Guest Reviews
- Casper Bergflødt (10/5): Cosy place with great surroundings. Everything we needed. Host was very kind, accommodating. - Great location, comfortable house. Wonderful host.
- Ирина (9/5): - It has everything you need for a stay, even iron and airfryer. Lots of storage, pots and pans, utensils for cooking at home. Compact but nice, clean and obviously taken care of, also good price for such accommodation. 25 - 30 minuts walk to centre. Nearby are Co-op, Tesco and Asda. Only small issue probably is squeaky stairs.
- Kim (9/5): Lovely little house in an ideal location for me as it is within walking g distance of family -
- Luke (10/5): - Great facilities, clean, ideal for my purposes. It's not particularly central, but it's near bus routes. I'd recommend it as a place to stay and explore Harrogate and surrounding areas.
- Michael (8/5): A nice little townhouse for a short stay on the edge of town - A nice little townhouse, surprisingly well equipped and very suitable for a couple or single traveller to stay towards the edge of Harrogate. There is a small garden with seating area. The property was furnished to the standard of a home (functional but not luxurious), clean, with on-street parking in a quiet area and good wifi connection. The host communicated well with us before our stay and everything worked as expected. Overall it was excellent value for money when compared with similar properties. Parking was on a narrow road, so half on the kerb, although with no problem finding a space and little traffic. The location is quiet but a little way out of town. There is a spiral staircase to reach the bedroom and bathroom, which may not suit some people.

- Ian (10/5): Everything required, close to town in a quiet area. Owner left clear instructions - Everything required, close to town in a quiet area. Owner left clear instructions Stairs
- Kay (5/5): Nice property, just not suitable for us, really. - Lots of extras included. Free WiFi, Sky package, toiletries and washing up liquid etc in the well equipped kitchen. Comfortable bed (a little low down, for us). Shower room had everything needed & more. I am certain that this accommodation would suit many people, but, we are both partially disabled, so we found the 12 stone steps up to the front door, and the stunning spiral staircase a big challenge. Neither of these were mentioned on the website. The floors creaked terribly.
- Christina (8/5): -
- Jonathan (6/5): - There was a good bus service near to the house.
Good sized shower with plenty of water pressure. The house was located in a housing estate. The front of the house looked neglected. The back garden was not good, it was steep, very overlooked with brambles growing over the fence. Not pleasant to sit in at. all.
The spiral staircase was very noisy. The shower enclosure looked uninviting with black mould in the corners.
- Denise (9/5): A clean, comfortable place to return to after long days - The accommodation was the perfect place to stay after visiting the sites of the area each day. The townhouse was comfortable and well equipped. It was quiet and the area safe.
- Dominic (10/5): Exceptional - A great little place, convenient location, quiet and comfortable.
Getting the key was easy, communication and check in instructions were clear as well.
Great stay and 100% recommend. Nothing
- Michael (9/5): Superb - The house was clean and contained everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We could walk into town and easily access other places we wanted to visit.
- Olly (7/5): Not cheap for one person, but spacious, clean, and quiet. - Was a whole small house. Comfortable and clean. On the edge of town, about a 20-30 minute walk to the town centre, in a quiet neighbourhood. Quite expensive for my purposes. Would have been good value for 2 people, but this was the cheapest I could find with acceptable reviews.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matt (9/5): Clean and well supplied small house - Very clean and easy to access. Well supplied kitchen and bathroom. Perfect for solo traveler or a couple for a short stay Not the most comfy sofa and bed
A bit out of the way if you want to spend time in Harrogate town centre
- Juliet (9/5): Superb - Well equipped and comfortable house, within walking distance of town (20-30minutes). There is also a coop supermarket and a bus stop not far away. The garden could have been nicer, although we didn't want to sit out while we were there.
- Nicholas (9/5): A good place away from the centre of Harrogate - Privacy and good facilities
- Beverley (9/5): Superb - Very clean, everything you could need, value for money We walked in to harrogate twice but found the walk abit long probably due to some of the inclines and our age, but this didn't stop us from relaxing inside this lovely property
- Bateman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (9/5): Lovely stay. We really had a fantastic weekend break - Nice and cosy and easy access to all of Harrogate delights
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Nick (2/5): Very disappointed - Location Booked for 3 nights and checked out after one .Loose slab on the steps leading to the house which was a trip hazard. The stairs were very creaky and and we didn't feel safe using them. Floor boards throughout were very squeaky. Uncomfortable low bed which creaked every time I moved , wife slept downstairs on the sofa because of the stairs.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Keen (8/5): Tidy little home with all conveniences. - More spacious than expected. Easy no fuss check in and check out. Full kitchen and garden access. Thin walls so neighbours doors and movements a little audible.
- Sue (9/5): Well equipped and good value Harrogate stay. - A clean and very well and thoughtfully equipped one bedroom house. Outside Harrogate centre with easy parking outside. I liked the walk-in shower in the bathroom. There was plenty of hot water. It worked well for us with an event at the show ground/event centre one day and RHS garden Harlow Carr just over 10 minutes drive away on another. I appreciated the coffee machine and supplies. The kitchen was suited to self catering and the information provided clear. The stay was good value. There are steps without a handrail up to the front door and a spiral staircase to the first floor. I am disabled and could just manage the front steps with my husband’s help. The spiral staircase was just doable with care for me. I would have preferred to know about the access first. Perhaps I should have asked.
- Gail (6/5): It was ok - It was near Harrogate Town Centre The creaky floors and staircase. The oven was dirty.
- Chelsie (10/5): Exceptional - Everything you need and more for a short stay in Harrogate
- Rachael (10/5): Great home from home stay - It was easy to access the property with the code. It was well furnished and very comfortable. I slept very well there and having the kitchen meant I could prepare packed lunches for my hikes and have a nice dinner once I got home. The area was nice and quiet. There is a lovely little back yard but the weather was not permitting a cup of tea in the garden.
- Hannah (9/5): A great stay in a quiet suburb with amenities close by and a beautifully presented house. - The house was presented very well, with everything I needed for my 2 night stay. I couldn't find a hairdryer but that may have been my fault not looking hard enough. Apart from that no dislikes at all
- Joshua (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paula (10/5): Exceptional - Very welcoming, stunning little townhouse. Exceptionally clean and well stocked with everything you might need. Highly recommended 👌 Nothing!
- Richard (8/5): Comfortable and homely will stay again when back in the area. - Cosy little place and very comfortable with everything I needed to feel like home for my stay.
- Phoenix (7/5): Good -
- Margaret (8/5): Great trip. Comfortable, warm accommodation in a quiet, convenient location. Highly recommended. - The property was very clean, comfortable, warm and quite well equipped.
It was very convenient to all locations; Harrogate, York etc - a great spot for sightseeing. It was also very quiet, which was nice. The only thing I can suggest would be to put a large saucepan in the kitchen. Other than that I think it has everything you could need.
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Frost (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kristen (9/5): Superb -
- Aung (8/5): We will back again in December. - Clean , quiet place to stay and the host is very helpful
- Nicholas (10/5): Nice hideaway from the hustle and bustle of Harrogate - Quirky layout with spiral staircase spiral staircase was a bit noisy
- Sylvia (10/5): Exceptional - Locality and facilities
- Victoria (8/5): We enjoyed our stay at the property and it was a good location for us. - The ability to have somewhere to chill a hotel bedroom after a hectic day was great as the property in in a very quiet residential location, with kerbside parking.
Working at the exhibition center it was an easy drive into the town centre but time needed to be allowed for the peak travel time traffic. However the path and steps from the pavement to the house plus a spiral staircase could possibly be challenging for someone with limited mobility.
- Luke (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (10/5): Weekend away - Value for money
Everything you need, bedding, towels, full compliment of kitchen equipment, cooker microwave washing machine Nothing
- Rob (9/5): Wonderfully comfortable and well laid out house - A very comfortable and well equipped property. The layout and facilities were great Could do with a outside porch/welcome light
- Michael (9/5): Great property close to city - Excellent location on the outskirts of the city. Good bus network. Quiet Not disabled/elderly suitable.
- Kev (8/5): Great - Great communication from the owner.
Clean, comfortable and everything you needed.
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - clean, comfortable and quiet location close to the town centre and theatres.. we would have no hesitation in using this property again
- Bob (9/5): Superb - Clean comfortable and well equipped Unfortunately I am disabled and found access to property extremely difficult with no handrail and suggest reference to this is shared on property details
Spiral staircase should also be mentioned for older and disabled people
- Caroline (5/5): Property central for North Yorkshire attractions. - Central location for North Yorkshire. Property not cleaned to a high standard. Shower had not been cleaned properly. Dust in places.
Mattress had no mattress protector nor pillow
Protectors. Hair found on windowsill in the bedroom. No kerb appeal. Loose paving stone outside front door. Property was not left sufficiently clean for the guest.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Jane (7/5): Good value - fair for the price. Pretty much everything you need for a simple stay. - The property is in a quiet, residential location - a sort of housing estate - with little or no local traffic.
If you like walking, its a pleasant 25 min walk from the Harrogate Convention Centre, some of it through greenery (which is great for daylight hours but I would choose an alternative route after dark).
There is a big Aldi and a small local grocery store both less than 10 mins walk away for provisions.
Nice warm bathroom, and fresh smelling towels and bedding.
Sky TV. The decor in the property is a little tired and could do with a refresh.
The water pressure and temperature in the shower was erratic on both days of my stay.
- Richard (5/5): Very disappointing. Poor communication, broken shower, dirty bathroom, cheap furnishings. Not good! - Keys were easy to collect - once I'd actually got a response from the owner.
The property and the road were surprisingly quiet so we did get a good night's sleep - until it got light (see below)
Comfortable bed. Honestly this place wasn't great. It's clearly been done up quickly and as cheaply as possible to rent out, with poor quality fit and finish everywhere, and no pride being taken over the property or in letting it out - it's just a money-maker.
The owner ignored my messages via Booking.com to find out what to do on arrival, and eventually when I texted him a few days before, he sent over snapshots of texts he'd sent someone else - complete with her name on it! The WiFi code he gave was also wrong.
There was no info on arrival in the house (e.g. for wifi code, local info) or anything at all.
The bathroom wasn't clean - there was hair in the shower drain and around the toilet. The mirrors hadn't been cleaned in months, the windows don't properly open or shut, the curtains throughout the house are paper thin so the room is like daylight at dawn, the towels were small and losing threads, ...
I hate to go on, but... the boiler had been completely switched off so we had no heating or water (until I turned it on myself once I'd figured out why the shower was cold), and the thermostatic shower control is broken so you might get water, you might get a trickle. In the end we abandoned trying to have a shower as it wasn't worth the frustration.
Overall we found it just about acceptable for a one night stay and were glad we weren't staying longer.
I find it amazing this place has good reviews. We're not particularly picky, we just look for a place being clean, quiet and having a good shower and comfy bed and a bit of pride in the property from the owner. I guess it was at least quiet and had a comfy bed but the rest was definitely substandard.
- Mel (8/5): Good kitchen facilities as I needed to be in and out quickly. - Quiet and comfortable
- Ross (9/5): Superb - Good base for the event I was attending. Clean and comfortable. Good TV and sky which is mint for a solo traveller. Slept well. Parking situation. Nice imprint of the neighbours car in my bumper 🤬
- Terry (7/5): proximity to Harrogate was good . - The key code given to us by Booking .com was incorrect.Fortunately we were lucky enough to speak with owner and he gave us the correct number.
It would have been extremely helpful to have had some written instructions say for the heating and water system and for the Sky operated television.
- Phillips (8/5): Very good -
- Jeremy (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (8/5): Very good - Very easy host to deal with, house couple of mins drive from town centre and 10 mins drive from my job. House had everything i needed for a comfortable stay.
- Hannah (8/5): we had a very enjoyable stay in Harrogate. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. - nice and warm, clean and comfortable
- Kim (9/5): Superb -
- Christopher (8/5): Very good -
- Artemis (10/5): Brilliant stay - Nice, clean, comfortable
- Roger (8/5): Good! Ideal for my working trip. - Comfortable with good amenities. Fresh milk in the fridge! Had trouble finding the front door in the dark - it’s round the side and the number doesn’t show up, even with a light shining shining on it.
- Kerry (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely lovely house Mike the owner couldn't do enough for us and I cant recommend him highly enough and a credit too him aswell as being very reasonably priced (too cheap if ya ask me) Nothing, kettle has funny smell, messaged him and he brought a brand new one round within the hour!!!!
