- nolan (10/5): A perfect countryside getaway with beautiful views and exceptional hospitality. - The Shepherds Nest is situated in a peaceful private place, with great views. Perfect for a relaxing getaway trip. Has everything you possibly need. And the Host Carol is the most welcoming and will make you feel right at home. N/A. I didn’t book two nights.
- ryan (10/5): Perfect weekend break away - The property was very well kept, the layout was very functional utilised the space very well, had everything you would need for a 1 night stay up to a week and more, the outside bath was a god send in the heatwave we experienced during our stay and the fan provided inside the shepherds hut made all the difference, finished to a good standard and very clean, bed was very comfortable had a good night sleep, would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family, easy to find with location instructions provided, look forward to returning in the future, hosts also very welcoming and friendly. N/A

- Gysintha (10/5): Cosy, relaxing, and genuinely one of the loveliest stays I’ve had! - Absolutely lovely stay at Shepherd’s Nest. After a long day of hiking, it was exactly the kind of peaceful reset I needed ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The shepherd’s hut itself was cosy, clean, and beautifully done. It genuinely had everything you could need already there waiting for you, which was such a thoughtful touch. Firewood, kindling, matches, tea, coffee, milk, orange juice, bread, butter, jam — all the little essentials had been considered and it immediately made the stay feel warm and welcoming.
The outdoor bath was incredible 🛁 Sitting there with a Guinness, soaking in the views and listening to the countryside around me was such a perfect way to unwind. Towels and robes were also provided, which made the whole experience feel even more cosy and relaxing.
The little calf in the neighbouring field completely stole my heart too when he was packing through the fence 🫠
Carol was such a lovely host and couldn’t have been more helpful. I had a minor panic when my drone decided to land itself in one of the fields on the property, but Carol was so kind and allowed me access to go and retrieve it.
I spent the evening reading, relaxing by the fire pit, and properly switching off for once. After a busy few months, it was exactly the escape I needed🫶🏻
Couldn’t fault the stay at all and would happily return. A genuine little hidden gem ✨

- Emilia (10/5): Gutted it was only 1 night, will definitely be returning! Thank you so much! - This was a gorgeous last minute find! The hut was adorable, spotlessly clean and so warm/cosy! The hosts were very accommodating to our late arrival. Outside bath was such a lovely addition. All the little thoughtful touches were much appreciated such as the robes and all the milk/tea/coffee/jam/bread. Everything you could possibly need for your stay.

- Scarlett (10/5): Nice getaway location - Nice location and little space, came here with my younger sister and we had a nice time, was a cow in the field next to us which was cool and an outside tub with a privacy screen. Woodburner inside was really sweet and kept us toasty
- Helen (10/5): -
- Siobhan (10/5): Best Christmas Ever! - Everything was perfect, we woke up there on Christmas day to the most beautiful view. It was probably the best Christmas weve had in a very long time! The little extra touches like prosecco and chocolates and bread and orange juice were really thoughtful. The bed was really cosy and had a little tv to watch christmas movies. We didnt unfortunately get to use the bath which i was most disappointed about, but this was our own fault, we were so relaxed we fell asleep early and didnt have enough time in the end! However, it does mean that we are booking to come back for our birthdays in April! Cant wait to come back and visit. We think this is going to become a regular trip for us. Carol and Charlie are wonderful hosts we could not ask for anything more! Nothing at all!
- Rebekah (10/5): -
- Richard (10/5): - Absolutely incredible hideaway. Perfect, even on a damp winter night. Extra special private hot outside bath and wood burner. Beautiful. And all hosted by lovely people. - Kezzabelle33 (10/5): 1000% Recommend - Quiet remote location, not too far from amenities for driving.
Lovely little touches including bread, milk, tea, coffee, jam, butter, sugar, toiletries and so so much more.
Amazing outdoor bath with privacy screen watching the planes fly over head. Bath could be slightly bigger to accommodate couples fitting in it comfortably but was still a vwry good enjoyable bathing experience.

- Richard (8/5): - Warm, cosy and well appointed/styled! Very useful for next trip to the area. Nothing really - road to the pub isn't for the fainted hearted walker. Take a torch!
- john (10/5): - The sunset was so beautiful
Really enjoyed the bath outside what an excellent idea
Even the cows came to see me in the morning Nothing to report here
- marcin (10/5): - Nice and quiet place.
- Zoe (10/5): Tranquil gem 💎 - It was just utterly wonderful! So very peaceful and relaxing. The cows, the log burner, the BATH! We were there only one night but we managed to have two baths and they were so warm and tranquil. Even with the cow staring at us 😂. Carol was so kind and friendly we felt right at home.
Cannot recommend it enough - it’s one of those special gems that’s just right 💜 It didn’t bother us at all but you can hear the planes overhead on the way to the airport so just a heads up if you’re a super light sleeper! Or maybe just take earplugs - it’s so worth it 😍
- Paul (10/5): -

The outdoor bath was divine and we watched the sunset from the comfort of a hot bubble bath - heaven!!! - Sandra (10/5): -
- Stephen (9/5): Superb - Peaceful location The hot water in the property was VERY VERY hot. There were plenty of high visibility warnings about the hot water but I don't know why it was set so HOT! Made the shower settings challenging!

- Jane (10/5): Exceptional - Peace & quiet Electric plinth heating woke me up but I guess better to be warm
- Jade (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lee (10/5): Excellent - Everything Nothing
- Michael (10/5): Awesome spot - I cannot praise this break enough. It is in close location to many of the tourist attractions, yet far enough to be classed as isolated. The little time we spent there was simply a stress drain, leaving us completely invigorated for the rest of the holiday, my ONLY regret is that we did not stay the whole holiday there. The night was breathtaking with no light pollution and all the owls could be heard in the nearby woods and the morning, the bird song was so tranquil. The outdoor bath is a great novelty, but relaxing with only the cows and calfs watching. The "Shepards Hut" is more like the Tardis, small on the outside yet bigger on the inside, lol.
We will DEFINITELY be going back there Nothing
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rory (10/5): Idyllic, chilled and just what was required for the one night stay! - Location and views were just right! Chilled and quiet and very friendly welcoming from the owners. So beautiful to wake up to in the morning - will be back! Nothing - all was excellent! Thank you.

- Hollie (10/5): A real treat! That we will hopefully enjoy again! - Everything about the property was just amazing, the facilities, area just everything about it was wonderful! Our host was so attentive and went the extra mile to ensure we had the most relaxing, comfortable stay. We will be back without a doubt! We especially enjoyed watching the planes go into the airport from the bed!!
- Alana (10/5): Best hidden gem! - Absolutely amazing hidden gem! - Mike (9/5): We really enjoyed the comfortable accommodation and peaceful surroundings. It was the perfect break away we were needing - It was surprisingly spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. Also a good size shower was a big positive. The only negative was there could have been better wine glass options. But the hosts were very accommodating and provided what we required within 10 minutes.
- Daniel (10/5): Beautiful location so relaxing and peaceful - Location was beautiful staff very friendly and the hut was beautiful and clean Can’t fault anything
- Antony (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect!
We had everything we needed for a nights stay. There was toiletries to have a shower and coffee, tea and bread for toast in the morning, Also jam if you wanted it. The outside bath was great. We used the bubble bath provided and had a romantic bath, it was raining but the Bath is under cover. The bed was comfy and had a good night sleep. We was greeted by the cows in the field in the morning which was great. Would deffo stay again.
- Juin (9/5): Great stay - Scenic location, very clean, perfectly comfortable.
I was allowed to extend check out time the first day I arrived, which was really appreciated. Was a great opportunity finding this wonderful place to wind down.
- Jaden (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (10/5): We would visit again - Well presented, host was friendly and welcoming. Only picky thing was no visible number to property and no WiFi password if you need your phone.
- Debbie (10/5): Exceptional - Peaceful setting, lovely welcoming host. The Shepherd’s Nest was spotlessly clean, and smelt amazing on arrival. We were greeted by Carol, there was everything we could need, including fresh juice, butter, bread and conserves, which we enjoyed for supper.
We ate at a nearby pub, then came back and enjoyed sitting in the warm sunshine, as the sun then set the cows moved closer, and were still outside the Hut, when we woke.
Just the finish we needed to a busy few days previous, exploring Somerset, before we continued our journey to family in Dorset.
Throughly recommended 💚
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional - It's was absolutely perfect, we only stayed for one night as a little pit stop before travelling down to Torquay to see my brother and his family, wish we could of stayed for longer ,it was so peaceful, definitely will be having another pit stop there next time we go down to the family

- Kim (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet and private location. Spotless clean! Host is very friendly. Loved the outdoor bath tub and the views. If ever in the area, would definitely stay here again.
- Emmyemmyb (10/5): An escape to a nature filled peaceful nook - All amenities were excellent. Everything I needed and lovely little extras. Hosts were kind and warm. Outdoor bath was magical especially during the sunset and then with the stars! The only thing that didn’t work very well was the TV which lost signal
