• Gloria (7/5): Tolle Gastgeber - Lage: Die Unterkunft liegt wunderschön direkt im Grünen, sehr idyllisch. Personal/Gastgeber: Die Gastgeber waren extrem freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Sie haben uns sofort mit dem Gepäck auf dem steilen Weg geholfen. Zimmer: Das Zimmer war wirklich süß und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Frühstück: Das Frühstück war super lecker und hat keine Wünsche offen gelassen. Ein toller Start in den Tag. Zimmerkomfort: Da es keine Klimaanlage gab, war es im Zimmer leider ziemlich feucht. Besonders unangenehm war der Geruch der Schlafkissen. Anfahrt (Wichtiger Hinweis!): Die Strecke zur Unterkunft ist eine reine Offroad-Piste. Wir sind im Mai bei starkem Regen und dichtem Nebel mit dem eigenen Tuk-Tuk angereist, das war sehr schwierig. Vom Parkplatz aus geht es zudem nochmals einen sehr steilen Offroad-Weg hinunter zum Haus. Falls es regnet oder neblig ist, sollte man sein Tuk-Tuk lieber oben stehen lassen und sich von den Gastgebern abholen lassen.

The room is beautiful, very clean room super modern, with all the comforts and everything we needed. The view is priceless; waking up and having breakfast like this is priceless. The owner welcomed us with a delicious papaya juice made by his wife and two cups of delicious tea. The breakfast was perhaps the best we had on this trip, very plentiful and everything was truly delicious. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Ella or the Vixen Islands.best place in Sri Lanka!
• Tammy (10/5): Amazing place - Absolutely loved our stay at the Kingdom of Ella! Our hosts were the loveliest people and were so kind in helping us with tuktuks and anything else we needed. It is located a 7 minute drive from the centre of Ella Because of it's location the homestay is surrounded by beautiful jungle and tea fields and is incredibly peaceful, lovely to come back to after a busy Ella. The rooftop seating area is a lovely place to relax after a hike. Breakfast is incredible, the room is spotlessly clean with a huge comfortable bed and a lovely en suite. There are so many thoughtful amenities including a hair dryer. Absolutely wonderful stay! thank you very much

The room was beautiful, well-decorated, and very comfortable. The bed was perfect. • Louise (9/5): Beautiful room with lovely views - The room was really comfortable and spacious with a great bathroom. We loved the rooftop terrace area which had beautiful views and was perfect for enjoying breakfast. We were well looked after by the owners who helped organise tuk tuks to get into Ella town and made us delicious breakfasts. The road to the property is a bit bumpy so if you have a driver, they may not want to drive all the way down but tuk tuks are fine. Our driver did take us all the way down when we arrived, but we walked up to meet him at the main road when we left and it only took 5 minutes, so it’s not a big deal. There is a dog at the property which is lovely, but he did seem to bark quite a bit during the night which did wake us up.

They were also very helpful, as an example, I asked if they knew a good scooter rental company. Immediately they called someone (I think a good friend) and 15 minutes later there was a scooter. But the best thing of all was the Sri Lankan breakfast every morning! Freshly made by the hostess and her mother. By far the best breakfast we ate in Sri Lanka! 😋 The place is situated in a small valley where you can see the farmers work everyday in the fields. The silence and the few sounds of nature make it very relaxing. The road to the property is challenging, you will have to walk a little bit. The owner was kind enough to help with our suitcases. Highly recommended if you like a quiet place and the best Sri Lankan hospitality.

The place is very clean and the rooms are very clean. The breakfast was also very tasty. The owner and his wife were very helpful and they were ready to help us at any time.Their third floor is very private and quiet. We sat there for a while, watching birds flying around. The surroundings are very peaceful and quiet. It is the most peaceful and beautiful place I have ever been to in Sri Lanka.

It's a short 7minute tuktuk ride to the center of Ella, . Close to the starting Point of the hike to Little Adam's Peak & 9 Arches Bridge. They are decorating a 2nd room which will be finished soon but right now it's 2 guests only, so we had the place to ourselves. are so happy & quick to help with everything. Breakfast was delicious and very very big with fresh fruits, smoothy, eggs, toast and even local additions like hoppers etc. The view is so beautiful that you just don’t want to leave the little hotel. We ate there almost every day as lunch offer was also big and everything we tried was really great, especially rotti. homestay owner Rasika was so friendly and helpful that all our wishes like laundry, scouter, tuktuk was never a problem. • Sarra (8/5): Comfortable stay with superb hosts - Lovely, kind, and attentive hosts who went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and looked after. Our hosts even helped us order in dinner on a particularly rainy evening! Breakfast was also wonderful and warming. Comfortable room and bed! Location was a bit of a distance from the town and unable to access property in a car however our hosts went above and beyond to ensure we had a tuk tuk available to and from the main road. Also due to bad weather the room tended to smell a bit damp and clothes / towels needed to air out later on our trip. The WiFi also dropped in and out on our first night which meant we had difficulty contacting our driver however the hosts had someone come out the next day to fix it so cannot fault them at all on this!

• Moallemi (8/5): - Our stay in the beautiful town of Ella was made even more special thanks to such lovely, welcoming hosts I can’t even describe how genuine and hospitable they were! They were so kind that when they saw the path to the guesthouse was a bit steep and bumpy, they immediately helped us carry our suitcases up that thoughtfulness really stood out. Breakfast was amazing: really tasty, super varied (different options every day), and with really good portions, one of the best we had in Sri Lanka. The guesthouse is a bit away from the main town area, but if you love peace, quiet, and being surrounded by nature, it’s a perfect, beautiful spot. We felt totally relaxed and at home. Just a few small things: The lighting in the room was a bit dim – it would be nice to have brighter lights for evenings. Filtered drinking water available to refill bottles would be super handy (we had to buy bottled water). A clothes drying rack or heater would also be great for wet clothes after rain or laundry. Keep in mind it’s about 5-6 minutes by tuk-tuk to the center of Ella (we rented a scooter so it was no issue for us at all).

• Rens (9/5): Super verblijf nabij Ella - Super vriendelijke eigenaren die heel behulpzaam zijn in het regelen van een gids en vervoer. Het ontbijt is super uitgebreid en heel lekker. De kamer heeft alles wat je nodig hebt. De locatie ligt midden in de jungle, dus houd er rekening mee dat een taxi boeken hier niet kan (de eigenaren kunnen wel helpen in het regelen van een tuktuk). Het laatste deel moet te voet afgelegd worden. Wij reden onze eigen tuktuk en vonden de weg naar beneden toch best spannend. We hadden last van mieren in de badkamer, maar dit werd netjes opgelost.
• Floor (10/5): Fantastisch - Het was een prachtige kamer met super lieve hosts. Elke dag kregen we een heel uitgebreid en lekker ontbijt. We werden bij alles geholpen, van reserveringen tot taxi ritjes. Ik zou deze accommodatie aan iedereen aanraden. Over 5 dagen wordt hun 2e hotelkamer geopend. Wij hebben al mogen kijken en deze is prachtig.
• ManuelaVender (9/5): Oasi di pace tra risaie, campi e giungla - Struttura con un'unica camera, grande, bella, arredata con gusto. Anche il bagno bello e grande. Terrazza sul tetto per momenti di relax ma anche per fare colazione immersi nella natura, tra campi coltivati, risaie e giungla. Coppia estremamente gentile ed educata. Colazione tipica dello Sri Lanka che sembra un pranzo per la quantità e varietà di portate, tutte buonissime. Ottima soluzione per soggiornare fuori dalla bella ma caotica Ella. Tuk tuk gratuito fino alla strada principale. A pagamento per raggiungere il centro (10 minuti) ma a prezzi economici (indicativamente 3 euro a/r). Pronta a breve una seconda stanza. Merita! Per natura, arredo, cibo e ospitalità! La struttura non è raggiungibile in auto. Con il tuk tuk si può andare ovunque ma se avessimo potuto farci venire e portare dal nostro autista, avremmo dato 10.

Das Zimmer ist reaktiv dunkel und das Bett war (mit dem Moskitozelt) zu kurz. Es hätte etwas sauberer sein können. In Ella sind die Tuk-Tuk Preise viel höher als in anderen Landesteilen, so dass wir immer wieder zu Fuß nach Ella gelaufen sind (40 Minuten).
• PASCALE (10/5): Endroit incroyable et famille adorable. On recommande vivement ! - Très belle chambre avec une décoration soignée, réalisée avec beaucoup de goût et le sens du détail. On s'y sent bien, comme dans un petit cocon. Bien équipée (frigo, sèche-cheveux, ventilateur...). Très propre ! Au milieu de la nature, au calme. On peut profiter de l'environnement sur le toit terrasse en prenant le délicieux petit déjeuner. L'accès est un peu difficile en voiture (chemin pentu en terre) mais les hôtes fournissent un tuk-tuk à la demande pour monter à la route principale (ou pour descendre au retour). Enfin, ce qu'on retiendra le plus de ce logement, c'est l'accueil incroyable de Rasika et Banti, qui vivent au rez de chaussée avec leurs deux enfants. Ils sont tellement gentils et serviables, des amours ! Le rapport qualité-prix est top ++++++ N'hésitez pas : foncez !!! Rien ! Tout était parfait...

La atención fue excepcional, muy atentos en todo momento. Está rodeado de naturaleza y con unas vistas preciosas. La terraza nos encantó. El desayuno una pasada, super completo, rico y adaptado a nuestras preferencias. Solo pudimos estar una noche pero nos quedamos con ganas de más.

Many lovely birds and insects to see. Lovely to watch and admire over delicious breakfast in the mornings served on the roof terrace. Lovely to look over the traditional surroundings of the workers in the rice fields. The room was very comfy, large bed. All the mod cons to would need. Nice clean large room. Very good value for money. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Always available if we had any concerns. This was a really good choice for our stay in Ella, would highly recommend to others.

The room was very clean and the level of cleanliness was high. They also arranged a tuk tuk for us to go to the center.It took about 8 minutes to reach the ella town ..Thank you so much.

Also if you go to Ella by foot it is about seven minutes and the best place to hear the most beautiful and beautiful birds. This place is located in a very beautiful place in a very quiet and clean environment than Ella town where Ella is. I am very happy to stay in a place like this. Also this family served me very delicious breakfast and I thank them very much for that. In terms of cleanliness, the room, the bathroom and the bed were very comfortable. Staff very friendly and although a bit of main road, tuk tuk can get there no problem. Be ready to be with every thing that nature brings - this can mean some bugs in your room or around. Check your shoes before putting them on 😁
• Soós (8/5): Very good - The accomodation is perfect for nature-lover backpackers who are looking for a new and clean location to start their hiking. The staff is extremely friendly and caring, they arranged tuktuk for us and asked about our needs permanently. The cleanness of the room is immaculate and the breakfast was also really great. The environment is something that should be mentioned, because it is literally located in the middle of the jungle. The sound of silence and wild animals are priceless as well as the untouched starry sky. The flat itself is very calm and silent, and it gets cool for night with out air conditioning. The room itself does not seem to be new, and you have to lower your standards regarding the bathroom if you are used to European/US/AUS hotel standard. The hot water is not coming from the tub unless you are barely open it and there is no cabin or curtain that would prevent the water from soaking.

• Jork (10/5): Quiet and hidden gem with wonderful hosts - We stayed here for two nights while exploring Ella and the surroundings. It is a 10 minute TukTuk ride from Ella downtown, so very quiet at night and a great place to relax. It has a roof terrace where you can have your tea and watch the rice fields during the day or have your beer in the evening. The host family is very welcoming and does everything to make the stay memorable. If you need a TukTuk driver, they will call their great friend Babu and he will even pick you up at 6am if you need to take the early train. The breakfast was one of the best we've had in Sri Lanka!

Breakfast was 10/10 - so delicious! The highlight of The Kingdom of Ella though were the hosts - super kind, generous and would help organise anything you requested. Just a flag that the location is slightly trickier to access. Would recommend hiring a scooter like we did or Tuktuk which the lovely hosts will help you organise

The breakfast is delicious and the owners (young couple) are super welcoming. The apartment is in the jungle what makes it special as well! So def a good choice :)
• Filipa (10/5): Extremely serene stay in the hills of Ella - The house is located tucked away in the hills. It is very quiet and very peaceful. There is only one room (where we stayed) in the house so you get a real nice home stay experience. The breakfast was the best we have had in Sri Lanka so far, very tasty and a very big portion that we enjoyed in the balcony every morning. Everything is run by the family and they are very nice and helpful. We got tips of where to go and the hosts also connected us with a tuktuk driver that took us around to the places further away that we wanted to visit. They can also help sort out scooters if preferred. We also got tips where to do laundry which was a very solid recommendation. The access to the house is a bit tricky. From the main road you take a smaller road where only a tuktuk fits, not accessible by car. The last bit to the house then only accessible by foot. The tuktuk drivers gave us a hard time to drive up there saying it is a difficult road and charged us 1500lkr. We preferred to walk most times to town to not deal with the hassle. Took us 40min to walk and you get really nice views along the way. We also walked at night, no lights whatsoever but even walking in the pitch dark felt very safe.
• Robyn (9/5): Excellent 👍🏻 - Amazing breakfast every morning and I enjoyed watching the birds as the property is nestled in the forest. The bed was also super comfy. Very friendly family and they did everything to make our stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Thank you Slightly tucked away, outside the centre of Ella so would be a bit trickier without your own transport. We hired a scooter for a couple of days and then a Tuktuk which was great fun and gave us so much freedom. We also liked being away from the busy centre.
• Dan (10/5): Wonderful peaceful homestay - Absolutely loved our stay at the Kingdom of Ella! Our hosts were the loveliest people and were so kind in helping us with tuktuks and anything else we needed. It is located a 10 minute drive from the centre of Ella but you can walk to town in 30 minutes and you get incredible views along the way. Because of it's location the homestay is surrounded by beautiful jungle and tea fields and is incredibly peaceful, lovely to come back to after a busy Ella. The rooftop seating area is a lovely place to relax after a hike. Breakfast is incredible, the room is spotlessly clean with a huge comfortable bed and a lovely en suite. There are so many thoughtful amenities including a hair dryer. Absolutely wonderful stay! Nothing it was perfect! The nicest place we've stayed in Sri Lanka!
• Sydney (9/5): Lovely stay with really wonderful breakfast - The couple who own the property are so attentive and extremely helpful!! The breakfast they make is absolutely incredible. Really nice touches in the room that are very thoughtful like some playing cards. Not a negative but just a good thing to know - when you arrive don’t drive your car down the road as it’s very narrow and a cliff edge. Ask them to get you a tuktuk for you and your bags. They will organise it very quickly for you!

Rasika, his wife and their children are super cute - we appreciated their kindness and hospitality. The homestay is in a very calm area but still close to the center. We loved the rooftop terrace. The breakfast was delicious and definitely one of the best breakfasts we had during our stay in Sri Lanka.

• Kate (10/5): Amazing hosts & delicious breakfast!! - Wow. What an adventure. We arrived at night with some trepidation, the road was bumpy, it was dark and the jungle was dense. But, we were greeted by the most lovely family, shown a room with everything you could need and a rooftop with wonderful views and sounds. Breakfast was AMAZING arguably the best we had in the three weeks we spent in SriLanka. Our hosts helped with everything, scooter rental (bike arrived in 10 minutes, it was a nice one too), tips on where to eat, holding our bags for a full day on the last day, allowing us to freshen up when after our official check-out, helping with TukTuk bookings and giving great tips on things to do locally. A magic home stay experience. Please note, access is tricky in a car, the final stretch down to 'the Kingdom' is impassable by all vehicles really, so be prepared to walk a short somewhat tricky distance. Although, work looks like it's under way to improve this. Highly recommend a scooted to help you zip in and out of Ella and it's surrounding beauty spots. It's approx 10 mins on a scooter to the centre of town
• Albert (10/5): Exceptional - The place is so beautiful, in the middle of nature and very well kept! The family is charming and very helpful, they helped us in any way they could. They serve a very good and abundant breakfast. It is only 5 minutes by motorcycle / tuk tuk from the center, for us it was perfect. The room is well insulated, no insects enter unless you leave a door or window open. We will definitely repeat if we ever come back to Ella!!! Nada negativo.
• Lex (10/5): An amazing experience! - Our stay was an amazing experience! The owners were very kind and made us feel welcome. They were also very helpful, as an example, I asked if they knew a good scooter rental company. Immediately they called someone (I think a good friend) and 15 minutes later there was a scooter. But the best thing of all was the Sri Lankan breakfast every morning! Freshly made by the hostess and her mother. By far the best breakfast we ate in Sri Lanka! 😋 The place is situated in a small valley where you can see the farmers work everyday in the fields. The silence and the few sounds of nature make it very relaxing. The road to the property is challenging, you will have to walk a little bit. The owner was kind enough to help with our suitcases. Highly recommended if you like a quiet place and the best Sri Lankan hospitality. No AC, but not a big deal because in the evening it's getting colder.

We rented a scooter because the accommodation is a bit out of town. The host organized the scooter for us, which was great. The breakfast was delicious, the best in Sri Lanka for me so far. The hostess always provided us with coffee, tea and fresh juices during the day! Although Ella is very humid, the room smelled good. /
• Helguson (10/5): Perfect stay near Ella! - The accommodation is located in a quiet and beautiful valley near Ella. It is very peaceful there and a perfect place to relax. We got delicious breakfast every morning made by the hosts. The family that runs this place is super friendly. We also love the dog they have. The room was very clean and spacious. Nine arch bridge is close to the accommodation. Highly recommend! It would be great to have AC in the room, but it was not necessary since it's quite cold during the night.

But bunty welcomed us with nice tea and coffee .🙏🏼 Kingdom of Ella is an amazing home stay hosted by Rasik and his wife Bunty , a very hardworking family with 2 beautiful kids . Hosts ,stay and food it's just perfect. Hosts are just like a family. Rooms are super clean. We enjoyed a really good time with hosts at the terrace and did stargazing too . Breakfast was perfect. Location is just amazing if you want something offbeat stay.. surrounded by lots of trees and greens . Mornings are just beautiful and peaceful here . Location is a little bit off the centre of Ella but Rasik helps a lot and if you are into offbeat stays ..just go for it .

• Simone (10/5): Exceptional - The place is well decorated, the hosts were amazing, ready to make you feel welcomed, the breakfast was rich and with a big variety of dishes, in the night you could hear the sound of the jungle There were some "guests" from the jungle.. but well it's the jungle so😅 It's just personal! The path to get there is a bit rough, so not recommended for self driving, although the host managed to let us park the car to a neighbour! They are amazing!
