Guest Reviews
- Jeffrey (10/5): - The host she was exceptionally nice .did everything well. Very charming and helpful to all our needs .and the breakfast was very good ..
- Marta (10/5): Wonderful. We loved meeting Tety and staying at her house. - What it was the best of the place was, absolutely Tety! She is an amazing woman full of good energy ready to share with her guests. We had a very special conexion and we felt exactly like if we were at home. She has a very nice wood house and a very nice garden where you can relax any time and feel like home. You can use the fridge to keep your cold drinks and she is ready to offer you what ever you need. I hope more people is as lucky as us that they get to know her. If we ever come back to Flores we will, for sure, come and visit her again. Everything was perfect.
- Jochen (10/5): Genial - Tety ist ein Unikat der Insel. Die Unterkunft muss im Verhältnis zur Kultur und dem Preis gesetzt werden. Daher alles super.
Danke Tety 🙏

- Matthias (10/5): Einfaches, ruhig gelegenes, tolles Homestay - Alles. Total chillig und ruhig. Super nette Gastgeberin.
- Marc (9/5): - Very nice homestay in a neighborhood a little outside of the center of Labuan Bajo. Amazing host with charming cats and a very well taken care of and comfortable courtyard. We enjoyed delicious breakfast, Tety's helpful suggestions and long walks exploring the less touristic areas of Labuan Bajo. A great place to go if you want to see more than just the Harbour area and want to get an impression of life in a normal neighborhood.

- Maaike (10/5): Heel bijzonder - Tety is gold! That I couldn't bring the kitten to Amsterdam...
- Sascha (10/5): Everything was perfect 🤩 - We spent 4 days with Tety. Everything was perfect. We can only confirm what other reviews have said: Tety is a wonderful person – super kind and helpful. She supports you with everything and gives excellent tips on where to go, what to do, etc.
The accommodation is perfect. It’s very, very clean, there’s plenty of storage space, two mirrors, and multiple power outlets. The Wi-Fi also worked very well. Things you should know – but honestly, with so many positive aspects, these are really minor:
1. Since you're in the middle of the local neighborhood, roosters start crowing early in the morning.
2. The road to the apartment is a bit rough (but totally fine if you're comfortable riding a motorbike). And in the worst case, you can always park the bike and walk the last 50 meters on foot – it's flat.
But better nature sounds than scooter noise. And by Tety you will not hear any other noises than animals.
- Eugene (9/5): Safe, quiet, relaxed and very helpful place to stay. - Tety was great and helped me book a boat tour and even pick out some local restaurants. I didn't realize she had lived in Florida for several years but explains her English skills. The stay was quiet and uneventful, they even picked me up at the airport so I didn't have to deal with the taxi's hunting for lost tourists!!! I wanted to visit the waterfalls and she found me a great deal on a car and driver. The round trip plus hiking time to visit the waterfalls was about 4 hours and the final costs was ~ $40 USD. In the USA it would of been $300 or $400 for that cab or Uber fare. I'll plan to stay here again the next time I visit.
- Monika (5/5): It could be nice with a little more effort - Ibu Tety was very friendly. The main house has beautiful furniture. The terrace is nice and the cats are very friendly and cuddly. My room was large. When my son stored smelly squid in the fridge for fishing bait Ibu Tety had somebody clean the fridge (and asked only Rp 50.000 for it). The neighbour turned on his music so loud, that the glass in the window rattled. Ibu Tety was not willing to go over together with us to complain, because she said it wouldn't make any difference. She had tried before. So my son and I had to go there alone twice and argue with the neighbour to turn it down. Both of us speak Indonesian. The second time the neighbour wanted to start a fight and was only held back by his son. I told her that the right way would be to complain to the RT, who works for the mayor, but she said that there was no point (without having tried it).
The road to the house is in such bad condition that we nearly had an accident and I hurt my leg badly. After that experience I rather walked the last bit.
Because of problems with the electricity we were only allowed to either use the shower or the air conditioning. So every time we wanted to use water from the tap or for the toilet/bidet we had to go outside and switch on the water pump before.
We had agreed on Rp. 200.000 for the gas, because we wanted to use the kitchen. However, in the end Ibu Tety asked for Rp. 500.000, because we had turned on the light and the ventilator in the kitchen and used the washing machine twice (with our own detergent).
The room where my son slept is tiny and has very little space to store clothes. I couldn't open the window in my room. When I arrived in my room there were still clothes from somebody else in the cupboard, and some stuff in the drawers of the writing table.
The bathroom was populated with lots of small grey beetles that crawled out of every nook and cranny. Ok, it is rainy season, and I had been living in Indonesia for years, so I know about the fauna there, but every time you wanted to take a shower I had to clean it first, otherwise I would have stepped on them.
Last not least: We had booked (and paid up front) for two weeks. Not once our bed sheets or towels were changed, nobody came in for cleaning.
- Catrine (9/5): Peaceful place in Labuan Bajo, calm and relaxing - The property is a little out of the centre so having a scooter to get around is ideal - it was quiet and peaceful but above all Tety is an amazing person, very helpful and knowledgeable - trust her to get the best for your needs
The accommodation was simple but comfortable with a clean shared bathroom - the walls are thin so not a lot of privacy with the adjoining room but not an issue for us as we were a group of 4
Her cats are absolutely gorgeous, including the little kittens and very well looked after
Tety is a caring and beautiful person - packed us breakfast for our boat trip and cooked us a delicious breakfast the next day which we had in the main house The road for the last 50 metres to the property is in terrible condition and being a little out of town can be an issue but it wasn’t for us - no early morning mosque calling!!
- Nathalie (10/5): Beautiful stay with loving staff (=Tety) and amazing surroundings! - Tety's stay is recommended 10/10!!!!
She is just the sweetest, funniest, most caring person.
She helps you out with every problem or concern that may occur! And you feel that she really does that by heart and with loving care!
The breakfast she cooked for us was filling and delicious.
She orders a high end scooter for you on demand, for a reasonable price and very quickly!
And she also offers a Taxi service herself, for example to the airport!
The room and bathroom were blinkingly clean, you would not find one piece of dust there!
And her cats also are so sweet and cute!
We would love to see Tety again sometime 🥰 Not one negative thing to mention here!!!!
- Anas8123 (9/5): Amazing Villa with Super nice host - The wooden villa is well maintained, and all the facilities are working well. The host Ibu Tety is an amazing person, very helpful, and she has 3 adorable cats. She made a super delicious Ayam rica2, and prepared our early bfast before we went for the boat trip. Laundry and motor rent available with affordable price. I have no issue with the villa, just fyi for others, location is not in the city centre but the town itself is quite small, it's a short 10mins ride from the villa to the center. The rooster in the morning might be annoying but it's also good so you can wake up early and do outdoor activities. Don't miss the sunrise hike at Bukit Sylvia also 12mins ride.
- Sebastiaan (10/5): Don't hesitate just book! - Tety is wonderful! Amazing source of help for all things in and around Labuan Bajo. Laundry, scooter rental, contacts for boat trips, making dinner she can do it all!
Her lovely trio of cats made it even nicer. Also close to the mirror cave and local market. Good food in warungs nearby. The room was clean, spacious. Shower was warm, and had a proper shower cabin! AC worked well. Bit farther away from LBJ centre but with a scooter it's max 10mins.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Tety was very helpful , the Cave's just a few minutes away. The road
- Olena (6/5): Charming house with lovely owner, but cost too expensive as for the quality of the place - Tety, the owner, is a very pleasant person with many tips and ideas to share! Her house is very charming and has almost all the basics for a short stay. Breakfasts were lovely and delicious. Overall prices in this region are higher than in europe, so for a quite high price you are getting a very basic stay. I.e., in Tety's house laundry cost more than in Paris center. You also might want to take your own soap (shower gel, etc.) and toilet paper and be prepared for colonies of ants in the shower. Probably the other places have even lower money to quality ratio, so i would not discourage you from staying here.
- Alexander (10/5): Best host of all Indonesia - Lovely host who plans and arranges all trips for you, best experience anywhere in Indonesia so far and she speaks very good English. Thumbs up Air-condition can fight the limited insulation of the room and depending on the room you may hear a clicking noise of the pump, which can be switched off, but on the downside you don't have any water more
- Georgia (8/5): Enjoyable and mostly good experience ( couldn’t get a 2nd night there so Tety helped us find another hotel and drove us! - Tety was lovely and couldn’t help enough - close to good cheap Warung Far from beach and no poor
- Matthieu (10/5): Thanks a lot for Tety’s kindness and hospitality, she helps us a lot to organize our trip in Flores, advised suggestions -
- Erica (10/5): An amazing and attentive host made the trip worthwhile! - Tety is such a gem!! She was such a wonderful and attentive host, and I’m so glad to have found her villas. The villas are in an intimate setting, so you have plenty of space and privacy. Tety was very accommodating with making our breakfast anytime we needed it, and when I was sick, she helped to drive me to the clinic. There’s also some very wonderful and cute cats that I loved playing with during my stay. The property is a bit far from the Main Street and harbor, but grab drivers can come and pick you up from the villa. I liked being a bit removed from the noisier downtown.
- Ptruscott (8/5): Very good -
- Johanna (10/5): Exceptional - We had a really nice stay in Tety's Wooden Village.
It is located a bit outside of the city which is quite nice as it is relaxed and the city is only 10min away by scooter.
The room was big and clean with a comfy bed and AC and a private bathroom with a hot shower .
Tety welcomed us warmly and helped us with everything like renting a scooter, recommending nice spots and even lent us her snorkeling gear. Thanks for the lovely time! We would definitely come back.
James & Johanna
- Manon (10/5): Friendly and chill - Tety was a really adorable and helpful host, thank you! X
