• Jennifer (9/5): Ottimo - Abbiamo trascorso un soggiorno molto piacevole. L’alloggio era accogliente, pulito e dotato di tutto il necessario per sentirsi a proprio agio. La comunicazione è stata semplice e tutto è andato come previsto. Ci siamo trovati molto bene e apprezziamo la cura dedicata agli ospiti, comprese le borracce “termos” per l’acqua sempre fresca e a portata di mano. Consigliato per chi cerca una sistemazione comoda e senza sorprese. Il materasso era davvero molto duro e scomodo

No me gustó el trato del responsable del restaurante. No me gustó que no hubiera un lugar con mesas para poder estar con amigos en algún espacio del hotel, como en la zona de los camastros estaría bien.

• Florian (6/5): Mixed feelings - great location, good amenities, but lack of genuine hospitality - Leaving this hotel with very mixed feelings - the location is excellent, views from the upper floor rooms as well, small pool as well as beach area are adequate and relaxing. Size of the rooms is great, and beds are quite comfortable. AC worked well, and lightning in bathroom as well as room was adequate. Overall an OK choice, but could be SO much better given location, and in principle good design of the place. What left me with a very mixed, and somewhat disappointed feeling was all related to staff - it seemed one was more a "nuisance" than a guest, including with some of the bar/restaurant staff who seemed to prefer their mobile phones over being attentive to guests. Two specifics 1. while "breakfast is included", this only includes very basic americano coffee or tea, a fruit platter, and toast with jam - anything else is extra. That is fine, but was never explicitly communitated - unprofessional 2. the "moment of truth" came when I had even upfront confirmed that housekeeping staff would be able to do some simple wash and fold for me, which I reconfirmed and on day 2 of my stay gave to the housekeeping staff early morning, incl. confirming that i would pay them in cash next morning (day of my departure), and the women receptionist (an Argentinian women) confirmed again. Next morning, a different receptionist checks in with the housekeeping staff which seemed disturbed during their breakfast, which simply say my laundry is not done. Has not even been touched, still in my bag. Receptionist blames me, saying laundry always takes 24 hours - not even listening to me that I did bring it 24 hours ago. Then blaming the other receptionist - word by word "if I would have handled this, I would have given the housekeeping sh.. - but as it was not me I can not do anything". No apology at this moment, totally unprofessional to blame staff in front of guests. Only when I left the key, visibly annoyed, he apologized. Also rooms quite bare-bone, there is not even a simple small table or area where one could open an iPad or Laptop, despite the rooms being huge (so people are forced to work in the bar or restaurant). Sunloungers and pads on beach area quite run-down. Safe too small for anything except cash and a phone, and with a key...

• Bernhard (3/5): Entäuschend und zu teuer - Der Ort El Cuyo ist recht nett aber eher langweilig und kaum Lokale oder Restaurants. Die Bilder entsprechen nicht der Realität. Es ist im allgemeinen sehr unordentlich (Sonnenliegen stehen irgendwo, Pool unsauber, Müll liegt neben dem Mülleimern,…). Das Frühstück ist eine Frechheit, ein paar stücke Obst, etwas Joghurt mit granola und zwei Scheiben Toast. Alles andere ist extra zu zahlen bei einem schon sehr hohen Zimmerpreis für das Angebot. Ebenso befindet sich das Hotel gerade im Umbau und ab 08:00 gibt es Baulärm. Das erweckt leider den Eindruck, dass der Profit im Vordergrund steht. Wir haben 3 Nächte gebucht, sind aber nach der ersten Nacht abgereist.
• Mark (9/5): We will definitely be back and stay longer. - This find is a gem. Great location, quiet, beautiful view, right on the ocean. I really hate to rave about it because I want it to stay a hidden gem. The cleaning staff was great. The restaurant was very good. It was very convenient to have it stay open all day. Great breakfast that was included, bottled water at disposal and the dinner was phenomenal. You could also walk to a lot of great local restaurants. Be prepared for very strong winds...that's why kite surfing is big here!

• Graeme (8/5): Quiet beach-side retreat - Great location on the beach and close to the town whilst being very quiet. Lovely big bathroom. El Cuyo is a quiet place away from the crowds in a lovely nature reserve. 2 for 1 cocktails from 5-7. The bed frame was much larger than the mattress so we lived in terror of breaking our shin bones. Breakfast was absolutely fine, but the same every day. Nicer options are available close by in the town. We didn't fancy eating there.

U have wifi, but it’s a place to get back to basics, explore, and unplug. - Hotel, grounds, restaurant, and recently renovated room were clean with a focus on modesty… ie no tv, coffee maker, bar fridge etc. Breakfast was simple with fruit, cereal, yogurt, toast, and jam (it’s not a buffet!). You can order/purchase larger meal if desired. Town and pier are 3 min walk. Beach is 30 metre trail/walk through the foliage covered dune. The reception staff and restaurant manager were great and spoke English. The rest of the staff not so fluent. There is also a 2 for 1 happy hour from 530-730 in restaurant. We only ate the first night at their restaurant, but the fish and shrimp tacos were fantastic. We purposely shopped prior to arrival in Tulum for poolside mix and alcohol. However, upon arrival we were told we were not allowed to have our own in the room or in the grounds, only drinks from restaurant. Not big drinkers, we made due. An ice machine would still have been convenient instead of bothering restaurant staff for ice. Parking is beside the hotel but is not part of hotel, beneath coconut palms….. ie:1 car had its windscreen smashed the day they were supposed to depart. So look up to check if your in the line of falling coconuts.

• Simon (8/5): Lovely beach-side hotel in a beautiful location - La Casa Cielo is located on the beach and has beautiful views through palm trees of the ocean. There is a lovely pool and the sun loungers in the garden can be positioned for shade or for sun. The upstairs restaurant, bar and terrace have lovely views of the ocean too, as do the majority of rooms. We opted for a room with a ‘garden view’ which had a large balcony but actually looked out over low buildings to a grassy area of the town. We did feel that describing the room as having a ‘garden view’ rather stretched the imagination! That said, we really liked this room as it was very large and the balcony offered far more privacy than the majority of ocean-view rooms. Breakfast consisted of a lovely fresh fruit platter, yogurt and granola and toast and there was an unlimited supply of coffee and various teas. There was also unlimited mineral water freely available for guests to fill the large thermos flasks supplied by the hotel. We were disappointed that eggs were not included in the breakfast but there was a breakfast menu available for an extra cost. The standard of cleanliness was extremely high and all staff were very courteous and friendly. We would highly recommend this hotel and it was a great final location for our 3 week trip around the Yucatan Peninsula. What we weren’t expecting, however, was to have to sign a disclaimer agreeing not to bring any food or drinks - including alcohol -onto the hotel premises which included the garden. This was not explained on their website and did not appear on booking.com either. We were not happy about having to agree to pay a $100 fine should we break this rule which we only found out about at check-in.
• david (9/5): Probably the best in El Cuyo ..if they keep on top of it. - It works.. shower , air con .. location is very good. The ethos of the hotel comes from the CEO. He has a heart and much experience. Importantly the humility of understanding the guests mean his presence as leading light is very important. The cleaners and guys who do most of the menial tasks are very positive.. again they do an excellent job. Like a lot of instances in general. Things can slip in terms of remembering the tourists are not just numbers. In many ways it’s not what’s wrong .. but how quickly they sort it . Again the place is professionally managed .. so any glitches get ironed out.

• Isabelle (8/5): Très bel hôtel mais... - Bel hôtel avec une dizaine de chambres donc on n'est pas à l'étroit.Très belle chambre avec vue sur la piscine et au loin la mer. Terrasse devant la chambre, rideau occultant. Matelas un peu dur et un sèche-cheveux serait super. Climatisation, coffre-fort. Très belle piscine fraîche et jacuzzi chauffé lorsqu'il y a du soleil. Chaises longues disponibles et un peu à l'abri lorsqu'il y a du vent. Gourde en métal qu'on vous donne à votre arrivée que vous pouvez remplir d'eau potable au restaurant. L'hôtel m'avait donné les coordonnées d'un taxi pour arriver et repartir de el cuyo ça s'est bien pratique. La plage magnifique presque personne, la mer avec des vagues. Personnel pas très accueillant excepté les femmes de ménage. D'emblée à votre arrivée on vous fait signer un papier comme quoi vous ne pouvez pas ramener de boissons et de nourriture au sein de l'hôtel sous peine d'amende de je pense 100 dollars américains. Personnellement je n'ai jamais vu ça nulle part dans le monde, même si je peux comprendre qu'il y a le restaurant et le bar ; au final c'est super contre-productif car j'ai été manger à l'extérieur. Le petit-déjeuner n'est vraiment pas terrible par rapport au prix de la chambre. C'est tout le temps la même chose . Vous pouvez en avoir un meilleur mais il faut payer. L'homme du restaurant n'est vraiment pas sympa, il dit à peine bonjour et on a l'impression de le déranger.

Toda la comida es excelente, el chef es un 10. Destacaría todo del hotel, el personal, la tranquilidad del sitio, las vistas, la decoración muy acorde al emplazamiento,tiene un vibe aparte. Con decir que teníamos pagadas 2 noches y terminamos cogiendo otra, a pesar de perder una noche del próximo destino, yo creo que no hace falta contar más. A destacar también la increíble hospitalidad del recepcionista, de las personas más agradables y acogedoras que he conocido, le daría un 100 de 10 Si vas a visitar El Cuyo puedes escoger La Casa Cielo con toda la confianza del mundo

Nothing, it was great. We had the rear room as it was the only one available when we booked. I’m sure the sea view rooms would be preferable but there was nothing wrong with it at all.

Mooi kleinschalig hotel, ligbedden ruim aanwezig, comfortabel en groot bed, heerlijke douche. Super plek om te ontspannen na een reis door Yucatan. Niks! Het ontbijt was voor ons helemaal goed, maar niet veel keuze (yoghurt, granola, fruit, toast en ei naar keuze). Juist wel goed om zo min mogelijk weg te gooien voor een kleiner hotel.

Dès l’arrivée le ton est donné, il est interdit d'introduire des glacières, des aliments et des boissons dans l’hôtel. On vous fait d’ailleurs signer au check in un engagement à ne pas le faire sous peine d’une amende de 100 dollars. Les chambres sont simples et ne comportent que le minimum.... pas de télévision, pas de frigo, pas de sèche-cheveux, le minimum en amenités à la salle bain, à savoir savon, gel douche et shampoing.. On vous explique que c’est pour l’écologie !! Pas bien sûr de bouteilles d’eau pour les mêmes raisons ( le plastique !!). L’hôtel est en fait un bloc avec des cases les unes à côté des autres. Il y a bien deux fauteuils devant chaque chambre, mais l’espace étant réduit sur le balcon il n’y a aucune intimité. L’isolation sonore étant inexistante, on entend le bruit du restaurant dans la chambre pendant les repas. Il fallait fuir l’hôtel pendant les services !!! Le restaurant est situé pour information au niveau des chambres Deluxe, les plus chères !!! J’avais d’ailleurs réservé pour notre voyage de noces une de ces chambres et l’un des fauteuils de nos voisins dépassait souvent devant notre porte.... et on les y entendait discuter dès 6 heures du matin !!! Vraiment aucune intimité !!! Le petit déjeuner inclus n’est pas continental mais minimaliste... à deux personnes nous avons eu une assiette de fruits frais, un peu de yaourt, un peu de granola, un tout petit peu de confiture (de quoi faire deux petites cuillères), deux toasts (soit un chacun) et c’est tout..... Tout le reste est copieux, et à supplément. Ayant osé demander un toast et de la confiture en plus le premier matin nous avons eu le droit à la soupe à la grimace du gérant pour tout notre séjour.... Vu l'accueil nous n’avons pris aucun repas à l’hôtel !!! Le jacuzzi (hot tube en anglais) est glacial.... et on vous explique qu’il est de toutes façons chauffé directement avec le soleil... la couleur de l’eau ne donne absolument pas envie d’y entrer....

• Olaf (8/5): Sehr entspannter Aufenthalt. - Prima Lage. Liebe Leute. Manche Leute belegen die Liegen wie auf Malle, nur sind sie den ganzen Tag nicht da.
• Nieves (10/5): - Realmente me gustó todo, el Hotel, todo frente al Mar, sus instalaciones, todo muy bien cuidado, la habitación, sus vistas, la comida, pero sobre todo el personal y los gerentes, tanto el general, como el del restaurante, todos muy amables y respetuosos. Me encantó el respeto, tanto del personal, como de los huéspedes, el silencio, la tranquilidad,... Está cerca de todo, hay muy buenos restaurantes cerca, hago especial mención del café Naia, es hermoso, Emily, muy amable y la comida y bebidas naturales riquísimas, fruto de sus viajes y creatividad. En realidad me gustó todo, lo recomiendo 100%, pero solo para personas que busquen el silencio, la tranquilidad, la belleza, el respeto, el cuidado, la buena comida y un entorno maravilloso. Si buscas fiesta y ruido, este no es tu lugar.

• Patrick (10/5): - Klein hotel met uitzicht op zee. Comfortabele kamers, goede bedden, badkamer met grote inloopdouche. Heel netjes allemaal. Restaurant was ook heel goed. De manager heeft ons heel aangenaam verwelkomd, ook het personeel is uiterst vriendelijk. Een aanrader! Dit enkel als opmerking. Het grote dakterras zou heel aangenaam zijn met wat tuinmeubilair en parasols of terp. Je had er een heel mooi uitzicht. Er was niets dat ons tegenviel.

Das inkludierte Frühstück ist klein aber gut. Sehr viele gute & günstige Restaurants in der Gegend. Perfekt zum relaxen. Man darf kein Essen & Trinken aufs Zimmer mitnehmen. Dafür ist Trinkwasser im Restaurant verfügbar.

• Ana Paulina (8/5): Relaxing - The staff was one of the best parts of the experience, especially the receptionist — what a beautiful light of life he is! His warmth and excellent service truly made a difference in our stay. Those were such relaxing and lovely days. The restaurant service was quite good — the flavor was exceptional, and we truly loved everything we ordered. Just as an observation, though, all the dishes took a very long time to arrive. We ate there every time, and without exception, the wait was too long on each occasion. It was worth it in the end, but they could definitely improve by streamlining kitchen processes to provide faster service.

• Iker (9/5): Un sitio espectacular y unas buenas instalaciones. - La ubicación, las vistas y las instalaciones del hotel en general. La habitación y el baño tenían muy buen tamaño y eran cómodos. Las vistas desde la habitación y desde la terraza del comedor son impresionantes. No tienen frigorífico ni televisión en la habitación, pero tampoco es necesario, ya que ofrecen agua fría en la maquina del restaurante.
• Pierre (8/5): Fantastic place for a quiet week-end away in a stunning setting - The location was stunning, with a fantastic view on the beach, just a stone-throw away. The swimming pool was nice and also offered a massage tub. We were welcomed with open arms and also invited to stay after checking out. The food and cocktails at the restaurant were quite delicious, and fairly priced. We would have gladly tried the massage menu with a bit more time. The ceiling fan in the room was annoyingly misbalanced and loud. The breakfast included was nice but a bit meager, and offered no alternative option for people with allergies. Reception was only open until 20:00, and the restaurant until 21:00. The village itself, El Cuyo, has its charm but does not offer tons of options. There was a bit of sargasso in the sea.
