• Spiros (3/5): Poor - In general, the apartment is nice and located in the historic centre, on Santa Croce square. All attractions in Florence are within walking distance. A lot of trattorias and restaurants are nearby. We were extremely disappointed by the host and the way he handled the below situation: We experienced a very unpleasant and uncomfortable situation during the first night of our stay due to the lack of electricity in the apartment. I need to clarify that it was not a general black-out, but an issue related to our apartment only. Following several attempts to contact our host, Lorenzo, we finally managed to speak with him on the phone. He gave us some instructions, but the problem persisted. He promised to send an electrician to visit and check the apartment the next day. From 21:47 of the 23rd of April (I.e 2 hours form the time of our arrival) until 10.30 am of the 24th of April, we did not have any light or heating in the apartment, we (4-member family) could not charge any device (mobiles and laptops) neither we could have a warm bath nor prepare dinner or breakfast. We had to go out for dinner and then for breakfast the next day and partly charge our dead devices at the cafe. In essence during the first night and partly the second day of our stay, the apartment was not suitable for the purpose we rented it. The problem was fixed the next day and we explained to the host that he should refund at least the rental cost of our 1st day/night. He told us that he was processing the request (with whom?) and would revert. The host never reverted and after we left we sent him two messages but he never bothered to reply. This behavior is totally unacceptable and booking.com should be very alert with this type of situations. I would definitely avoid staying in this apartment again, not because of the condition of the apartment but because of the indifference of the host. As for the location of the apartment, Santa Croce square is an extremely noisy place and if you like silence and calmness during your stay, this is not the ideal place to stay in Florence. Still waiting an answer for my refund request ...
• Peter (9/5): Great location, both for Santa Croce and the other major attractions within easy walking distance. - The location is superb, the view of the Church of Santa Croce is as advertised. There is always something to look at going on in the square, and although it’s always busy the bedrooms in the apartment are far enough away from the front window to not disturb us. The beds and sofa were comfortable, thee we kitchen was well equipped, the shower room was very new and clean. The kitchen and shower room were a bit small, however the building is old and therefore was not originally designed for 2025.
• Njap (10/5): A gem of an appartment. - Location and view from the lounge windows were AWESOME. A couple of bar stools might be nice so you can perch at the window and enjoy the view more fully - seated with a drink. Very spacious flat. Long and narrow arrangement meaning the bedrooms are away from any noise that might be in the Piazza. But the shutters and windows keep out the (nice daytime bustling) noise incredibly well too. Compact bathroom but with a very large shower. Great to come back to the apartment to rest legs & people watch out of the window, before heading back out for the evening. Bedrooms were quite dark - needed lights on, but that was fine as it means any morning light does not wake you up too early! Online check in worked perfectly for us - just make sure you have enough battery left and data. There is a phone number provided too to start you off. Just take a few screenshots or print the number just in case. Walkable to all the main sites. Don't forget to go onto Santa Croce church too! It's a stunner! Really close access to the river too. The host was helpful right from the start advising of a bag store that also worked well - and very reasonable £. Bus line (23) back to main station for onward travel by tram (T2) to airport was just around the corner from the apartment (£0.85 total cost!! Yes 85 pence!) Wish we'd realised that before we arrived and we'd not have bothered with the taxi ride in. A hidden gem of a place. Nothing... Thank you.
• Yvonne (9/5): A comfortable apartment in a very central location with a view of the lovely Santa Croce church - It was very comfortable, both in terms of the bedrooms and the sitting room. Nothing really. It is in an old building so can only be reached by a lot of stairs. This could be a problem for less able visitors.
