His attention to detail,cleanliness,comfortability was just off the chart. He was amazing and we will definitely be back! We had to leave!! I would have stayed longer if possible
Anne (9/5): A warm welcome from Michael to his lovely property. - The property was beautifully decorated to the highest standard and fitting for the age of the house. It was conveniently situated within walking distance to both Matlock and Matlock Bath. Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. A delicious breakfast in the dining room - best scrambled eggs I have ever had! The main road outside is very busy and there are lots of motor bikes so it’s quite noisy at the front.

The rooms were lovely beds really comfy had a wonderful nights sleep even though it was on a main road breakfast great . The host Michael was fabulous told us places to go an best way to get there he couldnt do enough for us . Looking forward to going back there ,would recommend to everyone . There wasn't anything i didnt like .

63cf75da83bf70fd841de7f3600138bc (10/5): If we return to the Matlock area, we shall surely book at the Heathbank House B&B. - From the moment we arrived the host, Michael, was most welcoming. The room was small very clean and complete with all accessories. Also the shower room was small and the walk in shower also small. However all was exceptionally in order and clean. Breakfast was top of all, magnificent room and romantic table set up for us. Parking was also available. Great host great place. Highly recommended. The small very steep uphill drive to reach the parking lot might prove a challenge for inexperienced drivers.

Cooper (10/5): Fantastic stay - WOW! Michael has worked wonders restoring this period property, keeping it's period charm and mixing it with modern pieces. It was a pleasure to stay here. I loved every minute of our short stay, Michael was so helpful, friendly, welcoming and charming ( I will stop the well-deserved praise now) It was a short flat walk to all the attractions of Matlock Bath, a truly great place to stay and explore the Peak district. Book now you'll love it Didn't like the fact we couldn't afford to buy it , but even if we had the money I know we wouldn't have persuaded Michael to sell, he loves Heathbank House and it truly shows.

The small edible treats in the room on arrival made the welcome that much better. The decor and soft furnishings of the bedroom and communal areas was fantastic. Everything was clean and tidy, "a place for everything, everything in its place" The proprietors extensive knowledge of the local area, places to eat and visit was most useful. The location was excellent being, only a max fifteen minute walk between Matlock and Matlock Bath.

Clare (10/5): Heathbank House is a comfortable and welcoming home from home for guests to enjoy. - The house is beautiful and comfortable and has been lovingly restored to a very high standard by Michael, who is passionate about the history of the building. The location is perfect for visiting Matlock and Matlock Bath, both a short walk away. Michael is a great host, really welcoming and gave us lots of recommendations of where to eat and drink during our stay.

Maxine (10/5): Beautiful accommodation with an outstanding host ideally situated between Matlock and Matlock Bath. - Michael is a fantastic host - his attention to detail is outstanding. Very welcoming, explained everything clearly and nothing is too much trouble. It’s very clear that he’s put alot of work into renovating the house and it’s been a labour of love. All the rooms are individually styled, spotlessly clean with some really lovely personal touches. The property is ideally situated mid-way between Matlock and Matlock Bath - about 10/12 minutes walk to each and directly by High Tor. I think you’d be challenged to find better accommodation, with such a warm welcome, in the area. Nothing. Can’t really fault it.

He was attentive throughout, very friendly/welcome, and with an eye for every possible detail. Michael communications beforehand were very prompt and included clear directions. He also responded with suggestions of eateries in Matlock (great recommendations). We have stayed in many hotels, B&Bs and airbnbs, but this was the best experience we have had. Once you talk to the host for more than 2 minutes you can clearly see the love and effort he painstakingly puts into making sure your stay is impeccable, which indeed, it was. Good parking and offered to let us leave car for day which was very kind. Our only disappointment was the breakfast which was rather lack lustre considering quality of rooms. No hot options and variety of continental breakfast was very limited. Compared to other places we have stayed it was all just ok. Part of treat (and I would also say expectation) of staying in a nice B&B is the delicious breakfast. This has potential to be a 10/10 place so thought I would give some (hopefully) helpful, honest feedback.
