- Fri (10/5): - The outdoors has never felt quite this homely. Stefano Pelloni and his wonderful family set out to create a resort centered on "oneness with nature," and they have truly delivered. Every inch of the property is meticulously curated to maintain a heavenly vibe that follows you wherever you go.
The lodges offer a beautiful "traditional homestead" feel, but the Bush Bubble Lodge was the highlight for me. It provides such a deep sense of seclusion that while chilling inside, I completely forgot I was in a shared resort. The setup is incredible: outdoor furniture, ambient path lighting, a hammock swing, a catamaran net, and even an outside shower. Inside the bubble, you’ll find a sitting room, bedroom, and full amenities.
It’s the kind of place you visit and never want to leave. I could honestly write a book about it, but I’ll let my top highlights speak for themselves.
My Top 12 Highlights
1. Genuine Hospitality: From the owners to the staff, everyone is cordial and professional. You feel welcomed in every single interaction.
2. Room Service: They offer complimentary room service (having breakfast delivered to your lodge upon request).
3. The LichtHaus Access: Enjoy free boat rides to and from LichtHaus throughout the day.
4. Evening Bonfires: Perfectly placed bonfire spots are lit every evening.
5. Pool & Jacuzzi: A beautiful swimming pool with an adjoining jacuzzi for ultimate relaxation.
6. The Bubble Spa: The private bathtub/spa setup within the Bush Bubble is a dream.
7. The Jungle Gym: This felt like a real-life extension of The Flintstones! It’s incredibly unique; I’ve never seen anything like it.
8. Hammocks Everywhere: They are scattered throughout the bar, pool, and gym (you’re never far from a place to lounge).
9. Poolside Swings: As a "bouncing baby girl" at heart, I absolutely loved these.
10. Dining: The Red Lobster and Calamari dishes at the restaurant are standout meals.

- Fabian (10/5): -
- Rahma (9/5): - The facilities and the services inside the resort are exceptional It’s a little bit far from other places. How ever they provide a boat to cross over.
- Russel (10/5): Lovely owners who are engaging. - Privacy
- Gianluca Dolci (10/5): -
- Tairon (10/5): - Staff is really friendly! Specially the people working in the restaurant, bar and the boy at the pool. They are always very willing to help and make your stay special.
The place offers incredible views over the Mida creek. The swimming pool area is lovely, the garden is beautiful and well maintained.
The food is great, there are plenty delicious options that were well prepared and presented.
There is a boat transfer that is free to use between Lichthuis and the hotel, which is very convenient.
- Lars (4/5): Overpriced and dissappointed rooms / experience - definitely not a >7 experience. - Good location, clean, welcoming owner, nice ‘concept’ of sleeping under the stars, very good massages. Free boat trips too Watamu. Breakfast is very 1 star hotel, prices are absurt high (€250 coming from even €350) for a 3-star hotel. It also took at least 25 mins to prepare but we were the only guest.
Apart from the owner, there was lazy, uneducated and unsupported staff; not coordinating well, not cooperative, not taking initiative. Felt like we had to tell and guide them instead of the other way around.
Don’t book the lagoon room. We expected a proper Skyview after €250 payment for a 3 star hotel in a small town. The trees’ branches covered everything, and the light at the neighboring hotel disturbered the view and kept us awake (very uncozy).
Hotel beds need a renovation. Room have ‘sand’ floors. Meaning that you have to use a towel for your feet everytime you step into your bed. Matrasses are old and 1-start hotel quality.
- Martin (10/5): TRIP TO ROCK THE SEA - The privacy and quietness. The connection with nature.
Everything was amazing. The staff were exceptional.
- nevo (10/5): Better than expected on all levels ! - An exquisite location with brilliant staff and delicious food. Such a great find !
- Sonal (9/5): Perfect for unwinding and connect with nature and self. Great food! - The property is a very private/semi private natural oasis with modern facilities. It’s perfect to unwind, relax, eat and drink well.
Definitely try the crab- so fresh! Not a big negative since you will be outside during the day however the bubble tent can be very hot during the day.
- Pierre (9/5): - Stunning views, lovely salt water pool, very friendly staff, lovely breakfast, and we enjoyed relaxing on the hammocks overlooking Mida creek.
- Ronny (8/5): -

- Wim (10/5): - Prachtige resort, we zaten in imperial banda. Het was paradise. Zo mooi, ruim, verzorgd.
- Karin (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was incredibly nice. Really quiet and cozy place with lots of vegetation that made it a small leafy oasis. Great view from the restaurant which had very good breakfast and food and very good service.
The view and facilities in the room were unbeatable. We especially liked the net hammocks that hung out over the sea.
The pool area was great with very attentive and friendly staff serving towels and drinks. A boat was available whenever you wanted to go over to Watamu. Can't think of anything, will be happy to come back. :)
- Vivian (8/5): Very good -
- Mohsin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Valerio (10/5): Paradise in a paradise . Unique, relaxing . Is a place where you feel the vibes . The host and the stuff are amazing . T - It’s a paradise in a paradise . A beautiful gem ; a place where you feel the energy. Every room is unique and different , Infact we tried different rooms , one sea view and one in the bush . The host is amazing and go there is like to be in a honeymoon. The stuff extremely cordial and good , the food is better than 5 star Italian Michelin restaurant . Honestly, one of the best place ever . I like everything .
- Jessica (9/5): Gorgeous place to do nothing - The location is amazing, no one else around, a good time to fully relax and do nothing. The sunset is amazing. The bubble is fantastic as it’s something so unique to stay in. The sand on the floor of the bubble
- Tk (8/5): I absolutely loved the location, the jacuzzi and the pool. - The location The insects crawling around, my lady and I still have bite marks, part of the adventure I guess.
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent staff, great food and phenomenal views from our bedroom.
- Jay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Penny (10/5): Exceptional - The most amazing sunsets we have ever sren from the small bar area at the restaurant.
Peace and quiet, the perfect honeymoon destination.
Rooms really beautifully appointed and well designed. Nothing
- Bella (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nathanael (10/5): Exceptional - Food was amazing, best in that entire area. It was so quiet and peaceful and clear. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
- Kisbey-green (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the fact that it was so exclusive, and how the owner / manager was so involved and accessible. nothing
- Hafsa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louisa (10/5): Amazing! - The uniqueness of the resort, the beauty and serenity, not forgetting the amazing/hospitable staff. Food was absolutely lovely, and so were the cocktails 🍸.
The view from the bubble room at night was unimaginably great (watching the stars & full moon). The heat in the bubble room. It was extremely hot inside with not much ventilation.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Asghar (8/5): Excellent place to recouperate and relax with stunning views - Beautifully layout with and exceptional view of the Mida Creek from our Imperial Banda. Very Private and secluded, making it ideal to relax and recharge. Beautiful pool and facilities. The F&B went out of their way to make us feel at home with exceptional food and drink. All the staff are warm, welcoming and exceptionally helpful staff. I would highly recommend you visit.
- Jangmi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Inigo (10/5): Most beautiful location in Watamu - Incredible location with the best hospitality. I would highly recommend! Food was delicious with the high up panoramics views of the bay which are not to be missed at sunset.
- Paula (10/5): Exceptional - The resort is amazing and really peaceful. The location over the Mida Creek is fabulous with a fantastic view. Sleeping in the bubble is an unique experience, you can fall asleep watching the sky full of stars and be woken up by the sunrise.
The owner and the staff are very kind and helpful in everything.
We had a great time in Rock and Sea and we hope to come back soon.
- Dr. (10/5): The most beautiful destination of my lifetime!. - I liked everything Rock and Sea resort offered
- Nina (10/5): A magical getaway in the bush bubble, a treat for body and soul - A fantastic experience all round. We stayed in the Bush Bubble (the term 'tent' does not do the experience justice) and absolutely loved it. Everything is beautifully and very tastefully done. Flowers everywhere, lots of beautiful little details, lots of privacy, very attentive and friendly staff, and everything you could wish for is already present or swiftly provided. We woke up to the sight of monkeys in the trees above our bubble, went standup-paddling in the lagoon, enjoyed time by the pool, and ate at the restaurant. Stefano provides an SUP and a free rescue service by a very friendly and patient captain is available in case the current and/or wind make it impossible for you to return to the hotel under your own steam. The food was rather pricey (though delicious) and some more side salads would have been nice.
