A lovely surprise to have a bottle of wine and a tin of shortbreads provided .A small thing, but to have salt and pepper and oil would have been very welcome
• Chris (8/5): Cosy, comfortable and spacious. - It was well appointed and some goodies left for us the enjoy. The bedroom window didn’t close so had a noisey night with a machine running all night outside. A few maintenance issues which will be an easy fix.

• Sarah (8/5): Excellent location, spacious and modern - Lovely old building, apparently it used to be the old vicarage and is right next to a lovely old church that is now an excellent Italian restaurant. Very clean and furnished to a good quality. Very clean and modern Excellent location for everything in the city centre. Had to contact the host on arrival when I realised he hadn't sent the keycode details but he got straight back to us and was an excellent host. For the price and location I would definitely recommend this apartment. There's a strong smell of stale tobacco when you walk in the living room, think it's from the sofa. The bed is squeaky and we found the pillows and mattress quite uncomfortable. Shower hose was broken which caused the water to change from boiling hot to cold. The ice box in the fridge needs defrosting so no room to store anything frozen and it didn't close properly, causing the ice to melt into the fridge. Those minor points aside, a lovely spacious apartment.

• Michael (9/5): A great week based in Carlisle in this comfortable spacious flat. - Perfect location for travelling by train - only 5 mins walk from station and plenty of options for days out by train. Surrounded by places to eat, drink and shop. Quite a busy road but still quiet inside flat and at night. Found the lighting rather dim - us oldies need good lights to read by!! A bath and hand towel per person would be good and what we would expect in a holiday let and also at least one full toilet roll.

• Greg (6/5): - I found a standard apartment that has all the basics covered for a short stay while I was here There was some confusion around the cleaners turning up to clean the apartment. The host did inform me of why this was so with an explanation I at least understood why this hadn't happened but I had to turn up to a property round the corner and pick up new bed linen and do the cleaning myself. The apartment fortunately wasn't very messy and the past guests had made some attempt to keep the place clean but nonetheless it shouldn't be on the guest to do this for themselves

• Tracy (10/5): Fantastic Gem of an Apartment - Spacious apartment, great location. Lovely little touches with milk, cookies and a small bottle of prosecco. WiFi and alexa music easy to use. Overall very very good. There wasn't anything we didn't like, I prefer a divan type bed, but no complaints overall.

A washing machine which was handy for us with clothes rack for drying. Nothing really. Everything you need for pleasant stay. Bed not comfy for me - but that’s me. No soap or body wash provided in the bathroom

Reasonably priced also. - The location was perfect for us as we were staying there as had a wedding at The Halston hotel( across the road )it was also a perfect location for the train station & the City centre . The host was very helpful & welcoming with tea ,coffee ,milk & some Prosecco . The apartment had good facilities. We could not get the tele in living room to work but think it was just new batteries needed in remote & to be fair If we had been really bothered we could have made contact with the host as he had made it clear if we needed anything to call & we didn’t so not really a complaint just a comment. There wasn’t anything much else to say except more towels would have been nice as I like a bath towel & hand towel to wrap around my hair but there were only 2 bath towels .

Very thoughtful, left milk Prosecco and chocolates for our arrival. Very well situated with an easy reach of cafés bars and shops. Nothing.

• David (10/5): Excellent apartment - This is an excellent apartment situated in the heart of the city with shops, bars and several excellent restaurants within a very short walk. The apartment is spacious, and we found it clean and tidy on arrival. It has all the amenities that you would need for your stay. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. The WiFi was perfect for us and the TV and audio offering is first class and is delivered via a ‘smart box’. A washing machine (not used) would be a bonus for some visitors. Joe was a very helpful host, responding quickly to any questions that we had, and the welcome pack was a nice touch. We would highly recommend this apartment. Nothing, it was all great

• Ayrshire (10/5): A great stay at a lovely apartment in Carlisle. - Everything was perfect from start to finish. Thank you Joe. We will deff be back again. The apartment is located in a quiet part of town. Not far from train and bus stations. Carlisle has a good shopping with lots of places to eat and drink. Also some heritage. The apartment is great very big and lovely to relax in very clean and has everything you need. The host Joe goes out of his way to make you feel at home he leaves a box of of chocs and some wine which are lovely. And if you need anything just give him a call and he will help you. If you are ever going to Carlisle try the apartment you will be so happy you did. Honestly we both liked everything just wish we had been there for longer.

Along with added extra surprise of chocolate and procesco on check in really made the stay. Would highly recommend as the accommodation way exceeded my expectations for the price. Nothing couldn't fall it
• Karen (9/5): Superb - Absolutely fabulous, spacious flat, perfect for town, near everything, station, shops etc. Lovely and quiet as bedroom at back so no noise even on the weekend. All the tech, firestick, coffee maker. Brilliantly responsive owner, couldn't find hair dryer and he replaced it within the hour. Would deffo stay again. Possibly a couple more towels would be useful. (There's a washing machine but a bath and hand towel per person would be better)

• Amy (7/5): Overnight stay - Great location, lots of parking nearby. Even though it was on the main road, there was no road noise at night as the bedroom is at the back of the flat. Netflix on both TV's, the couch in the living room was nice and comfortable 👌 It could have been cleaner - the towels didn't smell fresh however they seemed to be clean. Some cobwebs in corners and on lampshades, but the flat was clean in general. Metal bed frame is a bit squeaky, but not uncomfortable.

• Issa (9/5): Really nice property in a good location - The apartment was much bigger than expected and everything was in really good condition and had everything needed. The location was good, in a road quieter than the rest of town (which we were grateful for) with places to eat near by. As we were there on a Sat-Sun, parking was easy as free across the road after 18.30. the owner was really responsive and helpful over text. Great check-out times! The laundry detergent used for towels/beddings was a bit overwhelming - it would be an issue for anyone sensitive to smell. Some local information would have been helpful and information on the TV options / how to use the streaming services would have been good.

• Stephen (9/5): Superb - Very central, very nice apartment and was the quietists apartment I've stayed in, would definitely recommend it to anyone who wanted to stay in Carlisle. The one snag was, we couldn't get the towel rail in the bathroom to come on .
• Simon (9/5): Relaxing and comfy, no hesitations going back - As the title says, it’s a spacious apartment and it’s close to the train station. Our train arrived 4 hours before check in and the owner kindly let us leave our bags at the apartment whilst the cleaners were getting it ready for us. 2 smart TVs stopped any arguments as to whether we should be watching drama or sport! The shower is classic old school i.e. very little water pressure, but that wasn’t a deal breaker.

Need a can opener, some smaller glasses (we bought two and left them there). No instructions as where to put rubbish/recycling. No local info brochures/pamphlets or info on takeaways etc. (we left some there). Parking a problem for a week stay. (possible to have a residents parking permit for guests ?)

Brilliant for an overnight stop on a longer journey. A moveable coffee table would have been useful, for cups or glasses while relaxing on the sofa, or watching television.

We were talking about when we would come back before we had even left! I liked everything. Wasn't sure what to do with the recycling, but we would have found somewhere to put it had we been there longer.

• Sofia (7/5): Good - The apartment is very spacious and located only 5 minutes from the train station, and within walking distance from the city centre. The bed was comfortable, and overall, everything was quite clean. The main problem for us was a strong smell of cigarette in the living room. After opening the windows, it got a bit better, but every time we were leaving the apartment for the day, with the windows closed, the smell was coming back. This was quite annoying also because we did our laundry and had to let our things dry in the living room, and so they ended up smelling of cigarette as well. Luckily, the bedroom was ok and we could have a comfortable sleep, but something should be done to solve this major problem.
