Guest Reviews
- Karen (8/5): - Beautiful quirky & stylish cottage . The village felt a little strange during our stay .
- Stella (7/5): Would’ve been ideal if we had had some hot water! - Good location, quiet village & free parking, warm, quality furnishings with cosy blankets & good TV inc Netflix. One of the single beds was a high platform with no guard rail, even though it was only suitable for a child. Unfortunately the biggest disappointment was that we had no hot water! Consequently we were unable to have showers after our journey & after being on the beach all day. Although we contacted the owner, they were unable to help. This spoilt what would have been a perfect stay.
- Jenny (7/5): - Location, lounge area Stairs, heating, having orders to strip bed and take away rubbish. Don't expect that at that price
- Hannah (10/5): Thoroughly recommend - A very stylish and cosy cottage in a good location to explore the area & close to 2 village pubs. Nothing
- Helen (8/5): Beautiful Morth Norfolk stay - Beautiful cottage with all basic needs covered. Decor uplifting and location lovely. Second bedroom more for children than adults as low ceiling and bed.
- Jenny (8/5): - Location, facilities Steep stairs
Despite being very few
- Sue (8/5): Very nice for a short stay. - Warm. Nicely decorated. Comfy furnishings and bed and nice crockery. Toilet wasn’t very well fitted.
No garden so couldn’t let the dog out on his own.
- Martin (9/5): Good location great village property lovely but dog friendly needs to be dog friendly - Pretty much everything We had a small disagreement about dogs and cleaning which we didn’t understand ? But apart from that nothing it was very nice
- Sarah (8/5): Perfect place for us to stay to visit the Thursford Christmas Extravaganza. - Nice and warm, comfortable and clean. The parking situation was difficult for us.
- Tracy (10/5): - Lovely stay as usual
- Will (9/5): -
- Teresa (10/5): A wonderful time in super accommodation - Cosy, quirky, perfect location
- Sue (10/5): A lovely old house which is so welcoming and cosy. Great location. - Location and interior
- Emma (8/5): A relaxing few days in cozy cottage - Great location. Beautiful conversion, very nicely decorated and with thoughtful touches like reading light, blanket by the sofa. Comfortable beds with high quality bed linen. Parking was confusing. I wasn’t sure where we were allowed to park opposite the cottage and all spaces gone on the second night so I had to park in a pitch dark carpark and walk back on my own. A diagram of permitted parking would be helpful.
Access to my personal prime and/Netflix account via QR code would have been nice.
- Howard (10/5): -
- Phil (10/5): Perfect place to stay - Great place to stay whilst visiting Walsingham. Good amenities throughout. Perfect layout especially if you're traveling with your dog. Stayed here before and going forward will hopefully stay again. Can't recommend it enough. .
- Victoria (10/5): Great stay for a wedding. Will be back to enjoy properly ! X - Lovely location, beautifully designed house, comfortable and clean All good
- James (9/5): Very nice stay -
- Christopher (9/5): Good location for a weekend away in an attractive village. - Kitchen, living space roomy and light. Nothing
- Jenny M (8/5): - Cottage was easy to find, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Close to wells and other Norfolk coast locations. Ringing from the bell tower seems to start quite early!
We had a leak from the roof during our stay, but the rain was exceptionally heavy that day.
- Giovanna (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Very comfortable and had everything we needed and it was great that it was dog friendly too.
- Peter (7/5): Good -
- Ros (9/5): Comfortable - I keep getting reminders to give feedback on my recent stay in this cottage and, to be honest, the defensive responses to the (always very mild) niggles of previous visitors have rather put me off. It appears that the customer is almost always not right! Don't get me wrong, we had a lovely stay in this pretty little cottage. It was superbly situated and all was beautifully clean. It was comfortable and well equipped and for such a tiny cottage, the main living area is really very spacious.
It doesn't feel at all cramped. As has been mentioned before, the loo is quite wobbly and needs refixing to the floor but it is very efficient and you can't really go wrong if the loo is efficient! I was a bit taken aback by the description of the car parking though. The details say that free public parking is available at a location nearby and that reservation is not needed. I think what is actually meant is that there's on-road parking available but that reservation is not possible. The three spaces opposite the cottage were occupied by the same three vehicles (not ours) for the entire duration of our stay. Parking is generally difficult in Walsingham at the best of times and I must say that my interpretation of the statement was that there would be somewhere available close by. Our friends in a cottage just along in Egmere Road had exactly the same problem and had to resort to the £7 charge for the paid car park. I'm not sure I would have wanted to use the upstairs room but luckily we didn't need to. It would be fine for a small family though.
- Matthew (8/5): Very good -
- Sally (10/5): Delightful. - The beds were the most comfortable I’ve slept in!!!
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Niamh (6/5): Great location, nice property. - Great decor, great location. Ideal. Check out time was quite early compared to other properties we have stayed at in Norfolk, as well as this we had to strip the bedsheets (per the policy stated in guestbook) which was an inconvenience especially as we only stayed one night. Check in was quite late in the evening and early in the morning, making it not that worth it if you’re only staying for a night. I would stay for longer tho.
- Michelle (8/5): Great break in a lovely village - The cottage was clean and cozy and in a lovely village with great beaches nearby and dog friendly pubs More towels would have been nice as well only had one small bath towel each and a hand towel between us for the 3 nights we were there , also a radio would have been nice
- Nathalie (10/5): Cosy little cottage - Loved the feel of the cottage. Warm, welcoming and so cosy. Beautiful and comfortable bedding. Great shower. Well equipped kitchen. Fantastic farm shop directly opposite. Nothing
- Mandy (9/5): Superb - Very cozy and comfortable. Everything you need provided. Beautiful decor clean bed very comfortable. Lovely location
- Lorraine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sandra (9/5): Great bolthold in a fascinating village for three people - Quiet location and very clean. The beds are very comfortable and the accommodation is cosy. The property has two bedrooms- the double bedroom was lovely and well appointed. The twin bedroom had a very comfortable single bed but no wardrobe. The second single bed was raised up in an alcove making it hard to get in to and it had very little headroom making it claustrophobic.
- Phil (10/5): Exceptional - Great place to stay in Walsingham and most importantly for me, dog friendly. Facilities were spot on. All eventualities catered for. Close to the shrine, shop and pubs. Great place, great location. .
- Peter (10/5): Would recommend for couples and family excellency - Clean tidy everything you need excellent Nothing
- Jake (9/5): Superb - It's a brilliantly qwerky space, that is well located in the town and decorated brilliantly. It wasn't an issue for us, as we found a spot opposite the house but there isn't much available parking.
- Amanda (9/5): Superb -
- Cassie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Muriel (10/5): Lovely cottage - Cute and comfortable. Location perfect Extra key would be good
- Lucy (8/5): Relaxing stay in the old candle shop - Comfy beds, spacious dining and living room. Location ideal opposite farm shop and close to holy mile walk.
Excellently renovated No hand towels provided, and had to remind to provide towel for third person. Expected multiple bin bags. We only realised on check out there were no more bin bags under the sink and we had exceeded what we could fit in the bin. If you get given a 5-digit key code it's outdated, we had to ring to find out the code and get let in
- Glen (7/5): Good -
- Jackie (4/5): beautiful but dissapointing, limited parking and not suitable for the elderly. - Lovely decoration, very organised with a lot of additional items supplied Real Difficulty with Parking, site said Free Parking, what it fails to mention is limited on street parking when space available and most with time restrictions. This is mention in the welcome book, but too late by then as you have booked it. Stairs upto Bathroom uneven and difficult/dangerous for senior age group with only a handrail halfway up on one side. No Lock on Bathroom door so no privacy. The booking site said suitable for 4 people, should have said, 2 Adults 2 children as the upstairs bedroom not suitable for adults! We were 3 adults, I slept upstairs, the bed is too low and low ceiling, struggled to get out of the bed, the other bed too high for a child, and very high risk of banging your head as very little room between pillow and ceiling, an adult would find it very closthrophobic. No door so no privacy, could do with at the very least a curtain door on there.
- Paul (10/5): Our second stay and wasn’t disappointed. Great location with a fab local pub within walking distance. We were accompanie - Everything! Can’t fault it at all. Clean, well furnished and equipped. A proper little home from home 😊 Nothing
- Joe (9/5): Loved our weekend stay here! - Beautifully designed and styled. With lots of character. Set within a pretty village. Bathroom was on the small side.
- Michelle (9/5): Had a lovely time, really enjoyed our stay. - Quirky, cute & very clean. Excellent location & great communication from the owners. Nothing to dislike.
- Sarah (8/5): Convenient and comfy. - There was everything we needed for our short stay.
The bed was really very comfy and the bedding I particularly appreciated. There was no hand towels provided for use either in the bathroom or the kitchen area.
The towels that were provided were a little small for slightly larger people.
- Grace (8/5): Very good - Great for visiting the coast and the Norfolk hopper bus Wasn't a welcome pack alittle short on toilet roll
- Kaylie (9/5): Great property & location. - Great property and location with really helpful owners. N|A
- Tina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (9/5): Superb -
- Nikki (9/5): Great place for a short stay. - Lovely hosts who met us at the property. Great location, very conveniently situated to visit the area. The farm shop opposite was very good. -
- Sue (7/5): Enjoyed the living areas a lot and main bedroom. - The main bedroom, kitchen and sitting room were all fabulous The upstairs bedroom has no light, sockets and was so stuffy that my friend had to spend the second night on the sofa downstairs. Also the bathroom mirror is too high to look in for people of 5ft 6/7 inches to look in.
- Mary (10/5): It was a great experience to stay there… we both thoroughly enjoyed it. - As soon as we walked in it felt warm and welcoming. Very clean. Excellent bedding and everything that was needed for a brilliant stay. Only two very slightly negative comments…. the curtain over the street door…. Doesn’t quite do the job.
The toilet seat was a bit flimsy and could do with being soft close.
- William (10/5): Exceptional - Great property, very homely and in a fantastic location.
- Jatin (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely everything thr cottage is amazing the location was perfect withing a handful of miles away from Wells next to the sea ! Couldn't fault it was spot on perfect for our little trip to Norfolk
- Michelle (10/5): Really lovely find, not far from local attractions and host communication speedy. All you could hope for. - Beautifully decorated
Extremely clean and had everything you could need Would benefit from summer lighter duvets
A ring hook outside might be an idea for when dogs come to stay
- Christine (7/5): Generally it was enjoyable and convenient to other villages - It was convenient for the village The shower had no shower mat at it was very slippery so would appreciate a mat.
The stairs were a bit uneven,
- Melloney (10/5): Great location and property - Lovely and relaxing
- Price (9/5): Superb -
- Kurt (10/5): Exceptional -
- Madhu (9/5): A tasteful, character filled, delightful guest house.. x - The property is very tastefully styled, well equipped, full of character and really comfortable. We had everything we needed and would highly recommend.
Perfect for a couple or small family.
The farm shop opposite is AMAZING!
We also met Sharon and Jamie, the owners, and they were lovely, kind and really flexible with us. There were two of us and a dog. It would not be suitable for lots of people. It is a in a lovely, charming village with one pub and cafe (plus the great farm shop/deli!). If you want more nightlife, you need to drive. It suited us and we had a lovely stay.
- Cullen (9/5): We had an amazing time and will definitely be returning next year. I highly recommend it! - The place is very cosy and everything is easy to find. We felt so at home from the moment we arrived. It's set in a lovely little village which is only a 10 minute drive from Wells. We'll definitely be visiting again next year.
