Guest Reviews
- Chrysavgi (1/5): Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Money Paid - This property is advertised as a 3-star hotel; however, based on our experience, I can only give one star, and that is solely for the location, which was convenient, approximately a 4–5 minute walk to restaurants, the beach and souvenir shops. I am extremely disappointed with my stay at this property, and I feel that it did not provide value for the money I paid. Given the issues encountered, I will be requesting at least a partial refund.
We booked a 4 night stay for the RL Harbour Inn Annex which was advertised as a hotel and not as an Airbnb however when we arrived they mentioned that our booking was with the Airbnb instead.
The room looked okay until we started checking everything. The bathroom door couldn't close and the handle was broken. There was no water coming out from the shower head at all or hot water.
When we reported these issues the following day, a maintenance worker who happened to be in the property attempted to fix the door handle but without any success. Then he tried to check the water pressure and showerhead but the pressure was too low. The receptionist came upstairs and tried to replaced the showerhead with one from another room, but the problem remained unchanged.
This process took nearly an hour. As we still had three nights remaining and required basic facilities such as a functioning shower, I kindly asked if there was another room available.
Initially, we were told that the property was fully booked.
After expressing that the situation was not acceptable and that basic amenities were unusable, the staff left our room without providing any update. After waiting approximately 20 minutes, we followed up and were asked to continue waiting. After nearly another hour (during which we observed staff seemingly preparing another room) we were finally informed that another room was available.
While the shower in the second room was functional, the water pressure remained low.
Although the room initially appeared larger and better, again the bathroom door handle was broken and the door would not close. The sink tap was loose and shifted when used, and the toilet flush was also loose.
On our last day, we chose not to book any tours in order to rest.

- Paul (5/5): -
- Aaron Tucker (7/5): - Location was good & friendly staff. The bed was behind a wall a bit & hard to see the tv. Around the air con was a big gap which let mosquitoes in.
- Cameron (5/5): Underwhelming - Reasonable beds. Communal breakfast area. No electricity/AC on the last days of our trip. Disappointed with the general decor of the rooms (e.g doors wouldn’t shut properly, not very secure). Shower in the wet room was very small.
- Nathan (4/5): Not ideal - It had a good location Shower didn’t work. The staff were pretty lazy and didn’t care about guests that much. I literally had to walk to hostels nearby so I could have a shower.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Juan (10/5): Nice and pleasant stay - Nice hotel, located few steps from the beach and main street. The room was super clean and comfortable, the shower worked good despite last reviews (maybe they fixed this problem). Different options on breakfast. Highly recommended.
- Maria (5/5): Fair - Close to the beach and stores. The staff are nice. The shower was running slow, there are lot of mosquitos.
- Dave (8/5): Good value for money. - I stayed in the Annex, and I think it's good value for the money. It's located in the heart of El Nido but away from the hustle and bustle. The only thing I can fault is the shower. There was no pressure and a bit cramped. But overall it was ok. Shower water pressure.
- Troncoso (7/5): Good -
- Rachel (8/5): Very good - Overall our stay was great, the location was ideal, a short walk from the main street and beach but quiet at night for a good sleep. The room was very clean and obviously quite new. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice each morning. Unfortunately the WiFi seemed as though it was restricted, as it worked for things like Google maps etc, but social media did not work. The shower pressure was also pretty poor, like a trickle, however you could adjust the temperature! These things said we still had a great stay in El Nido and would recommend RL Harbour Inn Annex
- Samuel (3/5): Poor - We had booked the Annex hotel and when arrived they put us in the older, less nice hotel and offered a measly 5% refund. The staff were unhelpful in giving us what we paid for. I don’t recommend.
- Seth (1/5): i didnt get what i paid for, and was majorly inconvenienced. - they were over booked, and they made me use another hotel the 1st night and relocate the second day, when i already had tours booked and things to do and my wife works at night remotely so she had to wake up during her night time and switch hotels, and then the bedroom wasnt available until 1300. so i paid for this hotel for 48hrs and spent less than 24 in it. ripped off and not worth it.
- Bradley (3/5): If you had our experience, you’d warn your friends. - That we booked for only one night. Upon our arrival, the hotel staff tried to put us in a bunk room because they were “sold out” (this with a prepaid reservation). When I begun to make a fuss and question why, our room suddenly became available. The staff were either incompetent or trying to pull some kind of trick (it’s a very small hotel and they should have known better). The shower had the barest trickle of water (seriously, it would take time to fill a drinking glass with that flow). Breakfast was unavailable for the time we requested. Seemed like we had to get the staff motivated to do their jobs. The place experienced electrical brown outs, so the AC was down the first half of the night—and that little room got hot and stuffy.
- Dean (9/5): New boutique rooms in great quiet location, set only 5 min walk back from the Main St - The property is a small family run business with a really cosy vibe, but is very new build so everything was fresh.
The location was perfect for me; only two blocks back from the noise/action of El Nido tourism capital but enough to be quiet and more amongst locals. Rooms were on 2nd floor and felt quiet secure.
The staff very were attentive and helpful.
The room included an air conditioner but also a pedestal fan, which was a great addition and not offered at my other Philippine accommodation. And included a generous amount of clothes hangers Small improvement suggestions:
- Being there are lots of mosquitos in El Nido some small efforts to further seal rooms would help keep them out. eg. Silicon around air-conditioning mount, brush/seals for door.
- Shower pressure was a trickle
- מיכאל (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (7/5): Good -
- Anton (8/5): Stay in RL Harbor inn - Good value for money, The hotel is very close to the center, the staff was nice and there for us at any time. Breakfast was standard but good and tasty (takes some time for them to prepare it)
We ran into the manager of the hotel and she was super nice and friendly. There is no water for shower during all day long and our tap was broken but it didn't disturb us too much. Again - good value for money.
- Suu (6/5): Pleasant -
- Alberto (10/5): Exceptional - Very good location. My room seems to be new. Very clean and confortable. The AC makes a lot of noise.
- Edithe (10/5): This hotel is a little jewel and a rare to find, excellent place to stay. - New building. We stayed on the first floor. Excellent air-conditioning and an extra fan as well, very important.
Location, close to the city center but without the noise. Very friendly and helpful staff and owner, always quick to help out. The hotel has a little cafe where one can get a nice hot or iced coffee until late at night, no need to go out. In our case, breakfast was included and very good. A few times we experienced a power dropout but this was happening for the whole town, The hotel had a backup generator, hence, we were able to still use a fan in the room. Water shortage a few times but then again, this whole area is suffering from a long lasting drought but every time water wasn't available, the owner ordered in a truck with water, to great expense of their own to get everything to normal. So the above remedies applied to the problems was actually something to like and excellent service from the hotel.
- Sosan (3/5): Great location but unoredictable AC and running water. - Great location Water stopped running for well over an hour in the evening. Was woken up by staff at 6.50 to come into my room and switch something off. Power had gone so no air conditioning. It was 32 degrees in the room.
