Guest Reviews
- Nicole (8/5): - Easy to get to from interstate.
Very clean

- Patricia (1/5): - It was small bugs crawling in the bed I was sleeping in. Something bit me on my back.. The next day I had big bite marks on my lower back. I moved the bed it was dirty and small lady bugs behind the bed and some small black bugs. They moved me to another room it was a water leak on the side of the bed. It was reported took lots of pictures. The room was not cleaned also the top covers on the bed in both rooms had a bad odor..
- Dylan (10/5): Would 100% come back and look forward to it - One of the best hotels I stayed at in recent memory. Very clean and very welcoming The breakfast could have been a little better but still great
- Yuliia (10/5): -
- David (9/5): All went well. - Breakfast was ok. Pancake maker wasn't working.
- Hennemann (10/5): Nice, quiet and restful - Clean, newer, quiet, and seemingly well run. Nothing stood out negative
- Lorenzo (8/5): -
- TOM (10/5): I’ll stay there again - I leave at 5am before breakfast. Location was easy access off highway All good

- Melanie (10/5): Comfortable, - Your front desk person "Logan" was very friendly and remembered my sister and brother-in-law from a previous stay, several months past. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. He set the tone. Pillows were plenty just not to my liking. Everyone has different tastes. But was not a deal breaker.:)
- Meridith (10/5): -
- Glenn (9/5): Nice stay other than I wanted to soak in a tub - I reserved a room with a soaking tub. I didn't get one
- Brophy (9/5): comfortable and clean - Room was very clean, modern, comfortable, and practical breakfast was very minimal, even for a continental breakfast.
- Josh (10/5): My group and I had a wonderful experience at this stay and will be coming back! - Location and selection of rooms, cleanliness, and overall great experience N/A
- Barbara (3/5): Stay was fine, customer service and support was unacceptable. - Facility was brand new, everything was clean and nice, breakfast was included and was freshly prepared. I booked and prepaid for two rooms for one night for two sets of visitors. Despite having prepaid for this reservation my guests were also charged upon check out. One of my guests was charged for a single room, while the other guest was charged for both rooms. Collectively this means we paid for 5 rooms. Sounds like something that should be easy to fix, but it's nearly impossible to get anyone on the phone at this location. The phone menu just goes in circles with no one ever answering for me. One of my party members was able to get through and was told rudely that they would have to call back because they were unable to do anything about it. I get that this property is brand new and there are growing pains, but goodness that's a lot of errors and absolutely no accountability.

- Amy (5/5): I enjoyed my stay, but there are some expectations people have that hotels should have as standards. - Overall, the minimalist and modern design was awesome!
The artwork and style of the desk and sidetable were so different and unique, you felt like you were staying in someone's home. The scents of the soaps, shampoo, and conditioner were THE BEST I have had in a hotel EVER!!! I wanted to take all of them home with me!!!
The games in the lobby hooked me instantly and the pancake machine needs ro be in EVERY ONE OF YOUR HOTELS!!!! First off, when I arrived, I waited 10 minutes for the desk attendant to come down to the desk. Truly, I could have taken so much food from the "market" and just walked out without anyone knowing if I was that kind of person! Overall, the minimalist and modern design was awesome but there were key "comforts" you expect in every hotel room that were missing. Examples are biodegradable cups in the room for water, side tables that are big enough to use as well as cool to look at,(more younger people have CPAP machines than you think) electrical plugs near the bed and in the room in general that are easy to find.

- Sharon (9/5): - It was nice and everyone treated us well.
- Steve (10/5): Overall an excellent stay. - Good value
Super friendly staff at front desk Some sticky goo on alarm clock and table
- Arthur (4/5): Don't waste your money, it's not worth it. Stay at the Days Inn. - The staff was wonderful. Very friendly, polite and helpful. The bed was comfortable and we were actually able to turn off the air conditioning and not freeze while we were there which was a nice change of pace from most places we've been to recently The bathroom was NOT handicapped accessible, the room was very small and cramped and the breakfast was poor. And no room service of any kind which I thought odd because it's a Hilton. It was my first stay in a Hilton because I never wanted to put my money in the pockets of that horrid family, but I didn't have much choice, the only 2 other hotels in town were booked. I was incredibly disappointed with the place considering how ridiculously expensive it was for a place like Dixon, IL. I definitely won't stay at a Hilton again.
- Robert (8/5): Good - The room was good, the hotel was clean and new. The staff was good and attentive. Our air conditioner made a noise that kept me up all night. Had to switch rooms the next day. The food was good as well.
- Lorie (8/5): - fast eggs
- Miranda (10/5): - Wonderful stay. New build with lots of space and extra amenities.
- Dean (4/5): - Staff was great although… didn’t get room we reserved-room we ended up with, bare room so much echoing made conversation hard to understand-didn’t have toilet paper holder-impossible to find light switches-cut my leg getting out of bed (exposed sharp metal bed frame)-breakfast was minimal and cold)-microwave won’t work, even staff had problems!!! I wanted to checkout and goto another hotel right from the beginning kinda ruined my plans for a relaxing extended weekend.
The price was ridiculously high for what we received in value, especially since I thought from the description that the facility had a bar and nighttime snacks (turned out to not be a bar but a front case with chips and candy bars soda and beer) It’s possible our experience would’ve been better if we had the room we reserved, however doubtful.
Not sure if Tru by Hilton is an experimental concept However they should stick to what they know.
Again the staff was very courteous and tried their best.
- Nathan (10/5): - Great!
- KERRY (10/5): - The room was clean and nice. Property appears to be fairly new, so area around doesn’t have much landscaping…but that’s not why I was there. Bed was super comfortable. But the curtains!! They had a BLACKOUT SHADE that actually worked!! I can honestly say, this is the first time I have ever slept good in a hotel room! The only slight problem I had, was the faucet in the bathroom. The handle needed a simple repair (a set screw needed tightened). I notified the hotel staff when leaving the next morning. He took a note and said he would have it fixed. All of the staff was very friendly and courteous. It was a wonderful overnight stay at Tru by Hilton!
- Rem (10/5): - Wonderful stay!
- Richard (10/5): - Brand new Hitel very nice. Check in was super fast. Staff is awesome
- Detra (6/5): - No one at check-in and wasn’t apologetic about my waiting for check-in. Third floor room, 302, was noisy, lots of popping by the front door. Had no idea what was causing the sounds.
- Dennis (8/5): - No charging station for a phone.
- Butts (9/5): -
- Jason (4/5): Paid for the King forced to take a Queen… - We had paid for the King room 7 days in advance. We checked in at 9:30pm, entering the room we realized the room had 2 Queens, and was handicapped accessible. We returned to the front desk only to be told that they thought it was a King, and they had given our room to another person, the room I have already paid for… We then was given a new room, we didn’t want to take the handicapped room if someone else would need it. As we try to enter the new room the key fob did not work, my wife went to the front desk, again. The worker came up with a new key that worked. We paid over $900 for 4 nights and was given the wrong room, never was offered any type of compensation or any sort of apology. The rooms are $200+ a night, no microwave and no pool, After checking in the room I went back to Hotels.com and found that they were still selling the King rooms and available to check in now. Very disappointed in the hotel… The room was very nice, clean hallways and nice workout center. For the price not worth it.
- B. Spencer (9/5): - The location is great. The staff are helpful. It's handy to have a breakfast option. The facilities are new and nice!
The blackout shades in the room were top notch! Our room was only "cleaned" once where the bed was made. Otherwise the trash was never emptied despite it being very full and we had to ask for more towels often.
Breakfast is 6-9 which is pretty tough to make when you have little kids and time zone differences.
- Kimberly (6/5): Hotel nice and clean; my room wasn’t - When I arrived to the room, there was trash in the trash can in the bathroom, urine and toilet paper drying in the toilet, and a used towel hanging on the wall.
The hotel itself was nice and very new looking, bright and seemed clean. The breakfast was ok, items changed different days.
- Russell (10/5): - Great Stay
- Mark (10/5): - Perfect for my needs. Clean and quiet with very friendly staff.
- Peggy (10/5): TRU by Hilton, Dixon IL - It was so clean and all of the staff were very friendly and personable. There was really nothing that I didn't like.
- Ian (7/5): Good - Staff friendly and very helpfull. Venue was new and therefore spotless. Rooms small yet comfortable. No safe in room and closet facilities designed for short stay. Very limited bar and no restaurant. Too far out of Dixon for those without wheels!
- Annika (8/5): Good for the price. - The property was new and inviting. The fitness facility was excellent. Good snacks and the breakfast was very good. The staff were very friendly. Some of the design was a little out there and modern for my taste and that means the functionality was ok but not stellar. Also the more time spent there I could tell some of the finishes were rushed. Also please have black tea at breakfast! Green doesn’t cut it and coffee isn’t my favorite.
- James (4/5): - While the room itself was fine, with the exception of a dirty toilet in my room upon arrival, there were several hotel management issues. I was double charged for my stay. The breakfast, which was supposed to start at 6am, was not ready when I arrived in the dining room at 6:15am. The elevator broke down the evening while I was there, and no signage was put up near the elevators to advise guests that it wasn't working. Even the next morning, no signage and it still wasn't working
- Morag (10/5): - I will definitely look out for more Tru hotels in the future. It was one of the best, affordable places I’ve ever stayed!
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional - Nice new and modern! Very cute!
- Verified traveler (4/5): So disappointed - Not a great experience. This was my second time here and it was nothing like the first time. Checked in on a Friday at midnight…had to wait in the lobby for 40 minutes until someone came to the desk to help me. She was nowhere to be found. I knocked on employees only doors but no one was there. My room wasn’t cleaned until my 4th day! They said they forgot to put me on the list. They said to put my take out food out in the hall and they would at least come grab it…12 hours later it was still there! The GM is nice but doesn’t seem vested or concerned. We stayed 5 nights and received 25% off our last night. It’s a bummer. I come to Dixon frequently and there aren’t other suitable options…however I won’t be back to Tru
- Shannon (8/5): - Very clean and well maintained. This brand seems to want to provide a nice experience with lesser quality goods. (Towels, paper products) Unfortunately, there is no sound barrier within the building-you can hear every sound coming from the hallway and nearby rooms. They also seemed to be having a rough morning for breakfast-pancake machine wasn't working, toaster was malfunctioning, the yogurt toppings were either empty or from the previous day (rock hard brown sugar) Hopefully a one-off. I also woke with a very sore back which is unusual-can't say for certain it was their mattress. I'd give this hotel another stay to confirm/deny the issues we experienced, but be more prepared for the sound issues.
- vicky (6/5): - Well got In the shower and there was no soap. And didn’t bring any. No microwave. No coffee pot.
- David (8/5): Overall satisfied - Convenient location. Outlets to charge phone on just one side of bed
- James (10/5): - The property is very clean and well designed. Modern theme and convenient.
- Morgan (10/5): - I have nothing to add at this time, this survey should be sent after check out not at check in.
- Dawn (10/5): - Very clean. Front desk staff was 5 star
- Lynch (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and comfortable. Helpful staff. Pleasant atmosphere. A little pricey for the area.
- Peter (10/5): - It was new, modern and clean and staff was great!
- Toney (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barry (10/5): Nice property, good value. - Very neat and clean Nothing
- Melanie (10/5): Extremely clean - It was very clean, comfortable, great selection of food at breakfast. The room was chilly even with the heat at 74
- Brenda (7/5): Great except for the temperature. - Breakfast was good, location was great. The rooms seem to be very hard to regulate the temperature. One day I came back from work, and it was 59 degrees in the room, took it 4 hours to warm up. I didn't touch the temperature when I left in the a.m. It seems the room is really hot or too cold. I stayed there 2 weeks in a row for business.
- Alfredo (8/5): Very good -
- Anna (10/5): - It was very clean and breakfast was good. The general manager was excellent as there was some miscommunication. He resolved the issue. I appreciated his demeanor , which was kind and I could see his goal was to give great customer service…. Much appreciated that!!
- William (8/5): - Great location Very clean
- Colin (7/5): Expensive for a shoebox sized room - Breakfast was a joke!! A comfortable seat or recliner would have been nive
- Tan (9/5): Nice and cozy - Clean and cozy with great buffet breakfast. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. No kettle to boil hot water in the room and no safe in the room to keep valuables.
- Casey (9/5): Superb -
