• Jessica Jamuna (10/5): I would love to stay again if I return to Penang - I loved the view of the sea from both the bedroom and kitchen. Nice balcony overlooking the pool. Strong water pressure in the shower and good hot water… the mattress was super comfy. Only issue was I couldn’t figure out the electric stove the whole time I was there… even with instructions from the property owner. I just used a microwave instead.

• Ting Chun (9/5): - The stay was very comfortable. 1.The hairdryer was powerful and dried hair quickly. 2.The bathroom was clean, with separate wet and dry areas, strong hot water, and toiletries provided. 3.Both the bedroom and living room had good air-conditioning. 4.The kitchenware and fridge were clean. The microwaves works well and the important thing is there’s no bugs problem!! 5.The beddings were comfortable, which my skin tells me she’s not itchy 6. The host replied on WhatsApp very quickly, which made us feel reassured. 1. the living room chandelier, which was a bit low and easy to bump into. 2. The key wasn’t very smooth to use, and it was accidentally broke when locking the door at 10. We contacted the host, who said he could only bring a new key at 1pm. Since we had plans, we left first, and around 1pm he placed the new key in the mailbox and re-locked the door for us. Although it was a bit late, we really appreciate his help—he always replied quickly.”

• clason (7/5): - The place was good value. Floors in the bedroom and lounge used laminated flooring and we're in bad condition. It's a shame as the apartment would have been ok if fixed.

• Mikhail (6/5): If there are no other options, then in general it will be suitable for 1-2 nights - Overall a comfortable bed, normal shower, there is a washing machine It's noisy at night because of the noise of the water from the pool, you can hear something happening in the hallway of the house And most importantly, you can hear the noise of the air conditioner from the neighbors or some similar hum that prevents you from sleeping Also a bit dirty There were problems with WiFi at first The table in the hall is uncomfortable, my knees constantly bump into it

• Goh (8/5): Good environment - There was an impolite old security guard in the security room. When I asked another security guard for directions, he grabbed the property keys from my hand.
• Richard (8/5): Would stay again.. - The unit was well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. Pool and gym were great. The self check-in process is well explained and very straightforward. The local area has easy bus transport into the old town, although you can walk in 30 minutes or a Grab is very cheap. Lots of hawker food and restaurants within a few minutes walk. If you're not staying in the old town, Jelutong is a much better area than Gurney Drive area. Unit was fine. The only thing I would mention to the building management overall is the very poor provision of poolside furniture. One chair and one broken lounger was all that was available for a building with over 100 units.

• Glenn (8/5): I would recommend this apartment for anybody staying more than a few days in Penang. - I liked the swimming pool and building. The apartment is quite small so better for a couple, the view is very nice, there are places to eat and a supermarket nearby, there is a 7/11 convenience store on the ground floor of the building, there is parking in the building parkade, there is a bus stop nearby for easy access to downtown George Town, the host is very responsive and continuously checks by messaging to see if everything is ok, it is quiet and well managed. The shower has good water pressure. The bed is comfortable but the mattress is not for tall people, maybe 6 feet long. There is a washing machine and drying rack. There are some basic cleaning supplies. The internet connection is very good. The air conditioning works well and makes the apartment very comfortable. There is a good fridge/freezer, microwave and a rice cooker. There is a television which we did not use so I cannot comment on it. There is a good water boiler for coffee. There is excellent security and 24 hour access to the building. The building is not new, but clean enough. There could be a better set of dishes, drinking glasses and coffee mugs, there are no knives in the cutlery drawer. There should be a fitted sheet for the sofa bed. We had to wash the blankets to freshen them up. There was no shampoo but only shower gel. The induction stove top is confusing and not very user friendly. The sofa bed needs a good cleaning or replacement. There are 2 annoying hanging lamps in the kitchen/ dining room that I kept hitting my head on, they should be removed. As I said before, it is better to not be more than 2 adults, there are only 2 chairs to sit on. Overall, these are minor complaints and seeing as the host is very responsive, pro-active and kind, I am sure these minor issues will be rectified. It would be nice if there was a toaster. It is a good place to stay, easy to get a grab taxi into the downtown quickly and cheaply. I would recommend this place for a couple and maybe a small child, but not for 3 adults. We were 3 adults and a young boy.

• Liew (6/5): bumping onto the low hanging lamp is a reminder of our staystay - no comments the interior deco especially the hanging lamp is accidental prone we keep bumping our head as it’s too low car park is really challenging to go up

• Toni (10/5): A home away from home! Great location and facilites - We loved our stay at Straits Garden Suites. The host was informative and helpful and we found everything we needed nearby. It was a great place to work, with a Gym, Pool, shops and restaurants all within walking distance. It was very easy to get Grabs into Georgetown centre or the local Malls. The room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend!
