Guest Reviews
- Jane (8/5): Comfortable and relaxing, convenient for visiting many of the interesting sites on the Isle of Lewis. - Fabulous location, wonderful views over the sea and loch. The shower wasn’t very hot.
- Joanne (10/5): Absolutely Perfect - Everything. The cottage is beautiful, spacious all on one level and well equipped with an area for drying your wetsuits/towels after a day at the beach. Comfortable beds and a powerful shower and always hot water. Lovely gardens front and back and stunning views from every window. Set on a lovely lane where everyone has a smile or a wave and our grandson loved petting the locals dogs on their evening walks. Twenty minutes from the main town of Stornaway where there is a Tesco to stock up with your groceries and a great base for exploring Lewis and Harris. We didn't want to leave!
- Hartley (4/5): Reasonably comfortable few days on Lewis. - Plenty of hot water and a good, heavy shower.
Good heating.
Good views and situation.
Tv/wifi all good. Plenty of space for gear. Doors all need rehanging (ideally totally replaced)
Curtain rail in one of the double bedrooms needs fixing
Taps in the bathroom need sorting- stiff, leaking and hard to turn.
Equipment in the kitchen was haphazard.
A second toilet would be a good idea for a place that sleeps 5.
I am pretty sure the owner mentioned that they are doing up the property and with all of the above sorted, it could be a really nice place. I felt it was pricey, given the upgrade is yet to be done.
- Diane (8/5): Excellent all round. -
- Sue (9/5): Comfortable cottage in superb location - Location superb, excellent view from sitting room and two bedrooms. Comfortable cottage with good facilities. Helpful communications with friendly host. Cottage slightly dated, but this is reflected in the price.
- James (5/5): Brilliant location to explore Lewis - property a bit tired - Atlantic View is in an excellent location - well positioned for exploring Lewis (and Harris if you're happy to drive a bit further). It has decent views and you can do good walks from the front door - both ways up and down the coast or inland. The property is also spacious with plenty of room. The host communicates well and is friendly. We were a couple - so there was loads of room for us and our stuff - if you filled all 3 bedrooms with people then the single bathroom and facilities might be a bit tight. Broadband was very good. The property felt unloved and a bit tired. It had also not been cleaned very well - with a couple of pieces of furniture unusable because the drawers were filthy. Both racks were broken in the dishwasher and we could not get it to work, which was frustrating. The whole property really felt in need of a deep clean with some bits of crockery and cutlery needing to be rewashed before we used them - the previous guests must have been really filthy and left it in a real state.
- Gail (9/5): A great base to tour Lewis. - The location was great. Convenient for visiting different areas, and the views from the property are great. Nothing
- Paige (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gavin (9/5): Superb -
