Guest Reviews
- Sue (8/5): Pascal was very accommodating, great communication, Miriam was lovely and very helpful, the house has all that is needed - Good amenities and lovely staff. Both were very helpful and lovely.
- Miroslav (8/5): - It is an original house, but well preserved, I appreciate the swimming pool. Very helpful Mrs. Miriam. dirty beach, unfortunately there is no accommodation, it is a public beach without cleaning. We were there during the period when the ocean was dangerous (currents, waves) so we had to use only the pool. There are no sun loungers, the replacement is bean bags.
- Shivani (10/5): Perfect location - The property is very quiet and beautiful. It is very easy to access the town and shops to buy food and groceries.
The beach is right next to the house and the view is spectacular.
Mariam takes care of everything. She is very friendly and kind. She was always available and goes the extra mile to help.
In summary, this is a perfect location to stay and enjoy Trincomalee.
- Kathryn (10/5): Didn’t want to leave - We had an absolutely fantastic time at La Maison. The upstairs, where the bedrooms were (with a kitchenette and living area), was cosy and quiet. Downstairs (via a private staircase) the pool room, swimming pool, sitting area were fab and we used them every evening. The downstairs kitchen is really well equipped and is where Miriam (and her family - thank you) works her culinary magic. There is a lovely dining area, with shutter doors so you can be inside/outside. A few simple steps down and you are on the beach and in the sea. Contact with Pascal, the owner, was great and we felt so welcome. The bedroom decor could maybe do with a little refresh but did not detract from the comfort. A thick curtain between the adjoining rooms would make it more private/quiet when using these as two separate rooms.
- Piet (2/5): Nice house, awful owner. - Only 2 stars:
One for Miriam, the actual caretaker, who was kind and capable.
And one for the house, which is really great.
BUT. The owner, Pascal, is a big disappointment.
I booked the property months ago. According to the add, no downpayment was needed. But Pascal started pushing me through personal messages. He wanted me to pay the full amount, months in advance, and called it a downpayment. He also asked to see a copy of my plane ticket. I had to contact booking.com to intervene.
But a few weeks later he started pushing AGAIN for money. In the end I paid him in full, weeks before my trip to SL.
As soon as Pascal got his money, he turned very quiet...
Let me just mention at this point that he's French, and not Sri Lankan.
Oh and one more thing: in the ad, Pascal mentions Miriam, the caretaker, saying how HE TRAINED HER WELL. That is such a foul thing to say. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall while Pascal taught her how to hold a broom!
The other way around, more likely!
- Kerryn (10/5): Absolutely gorgeous relaxing property on beachfront. - It was beautiful
It was private
Had everything we needed
Miriam is an excellent cook
- Carol (5/5): Couples trip to Trincomalee - On the beachfront
Has a washing machine and pool
Miriam who is available to assist on site is lovely
Bathrooms were relatively new and clean
Met a helpful neighbour and has a real local feel Very Rustic - not luxury
Uncomfortable beds
Lounge unusable as no air con
Beach out front lots of rubbish due to construction site next door
Not at the tourist end of town so less restaurants
- Berends (10/5): We had a joyful stay at a beautifull beach. We can recommmend it! - Very pleasant place with good communication with the owner. Very tastefull breakfast and a fantastic cook!
- Iris (9/5): Gorgeous property, right on the beach, fabulous pool and facilities. - Close to the beach, great pool, cool air conditioning in every room, nice relaxing facilities, great decor, nice layout, billiard room, tv room, lovely large kitchen (downstairs), kayaks, washing machine. In the city centre, not close to the more touristy parts of Trinco.
- Jeremy (10/5): Fantastic relaxing stay with everything you could wish for in property and location - Everything! Amazing property and facilities. Great location with beach access. And of course Miriam who looked after us during our stay with lovely local food
As someone once said ‘this one goes to 11’ 🙂 Nothin
- Owen (10/5): Exceptional -
