and the bed was exceptionally comfortable It’s on the main street so you are aware of the traffic early in the morning

Parking available. Nothing of note.
- Koenraad (9/5): Just fine for being in Greytown would recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy the village of visit frie - Fine for what we needed. Great location close to everything. Having a full apartment: bedroom, living room and bathroom was exceptional. Double glazin cut Dow the noise of the highway. Easy parking on a side road

- Patsy (10/5): Comfortable, relaxing and generously provided for. - Our second stay at The Old School House. Leonie and Dale are welcoming and helpful hosts. The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and clean. Very well appointed with every thoughtful breakfast and snack item! Just a step out the front gate and into the beautiful Greytown town centre.

- Brett (10/5): Wonderfully comfortable bed in a beautiful house. - Wonderfully comfortable bed in a beautiful house. We had breakfast in the lovely garden outside our front door. It's on the main street through town.
- Christophe (10/5): Everything was perfect. - We enjoyed the atmosphere of the home with large rooms reminiscent of the period of the house, made more enjoyable by the warm and inviting hosts. We would highly recommend them and would definitely return for another holiday in that area. Everything was perfect.
- Lizziem (10/5): Excellent - Faultless - Cosy - Clean - Friendly Hosts - Private - PERFECT in every way - Location was excellent - just a short walk into the town centre. Easy to find with free parking right outside - even though the owner offered his own spot in the carport!! The large bed was super comfy and luxurious. Excellent 'reading' light on both sides of the bed. The bathroom was superb! Loved the decor and wooden floor, good size shower cubicle, plenty of supplies, large mirror, chair for clothing, hooks for towels. The kitchen was FULLY equipped with all you would need for a king's breakfast - wow! So many choices and all very well laid out - they thought of everything! The lounge area was cosy and well thought out for comfort, tv instructions (always need that now), comfy armchairs, great night lighting down the hallway. The owners met us with friendliness, smiles and such a welcome feeling. Then they left to give us privacy, but with a note that they were on hand if needed. Their lovely shop on the side of the house was a bonus to rummage through craft and tastefully sought out 2nd hand items. We sat on the large verandah for afternoon drinks and enjoyed a salad meal on the dining table in the lounge. Thank you Leonie and Dale - an amazing place for guests, tastefully decorated throughout, you are super friendly hosts who have thought of everything to make guests feel right at home. Highly recommended stay - you won't be disappointed. You will want to stay longer!
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional - The extra fruit bowl, and the bed
- Bevan (10/5): Exceptional - Great host, warm comfortable accommodation that will be hard to surpass.
- Clement (10/5): Convenient, comfortable, and lovely! - The house was comfortable and very lovely. It was right by the main road (a very convenient location and easy to find) and the windows did a phenomenal job of keeping the traffic sounds out. I didn’t spend much time outside but it had a beautiful garden. The continental breakfast was great, with lots of options. I’d love to stay again! No negatives, we had a great stay! One neutral thing to note is that there wasn’t technically parking on-site but there was so much free street parking right outside that it wasn’t a problem at all.
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sherry (10/5): Exceptional - The friendliness of the hosts was exceptional. Everything was first class. Not a thing.
- Brian (10/5): Perfect in every way - The Old School is an exceptional historical property the hosts were wonderful and gave us total privacy but were always available to help if required.
Thank you for a wonderful two days.
Brian and Diane Nothing
- Ronald (9/5): Pleasant, comfortable and welcoming - The Location was perfect for seeing this small town. There is plenty to eat and you are left to your own devices during the whole stay. you have your own lounge where you can relax and watch TV. We were worried about road noise but in the end we didn't notice any. The main parking for the location is on the street. Though not ideal the owners will let you put your vehicle in the drive if you are worried about your vehicle.
- Leanne (10/5): Fabulous, we will be back! - Fantastic location, comfortable, cozy and with lots of extras and special touches.
- Syd (10/5): Excellent facilities - Beautiful and clean Nothing to dislike
- Michael (9/5): Exceptionally nice - Very comfortable and plenty of room Noise from busy road outside
- Maureen (10/5): Would definitely go again - Really comfortable all we needed .Charming and delightful
- Mark (8/5): A comfortable and convenient stay in Greytown - Our host was there to greet us on arrival and showed us all the facilities. We enjoyed the space of bedroom, sitting room and large bathroom. Continental breakfast worked well for us. Bed was very comfortable and we slept soundly. Main street is very busy with traffic, although did calm down at night. Decor is deliberately old fashioned so not quite to our taste, but not inappropriate for the property.
- Sue (10/5): This brilliant accommodation was extremely relaxing, fastiously clean and comfortable. Only sad we couldn’t stay longer. - Superbly decorated and extreme attention to detail. Owners where extremely welcoming, helpful and genuinely lovely, without being intrusive. Gardens are beauty and complement this historic house. Nothing: all was fabulous!
- Alistair (9/5): Short and sweet stay! All good! - Did not have breakfast -away early. Location was good, very close to town center, and on the Main Street. I met Leonie who showed the facilities and gave me a key so that i would not disturb her on returning later. I attended a reunion and dinner. Nothing! All good, clean and well appointed.
- Roy (10/5): Great location, relaxing and comfortable - We liked everything, private self contained, comfy bed, great bathroom with lovely soaps etc.
Lots of breakfast options and snacks.
Warm welcome from owners.
Lovely front porch and beautiful garden setting. Nothing
- Miranda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Saskia (10/5): Lovely B&B Old Schoolhouse in Greytown - We loved our stay at the old schoolhouse! Leonie and Dale share a very cosy and comfortable guest appartment in their house with lovely details and many nice extra's. They made us feel very welcome. Greytown is a really nice old town to spend a weekend. None
