Taryn (6/5): Deceptive Apartment Listing - Cozy, comfortably furnished apartment near airport/SGR. The owner was super accommodating and flexible with a very late check out when my flight was cancelled. But... This was probably the most deceptive listing I've seen on this site. I booked a one bedroom apartment with pool and gym access. When I arrived, the owner seemed amused that I expected to have the whole apartment in my apartment rental and said the kitchen and living room would be shared if anyone booked the 2nd bedroom or the apartment next door. So if you're booking here, I would contact the owner to see what she thinks you're booking as opposed to what the listing says. I asked where the gym was and the owner told me it was not functioning - the listing clearly stated that it is. You had to find a security guard to let you in to the gym - but all it had was broken equipment. The pool exists, but is cloudy green, obviously hasn't been maintained in months and can't be used. Payment is via some website that feels sketchy or Mpesa - the owner let me pay cash on arrival.

Greg (1/5): Bad - It was clean. Good wifi. The mattresses on the beds were completely worn out. The shower was horrible,either to hot or not hot at all. This was for all the bedrooms. The carpet was smelly. I was washed but never dried thus very smelly. There was insufficient condiments. Minimal cooking oil and no salt whatsoever. The remote control for one of the bedrooms did not have working batteries. Lighting in one of the bedrooms wasn't functioning

Few hour before arrival, we got the location and it was on the another side of the main road as planned.but in the vicinity of njama choma and small markets, fruit stalls, too.Clara is very gut organized and responsive. We had some difficulties switching on the wifi and the water heater- it took much time to get warm water. In the mornig few uber driver didnt want to pick us up, because the app is away from the main road.but the security of the app friedly helped, and as always in Kenia it worked well.

Kenrick (10/5): Exceptional Stay Close to JKIA - Communication was great, and the host upgraded us to a very spacious and wonderful apartment. Everything was on point... exceeded our expectations. It was very comfortable and cosy for the one night (wish I stayed longer). Very conveniently located for access to the airport and train. Great value for the price as well. WiFi was great. No complaints here
Margaret (4/5): Not a good location - Nice host that was very responsive in texting. She sent a wonderful driver (we paid for) to pick us up at train station and then take us to airport. This place is not in a good location. Thank goodness we arranged a driver through the site because a taxi or Uber would have never maneuvered all the red tape to get us inside the “compound”. I don’t really know why anyone would want to stay here. We chose for it being close to train station and airport, which it is, but there are better places, do a better search than we did! It’s down a super dodgy dirt road with people burning fires/living outside. We had to leave at 3am for airport and guards wouldn’t let our driver in the gate so we had to walk in dark through the whole compound of dark buildings and go outside gate to meet our driver. I would have FREAKED OUT if I had been alone. Also, lots of cockroaches in the kitchen scurrying about and mosquitoes in both bedrooms. Also this place does not take payment through Booking . com and makes you choose this weird Kenya bank link to pay. Super weird that has never happened before to me. I am checking my Visa card when I get home!
Laura (8/5): Comfortable, self-catering appartment close to Nairobi Terminus of Madaraka Express. - My mom and I booked this appartment because it is close to the station for the Nairobi - Mombasa train. It offers everything you might need: two bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, bedroom, living room, terrace, etc. The host is very friendly and responsive. Excellent value for money if you are on a budget and tired of high hotel rates in the city. The road to the appartment complex is unpaved and in poor condition. As a result we struggled to get an uber to come pick us up early in the morning. Something to be aware of if you don't have your own transport. Don't let it keep you from staying here though. It all worked out in the end.

All necessary amenities for one night stay. Not easy to find by the driver. Very good contact with the host via whatsapp Our bed didnt had mosquito net so we were fighting with mosquitos in the night. Other rooms have this net.

There is a little terrace and a swimming pool that I didn't have time to enjoy, but they all look great! The living room is beautiful and cozy. Superb stay! I was not aware that the kitchen and the living room were to be shared with whoever was staying in the other room. On my arrival specially the kitchen was quite messy, dirty dishes all over, etc. On their defense, this was all cleared by the staff very early morning, by 0700am the whole place was spotless!
