Guest Reviews

- Roger (9/5): -
- Pragliola (10/5): - Staff were very friendly, the evening meal was very good. It would have been nice to have the option for a cooked breakfast. However what is provided in your room in the way of a continental breakfast is more than adequate.
- Will (9/5): Well positioned, lovely staff and very quiet. Just what you need for a good night. - Next door to a good pub with lovely food! Staff were super, couldn’t do enough for us. Room was spacious, clean and quiet. Not sure about the continental breakfast, would have preferred something cooked.
Similarly the bath. A walk in shower is much easier for us now.
- Tim (10/5): Ship Ship Hooray - 5 Star - Great pub with great food, accomodation was in a separate building. Good bed and shower and food in the fridge to munch. Some very interesting wildlife around from chickens, ducks and rabbits. Everything was perfect
- Kris (9/5): -
- Tamsin (10/5): Great place, friendly staff (thank you Michelle) would definitely recommend - Great room, lovely and clean, great facilities
- Wendy (10/5): - Location. Hot water. Hot bath or shower. Comfy bed. Beautiful surroundings. The owner a lovely man who showed my grandson and I all the animals and baby chicks. All fine.
- Mrs Jacoba (8/5): Great place to stay and very convenient - Well cooked food, good ambience and the room was very quiet.
- Jane (10/5): Great place! - Lovely place, clean to a high standard. A very warm welcome on arrival. Rooms spacious, lovely bathroom with shower & bath. Ideally placed for where we needed to be. Lovely grounds with chickens running loose. Couldn't fault it!
- John (10/5): - Most things Duvet was hot! Birds were loud, but hardly the hotels fault 😁
- Booth (8/5): Very nice stay meeting up with friends. - Was further out of Beverley (3-4 miles) and further still to Beverley racecourse than we had expected. Nice friendly staff and nice ordinary pub. We were once again given a disabled room despite not needing one. The wet room is not meant for able bodied people as most of your shower water goes under the curtain and floods the room. We have had this before so didnt use it this time. Clean room, nice breakfast stuff left in room and nice outlook with rabbits and bantams running around at the back. Nice place but would get something nearer town or racecourse next time.
- Lucy (10/5): An excellent overnight stop - Staff were lovely, and we also had an excellent dinner in the restaurant. The provided continental breakfast in the bedrooms were very good. Nothing
- Ogodo (10/5): -
- Wendy (8/5): Ship inn stay - Loved room and how quiet it was got amazing night's sleep Continental breakfast not good not a fan as a chef I prefer cooked breakfast pub doesn't serve food after 7.30 had to go find fast food at burger king like wise for breakfast TV too small and needs to connected to Internet.. WiFi had to ring pub for password needs to be in room so say was nice but basic add cooked breakfast at pub and would be 10/10
- Phil (10/5): Excellent accommodation. - Superb accommodation with comfortable beds and very tasteful decor. Excellent breakfast available with a wide range of options. Staff were very friendly and pleasant in their warm greeting. Quiet at night with no traffic noise despite being close to transport network. The food in the pub was terrific. We highly recommend this hotel. Nothing
- Lindsey (10/5): - Everything was better than I could expect. The breakfast was greatly appreciated
- Ruth (10/5): Lovely place - Lovely room, lots of storage space and the subtle nautical theme was great, there are seahorses carved into the bed! Also breakfast in the room (with milk and juice in a mini fridge) was a great idea. There was also a bath, which was nice. Staff were very helpful, also the accommodation is set well back from the pub and the road. It's very quiet and peaceful. Comy bed. All in all, a perfect stay!
- Peter (10/5): Excellent venue, staff, facilities, food and value for money - Everything Nothing
- Susan (9/5): -
- tony (8/5): -
- Miriam (8/5): A warm and friendly welcome and a clean and comfortable room. - Location and the no pressure approach to breakfast The radiator needed bleeding
- Shannon (10/5): - I stayed here for a job interview. I got the job. No complaints.
- steve (10/5): -
- John (10/5): Just right for a stop-over or short stay. - The fixtures in the room were excellent, the worktop was a sensible size for doing things on. the WiFi was superb, it looked as though it was a dedicated router for our romm. Not much. The food in the Pub was great. Staff very friendly. All good.
- Dan (9/5): -
- Debbie (9/5): Relaxing comfortable and a very pleasant place to stay - Breakfast was adequate. Food was great.
Staff were absolutely wonderful Nothing
- Sue (7/5): Basic clean accommodation. Served our purpose. - Booked bed & breakfast thinking breakfast would be served in the pub. Basically breakfast is a semi continental served in your room. On arrival staff were a little off hand when we ordered drinks at the bar before checking in.
- Mark (9/5): -
- martyn (10/5): Booked last minute did not disappoint ! - Continental breakfast was absolutely fine. Very nice area There was nothing we didn't like . Everything was perfect
- Mark (9/5): -
- Jayne (10/5): Perfect and in good close proximity to Beverley. Very cosy pub with real fires burning . - Lovely property. Everything was just what we wanted. Just a few more lights outside leading to the accommodation from the carpark at night but that’s my only criticism
- ANDREW (6/5): Thumbs up for the pub, food and welcome. Room, not what I hoped for. - Accommodation next to a pleasant pub with. Good food. Staff were helpful and friendly. Room was pretty sparse with no character.
- Michael (9/5): Great, unexpected delight! - Excellent breakfast, room had everything we needed, was clean and great having the pub Plug needed by beds to charge phone
- Sandi (7/5): Comfortable, convenient accommodation - Proximity to my brother’s house and ease of access.
Friendly bar staff and check in check out routine.
Fruit and tea/coffee was much appreciated. There was a strange smell in the bathroom - maybe chemical tablets in the drain?
The breakfast was a bit stale and unhealthy. A porridge pot might be nice.
- Tamsin (9/5): Great place to stay. Highly recommend. - Lovely warm room. Good shower and lit mirror above the sink. Decent hairdryer! Lots of sockets near the bedroom mirror. Great continental breakfast. Really friendly staff and fabulous food in the pub. Would stay again! No sockets near the bed.
- Helen (9/5): -
- Timothy (10/5): -
- Sarah (9/5): Enjoyable stay for a nearby wedding - Met by a really lovely lady who took us to our room personally. The area has alot of wildlife which I loved. Room clean and good size with everything we needed. Bed really comfortable Could have done with an iron and there was a damp smell around head board but it didn't affect our stay
- Christopher (9/5): -
- patricia (10/5): - Friendly staff. Good accommodation Could do with a better menu.
- Mark (10/5): Nice place, staff very friendly - It was in the right place to where we needed to be Nothing
- Jacqueline (7/5): -
- Rachel (10/5): Delightful in Dunswell - Very friendly hosts &, spacious accommodation. , with plenty of storage space. Lovely beer garden with free-range chickens The bed mattress is a bit firm but that's down to person preference.
- Neville (8/5): -
Molto molto scorretti.
- Sharnjeet (10/5): -
- Jamie (10/5): -
- ann denise (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed the three days - Breakfast fine, room clean and comfortable
Food good, staff very friendly Nothing
- North (8/5): -
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (10/5): Excellently situated with very good facilities. - Very good accommodations, well appointed. Nothing to dislike.
- Fiona (8/5): Would stay again when visiting relatives in Hull. - Good location; quiet; pleasant view from window; clean; firm bed; continental breakfast provided; generally well-appointed. Friendly, efficient check-in/out process. Lots of parking space. Noisy hum from fridge. Bed linen clean but a bit ‘tired’.
- Frieda (9/5): A great night away to attend a meeting in Cottingham - Even though the pub is on a busy road the accommodation is much further back so we didn’t hear the traffic Nothing to dislike
- Andrew (7/5): Good - The accommodation is clean, well maintained and in a separate building to the bar. So nice and quiet.
Friendly and welcoming.
- Michael (8/5): Did the job well. - Breakfast was continental but as a diabetic couldn’t have soft drink and yoghurt.
- Steven (10/5): Couple night away. - The staff were helpful and informative about the local area. The pub was excellent and the room was well equipped. The fridge in the room was so appreciated for cold drinks etc. Unfortunately we stayed in one of England's hottest days so the room really needed a fan as there were only a top window that opened.
- Graham (9/5): Superb -
- Eileen (8/5): Enjoyable relaxing stay again in this welcoming country pub - Spacious room in courtyard buildings with continental breakfast provided in room. Beer garden. Friendly country pub with helpful staff and good food.
- Gillian (9/5): Superb - L9vely location quiet but so close to everything. Easy check in, warm hosts,.comfortable rooms and good facilities Nothing really
- Trevor (8/5): A racing trip - Quite close to Beverley at a reasonable cost -
- John (9/5): It’s a 12 out of 10 a big thank you ❤️❤️🤪 - Room lovely chickens and Donkeys wow what a lovely surprise location excellent thank you for a lovely stay will recommend to our friends ❤️
- Anthony (10/5): A extremely well run clean and well positioned property run by a fantastic team - EVERYTHING !!!! Nothing!!!
- Suebdoo (9/5): Lovely stay in The Ships Quarters. - Lovely old characterful pub.
Warm welcome. Friendly staff.
Meals; pub grub, freshly made, served hot, good portion size & value for money.
Purpose built accommodation at the back, clean & well maintained. Large outdoor green space, overlooking fields.
Great location for Beverley & beyond. One mile away from a large retail park with multiple shopping facilities.
As we are regularly in Beverley we have booked two more stays at The Ship Inn. Could use a seating area, eg., 2 chairs in the room we stayed in.
- Anthony (9/5): Great value and a friendly welcome - Excellent location just outside Hull. Very friendly staff and the whole experience was great value
- Phil (10/5): Great stay - will use again if needed - Comfortable quiet rooms
- Bedford (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (4/5): Continental con at a high price. - Comfortable room, nice and clean. So called continental breakfast was in the room on arrival ( a pastry in a plastic container with a banana) Small print in advert should be read with care.
- Walker (10/5): Very good clean and had everything I needed local to my home - Breakfast was ok and satisfactory for my needs. The location was good central to where I was going I was satisfied with all Got some bad news at 5 am that one of my dogs was dying so all was good until I had to leave
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - Very welcoming staff Nothing
- Ray (9/5): Superb -
- Michele (10/5): Exceptional -
- Craig (10/5): Amazing staff, very good value for money. - The welcome was very warm. We were shown to our room and told everything we needed to know. The staff here really are great. We had drinks in the beer garden which was lovely. Everything was perfect
- David (8/5): A convenient comfortable and reasonable priced stopover on our route further north - The continental breakfast, served in the room, provided good value for money, and made it easier to get away quickly in the morning, as did the key deposit box, thus avoiding queuing at a reception desk.
The room was immaculate. We enjoyed the evening bar meal in the cosy surroundings.
Plenty of parking on site. The disadvantage of the prepacked continental breakfast was that there was no choice and it was, for our tastes, rather sweet. It also meant you didn't engage with any staff, so a bit impersonal.
A minor inconvenience was that google maps said we had arrived at our destination at another pub (with similar coloured rendering on the walls) down the road!
- Mandy (5/5): Disapointing - not what was promised on the description - Did not live up to the description - clean and bed comfy but souless , a mix of trying to be luxury and low end - shower curtain and bad bath panel but nice tiles …. ‘Garden view’ was 2 metres of grass , 2metre hedge and people wandering past to get work stuff …. Continental breakfast promised was an already in the room pan chocolat , banana , yoghurt and cereal 🙁
- Laurence (7/5): Very friendly people and good room - Donkeys and chickens roaming loose Continental breakfast was ok but was hoping for a full English 😜
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabethm1973 (10/5): Warm, friendly, peaceful relaxing place to stay. - Really lovely lady behind bar gave us a warm welcome. The room was perfect, bed really comfortable, outside view a field with cute bunnies and chickens wandering around. The continental breakfast was perfect and I preferred it to sitting down to a cooked breakfast. The pub is really nice but we only stayed for a drink.
I would definitely stay again, regular buses straight into Beverley, very peaceful and I was very happy with our stay. Excellent business 👏 Nothing, wasn't looking and didn't see anything to moan about.
- Gregory (10/5): Perfect - Just cosy room warm home feeling Nothing
- Debbie (8/5): Really comfortable - Nice quiet location and breakfast worked well. Making clear food being served in bar stops at 7:30 on arrival might be useful even though it is stated in the room info.
- Dave (8/5): Very good -
- Hannah (7/5): Comfortable stay for 1 night. - Good size room and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Cot was provided and set up. Located on site of a lovely local pub with cozy fires and friendly atmosphere, providing great food. Quiet area, great night sleep, warm and cozy in the room. It was easy to check in and out. There were cobwebs in the room on the walls and in bathroom in different places. I found the breakfast selection very limited in terms of food, drink options were ok, though a few more tea bags and coffee sachets would have been a lot better. We had to tune in the television before we could use it. The towel rail didn't work in the bathroom, therefore the bathroom was freezing cold in the night.
- David (8/5): Good location, clean and tidy room - Good location, clean and tidy room
- Jane (7/5): good for a short stay - Location was good, close to Beverley. Room was clean and warm. Free Wifi , Pub staff were friendly. packed breakfast was much better than most. Wish they served evening meals.
- Sue (8/5): Great place for an overnight stay whilst visiting friends and relatives over Christmas - Convenient location, clean and comfortable room, friendly locals at the bar Nothing we didn't like but would have been nice to have a cooked breakfast
- Jean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (8/5): Enjoyed the room, the location was very good for the function we went to. - The breakfast was good, it was a continental breakfast in the rooms. The bed was very comfy. The facilities in the rooms were very good. For my own personal preference I would have preferred a firmer pillow instead of the soft ones provided. I drink decaf tea and coffee but unfortunately they only did coffee. I asked for decaf tea but they didn't do them.
- Christopher (8/5): Very good -
- Makarita (10/5): The breakfast in the room was lovely and everything we needed. - Continental breakfast was included and lovely to have a small fridge. It was a lovely cosy place. Secured parking in the evening, and a nice pub. It's on a farm and was lovely to see donkeys in the morning. NO answer
- Angela (6/5): Disappointing and annoying. - Clean, modern, well kept, spacious. Too cold on arrival and was unable to make the bathroom warm enough to have a bath.
Mis-leading ad said “breakfast included”. This was ‘in room’ continental style’ which, whilst well meaning was not what persuaded me to book. There was nowhere to get a dinner or breakfast on site.
- Gill (8/5): Value for money, comfortable and close to Beverley. - Friendly helpful staff
Good facilities and good range of drinks and snacks. I cant think of anything I didn't like
- Lisa (10/5): Excellent value - Room very clean & comfortable and the staff were friendly & helpful. Nothing
- Lynndieloo (10/5): Hoist the main sail we have a winner - beautiful old fashioned pub with amazing rooms for a very comfortable nights stay.
I liked how breakfast was left in the room for us to enjoy at our leisure. nothing
- Graham (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly welcoming staff and clientele. Very relaxing and convenient for my destination.
