- Lia (8/5): Great location, perfect for large groups - Lovely house located walking distance to Napier amenities including aquarium, beach, cafes, and bars. Views of the sea and the Ruahines were gorgeous. They also accommodated us as we were travelling with a baby. They had a cot readjust to go! Everything was good, only issue we had was that the dishwasher was not working well.

- Renjith1985 (10/5): - Exceptional Stay in Napier: A Beautiful Retreat by the Beach
I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful house near Napier city, just a short walk from the beach. The view was spectacular, especially during sunset. I could watch the sun set from the kitchen while sipping coffee, and the same view was equally mesmerizing from the front terrace.
The house was spacious, with enough beds to accommodate more than 10 people comfortably. The parking was convenient, with space for more than 3 cars, and if planned well, we could fit one more. The rooms were large and perfect for kids to play around. The landlord was incredibly sweet, even providing chips and noodles for us upon arrival.
The kitchen had a modern coffee maker, and plenty of utensils, all in great condition. There are two toilets – one upstairs near the kitchen and another downstairs, where we had access to a Jacuzzi/hot tub that could also double as a shower. The only thing missing was an exhaust fan in the bottom toilet, but the two large windows made it easy to ventilate the space.
While there is a railway path near the house, it wasn’t a problem at all. After 9 pm, there were no trains, and with the doors closed, we didn’t hear a sound. As someone who loves both sunrises and sunsets, I thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. We could even see the beautiful beach from the TV lounge.
The check-in process was stress-free, with the codes provided for easy access. There were plenty of plants around the house, and I just fell in love with both the house and Napier itself. Everything was nearby – within 4 kilometers, you’ll find shops and restaurants. The house owner was very kind and understanding when my kids accidentally tore a few cards – she happily declined my offer to pay for them. We mostly communicated through texts and had plenty of privacy, which was really appreciated.
I would definitely stay here again during my next visit to Napier. It has been suggested that an exhaust fan in the bathroom would be a beneficial addition. During colder weather, it can be challenging to open windows while showering or bathing. While this is not a major concern, as there are still two large windows available, it is a thought worth considering.

Open up some windows and doors and the house gets a lovely breeze through to keep it cool on the hot days. The house is close to a main road so you do get some road noise.

Ideal for our situation with young family plus grandparents. Lots of extras eg Eggs and coffee machine with plenty of coffee pods, sweets for kids and supplies for cooking. Bathrooms were well stocked with soap/shampoo etc. Nice touch with Xmas decorations. All good. No issues. Very difficult to find a fault with our stay.
- Shane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Weekend Getaway - Home away from home! Beautiful home with great facilities. Really comfy beds. Easy check in and great communication. Would highly recommend.
- Katrina (9/5): Hosts were amazing, house was to die for and had nearly everything you need when away from home! - It would have been nice to have mirrors in all rooms, as the room I was in didn't have one, and I noticed on the day we left, that the other rooms did have mirrors. It might help in the long run to have some sort of ventilation in the downstairs bathroom as it got quite warm in there and I had to do my make up in there, due to not having a mirror. Maybe a tv in the downstairs lounge too? Otherwise, when I go to Napier again, Te Awa Holiday Home is going to be my first pick!
