Guest Reviews
- Brenda-louise (10/5): Probably as close to a perfect stay as is possible in Central America - The location in town was excellent, within walking distance to everything including the market, the post office, the bank, and restaurants. It was refreshing to have appliances that actually worked. Hot water in the sinks, as well as the shower, was a real plus especially for washing dishes. Property owners in general in Central America need to "get with the program" and understand that, no matter how beautiful a property looks, it is little things like having someplace to hang clothes that count for a traveler. There was a wardrobe in the bedroom where I stayed, but the top portion was full of stuff, including an extra pillow, an air mattress, an iron, etc. In order to use the hanging space, I would have had to empty that space first: annoying. Also annoying was having to operate 3 fans along with the A/C in order to try to cool both rooms.
- Mac (1/5): Not sure whose fault the mix up was but difficult to communicate with non-local host. - Location was great because we wanted to be in walking distance to immigration and the water taxi to Guatemala. Note: unable to rate the specifics above because we were not able to stay there, see below. Even though I confirmed our stay the day prior after a request to do so from Booking.com, when we arrived the following afternoon there was no one around and I could not get ahold of the property owner. The listed number was not on WhatsApp even though it had the + in front of the number as WhatsApp numbers do. After waiting around for an hour or so hoping someone would show up, my friend finally got in touch with the owner by finding the property on AirBnB. Turned out she had rented our apartment even though I had a confirmation from Booking.com. Needless to say I was not happy. But in the end it all turned out for the better because we were able to stay at Wanigi Guest House right around the corner. That apartment was perfect, the hosts were there and super helpful and friendly. They even let us leave our rental vehicle in their parking area for free while we were in Guatemala for 3 nights. DadaG was going to charge us $25 US.
- Audra (10/5): Great time at a great location. Will definately visit again - Great location and easy to find. Staff were friendly and welcoming. In the heart of Punta Gorda town. We were close to restaurants and shops as well as cultural experiences. The mattress could use a refresh. The hot water for showers sometimes ran a little short.
- Richard (10/5): Good place to stay in Punta Gorda ready for the boat to Livingston - Easy to find. Met at the property
