• Moira (8/5): Wonderful stay in rural paradise - Beautiful location in the countryside close to Mount Agou. Very friendly and helpful staff. Salem the manager was really kind.He took me to visit the local school and helped me buy some material and have it made into a beautiful dress. The refuge is self sufficient in water and electricity. They grow their own bio produce.

• Rachel (6/5): Lovely location and team but comfort did not match price. - • Beautiful setting with a lovely terrace offering stunning views • Very nice grounds • Excellent communication • Director was kind, helpful, and responsive • Price high for the level of comfort • Bed narrow, very short (partner 1.87 m), and very hot, likely due to the mattress or bedding •Mosquito net poorly fixed; getting in and out required undoing it each time, and it did not appear clean • No hot water or Wi-Fi, not mentioned in advance •Meals expensive for what was offered (limited protein, extra charge for white rice) •Basic breakfast, extra egg refused •“Eco” positioning did not match reality
• Raphaël (7/5): Lovely little "refuge" bringing proximity to nature and an opportunity with digital detox. - The staff was very friendly and welcoming and made effort to accommodate a lot of last minute requests and to speak English. Organisation could have been improved, particularly through clearer pre-arrival communication, such as providing detailed directions to the property and collecting check-in information ahead of time rather than during breakfast.

• Pieter (9/5): Beautiful refuge in an amazing location - Beautiful surroundings, so calm. The host is incredibly helpful and kind. This refuge is his personal project, and you can see his passion. The surrounding villages are small but lovely to walk through. There are nice hikes possible, including to the peak of Mount Agou, the people on the paths will kindly guide you to your destination. They are truly kind. The location on the map is slightly off, ask for a pin before you arrive to make sure you find the right place!
• Dirk (10/5): Auszeit im grünen Togo - Das Refuge ist ein sagenhaft schöner Ort zum Entspannen und Ausruhen. Als einzige Gäste haben wir es auch als Ausgangspunkt für diverse Ausflüge mit „unserem“ Guide genutzt. Das Personal war super nett und sympathisch - einfach toll. Das Refuge hat mit beigetragen zu einem unvergesslichen Urlaub in Togo.

• Daniel (10/5): A wonderful place with great staff. Read more if you don’t find the location. - It is a beautiful quiet place with nice and clean paillotes, probably built very recently. The staff is very friendly and the food is local and delicious. We liked everything! Only, we struggled a bit finding it. In early Aug 2024, the map-pins on both, Google Maps and Booking.com, were set in the middle of the village Lavié-Agoviépé, instead of its real location, and nobody was answering the phone, for guiding us. Note that the Refuge is about 3.7km west of the village, or on half-way on the narrow 4WD « piste » between the village and east-end of Kpalimé. However, I guess this wrong pins will be fixed soon. Once you reach there, you will be largely rewarded with a beautiful place and friendly staff.
