Guest Reviews
- Heather (8/5): -
- David (10/5): A relaxing and pleasant experience - I liked the free parking that is a bonus today when many hotels add this as an expensive extra. Our room was exceptionally well equipped and spacious.....everything worked, the shower, the heating as very cold for June. The restaurant prices were very reasonable and it had a good atmosphere and was well attended. All in all a very enjoyable stay. Can't think of anything
- gill (7/5): - Location
- Greg_xyz (8/5): OK - Check-in. Dinner was very good. Room was clean and comfortable, also larger than expected. The Real Ale was like vinegar (Probably been left in the pipe and not pulled through). I don't think it had been tasted before start of service.
- Annette (10/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): -
- Helen Mary (8/5): Enjoyed a very comfortable night away in an excellent location. Highly recommended - Excellent location as my husband has mobility issues and everything was close by. We were given a ground floor room with accessible ensuite facilities. The hotel staff were extremely helpful.
- Keith (9/5): A lovely relaxing hotel that is pet friendly. Great facilities. - A clean and comfortable hotel. Staff were friendly/helpful and the food was excellent. N/A
- Julian (10/5): -
- Susan (9/5): Personal welcome at a historic hotel. - Friendly personal welcome from reception staff. Character property with spacious room. Excellent home cooked food. Fan in room on the hottest day of the year. Nothing
- Currie (10/5): - Lovely hotel, good quality, really nice room.
- Cath (9/5): Great place to stay - Lovely decor, very comfy beds, excellent food Bit noisy if room faces the street
- Judith (10/5): -
- Sarah (9/5): - Gorgeous old building, smiling staff, loads of atmosphere. Comfortable seating for drinks or a read. Step out onto the High Street for cafes and eateries, right next to the Park and ancient Pershore Abbey. Definitely a 5 star stay.
- jamie (9/5): - Well run
- Denice (9/5): -
- Nichola (10/5): - Large room. Shower and bath.
We had my mums dog with us and they even provided a dogs bed, bowls and bag treats.
We even got a bag of biscuits on the first night. Nice tailors tea and coffee. Brilliant Driving to car park..lol a narrow road under pub.
- Ian (10/5): Faultless - Very clean , spacious , staff were great , pleasure to stay there Only having 1 night there 😂
- Jayne (8/5): Pleasurable stay, lovely town and very good hotel - Location and facilities. Lovely beer garden and field leading down to the river. Food was good Nothing to comment on everything good
- Sufiya (8/5): Lovely staff and comfortable room - Very comfortable room All good
- Martin (2/5): Mostly good - one truly terrible dinner. - The location was convenient for the town centre, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The building itself was interesting, and the fields at the end of the path led to the River Avon, which was nice. We stayed, with friends for 3 nights - a party of 6 people. The evening meal on the first two nights was good. Therefore, we decided to eat there for the third night - a Sunday. However, the evening meal was an absolute unmitigated disaster from start to finish.
Almost everything went wrong. (1) half of the menu items were off. When we ordered we were told about some of them; then the waitress (who was the manageress) came back to say that further items were off. This continued through all 3 courses (2) The soup was cold and had a skin on it (3) the prawn cocktail bread was not fresh and had some horrible margarine on it (3) most of the vegetables were cold (4) the gravy had a skin on it. (5) even the prosecco was not as nice as the previous evening - it tasted sugary! (6) the food generally was not nice and cold (7) the table was dirty and they did clean it when asked (8) service was slow - a lack of staff (9) the chunky chips were soggy. We did wonder if there was even a chef in the kitchen!
The manageress was apologetic and did not charge us for the deserts, by way of an apology.
When we checked out, the guy before us who was also checking out also complained about the food -so it was not just us.
Also - breakfast was table service - not a buffet. As the hotel was clearly short staffed, the service in the morning was also slow.
Generally disappointing - as otherwise the hotel was fine. It seemed to be consistent with management keeping the hotel short-staffed. Unwise!
- Annette (9/5): Perfect location for a visit to the RHS Malvern show. - Food, both dinner and breakfast were really nice. Our room was small but perfectly ok for one night and the public rooms were exactly what we wanted. Comfortable and friendly. A stronger shower would have made a difference.
- Lois (7/5): I would stay here again but not in this room - Friendly staff, good food, characterful, easy parking. My room. I drew the short straw . Noisy above the kitchen extractor fan. Poor shower. Small. Etc
- Thomas (2/5): Very disappointing indeed - Room was as small as you could make it and the shower was truly pathetic. They'd obviously spent a lot of money doing the place up but prioritized their profit way above the comfort of the actual paying customer. Very disappointing, particularly since it was obviously once a charming coaching inn. All show and very little substance........
- Godfrey (8/5): Excellent - Courtyard garden Breakfast
- Stephen (8/5): 3rd stay and happy all round - Clean, friendly and perfect A smaller cheaper offering for breakfast for people working would be good
- David (9/5): Overall very good. - Good choice and quality of food. Staff excellent. Bed a little uncomfortable but otherwise room ok.
- Richard (9/5): Very satisfactory in every way - Very good choice and quality Can't really say
- Pippa (8/5): -
- Richard (7/5): I would use it again if in the area. - An attractive and comfortable establishment. Wi-Fi strength was particularly poor.
Staff were very friendly but lacked any sense of urgency.
- Edith (9/5): a comfortable, conveniently sited hotel in the heart of Pershore with excellent food and staff - a very welcoming environment with extremely helpful and friendly staff. Room was spacious and comfortable - and as we were given a room at the back of the hotel, very peaceful. As well as the usual tea and coffee provision there was a coffee machine, and complimentary home-made cookies. Food was of high quality; local-sourced meat and veg, very tasty, cooked to perfection - had dinner, breakfast and lunch there. Very useful to have plenty of parking at the rear, as the hotel sits on the main road through Pershore. Would definitely want to stay there again! it was all good
- John (9/5): Clean ,welcoming hotel. Pretty seating area in the garden. Could find no fault. - Room was clean and comfortable. Everything worked. Tea n coffee available. Greeted by Zac who checked us in. Process was fast and fuss free. Zac showed us to our room and offered to carry our bags (unusual these days in many hotels). Check out equally fast and again fuss free. Minor criticism!. There were two chairs in the room which were not particularly comfortable.
- Kirstie (5/5): We stayed in Plum Tree and 4 steps up to it and no bannister to help my Mum. - Amazing staff. Super friendly and helpful Really uncomfortable beds and not one single thing set in place for my Mum who struggles with mobility
- Mel (9/5): great - Almost everything No television reception apart from BBC
- Susan (3/5): Disappointed and wouldn't stay again. - The location and parking. Room was clean. I was disappointed with the room as very small. The bathroom was also small. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. There was no help with our bags on checking in. The following morning we were just pointed to a table. There was no breakfast menu so we had to ask for one The service was very Slow. There was no offer of a second cup of coffee my partner had to go to reception and find someone for a second coffee, Staff seemed distracted and not great at customer service. Checking in we waited at reception. Checking out was even worse as 2 members of staff walked past us and not one stopped so again waited to check out. Sorry but wouldn't stay again. I think the price we paid it was expensive. not a 5 stars hotel
- Colleen (10/5): -
- Glenn (9/5): Charming hotel - Comfortable
Well decorated rooms
Lively bar and restaurant
Friendly staff
- Jan (10/5): - Very well-trained staff, professional and friendly
- Nigel (10/5): - The staff were excellent, in particular,
Roz on reception. She was very helpful and welcoming.
- Emily (9/5): -
- Keith (9/5): Nice hotel with some quaint features - Nice period property , car parking Only complaint/ observation is the curtains were very light and the sunshine made the room bright at 6.30am
- QDI systems (10/5): Great staff and stay - thanks! - Staff
- Andrew (7/5): -
- Hobbs (10/5): It was a very personal stay for me, which meant alot, a fulfilled everything I needed. - An exceptional hotel with lovely facilities, very friendly and helpful staff. Perfectly situated for my visit. I sadly don't eat breakfast! But what was on offer looked very enjoyable for those who do. The There was nothing not to like! I would certainly go back again.
- Catherine (10/5): -
- Tracey (10/5): -
- Cindy (10/5): - Efficient check in and warm friendly. welcome.
Lovely cosy room. Nothing!
- Clare (10/5): -
- Michael (9/5): Loved everything about the hotel apart from the bed and bed linen. - Dinner The Bed Very hard and uncomfortable. Sheets not good quality
- R J Clash (7/5): Pleasant stay in nice location - Nice staff
Great location
Delicious breakfast
Complimentary parking
Decent size room
Great location
Pretty beer garden but too cold outside to enjoy Cold bedroom
Thin pillows and not enough bedding
Weak water pressure
- Nicola (8/5): Very good and very helpful in the restaurant - The staff were very good. Restaurant very helpful and good food. It was a really enjoyable stay The room could have done with a paint touch up in places
- Stuart (10/5): -
- Toby (9/5): -
- Toby (9/5): -

- Jakko (8/5): - Breakfast was good. Atmosphere great
- Jane (4/5): -
- Nicholas (10/5): -
- Stephen (8/5): Enjoyed the stay in a nice old Hotel and would definitely recommend and return. -
- Geoff (8/5): -
- Douglas (6/5): Our stay was ok but the room was not satisfactory for the price. - Staff we re excellent. The room and bathroom were small, rudimentally furnished and decorated. The shower was over the bath and there were no grab rails to get in or out which made its use dangerous if not impossible for the old.
- Rosemary (7/5): Very adequate for the one night stay. - Reserved Table for
Dinner. Parking area, because it was very full, but ground very rough.
- John (6/5): ok overall - For the price breakfast wasn't included, so I didn't eat there nothing to like Price
- Andrew (10/5): Lovely location and grounds walking distance to riverside. Food and bar excellent - Very friendly staff attentive. Good menu friendly bar also. Nothing
- David (10/5): - we had both breakfast and dinner , both were excellent
- Stephen (9/5): -
- Sarah (8/5): It was perfectly positioned for our nephews birthday party, the food we ate was delicious, spacious - Our room was large and comfortable- the bathroom was lovely! Perhaps a few more little extras such as a few more biscuits, a bag of crisps or bit of chocolate- we had a child with us who, after our journey was hungry so ate our packet before we'd even unpacked!
- steve (8/5): - The staff were lovely. Spot on. Easy check in for a last minute booking as travelling Parking was an issue as I had a van and there was a height restriction. Ended up parking quite a distance away
- Jacqueline (10/5): -
- hibberd (10/5): Outstanding - Beautiful old hotel with charming character loved it The suite we were in was beautiful however it was cold but we did not raise this with staff if we had I am 100% sure they would have rectified it
- Carol (10/5): Relaxing time with friends in a quality location. - We had a lovely lunch on a busy New Year’s Eve and the breakfast was spot on.
- Paul (8/5): Very welcoming and staff made it a home from home feeling. - Easy to find, very good staff couldn’t do enough for you.
- Alison (8/5): Definately will book again. My husband had the roast beef for dinner, best ever ⭐️ - Ideal location to visit family. Its located in Pershore perfect for shopping and sight seeing Suite was cold, staff went above and beyond to resolve. Asked staff moved us to alternative room and John found perfect warm room. He also sourced hypoallergenic quilt and checked we were happy in new room.
- Rohda (10/5): - Everytime we come it is like visiting family! We miss the pie and the black pudding that has didsppeared from your menu....
- Peter (9/5): -
- Della (8/5): - Mattresses were not very comfortable
- Ian (9/5): - Location off M5
Clean and tidy
Staff excellent
Menu ok excellent beer Nothing
- David (10/5): -
- Annie (8/5): Used as a base for visiting friends in the area, would happily visit again if we were in the area. - Location and atmosphere Parking …
- Richard (9/5): - Good breakfast
- Charlesworth (7/5): Good and did the job - Location was perfect. Didn't have breakfast as we went out but we had a drink and ate here before so knew it was good Fairly noise room and pretty basic. An old fabulous building but definitely could do with some work considering the price.
- Robert (8/5): An enjoyable and comfortable stay in a good location. - The room was comfortable and there was an easy access to the car park without steps. The quality of food was excellent and the dining room had a good ambiance. No complaints.
- David (7/5): - Great historical building. Bedroom floor had a bit of a slope but was actually fine.Nice big bed. I thought the mattress a bit thin but my partner thought it was fine.
Service at breakfast was a bit slow initially but maybe some staff were preoccupied with the fire alarm which had woken us at 8:30.
- Pat (8/5): A comfortable hotel with character. - Good shower. Comfortable bed. Had dinner in the hotel in the evening with friends. Food was good and the waiting staff were very efficient. The room was small with a view of a flat roof and a wall. The handbasin drained very slowly and the toilet cistern refilled slowly.
- Andrew (8/5): Only let down by understaffing staffing issues - Location, history, character Understaffed. Vacuuming during breakfast with door open
- Elizabeth (9/5): -
- Veronica (8/5): Ritornerò - Tutto.
- Athanasios (7/5): Historic hotel with modern shower room and friendly staff. - Good breakfast. Butter could be locally sourced, or at least from the UK. Would’ve liked hot chocolate as a hot drink option. It appears that only one item can be ordered from bfast menu. It is usual to be able to order a couple of items.
- May (10/5): -
- Brian (9/5): -
- kerry (9/5): -
- Diane (9/5): - Sausage on both cooked breakfasts was undercooked, but quickly and politely dealt with
- Steven (6/5): - Perfect location I do quite a bit of traveling both UK and abroad and I felt the Angel Inn was overpriced and rather underwhelming. The staff were mediocre, breakfast was acceptable however there was a long wait for everything and no self service items such as fruit or coffee. The full English wasn't bad, however that was all we got. I was charged an extra £32 for breakfast and therefore was expecting something pretty good. A pot of coffee on our table would have been a start rather than having to ask for a cup and subsequently having to wait a few minutes for it to arrive from a stewed pot..... then having to further request some milk. Come on Angel hotel!! If you're going to charge premium prices at least offer a slightly more than mediocre experience!!!
- John (8/5): - The shower room was excellent.
The general ambiance throughout the hotel was really good
The evening meal was superb We stayed in the Avon suite. It was very good except low level , intermittent, noise at night from an ac unit or kitchen extract fan or similar, nearby
