They were turned away and stated that the room that was booked shouldnt have been. They ended up going someplace else. Then they kept calling me to see when I was going to check in. Very bad experience.

- Undine (7/5): This is a very historic property in a quiet location of the town. - The historical features of the property. The bathroom had a very large jacuzzi/tub. The staff called us before our stay which was nice but then... the front desk was unattended most of the time. We like to see a friendly face greeting us in the morning!

- Amanda (1/5): - It was visually nice. When we arrived we were given the wrong room number and code so we opened the door to a room that was already occupied. There was a group that was up till all after 3 am talking loudly in the lounge in the middle of the rooms. There is no staff in the building to enforce the quiet time posted on the site or to keep control of the property. There was also no number to call if any problems arose. There was a guest who asked the group to be quiet about four times but it did no good.

We loved the bar if it had been open. Kevin was the best and showed us around. He was very accommodating. The place was near to all establishments so that we could walk to them instead of driving. The bar was not open and I had to go through booking.com instead of speaking with the people right at Audubon. I was only able to speak with the audubon staff in the late afternoon. I was looking for a senior or veteran deal while staying overnight.

- John (6/5): Adequate if you need to stopover - Looks good from the outside People were helpful but it seems a hotel that nearly everyone has forgotten in a location that few go to. More like a set of apartments in a building than a hotel. Bar supposed to be open until ten but closed by 8. I guess the trade is not there to support a lively hotel. Irritating door lock system having to keep a set of numbers handy to enter the room and hotel.

A small point, but wall switch in bedroom for the reading light is on opposite side of the bed (from the light). Main desk wasn’t manned for many hours of the day/night.

Very clean thruout. Like most baths in motels, needs safety bars when standing. TV was on a side wall and not easy to view from bed. Needs an adjustable bracket so it can turn more towards bed. A table on both sides of bed would be nice. Small things but add to comfort and safety.

- Don (9/5): Wonderful place - Friendly, helpful staff. Several friendly nearby restaurants. Quaint unspoiled town with a river running through it. America's heartland. Only very minor things. Like so many hotels the cleaning staff doesn't report things to the maintenance folks, so they remain unaware of things that need to be "tuned up". In my bathroom the lights over the sink flickered when turned up fully, one of the exhause fans screeched loudly, the TP holder was drooping, and a dimmer switch knob kept falling off. Probably maintenance should check every room every month for such items and require the cleaning staff to report such items. Still I would stay there again without hesitation.

I wasn't sure how to switch it to the handheld shower head without being int the shower and wet. It took a while for someone to come to the front desk. Interesting that the front door locks at 7pm.

Room stunk of air freshener due to an in room pod (i understand in between renters, but it's a little strong for a room where you cant open the windows). The building downstairs and the bar area are nice, as I think this is where the renovations were probably done. Our room was supposed to be a suite and it was not. They need to update everything upstairs. The carpet, tile in the bathroom and furnishings need to be updated. There was not closet nor hangars in the room

- Cris (5/5): Really interesting building that has period charm but fails to capitalise on its potential. - The building itself is historic and has real character. It is ideally located on main street and had parking outside. The receptionist, Melissa, was a font of knowledge and was very customer orientated. The open lobby area on each floor with coffee machine and great seating was lovely. The room was quirky. There was no storage space provided. The room was devoid of hanging rails / wardrobes / shelves or draws etc. The switch for the single wall mounted bedside light was hidden behind the bed's headboard on the opposite side to its location. The head of the bed was secured to the wall and the positioning precluded the use of the electrical points next to the single bedside table. The small fridge was placed on top of a luggage stand. It appeared that the operators had been round a garage sale and collected a few random pieces of furniture (a rickety desk / table; 2 worn armchairs and a freestanding mirror) and placed them round the edge of a very sizeable room. It's a pity because the decor (excluding the damage to the ceiling) and the sympathetic restoration deserved a much better interior design to complement them. Turns out that the well advertised bar downstairs only operates on the weekend so had to go elsewhere for drinks and dinner.
- Theodore (8/5): Very nice place in a very nice small town. - Location great. The property did not serve breakfast. The building is over 120 years old so naturally there are a few eccentricities. Our rooms floor not exactly level. But the rooms were clean up to date w modern amenities. The Kohler spa tub was a delight.
- Valerie (7/5): Location was perfect stopover - Love building, how well it looks, decor Odd smell from air conditioner, box spring didn't have a cover making it look gross, nails on wall with no pictures.

- Livingtinynet (4/5): Not worth the $$ - The girl who checked is in was fabulous! Nice towels Was charged an additional fee that was not listed on booking, but they refunded it. The first room we got was not made up, bed slept in and trash on table. Next day, check out was 10am, and we got a knock on our door at 930, as we were trying to get ready to go. Very loud music was being played by cleaning staff which was very annoying and not relaxing. (Earbuds) Beds were old and squeaky and not comfortable. The reading lights were operated by one switch so I wasn't able to sleep until roommate was done reading, then the switch was at my bed so I had to turn off. Coffee was terrible..... Worse than Starbucks even....
- Megan (9/5): Superb - Comfortable beds Love the historic charm. Probably a fluke but when I tried to check out Sunday I didn't see anyone at the desk all morning. Had 1 creepy painting i had to take down lol. They do have some cool paintings there though.
- Jason (10/5): It was good. I’d come back. - The layout. Reminds me of gun smoke. Lol door locks took a bit to get use to. Also it sounded like someone was talking in the bathroom from 9pm-11pm. Not sure what where or how.

- Terry (9/5): Nice hotel, nice town. - Staff was kind, hotel was very clean, and had so much character. Gathering space is right outside of rooms. Other guests were loud early in the morning in this area.

- Austin (1/5): Bad - None of the furniture besides the bed in the photos on Priceline or their personal website are correct. In the first 5 minutes of us showing up, we found spiders and bugs by our headrest of the bed, and a couple in the shower. the expectation of what they presented was not at all what was delivered at the end of the day for the price we paid. go to a normal hotel this wont be at all what you thought and we got the Deluxe (classic) queen suite.
