Staff were friendly and anything we asked about was provided, room was comfy with a street view. There was a local shop and fish and chip shop across the road we ate 1 night in the pub which was good food All good
• frances (2/5): Overpriced, would not return - The property was clean enough and staff were fairly helpful, but would not recommend for the price we paid. Completely overpriced and unfairly marketed. It’s on a busy main road above a pub, it’s not a hotel at all, there was no breakfast, poor facilities, no privacy or sound insulation etc. Fine if marketed as a room above a pub and was more honest but was not 120 quids worth of accommodation. Explained this to the helpful staff who agreed the owner had agreed to give a discount, but this never materialised and then was denied when I followed up so ended up with £20 off for 3 night stay which was not what was agreed and nowhere near sufficient. Suggest being more clear with the marketing and bringing prices down to make it fair to future customers.

• Smith (8/5): - A very warm welcome when we arrived, a very comfortable place, The locals were friendly I was looking for bed & breakfast, I was a little disappointed there wasn't breakfast but if we had had breakfast then we probably wouldn't have had a lovely walk around penzance 😊😊

We assumed it was a cooked but it was a continental which is fine but the breakfast location was situated in the landing area which felt odd as people walked in and out of their rooms. However it was perfectly adequate.

• John (10/5): Wonderful and relaxing - It is a comfortable friendly hotel. Have stayed there a number of times and will do so again. There is nothing to say in this category as all was fine.

• Jim (3/5): Never to be repeated. - Nothing Abysmal bed which ought to have been replaced when the room was refurbished. The shower over the bath was badly fitted, consequently when taking a shower the room was flooded .

• Elisabetta (8/5): Overall rating: 8/10 - Overall rating: 8/10 It could easily have been a 10 if it weren’t for the breakfast. The rooms were spotless and recently renovated. The furniture was simple but very tasteful, and the bathroom was spacious and extremely clean. Bed linen and towels were perfect, and the mattress was very comfortable. The rooms are located inside a beautiful, traditional British pub, which adds to the charm. The main downside was breakfast. It was set up on a sideboard right by the entrance to the rooms. In the end it was fine — with cereals, bread, and jams — but unfortunately everything was pre-packaged. We were also disappointed to find there was no real breakfast service, especially since other reviews mentioned a great English buffet breakfast. Hot drinks were just the ones provided in the room. We ended up having breakfast in the pub garden, which made it more pleasant, but carrying everything up and down was not ideal.

Colazione orribile: al nostro arrivo ci è stato indicato un mobile nel corridoio dove la mattina seguente abbiamo trovato una colazione scarsa, con roba confezionata (anche l’uva era ancora nella confezione del supermercato, da lavare!) e nessuna bevanda calda. Abbiamo dovuto farci il caffè liofilizzato con il bollitore della camera… Rapporto qualità prezzo davvero sfavorevole!!!

• Sabine (6/5): - Das Zimmer hatte ein großes Badezimmer, wir konnten kostenlos parken. Gegenüber gibt es einen kleinen Supermarkt . Das Essen unten in der Kneipe hat ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Die Auswahl vom Frühstück, das auf dem Flur angeboten wurde, war für uns ausreichend. Der Schlafraum wurde fast komplett von den Betten eingenommen. Man hatte zu viert keine Bewegungsfreiheit. Das Zimmer roch sehr, sehr, sehr unangenehm bei unserer Ankunft. Sehr wahrscheinlich das Reinigungsmittel. Nachdem wir komplett gelüftet haben, ging es. Samstags wird mit Englisch breakfast geworben. Leider wurde dieses nicht serviert. Sehr schade, wäre eine nette Alternative zum Frühstück gewesen, dass im Flur angeboten wurde. Da der Raum zum Frühstück für uns nicht einladend aussah und es auch unangenehm gerochen hat, haben wir beschlossen auf dem Zimmer zu frühstücken.

• Volodymyr (8/5): Overall a good hotel, but important details were missing... - The room was spacious and very clean, with a surprisingly large bathroom. It was also a nice touch that they offer a complimentary continental breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful, which I really appreciated. The hotel also has its own large car park, which is a big plus in this area, and the price was very reasonable for the location. However, I found it unacceptable that loud music from the bar continued until midnight. It completely contradicts the idea of a good night's rest for hotel guests. When the music plays, the entire room literally shakes from the noise. According to the menu in the room, the bar is supposed to close at 22:00 — this was clearly not the case during our stay. I believe it is only fair that the presence of a bar with loud music playing until 00:00 is clearly stated in the room and hotel description on Booking.com, so that potential guests can make an informed choice. I was travelling with a small child, and after a 7-hour drive the noise made it impossible for us to relax properly. If I had been travelling just with my wife, I would probably have enjoyed spending the evening in the bar — and in that case I wouldn’t have minded the location above it. But for families with children or those looking for a quiet rest, this is something that needs to be communicated in advance.

• Paula (3/5): Poor - Convenient location It is not a hotel. It is a room above a pub. The owners live on same floor and smoke. There is also a crying baby. Bed not very comfy. Poor continental breakfast. Had bad nights sleep and left early. Very expensive for what is basically a B and B.
