Guest Reviews
- TOLGA (10/5): Atmospheric and Cozy - Location, staff and interior design
Breakfast
- AKIYOSHI (9/5): -
- Jeffrey (7/5): - Attentive professional staff Noise level very loud from music club next door every night until 1.30am. Road traffic high in weekends. Difficult to mitigate is such a historic building.
- Doga (9/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): Incredible stay - Wonderful little hotel in the heart of Canakkale! Room was clean and comfortable with an amazing little balcony looking over the Dardanelles. The breakfast was outstanding and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Will be coming back! Nothing
- Lutz (8/5): We enjoyed it very much and would stay there again, but next time with earplugs :) - Cute place and one of the very first Hotels in the town, since over 100 years. Even Mr. Schliemann doing the first Excravations in Troja stayed there :)
Staff is very friendly, caring and gives reliable advice.
The location is great, near the water and even with a small balcony and view to the water.
And good breakfast! It can be quite noisy at nights due to city-life on the lower road.
- ERIN (10/5): - Location and the excellent help and attention by staff. Many thanks.
- David (4/5): If you want to sleep don’t stay here - Quaint and good location. Nice staff Ridiculously noisy. Night club very close by with sound so loud you couldn’t sleep
- Pedro (9/5): Nice and cosy place to stay. The location is great and the staff very helpful. - The breakfast is great. If you like a a traditional, clean and cosy place to stay, this is ideal. Nothing
- Roberto (10/5): -
- Karen (8/5): -
- Vicki (10/5): Beautiful place to stay - As per my previous review. We booked an extra room for our son. An excellent place to stay
- Julie (10/5): Julie - Location, the Hotel is beautiful and the staff very friendly Recommendation - If you are staying over a weekend and not a party animal, take some ear plugs for sleeping.
- Vicki (10/5): An exceptional Hotel - Absolutely loved this authentic hotel right in the heart of the town. Easy access to the ferry and shops and restaurants. The staff were amazing very attentive to our every need. Nothing was a problem for them. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
As per previous reviews the hotel is situated close to bars so the noise is out of their control. The noise would not deter me from staying there again.
This hotel exceeded my expectations. Loved everything about it
- Karen (10/5): -
- Jennifer Joyce (10/5): Great Türkiye hospitality in Canakkale. - Yusef is the most friendly, caring, hospitable and knowledgeable host that you could possibly wish for. This small hotel is in a great spot, next to the water and in a vibrant part of Canakkale. We loved our stay here! Nothing
- James (7/5): Comfortable hotel with a great location and friendly staff - Great location - in the heart of all the action in town. Walking distance to the Trojan horse statue and surrounded by restaurants and bars
Lovely breakfast and really helpful and friendly staff Due to the location - it can get a little noisy over the weekend
- COLIN (9/5): Perfect hotel in the heart of vibrant Chanakkale. Close to so many restaurants and cafes and right on the water. Perfect - Beautiful little boutique hotel right in the centre of everything. Views were awesome and staff so welcoming and friendly. Great breakfast. Aircon struggled to cool the room. Fridge in room could’ve been colder. It is close to some local bars that can be noisy but earplugs sorts that out.
- Okay (10/5): Bei nächster Reise würde ich wieder buchen - Sehr Sauber sehr nettes personal schöne Ausstattung Lage des Hotel zur Fuß alles erreichbar
- Taus (9/5): Perfect -
- Sabrina (9/5): - Bellissimo boutique hotel, in zona centralissima.
- GEORGIE (10/5): A fabulous local hotel with the best service you can ever imagine. - THE most amazing staff and service we have ever experienced anywhere. Nothing was too much trouble. Friendly kind helpful and just wonderful people. The location is perfect in the centre of town and close to the port. A little noisy on a weekend night but that’s what you get for a great central location. Air conditioning not very powerful .
- Franz (10/5): -
- Goran (8/5): Very good -
- Dogan (10/5): Zehra Hanim and the staff is very communicative and helpful - The location is excellent. The service of personnel was exceeding. N/A
- Clinton (2/5): Very poor - Great location for restaurants and tourist activities and nightlife. NOISE! Along with that location comes nightlife noise until 2 am. Don't expect to sleep until then. Restored old building getting a bit tired.
- Kate (9/5): Superb - Great location for the old town and seafront - but poor location in respect of the noise (it was very noisy until the early hours). Great staff, really friendly and chatty. Lovely character in the hotel and room. Nice little balcony with sea view and sun in the afternoon evening. Fresh and tasty breakfast. Some issues due to location but it was still a nice olace to stay and good to be able to wander the town day or evening. The room was noisy on a night. There are bars a few doors down. That noise was less intrusive than the bins in the small square being emptied at 3 am though.
The AC unfortunately fails to cool the room effectively and is also noisy. Extremely light curtains.
- Jeffery (8/5): Very good -
- Talya (2/5): Very disappointing - not much no hot water the fridge light flashed all night the bathroom stank the sink was broken and so was the tap very poor and the bathroom was dirty
- Peter (7/5): Good - Great old building in the middle of the old town. Convenient for everything and lots of good restaurants nearby. Being in the middle of the town it is noisy at night as you would expect. Also some maintenance issues.
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - Quaint seaside view in the heart of KANNAKALE
- Peter (9/5): Superb - The staff were really wonderful, friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were a real feast. The hotel location was also excellent. The rooms had a wonderful character, but may need a little refresh.
- Vanessa (8/5): Very good - Authentic stay in a great part of Çanakkale. Wonderful breakfast. Great staff.
- Ross (9/5): The hotel was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful - the only downside was the noise from the nearby club - Great location , very friendly staff and the best breakfast ever ! The noise from the pubs / clubs was really loud at night
- Emma (10/5): Beautiful traditional hotel in the heart of Cannakale - Such a lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Cannakale. Our delightful room had a little balcony and a great view overlooked the water. Breakfast was a highlight with the hosts being exceptional. We stayed here to attend the Anzac service which was very easy to get to via ferry and bus. We would highly recommend a stay at this lovely hotel.
- Hristo (9/5): Superb -
- Ronald (9/5): Superb - This charming boutique hotel is truly a gem. The furniture and decor are elegant, reflecting thoughtful attention to detail. The husband-and-wife owners are passionate about their business and provide exceptional service, complemented by the helpful and polite night clerk. The daytime clerk was equally outstanding, offering invaluable information that enhanced our stay. Breakfast was a highlight, featuring a delicious assortment of local produce. Convenient parking is available nearby.
While the windows face a bustling street, the cheerful nighttime ambiance surprisingly doesn’t disrupt a good night’s sleep. The staff went above and beyond by recommending and arranging a fantastic tour for us. Overall, a delightful experience!
- Heidi (9/5): Superb - Great location, hosts were very nice, breakfast was superb.
- Kilian (9/5): A great historical small hotel to explore the area. - A very nice historical small hotel in the heart of Cannakale (the city's oldest hotel in fact). Very convenient location near the ferry, shops and museums. Cozy rooms and nice breakfast. The staff has been the great highlight of my stay, with a very helpful owner and night receptionist. They did everything to cater my needs, helped me rent a car and provided great conversation. Sound from nearby discos is a bit annoying especially on Friday/Saturday. But they did close at 2am.
- Lucinda (9/5): Superb -
- Simon (9/5): Superb -
- Ken (9/5): Loved it - Breakfast was very tasty. The area is very central. It is right opposite a nightclub but I fell asleep as soon as head was on the pillow each night. Used the reasonably priced laundry service.
Staff were really helpful. It helped that several spoke English VERY well. Wouldn't have minded the ability to have a tea or coffee in the room
- Sarah (10/5): I highly recommend this characterful and friendly hotel - Beautiful hotel that was everything we needed and more. The hotel staff were so friendly and accommodating- it was like staying with family. The breakfast was delicious and very vegetarian-friendly. The rooms are nicely decorated and the bathrooms are very pleasant. The hotel is in the heart of the city. The hotel owners obviously care about their guests and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. As some other reviewers have noted, something to consider may be that the seafront can get a little noisy at night. However, this is typical for a hotel in such a central location and it would not stop me staying here again.
- Pınar (7/5): Good -
- Paula (8/5): Lovely hotel seconds from the sea, and the area is very beautiful. - The staff and owners were really lovely and made us feel extremely welcome. Breakfast was fabulous and the hotel is full of character. Unfortunately nothing the owners can do about it but the nightclubs behind the hotel were noisy until 2am. The back rooms in particular were affected.
- Raluca (7/5): Good -
- Juliet (8/5): Historical hotel. - Great location, excellent staff, interesting hotel, great breakfast Street noise all night, bathroom very average, very bright light from the fridge, hard bed, would of liked a top sheet.
- Kristina (8/5): Boutique stay in Canakkale. - Beautiful presentation, sooo pretty and wonderful breakfast. Was very warm as air con didn't work and can be noisy at night for sleeping.
- Gordon (8/5): Very good -
- Simona (10/5): Exceptional - The owner was really friendly, so kind. The breakfest excelent, the view amasing. Just beside the sea. From the balcony I can see the sea. The hotel is really cute. A little bit small room. Refrigerator could be better, because now in the really hot weather the drinks are not cold.
- Nathalie (8/5): Wonderful boutique hotel, excellent location and service - Amazing location right in the center and on the water front. Excellent service and hospitality from the staff and owners, delicious breakfast. Our room was not sound proof (windows not double glazed) and we did not sleep at all as there is a nightclub directly infront/next to the hotel. Music was vibrating our room.
- Julia (8/5): Excellent location in historic small hotel close to the waterfront! - Excellent breakfast. And the building has lovely period charm!
- Abuelo (10/5): The owners went above and beyond to make us feel at home. He even drove us to the bus station without us asking. - Beautiful and excellent. The air conditioning did not cool the room down enough.
- Rajesh (9/5): Superb -
- Rob (7/5): Great people - Location. Lady did a great job on our washing. Noise from street at night.
- Laurel (8/5): Very good - Excellent location. A little noisy at night but that’s because it’s in a central location so it didn’t bother us. Parking is right across the street - very easy to get to. Lovely views. Very attentive staff. Good breakfast.
- John (9/5): This hotel is a beautiful place to stay. - This little boutique hotel is beautiful. The furniture and decor are superb. The husband and wife who own and run the hotel are very passionate about their business and do a great job. The night clerk was also very helpful and polite. Unfortunately for the hotel, some young people driving passed at night were a bit noisy.
- Cathy (8/5): Very good -
- Julie (9/5): Superb - Great location close to all the restaurants and bars.
Hotel was lovely and everyone was helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was delicious.
- Stephen (9/5): We were happy - Central to our needs Noisy at night amongst the bars
- Stephen (8/5): Central to most things - Central for our needs to travel and night life Can be noisy
- Kristina (8/5): Very good - Delicious breakfast, helpful staff, convenient beds. Right next to the hotel on the back rooms there are bars with life music and very loud noise until 1am
- Wynand (9/5): Superb -
- Francesco (10/5): Excellent stay in a cozy and beautiful historical hotel. A real jewel. - The breakfast was a collection of local produce. All extremely good and fresh. Overall, this is a small hotel, extremely well restored and well run by friendly owners and staff. They recommended us a fantastic restaurant nearby. We loved this place and we would come again if we visit the region in the future. Nothing specifically, all was very good. The hotel is right in the center of the town and there might be some traffic, but if you have a car there's a parking lot just in front.
- Kaori (3/5): Very disappointed - Location is good I couldn’t get hot water. It was not very warm I asked the staff but he just said just wait and wouldn’t listen to me.
Wifi was very weak.
The bar next door was very loud so it kept us stop sleeping.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful hotel right in the city centre. Staff are very friendly and the breakfasts are excellent.
- Robert (10/5): Ideal location - city center, close to the pier, fortress and embankment - If you want to spend 1-2 days in the city, this hotel is the best choice. Ideal location - city center, close to the pier, fortress and embankment. There is convenient parking nearby. The hotel itself is charming in its design and personal approach to guests. The breakfasts are impeccable. The windows overlook a busy street, but for some reason the cheerful night noise from the street does not particularly interfere with a good night's sleep.
Mr & Mrs Beer
- Gunes (8/5): Very good -
- Dominique (10/5): Comfortable and very charming. - This is a small boutique property with very warm and welcoming staff/hosts. The room was very clean and had a beautiful Juliet balcony. It is very well located. The breakfast was wonderful. Would highly recommend. A little noisy but everyone is still celebrating 100 years.
- Ed (7/5): Really good 3 days exploring the area - The property had great character, historical links, good proximity to the front, lovely breakfast and friendly owners and staff. Whilst the proximity to the front was great, there are also a lot of lively bars playing music late into the night so remember your earplugs
- Fadi (5/5): The location and staff are superb, our stay was not comfortable due to a problem in the air conditioning. - The location is perfect to tour the city and the staff are warm and hospitable. The rooms and facilities are nice and clean. The air conditioner is not working and the stay was very uncomfortable.
- Antigone (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely staff, very helpful. Amazing location and the breakfast was superb! Would definitely stay here again!
- Gee (10/5): Cute hotel great location super hosts. - Location was brilliant. Car park right opposite. Close to everything. Lovely hosts who couldn’t do enough for us. Super breakfasts. Rooms and bed are really comfortable and quaint. Would most highly recommend. Nothing
- Barrow (9/5): We would definitely recommend and return. - Lovely traditional Khavalti with endless Cay The recommendation of restaurant - but that was NOT our hosts fault.
- Stephanie (8/5): Lovely staff and rooms. Conveniently located, noisy at night - The staff were all very friendly and breakfast was delicious. The location was so convenient, we parked the car across the road and left it there during our stay. The rooms were so clean! And the baby cot was so comfy our 1 year old slept all night. The hotel is in a very busy area at night time. So if you don't like traffic noise or loud music until around midnight - 1am, it's possibly not for you. We were fine and slept well.
- Natalie (10/5): Great little guesthouse - Great location, amazing rooms and vibe. Great little balcony overlooking the strait plus busy street scene where we had tea and drinks in the evenings. 1 block away from the car ferry heading to Gallipoli. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room could have a small bar fridge.
- Graham (9/5): superb relaxing, friendly homely. - The Owners and staff were lovely the Breakfast was lovely also i would recommend the hotel to family and friends and i will return The bed was super comfy, to be honest i cant praise our experience in the hotel high enough. The only downside to the hotel experience is there was no kettle in the room, However they did say that if we wanted tea we could come down stairs but it would have been nice to make it in the beautiful room
- Caz (10/5): Absolutely delightful hotel and staff. - Very convenient and absolutely delightful. Amazing breakfast and service. We stayed only one night, but I would definitely be happy to stay again. We loved our room and the lobby/lounge/breakfast area was just gorgeous. If you wanted a great place to base yourself for longer this place would be perfect. The hosts and staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Wonderful stay. Not a thing.
- Cathy (9/5): Very close to ferry in Canakkale - Lovely staff who were very helpful with anything we needed, location was very close to ferry, building was beautiful with a lot of character, breakfast was extensive Was very noisy from the bars on the Wednesday night we stayed but we did have ear plugs which helped
- Kathryn (8/5): The staff treated us like family, so kind welcoming and helpful - Wonderful fresh local cuisine everyday came with variety It met all my expectations
- Jorj (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic location next to the port and heart of Canakkale. Great restaurants and bars next door so some rooms can be noisy until 1 am. Historic interior, car park is opposite. Reception staff were great, especially Yusuf.
- Mike (10/5): Beautiful wee hotel. - Apparently the oldest hotel in Canakkale. Quaint and comfortable room. Only across a carpark to the waterfront and surrounded by eateries etc. Fantastic staff. The breakfast was sumptuous and full of great flavours, with home grown vegies. Definitely recommended. Nothing major, a couple of things a little tired but nothing that really matters. Probably the only negative at night was a penchant for boy racers with ridiculously loud car stereos to cruise by but we were there Thurs and Fri nights so it would be quieter on other nights.
- Lorna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yavovelo (10/5): Exceptional - Location
Management
Food Nothing much. ACs to be repaired for better efficiency.
- Charmian (8/5): Very good - The location
The staff were very lovely The stairs
Bed was a little hard
They kept turning the air conditioning off when we went out. Room was too hot to stay in until 30 mins after turning air conditioning back on
- Frances (7/5): Good -
- Zoltan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nigel (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, comfy rooms, great breakfast, very friendly staff.
- Sarah (7/5): Great spot if you don’t mind a party - Great buzzy location; the other aspect of this was the noise! Staff were very helpful. The surroundings mean that the hotel is very loud.
- Juan (7/5): Good -
- Anita (9/5): The hotel is charming with a lot of history including the fact that Schliemann stayed there. - Great - in lobby no elevator - but stairs were easy to clmb.
- Anita (10/5): Exceptional - Small, personal. Great staff. No elevator
- Anita (10/5): Historic Hotwl - Historic place. Schleimann stayed here when digging at Troy. Restaurants nearby. Scenic wall. Lacked an elevator.
- Norma (5/5): disappointing - the authenticity, but it was in the middle of a commercial area, no where to park except for 5 minutes walk away. not good if you have a heavy suitcase The location was in the middle of a commercial area, no where to park except for 5 minutes walk away. not good if you have a heavy suitcase . there was air conditioning unit in the room but was told it wasn’t working. I think we should have been offered a fan.
