• Waldemar (7/5): Paar aus Deutschland. - Wir durften am Abreisetag später als angegeben abreisen. Die Anlage war sehr sauber. Das Hotelzimmer war sehr geräumig. Das Frühstück war übersichtlich. Erst am dritten Tag gab es auch Saft dazu. Wurden leider nicht nach Allergien gefragt. Es gab morgens nur ein Gericht ohne Alternative.

The staff is super friendly and always willing to help. The served breakfast was everyday with fresh fruits and prepared with love. If we come again to El Cuyo we would book Mexhe again - 100%.
• Kara (10/5): Sister El Cuyo getaway - Pool area was wonderful and larger than expected from the pictures. Shade to escape the high UV spring sun was welcomed and needed. Pool was refreshing but not cold. Showers outdoors to irnse sand and plenty of loungers around the pool ! Breakfast was delicious each morning and staff were friendly, accommodating, and kind. Room was spacious with a wonderful balcony and drying rack. Kitchen amenities included everything needed to make simple meals, coffee in the morning and cold drinks. Only thing missing was a kitchen towel for drying hands or dishes and drinking water. A water cooler near reception would be greatly appreciated.

• Stefan (7/5): Viel Luft nach oben - Während unseres Aufenthaltes waren wenige Zimmer belegt, daher war es auch ruhig. Wir hatten ein einfaches großes Zimmer im 1. Stock (weniger Sand im Zimmer). Die Reinigung des Zimmers findet nur auf Wunsch statt, man muss in der Früh bestellen. Die Zimmer haben eine kleine Küchenzeile (mit spärlich Geschirr) und Kühlschrank und Safe, es gab keinen TV, der fehlte uns aber nicht. Das Badezimmer ist klein, aber mit großer guter Dusche. Der Liegegarten und der Pool (eine der besten auf unserer Rundreise) werden täglich in der Früh gereinigt. Der naturbelassene Strand ist in der Nähe, ca. 300 m entfernt, leider war es an beiden Tagen zu stürmisch. Lokale gibt es einige, einen kurzen Fußmarsch entfernt, man kommt aber auch mit dem Auto zu weiter entfernten Restaurants. Trotz der vielen negativen Dinge hat es uns recht gut gefallen, wir haben alle Augen zugedrückt, man könnte viel mehr draus machen. Die ganze Anlage macht irgendwie einen schlampigen, lieblosen Eindruck. Wir kamen nach 15 Uhr an, man teilte uns vorher schriftlich mit, dass der Schlüssel steckt. Wir wußten ja, dass kaum Personal da ist, aber am nächsten Tag hatten wir einen Herrn gesehen, der sich mit Gästen unterhalten hat, vielleicht war das der Chef? So haben wir auch keine Einführung bekommen, wie es abläuft mit Frühstück, Trinkwasser, Pooltücher. Badetücher haben wir Tags darauf auf Nachfrage bekommen, auch Wasser in Krügen (?), es standen keine Flaschen im Zimmer. Leider gab es auch zu wenig Ablagemöglichkeiten für nasse Handtücher, so nutzen wir dafür das Balkongeländer draussen. Man sollte sich etwas mehr um seine Gäste kümmern! So auch etwas auf Frühstückswünsche der Gäste eingehen (trotz vorheriger Bekanntgabe von Unverträglichkeiten). Es gibt täglich 1 Frühstück, weiteres wird nicht angeboten. Das waren bei uns am 1. Tag Tortillas, am 2. eine Eierspeise. Da von uns einer keine Eier isst, wurden es auch wieder Tortillas; Sonst gibt es noch eine Schalte Obst, Kaffee und Tee wird nachgeschenkt. Auf Wünsche kann man nicht eingehen, weil die Möglichkeiten in der Küche sehr eingeschränkt sind. Die recht lieben Küchendamen starten auch erst um 9 Uhr früh und verstanden keinerlei Englisch, dann war noch kurz das Putzpersonal zu sehen. Zu unserer Zeit (März 26) waren 4 oder 5 Zimmer besetzt. So "registriert" wie wir gekommen waren, sind wir auch wieder abgefahren. Aus dem Laden könnte man viel mehr machen, es würde eine Person reichen, die am Nachmittag Musik macht oder auch Drinks ausschenkt. Denn am Strand gibt es keinerlei Liegen oder ähnliches. Ein "lustiges" Erlebnis am Rande: Beim Frühstück trinke ich meinen Kaffee mit Zucker. Ich verlangte nach einem Löffel, der fehlte am Tisch. Sie hat kurz in der Küche gekramt und ihn dann auf dem Weg zurück zu mir mit Ihrer Küchenschürze abgewischt, bevor sie ihn mir gab. Passt doch, oder ;-)

• Zur (10/5): Great hotel with big pool you can swim in, much recommended! - We loved the pool area and the location - very close to the beach but in the quiet part of El Cuyo. Room was big and nice, located on the ground floor with direct access to the pool. Shaded parking was very nice. Overall great price / quality ratio. Breakfast was good but not amazing, but aligned with the price for the night.
• Adrian (9/5): - I extended my stay twice for a total of 2 weeks. Its in a great location, a few mins walk away from cafe's, and only mins away from the quite end of the beach. Good kitchen, just bring food as there's no chance of supermarkets within an hours drive. Needed more lounge chairs in the shade. Bring food to cook. There's no supermarkets near by. Shower head squirts in every direction except where you are. Water takes forever to heat up.
• Hermelinda Lisseth (5/5): TOMEN EN CUENTA IMPORTANTE !! - La ubicación y las camas , almohadas cómodas y que limpiaban las habitaciones. Los cuartos de la habitacion donde me hospede no tiene cortinas Blackout por lo tanto ya que empieza a salir el sol no puedes descansar bien por que entra toda la luz y es un buen punto ya que no descansas y a eso vaz,tambien en la noche prenden luces en el área de las albercas y entra toda esa luz. Otra cosa que a partir de las 3 aproximadamente ya nadie te contesta si ocupas algo. Los puntos que vienen aquí de que respetes a los demás inquilinos, no hacer fiestas y demás cosas que se mencionan son falsas ya que si llegan inquilinos ruidosos ponen musica a todo volumen, gritan a altas horas de la noche y nadie te resuelve ni te apoya en esos temas ni los dueños y eso que el hospedaje es caro para lo que ofrece ya estando ahí, los desayunos repito para el precio son muy escasos solo ofrecen un platillo por día pero en verdad son tan pequeños que nada que ver al precio que se está cobrando. Y el Internet la mayor parte de mi estancia fallo, en verdad esperaba más de este lugar ya que por su precio si hay otras opciones en esa ubicación mejor ya que lo estuve checando. Ojo te dejan agua en el refrigerador uno piensa que es cortesía como cualquier hotel y nada al final te cobran cada una en 20 pesos y son pequeñas. Estaría excelente recibir un reembolso por no cumplir con lo esperado.

• Maria (10/5): Best choice - Sehr leckeres und abwechslungsreiches Frühstück am Ort der Wahl (im Zimmer, auf dem Balkon, am Pool). Wegen einer gebuchten Tour einmal auch schon um 7.30. Ich habe mich rundum wohl gefühlt, das Personal ist extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit. Alles ist fußläufig erreichbar, einfach perfekt!!!

It was a quiet time when we were there and the hammocks at the pool were a perfect spot to relax. The room was spacious. Everything we needed was there. And we loved the breakfast. Every morning it's a surprise what we got for breakfast, everything is homemade that morning. Thank you! During our stay the cleaning of the bathroom could have been a bit more thorough.
• Katharina (9/5): Super schöne Unterkunft. - Tolle Unterkunft, schöne, saubere und große Zimmer. Lage war auch perfekt, 3 Minuten bis zum Strand und zum Marktplatz. Zwar nur 4 Liegen am Pool, aber auch zwei Hängematten und rund um den Pool ist Sand. Man könnte sich also auch dort mit einem Handtuch hinlegen. Leider kann man beim frühstücken nicht mitentscheiden was es zu essen gibt. Den einen Morgen gab es Pancakes und den nächsten Morgen Omelett. Leider wurde nicht gefragt ob ich zb Tomate in meinem Omelett haben möchte. Jammern auf hohem Niveau, aber das sollte man beachten, wenn man nicht alles isst.
• Pamela (9/5): Hotellet var det bästa med El Cuyo! - Superfin svit med 3 rum och lliten veranda som var väldigt uppskattad. Personalen var mycket välkomnande och kommunicerade med oss på whatsapp inför och under vistelsen. Ett personligt och väl omhändertaget hotell! Hade uppskattat om det fanns fler solsängar runt poolen, det fanns enstaka ledig ibland men inte till hela familjen.

• Luca (6/5): Lots of potential but currently expensive for the price - We stayed in a family room at Hotel Mexhe, and the room itself was comfortable and fairly clean. The same-day laundry service was genuinely helpful and reasonably priced. This was a real plus during our stay. At around £120 per night, the stay felt expensive for what was actually provided, and the overall value didn’t match the price. Breakfast was very limited: one small plate per person (though it changed daily), only filtered coffee or tea, and no decaf, juice, or other alternatives. Several basic comforts were missing, including drinking water, and there were very few sun loungers for the number of guests. Reception closed at 3:30pm, which meant there was no support available in the evenings. Only 4 sun beds at the pool for 10+ rooms. Given that the beach is wild and has no facilities, providing sun umbrellas for guests to take to the beach would greatly improve the experience. In the room, toiletries were minimal (no conditioner), there was no hairdryer, and the body wash appeared diluted after the first day. One evening I needed to dry my hair but couldn’t, as reception was already closed. It was cold and windy that night, which made this particularly uncomfortable. Although a safe was installed in the room, it wasn’t working, and we were told there was no alternative available. We were only given one room key, which felt inconvenient and unsafe in case it had been lost.

• Megan (9/5): Comfortable, hospitable, close to the beach + yummy breakfast! - The bed was comfy. The shower had hot water consistently and great water pressure. The breakfast was yummy and came with fruit each day. The AC worked great. The location - one block from the beach! The staff who brought our food and cleaned our room were lovely, and there was always someone to answer my questions on WhatsApp quickly. The bathroom drains smell a bit funky, but this is common in Mexican coastal towns. Opening the bathroom window was helpful!

Las vistas a las palmeras desde cualquier sitio eran divinas y agradecemos el esfuerzo del personal para adaptar el desayuno a la intolerancia alimenticia de mi marido La cocina no estaba equipada. La habitación tenía una ollita sin tapa y una tabla de cortar (ni sartén, ni cuchillos,...) Sería ideal tener dos sillas en el balcón para poder aprovechar el espacio y alguna lámpara con luz suficiente pero indirecta en la habitación

Nettes Personal. Am Abreisetag haben sie extra früher Frühstück für uns gemacht. Gepflegte Anlage. Frühstück war lecker und abwechslungsreich. Am Pool gab es nur 4 Liegen, war aber kein Problem. Dachterrassen wurden nicht genutzt. Frühstück war etwas wenig.

• Liv (10/5): A beautiful, peaceful hotel with amazing staff and exceptional value for money. - Best hotel in Yucatán! We traveled all over the Yucatán Peninsula and this was by far the best value for money we experienced. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean, with gorgeous, spacious rooms and incredibly comfortable beds. Everything is stylishly decorated while still feeling genuine and cozy. The pool and surroundings are incredibly welcoming and peaceful, and we truly could not have wished for anything more. The staff are absolutely charming and always helpful, which made our stay even more special. That we couldn’t stay longer

Leider war es nicht möglich, Frühstück um 7.45 zu bekommen. Das Frühstück um 8 Uhr war auch nicht fertig. Leider mussten wir ohne Frühstück um 8.15 fahren.

• Charles (10/5): - Hôtel situé dans un endroit calme, à quelques minutes à pied de la plage. Personnel très sympathique et aimable. Le logement est bien équipé et confortable. Petit déjeuner change chaque jour. Belle piscine.
• Franc (10/5): Best relaxing way to see the real side of Mexico! - El Cuyo in general is wonderful. Our family suite was really huge and neat. Staff is friendly and pool is great. If you’re here for kitesurfing, be aware that it is not allowed to kitesurf on the beach in front of the hotel. It is only allowed to kite east of the pier, where the schools are. We were not aware of that, but we rented a storage in one of the schools and saved the problem. Also…maybe a bit more breakfast choices would be great.
• Hannah (10/5): Schönes und ruhiges Hotel - Wir hatten mit unserem Kleinkind einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt im Mexhe Hotel und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Hotel ist sehr schön und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, das Personal sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, der Garten ist sehr gepflegt und hübsch mit schönem Pool, es gibt eine Dachterrasse mit schöner Aussicht und leckeres, abwechslungsreiches und frisch zubereitetes Frühstück. Unser Zimmer war sehr groß und die Betten bequem, es gab eine Klimaanlage und einen Ventilator. Es gibt vor der Balkontür und dem Fenster ein Fliegengitter - was wichtig ist, denn es gibt viele Mücken und Fliegen. Das Bad war zwar eher klein aber funktional (mit Duschgel und Shampoo) und es gab wenn gewünscht auch täglich Zimmerreinigung. Die Fenster waren zur Straße raus, aber es war sehr ruhig - wir wurden lediglich morgens früh von den Vögeln geweckt. Auch von den Zimmernachbar*innen hat man nichts mitbekommen. Der Strand ist in zwei Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Das WLAN hat nicht gut funktioniert. Die Küche ist nur minimal ausgestattet - wir haben dort nicht selbst gekocht, da es auch kaum Einkaufsmöglichkeiten vor Ort gibt und wir nicht selbst kochen wollten.
• Cornelia (10/5): Schöner Aufenthalt in authentischer Umgebung - Zimmer und auch alle anderen Hotelbereiche inkl. Pool sehr sauber. Zum Meer nur ein kleiner Weg von 100m. Schöner Blick von der Dachterrasse. Sehr nettes Personal, gutes Frühstück, Zimmerservice nur auf Anforderung, bequemes Bett, toll die Küchenzeile mit Herd und Kühlschrank und Kaffeemaschine. Alles fußläufig erreichbar, gute Auskunft an der Rezeption zu Bus und Touren. Wir würden wiederkommen. Das Licht im Bad hat nicht funktioniert-bei Nacht sehr unpraktisch, denn es wird schon früh dunkel. Wlan hat nicht immer gut funktioniert. Das Kopfkissen ist sehr hart.

• Anna (10/5): Lovely Spot in El Cuyo - The property seems to be brand new, clean and well thought through. Super close to the centre and the beach. All the restaurants are also a walking distance away. The hotel is tucked away so the street parking in front of it worked well for us. With a nice pool, lots of fairly lights and well-taken care of territory - we really enjoyed our stay. Kitchen was equipped with all the basic utensils. When we felt like we want something specific for breakfast - we cooked at home. If we felt lazy - we could grab a nice, simple breakfast from the hotel. All the staff were incredibly helpful!! A huge plus was very polite, instant contact via Whasapp. Anything we asked for - we were provided with that. 10/10 stay - loved it! N/A

• Liz_RG (9/5): Hermoso lugar - La habitación muy agradable y con el equipo necesario en la cocina, bien equipado. Muy acogedor. La alberca tranquila y el área confortable. El personal muy atento y amable. Todo limpio. Bien ubicado. El aire acondicionado de la habitación pequeña no funcionaba bien. No enfriaba lo reporté pero no lo corrigieron. Teníamos que dejar la puerta abierta del cuarto y el aire de la sala encendido para que refrescars la recámara. La chapa de la puerta principal no servia, al no haber seguridad o alguien del hotel de guardia en la noche me daba un poco de miedo que alguien pudiera entrar al hotel. Pero parece que el área es muy segura. La playa está muy sucia, esto no es culpa del hotel, pero sí es una pena la playa tan linda y a la vez con tanta basura, ojalá hagan algún programa de limpieza y concientización. Mejor la pasamos en la alberca y en el centro. Como sugerencia me hubiera gustado una cama más grande para poder dormir más comodos con mi niño. Al menos tamaño queen.
• Isabel (6/5): - Buena ubicación Todas las toallas estaban sucias con manchas. El aire condicionado no funcionaba en una de las habitaciones. El personal se ofreció en arreglar el aire pero cómo la estancia era corta y queríamos dejar cosas de valor dentro decidimos no hacerlo por ese tiempo.

• Karen Niubó (7/5): Lugar espectacular, servicio regular. - La habitación estaba decorada con gusto, también el hotel en general. La piscina es muy bonita y estaba limpia. Las toallas y sábanas tenían grandes manchas. Pedimos que las cambiaran y se las llevaron pero nunca trajeron toallas limpias de vuelta. La limpieza de la habitación podría haber estado mejor.

• Can (10/5): Agradable y tranquilo - Excelente instalaciones, ubicación y tranquilidad. El mobiliario es nuevo y limpio. Hay hamaquitas para descansar junto a la alberca. La playa esta a escasos pasos de las instalaciones. Incluye desayuno, pero no hay variedad.

• Fredrik (10/5): Hidden Gem - Perfect location. Walking distance to the beach and centre of El Cuyo. Lots of space in the room. Great Pool Area. Friendly staff. As a family with kids the breakfast was a bit on the down side. Would have preferred a bit more standard breakfast.
• Mariana (10/5): Great atmosphere at Mexhe! - I really liked the pool, the size and amenities of the rooms/apartments, the location, the hotel atmosphere with the big chairs and hamacas, and the staff, they were very kind. The pool was religiously cleaned every day, and it was needed, because the wind blew a lot of sand and leaves inside the pool. The breakfasts were also good and the staff was very accommodating if we wanted less number of breakfasts or juice instead of coffee, etc. I would have liked that the fridge of room 1 would have worked. The fridge was not cooling and we used the freezer as fridge, but it froze everything. We reported it to the local staff and they disconnected it and connected it again, but it didn’t improve.

• James (6/5): Quiet. Tranquil. Windy in the PM, unreliable internet and cell service. - This is a remote destination- literally at the end of the fiber optic line. The WiFi never worked while we stayed here and the cell service for the area went out after two days. There is great wind for kite boarding, but also some sea grass that make swimming unpleasant.
• Leticia (10/5): Beauty, relax and easy going - Location is perfect. Just 2 mins walking from the beach. 5 mins from town. El Cuyo is a small town out from big noise, big hotels. This is a place to rest and to enjoy the kilometers of white sand along the beach Staff, cleanness. Joaquin the manager is proactive and replies in short time to any request.
• Carole (10/5): This hotel is a gem! - Everything! It’s a beautiful hotel, clean, comfortable beds, a yummy breakfast served to the room and it’s 200 steps to an amazing beach! The kitchenette allowed us to cook some of our own meals.

Breakfast brought to our room was a nice bonus and each day was a different dish. Pool cleaned daily, 2 min walk to the beach. One of the best stays out of our 2 weeks in the Yucatan region.

• Yaniv (8/5): Very good - The hotel is newly built, very close to the beach and very nice staff It seems it is lack of hotel hospitality touch paying attention. To details. No night lamps, no curtain on one of the windows, after 16:00 very little contact with the guests. We are not a high demand couple, but hospitality is all about the details 😉
• Lebel (7/5): If sunny and hot it's perfectly reasonable. Great location. - We liked the cleanliness of the room and the spaciousness, it was also a really comfortable bed. The air con or fan was suitable. The pool was ok though not heated. The breakfast was cute, very simple, not fancy. We were unfortunate with the weather, which meant there was very little sun and it was raining and stormy. This meant we had no hot water at all, it made it very cold and uncomfortable for us. The kitchen is sparsely equipped so we couldn't really make meals from there. I think they'll improve, and if there had been sun, we would have been happy enough to stay there. Breakfast is very small and the coffee isn't great. But it was a cute touch.
