• Luis (5/5): Way Over Priced and Far - Nothing much… way way way over priced. Had I known how remote and far it is from everything and basic, I would’ve spent the extra $100 and stayed at the Radisson Blu (well worth it). I didn’t like that our room was in a separate building about 50 meters away from the main building’s lobby area which is kind of nice. The second building feels like a cheap youth hostel. And the kitchen smelled bad. We shared bathrooms with everyone. The internet marketing makes it seem as if two or three rooms share a bathroom - not twenty rooms sharing one bathroom.
• Eva (9/5): Great place a bit outside of the town but the walk is nice. Recommend for a few nights stay! - I chose Coal Miners because it was the cheapest offer and I was nicely surprised! Good breakfast, very nice staff, bar with beer and also some food, cozy area to sit and relax, the rooms were simple but comfortable, the bathrooms were nicely renovated, clean and large enough. I was afraid of the walking distance to the town (2-3 km), but in the end, it was a great way to stretch my legs and look around. I didn't see any kitchen equipment available for guests, but maybe I didn't look properly.

• Tzu-Jou (9/5): Good value for the stay. - The breakfast got eggs, yogurt, ham and cheese which is good to power a day. The bathroom is clean and modern. The washing room is pretty good. The soundproof is a bit bad. The location is a bit far from the center. You need to walk a long way to the supermarket.

Dårlig utstyr på det felles kjøkkenet. Det virker som administrasjonen ikke bryr seg. Det koster ikke så mye å kjøpe en ordentlig vannkoker og kaffemaskin. Også gulvet r linoleum fra mange år tilbake i tid. Med antall gjester bør det være penger i budsjettet for oppussing og oppgradering.

• Ann-Marie (9/5): Gute und preiswerte Unterkunft - Schöne Unterkunft mit schlichten Zimmern. Die Bademäntel sind ein nettes Extra und erleichtern den Weg zum Gemeinschaftsbad enorm. Diese waren sauber und in ausreichender Zahl vorhanden. Bei schlechtem Wetter ist der Wechsel (schätzungsweise 100m über die Straße) zwischen Haupthaus (Essen) und Nebengebäude nicht so angenehm.

Los baños muy limpios,cocina luminosa.El bar en la recepción estupendo, muy bien decorado, muy buenas vistas y desayuno muy agradable. Que arriba en el valle, mas de 2 kms del centro, sin medios de transporte, solo el taxi o tus piernas.No hay problema a no ser que vayas muy cargado.

Men det fungerte over all forventning. Det var rene fine rom med do og dusj. Bra vaskerom og gode tørkemulighetet for våte svette klær. Savnet et opplegg for oss som reiser aleine ved middag og frokost. F.eks. langbord hvor det er folk samla.

• Mahesh (8/5): Experience a Coal Miner’s Cabin in Longyearbyen - Experience of being in a Coal Miner Cabin; do not expect the facilities of a traditional hotel. It was the Coal Miner’s Cabins then at the time of the Coal Mining Era of Svalbard which later restored in to a lodging. It’s one of the few stay available in Longyearbyen. Around 1.5 KM away from the city centre. You will have to depend on a Taxi or by walk in freezing cold if you have things to do in the City Centre. Shuttle bus drops you to and from the Airport. Toilets are common and the beds are single twin beds in each room if you are a family. Excellent Mountain View from the rooms. You will have to lift up the baggage’s through the stairs if your room happens to be on the upper floors as no Elevator available. There is a reataurant and bar nearby the main reception where you can order your dinner or drinks. Breakfast was average with minimum items. No Lift to carry baggages

• Andrey (9/5): Great place to stay on Svalbard! - A budget-friendly place to stay on Svalbard! Great views around, very clean and warm in May, comfortable beds. The staff is friendly and the food is good! One evening reindeers were passing by the window. Rooms would benefit from better sound insulation. A Svalbard tradition to take off your shoes right at the entrance (even in the common areas) means you need to bring slippers, otherwise the socks will be dirty in the entrance area.

If budget is a concern then it is good value for money option considering Svalbard. Rooms have basic furniture and in fair condition. Location is bit far from city center, so if you do not like walking then taxi is the only option.

Da vaskepersonalet ble spirt om klokka ble det sagt det var ingen klokke på hylla. Hylla hadde ikke blitt nevnt. 99% sikker på atvdet var personalet. Styr unna.

Z każdej strony otaczał mnie piękny widok na góry, jednocześnie mogłem pójść krótkim spacerkiem do miasta w 20 min po drodze obserwując renifery. Śniadania były bardzo pyszne i obfite. Personel bardzo starał się utrzymać porządek i dobrą atmosferę. Świetne miejsce wrócę na pewno 🩵🩵

Camera spaziosa e pulita, bagni condivisi sempre puliti, con doccia grandissima. Spazi comuni accoglienti e confortevoli. Colazione molto buona e ricca (non ci sono dolci). Cena dignitosa; c’è un menù fisso e per chi ha intolleranze o richieste particolari, vengono fatte delle varianti. Personale gentile e simpatico. Ottime birre! A voler essere puntigliosi metterei qualche piano d’appoggio in più in camera, perché è difficile posizionare valigia e quant’altro.
