Guest Reviews
- Steve (8/5): Was a handy stop over on my travels, very reasonably priced and stay again - Pleasant and friendly staff and host with good hearty food in the bar and fry friendly locals, quiet , clean and a good shower and good value for money Not much to say here … only advice maybe add some wall art just to warm it a bit
- Rhonda (10/5): Welcoming hosts. Great little place to visit. Probably the best meal we’ve had since we started our holiday two weeks -
- Osborne (9/5): - Great host Nothing
- Cade (8/5): Really good value for money and excellent staff. - Very reasonably priced with lovely views. Food was lovely, staff were super friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and facilities clean. Some noise from the pub downstairs but this cleared up before we fell asleep and ear plugs were provided which was appreciated.
- Osborne (8/5): - Good parking
- DazaB68 (6/5): - Friendly staff The sloping roof walls
- Dr Stella (8/5): - Convenient, a nice pub meal well cooked fresh fish , comfy bed Just to nite the bathroom in next door to the bedroom not en suite.
- Jay (10/5): Great place to stay - Great place to stay in a lovely quiet area. Close to some towns and there's the sea on one side of you (5 minutes drive) and the Lake District in the other. Great pub, lovely food, and the discount on food you get for staying up there is a nice bonus. Roger was great and so were the other staff.
Though (in a positive way) we didn't see much of anyone, unless you went into the bar/restaurant. So the privacy was nice too. Clean rooms including a kitchen, bedroom, living room & bathroom with bath/shower. (Picture attached was taken just up the road from the Location, didn't take many photos inside the property during the stay) Not a big deal for us, but the stairs are a bit steep and there are 2 flights to go up for the top rooms where we stayed, so for elderly or less mobile people that could potentially be difficult. Bed a little creaky but that's whatever, nice comfortable place to stay and sleep. Low ceilings at parts but easy to avoid hitting your head - just watch for the low part on the upper-most staircase if you're taller like me.
- Yvonne (8/5): Very comfortable for an overnight stay - Helpful landlord, beautiful food. Nice and quiet area.
Comfortable bed.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Excellent value, Lovely little pub. - Parking. The fact I could have a lovely meal downstairs. Kettle tea & coffee in the room. Friendly staff. No breakfast. (Even just cereal in the room would have been helpful). Thought I was getting a lovely view, but that was only from the bathroom.....room is actually overlooking quite a busy main road.

- angela (10/5): - The staff were so helpful, and very welcoming, place was lovely and clean, quiet area. It was a last minute booking as my son came home from university and wanted a 3/4 hour uninterrupted bath, told us we should go to our usual place (Blackpool) the cost of trains were a no go, so accidentally came across this lovely place. 100% will be back next time we are turfed out 🤣 I have found a new favorite place. Big thank you to the staff, you are all amazing, can't wait to come back ❤ Nothing
- Sharon (10/5): - Great value for money, comfortable bed, clean, friendly and welcoming, food is to a very high standard.
- Jane (7/5): It was an OK stay for this price range. - Large, warm room. Good food and beer. Friendly staff. Although classed as budget, a few things need improving in the room itself which we have fed back on. The bathroom is separate and doesn’t have heating.
- Jacqueline (9/5): Great stay! - We were greeted at the pub by very friendly staff even though we had arrived earlier than they expected due to a change of plan. The room is just as the photos show and along with the bathroom everywhere was spotlessly clean. We spent the evening in the bar with the locals and had the best time. Lovely friendly people. The bed was very comfortable and although we were on the main road we had a perfect nights sleep (even without the eye mask and ear plugs provided!) Unfortunately we didn’t eat at the restaurant but hopefully we will be moving to the area and will look forward to returning to this pub.
- ivan (8/5): Ease of booking and communication by hosts , - Ease of use, tv, coffee making Everything was ok
- Paul (9/5): A lovely gem of a stay ! - Wearrived and were met with a lovely happy smile ! The staff were so polite and a pleasure to deal with. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was exceptional value for money and was delicious. Best gammon steak i have had for a very long time. We enjoyed the stay. Thank you Everything was great thank you . Only slight issue with the TV reception in the room it did keep dropping out but was a very minor issue.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Staff were brilliant and excellent dinner in the pub below
- JOAN (9/5): -

- Martin (8/5): - Ideal location for work Unfortunately it was a Tuesday so no food or drink available
- Alangreen75 (10/5): -
- Amanda (8/5): Beautiful village hide away stay - Lovely room and bathroom, just what we needed after walking up Haystacks mountain, a well needed rest, excellent value for money too, absolutely beautiful view from the bathroom of the coast and mountains, the sunset was lovely. Only thing was the sound of the road but the host provided ear plugs, thank you for that.
- paula (8/5): - Nice people, fantastic food, well worth the detour!
- Anne (4/5): - Only positive thing is that the bed was clean and comfortable. The carpet on the stairs and landing had not been cleaned for a long time it was filthy. It had also not been hoovered for a long time and bits of dirt stuck to my feet after I walked from the bathroom to the bedroom. Bathroom was clean. Hand-wash was empty and someone had left a half used jar of face cream on the sink. The staff did fill it up when I asked. No bath gel in the shower. Maybe because there was nowhere to put in. Very small and had to hold my own shampoo whilst washing my hair. Toilet did not flush properly. Ran out of toilet roll as there was only a little bit left on the roll. The bedroom window did not close fully. Room just off the A596 so it was very noisy. They did provide eye masks and ear plugs. Only half of the walls in the bedroom had been plastered, Two large areas had exposed brick showing. I won't be returning.

- Tracy (9/5): Superb -
- Hann (10/5): What a pleasant stay :) - We arrived a bit later than expected and at night so we were bit nervous to check in but the owner messaged us in case there were problems during our journey. And upon seing the accomodation... we were super shocked. Our stay was only for one room, but the owner was SUUPER NICE and upgraded us to a whole flat! We could not thank them enough for that. It was clean, spacious and complete with everything you would ever need. The owners also always made sure we are comfortable with our stay and that really made they stay enjoyable :) Location-wise, it was a bit far from main attractions at Lake District but what I liked that it was calm around the area. Walk around for 30 minutes or so and you will arrive by the coast. Even the walk was lovely. There is a bus stop right outside the place and the bus runs every 30 minutes. I would say they are pretty punctual, with slight delays for few minutes. I would come again just to stay at the place and walk around the area :D Nothing much. It was lovely
- Giles (8/5): All good, friendly place to stay. - All good. Nice spacious room above a decent pub. Staff very friendly, off road parking. A proper West Cumbrian place to stay which is a very good thing.
- Cathleen (6/5): Not impressed got no sleep - It was clean Bathroom was separate to bedroom
Bedroom door didn’t lock
- Richard (10/5): A short 1 night stopover around BG. - Everything! The pub downstairs is awesome. Great staff! Nil.
- Edward (10/5): Absolutely perfect for a 1 night stay just wish our plans would have allowed us to stay longer - The room the staff were very accommodating as you would expect in a lovely quaint pub We had absolutely no complaints anything was dealt with professionally
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrea (8/5): Cosy and welcoming place to stay -
- Trude (10/5): Whether you’re passing through or planning a quiet countryside getaway, this is a charming and affordable place to stay. - I recently stayed at The Stag Inn Crosby, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The room was spotless, spacious, and full of character — with thoughtful touches that made me feel right at home. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Its a cosy pub with great food and a relaxed atmosphere — and guests even get 10% off meals!
- David (2/5): Very poor -
- Dammie (10/5): It was an amazing experience 😍😍 - Excellent Nil
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hannah (9/5): Superb -
- Gary (8/5): Very good -
- Megan.ivy (9/5): Would love to stay again - Comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in and Roger was a wonderful host, and the view was stunning. It was a little noisy at night however I believe that’s only because it was situated on a main road so couldn’t be helped.
