- 69 (10/5): Just perfect. - Love the house!
- Gloria (8/5): Spacious, clean, and in a great location to the centro and Malecon - The location was excellent to the center with great restaurants all within walking distance. The Malecon at night is vibrant. The facilities were clean. Good air conditioning and fans. Really spacious bedroom and bathroom with hot water. Very convenient water cooler. The wifi was spotty. The very last day there was a strong smell from the toilet.
- Claudia (8/5): -
- Velasco (5/5): We won’t stay here again - Good location The room was dirty, excessive noise at night , there were no bathrooms in common areas because this is not a hotel
- Giovanna (10/5): Hermosa experiencia - Hermoso lugar.
- Brian (8/5): 10/10 will stay again. - The hostess was most accommodating. The location is unbeatable. The room was very clean. We will always check this place for availability when in La Paz.
- Lucia (10/5): Awesome ! - Location and staff members highly friendly! Nothing
- Kathryn (8/5): -
- Kathryn (7/5): - Well located for our needs-near bus terminal. Very helpful staff who sorted out some confusion about the entry code notification Traffic noise at night-especially in the early morning hours after the nearby festival ended
- Hernan (10/5): - Tod está espectacular
- Lizeth (9/5): -
- CARLOS (9/5): -
- vera (10/5): -
- Meron (9/5): -
- Francesca (10/5): -
- Bouillard (10/5): -
- MIGUEL ANGEL (8/5): - Todo bien,
- Briana (10/5): It was absolutely perfect and our host was there to guide me every step of the way and was immediately available wheneve - Very cute and well located. It was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. The shower takes a few minutes to heat up, but it wasn’t a big deal, I’m just reaching here.
- Sidney (10/5): Would stay here again! The bed was super comfy and overall vibe was amazing.the kitchenette is a nice touch and the amen - This spot is the perfect place to stay in La Paz. The location is prime with lots of shops and restaurants all around and the staff we ran into was very lovely.
- Myra (10/5): - Nice quaint property. Centrally located. We could walk everywhere. Easy self check in, close to restaurants and the Malecon. You can hear everything, not guests but street noise. Neighboring restaurant plays loud music. Which was fine. Just the loud motorcycles, revving of engines late night was hard to adjust.
- Juan (10/5): - Clean and quiet place with shops and restaurants near by, as well as the Malecon(beach boardwalk).
- Luca (10/5): -
- Nicolás (8/5): - Es céntrico, es útil
- Karla (10/5): - LOVED the location- close to everything
- Citlalli (10/5): - Really good and safe, really good location
- Eduardo (9/5): - Habitacion grande y luminosa.
- James (10/5): - loved it
- Josue (10/5): -
- Courtenay (6/5): Pleasant -
- Brian (10/5): - The hostess was most accommodating. The building is beautiful, the room very comfortable, and its setting two blocks from the Malecon was so convenient. Will stay there again when we return to La Paz.
- Iris (10/5): - Nice place.
- Gerardo (10/5): - It was delightful.
- leonard (10/5): - Excellent location and clean place!
- Sarahí (6/5): - Unfortunately, Casa Velasco didn’t live up to our expectations. The photos online were a bit deceiving — the room we initially received was small, gray, and felt quite dark for a beach destination. There were barely any windows, and the space felt more depressing than relaxing. My husband immediately noticed a moldy smell, which we brought up to the staff.
To their credit, the staff was very attentive and tried to help. They upgraded us to a suite for two nights as a temporary solution, which we appreciated. However, we ultimately chose to cut our stay short and move to another hotel.
There’s no front desk, and not much in terms of amenities or nearby activities. While the surrounding area is nice, the property itself just didn’t offer the beachy vibe or value we were hoping for. That said, the staff did their best within the limitations of the property.
If you’re looking for a true beach getaway with comfort and atmosphere, we’d recommend exploring other nearby hotels that offer better value and a more complete experience.
- Jose (10/5): - This is a beautifully renovated, centrally located house with exceptional service all around. The woman who helped me was extremely attentive, flexible, and kind. The room was spotless. I’d definitely recommend staying here.
- Piedad (10/5): - Muy agradable lugar
- Clara (8/5): Well located rooms - Nice rooms, beautiful building, very well located There was a LOT of noise. Maybe because it was a Friday but I could barely sleep. It seems there's a lot of bars or clubs in the vicinity as it was until the early morning. My brother had a room to the street and he said it was even worse because of the cars and their sound system.
- Aime (6/5): Pleasant - Location was good It was noisy and construction noise starting at 7am.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Todo bien
- Jim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gily (1/5): Better to stay elsewhere - Location was great, lobby is nice Extremely dirty. Mold on ceiling, dirty toilet, dusty. There is no reception - did not see a staff member the entire stay
- Nicolas (8/5): A decent option in La Paz but room for improvement - We stayed for a night at Velasco. While the building and the hall is beautiful, and our stay was fine altogether, there were some areas of improvement. For instance, the walls had patches of paint wearing off. The shower did not get hot. Also, the room was internal and was not isolated from the patio where some loud guests were constantly making phone calls.
- Paulo (9/5): Superb -
- Jeremias (6/5): Pleasant -
- Grace (6/5): Fine for what we needed at the time - The location and entrance of the hotel is fabulous. Friendly staff let us check in early too (be warned no reception or central check in desk help / everything is remote). The actual room and finish is ok - and for what we paid last minute, good value. But the damp / peeling paint in the room from the shower needs to be sorted. Personally I hate a plastic shower curtain too. Also the windows are single glazed so it was very noisy with cars blaring music passing by. If you know all this - it is good value for the location!
- David (10/5): - Location excellent--2 blocks down to Malecon. Lots of great dinner, breakfast and bar options within 10 minutes. Dinner at Casamarte gives wonderful of sunsets, people watching. Parking--tricky, but have to know the colour system for curbside paint, no parking in red, green, yellow or blue. White/no colour is OK. Got a spot by the hotel front door. Interior is spacious and like an art gallery under renovation. Room 5 also spacious, but needs blinds to keep lobby lights out of the room.
- Catherine (10/5): - Fab. AnaLuisa was so nice
- Rhonda (10/5): Nice room, great location - We booked our room on a whim, when we decided to stay the night in La Paz. After booking, clear and easy instructions came in ‘What’s App’ how to enter the building and how to get our key to the room. Our room was clean and comfortable. The shower was nice with good water pressure and hot water. The only down side was it faced the street. It was quite noisy out there till the wee hours of the AM. Not their fault. It was Spring Break for the kids. Great location with plenty of restaurants, shopping and bars near by.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - The Hotel Manager, Ana Luisa was so helpful! Thanks for an awesome stay Ana Luisa!!
- Alyson (8/5): - We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was easy to access with a code to the entrance gate and another code to the room. Our room was simple and clean. The bathroom was functional, but we would prefer it to be a bit cleaner. The pipes needed a bleach or something because it was smelly at times.
- Franck (10/5): Amazing unreal, what a place - How close it was to the Malecon.
We booked it last minute on a Sunday as our Air BnB property wasn’t up to scratch and they replied in a timely fashion so we were able to go straight into our reservation Nothing
- Josue (10/5): - Nice
- Scott (10/5): - Good location , clean, with easy access.
- Gerrad (8/5): Very good -
- August (4/5): Don’t Book R8 - The property is centrally located. While not onsite, the property manager Ana Luisa was very communicative during business hours. First, I booked a single room and was assigned room R2. The room was a bit dated and had a hole in the wall. It did have the essentially though. The mattress was incredibly hard. I could not sleep. It was so hard that I asked to move to a different room. I moved to a Jr. suite for an additional $67USD per night. I was assigned R8. Although it had a weird mildew smell, it was a beautiful large suite with plenty of space and updated furnishings. Including a water machine, fridge, cook top and sink. It also had a closet. The bad is that it right next to a bar/restaurant that was so loud it felt like the live band was performing in my room. It went on until 2AM. I did not sleep. I was exhausted the next day. I asked to be moved. Ana Luisa tried to find me another suite, but it was booked. R8 should have come with a warning. I checked out early and booked another hotel (Hotel Catedral) with two nights left. I was not offered a refund for any part of my stay.
- Florentino (2/5): - The only good thing about this place is its location near the Malecón and restaurants.
Beyond that, it was a terrible experience.
The towels were filthy, despite repeated requests for changes of towels and I woke up with insect bites from the bed at night.
Bedding is nothing better than very average at best with yellow and brown stains on the mattress covers.
Noise insulation is nonexistent—I had to wear earplugs every single night just to get some sleep, the property is located on a busy intersection with cars and motorcycles going by right next to your window, honking, playing loud music, reviving up…. This is not a proper hotel but a poorly converted property with zero on-site staff, meaning there’s no one to address these serious issues. I would absolutely not recommend staying here if you appreciate a hygienic environment and Intend to wake up feeling rested or refreshed.
- Tanya (5/5): We were only there one night so quite happy to move to a bigger bed - Location great but on a reasonably busy road. Easy parking. Lovely cafe on the same road good for breakfast and dinner.
Our sons room with 2 beds was miles nicer- so opt for that one if you stay.
No one at the hotel so they send you a code to get in. Double bed was very small -much too small for 2 large people!
No water in the room to drink so we had to go and buy some
Very small shower and horrid step into the loo.
Our sons room with 2 beds was much nicer
