- Shadae (1/5): - Never stayed at margaritaville due to them changing my location of stay within 24 hours prior to check in. I received a phone call after my money was taken from my account stating that I will be staying at the same hotel just a different side (club Wyndham). I was never given a valid reason. I received a call through a third party and everything seemed so much like a scam although it turned out to be legit. I was not pleased with the accommodation without my permission. I went based off pictures and amenities just to be put in whatever they wanted to put me in. We are apart of the margaritaville/club Wyndham vip reward membership and to be treated like such, we were not pleased.

Obiekt typu mordownia. Uroczy rejon i dzika okolica zagospodarowane na amerykańskie potrzeby w pełnej komercjalizacji. Personel opryskliwy, nieprofesjonalny, śniadania obrzydliwe. Jednym słowem oszustwo!!! Stare, zepsute systemy klimatyzacji i elektryczności, odmalowane jedynie ściany. Jednym słowem odradzam i ostrzegam. Wybrać na wyspie inny obiekt. Wszystko do zmiany!!!! Przede wszystkim staff i śniadania. Po pandemii wszystko plastikowe. W Europie od lat odchodzi się o plastiku!!!! Ameryko obudź się po pandemii.
- Yessica (4/5): - We like the facility, however there were under construction or working something on the upper level and we didn't get much sleep int the mornings two days in a row. Then when we got to move to a different room and there were ants once we walked in. we shouldn't leave anything out.
- Christopher (10/5): - Very nice. Alittle construction going on that will be done next month but everything wad nice. Definitely coming back to visit after all the work is done.
- Efrain (6/5): - The internet and electricity was constantly going in and out. The elevators didn’t work half the time of the stay. Drinks and food are EXTREMELY overpriced for average beverages & finger foods. A lot of hidden fees at check in & check out. You get charged to literally use the bathroom (exaggeration but so true lol). Guess they have to fund the renovations somehow.
- Marlene (6/5): - Clean room, staff was nice and attentive, quick response time from staff when you need something. Way too expensive dinning/food spots on the property. Food nothing to rave about. Iguanas great food but very loud but worth it. Palio food super expensive, taste was disappointing & mediocre. Property far from many other pueblos transportation very pricey if you want to visit other places in the island. Stay expensive enough, then add resort fees..
- Diana (10/5): - El room muy limpio, el baño tambiénMe encantó la variedad de opciones que teníamos en el desayuno muy conveniente , fue una muy buena experiencia para nuestra familia.
- Cheyanne (10/5): - I had an amazing time staying at the resort. I was just sad that the casino was not open and all the pools were not as well due to the renovation.
- Christine (8/5): - Coqui frog serenade at night is one of a kind. Staff was very friendly. Paying to park kinda sucks.
- Latifah Ziyadah-renee (8/5): - Friendly staff. Hotel is under reno so the spa and the casino were closed. Not walkable to venues off of the property and some restaurants were closed. Food was good at Roots on the Go, 5 o'clock somewhere and the Seabreeze.
- Nelly (10/5): - Great short stay!
- Abner (10/5): - This hotel’s location provides an excellent escape from everything. It’s quiet but at the same time adventurous.
- Humberto (10/5): - Great property! Very clean and staff was super friendly and helpful.
- Sudela (10/5): - the nature was unique 👌
- Julia (10/5): - Beautiful
- Karina (4/5): - No service no pool available
- Ulysses (10/5): - Room was clean and nice, loved the pools and beach. Staff was great, will go back again.
- cynthia (10/5): - I had a wonderful stay
- Justin (10/5): - Great stay
- Tanya Jessica (10/5): - Overall exceptional place
- Brian (6/5): - The property was under construction and very noisy. Some of the staff were rude. The bars all closed by 11pm on Saturday night. No nightly entertainment. Food was very expensive and mediocre.
- Shawn (10/5): - Room was beautiful
- Daniel (10/5): - Beautiful resort with nice clean beaches. The rooms were awesome and recently renovated. The staff at the resort was wonderful and were helpful with every request. If I made the trip back to PR this will be my sat of choice. My only complaints were no guest laundry for those staying that weren’t vacation club members, and the lack of variety from the restaurants. A lot of menus were the same regardless of where you went, so we went out of the resort to get meals at local spots which were awesome. The area outside of the resort is very safe and I encourage anyone who stays here to venture out to the nearby parks and towns.
- Idy (2/5): - So many things closed
- maha (6/5): - The hidden resort fees that pop
- Yuicses (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at Wyndham Rainforest! The staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. One of the highlights for our family was the children’s pool with waterfalls – it was perfect for toddlers, safe, fun, and kept the little ones entertained for hours.
The on-site beach is absolutely stunning, with gorgeous views that make it feel like a true tropical escape. Whether relaxing by the water or simply enjoying the scenery, it was the perfect spot to unwind.
Overall, this resort exceeded our expectations – a beautiful property with excellent service and family-friendly amenities. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway!
- Nancy (10/5): - Everything was good. They treat me with respect they will come. All the questions on us was answer otherwise moment.
- Roxana (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Rainforest Beach and Golf Resort. The property is beautiful and unique, surrounded by the rainforest and with direct access to the beach. The pools, golf course, and amenities made it a great place to relax and enjoy. Staff was welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.
The only small downside was that some of the food and drinks were a bit pricey, but overall, the experience was excellent. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a mix of relaxation and nature in Puerto Rico.
- Erika (10/5): - Great location and easy to get transportation around the island. We enjoyed the beach and pool on the property, and the view of the mountains.
- Sean (10/5): - I great beach resort. The food was excellent.
- Olga (10/5): - Beautiful
- maya mae (4/5): - Everything was closed everything was a charged
I just felt the white visitors got treated better than me
- Robert (8/5): - Property is confusing to get around. Too dark at night and the pool closed too early and all three hot tubs did not work.
- Kimberly (8/5): - Resort was nice but out “ocean view” room was more of a courtyard view and we were led to believe there was a casino so we were very disappointed
- Malisa (10/5): - They had some construction going on, but we still had a great time! Very clean, well kept property and rooms. Staff was great! We will definitely be returning!
- Kimberley Josepha (10/5): - Excellent pools, staff was incredible!
- Luis (10/5): A must visit. - Friendly, attentive staff, clean spacious rooms with attention to detail, great food and excellent property.
- Ashley (6/5): - There was still construction going on, the construction interfered with the elevators. Along with paying for the stay there, we were charged for self parking in which i thought was outrageous. Completely understand charging for valet but self parking charges are crazy.
- jessica (8/5): - The views were picture perfect. The beach and pool areas were amazing. I was slightly disappointed about the shower the water was coming out rusted and stained the wash cloths and also when they cleaned the room they took our towels but didn’t leave any clean ones so by the time we got back to our rooms we had to call for some. Plus side is that they dropped towels off right away.
- naomi (10/5): - I think the only thing i didnt like was when we take showers the floor would get all wet. Maybe they should fix that
Other than that it was amazing and beautiful
- Aida (10/5): - El personal muy amable,
Local limpio y agradable cerca de la playa. Lo unico q no me gusto es q cobran el estacionamiento. Si mr instalo ahi y el precio creo q debia estar eso incluido
- Chante (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay
- Kelly (10/5): Hated to go home - Beautiful pool areas. There are adult only sections as well as kid friendly. The beach is close by. They were doing some renovation in some areas but it wasnt disruptive at all. Food and service at the Roots restaurant were excellent. We got great recommendations for surrounding attractions and local restaurants also.
- Tim (2/5): - Casino was closed, the spa was closed, 8am construction work that wakes you up…
Room service forgets to close the door after cleaning up and leaves it open until you come back
- Octavia (6/5): - So this review is more reflective of the resort, if you’re seeing the reviews and think renovation will be complete by the time your trip arrives possible think again. The casino was closed, the spa was closed, and it was very limited things to actually do on the resort.
- Aime (6/5): - Friendly and polite staff but the cockroach issues, construction, noise, do not make up for that. Also the price is high considering all of this. We definately didnt get what we were expecting considering the price we paid and still had to pay for meals and drinks. Also the 1 hottub that was working was cold all but a half a day during our stay.
- Brenda (2/5): - Loved pool, beach, lush greenery, Iguanas restaurant and cleanliness.
Disliked the continued charges even after I checked out and after they placed a $1,000 hold per room for expenses; was told about the shutting down of the casino, spa, lobby and 3 restaurants due to construction passed the deadline to change hotels; they sent birthday cake to my niece’s room on the wrong day.
- Juan (8/5): - Muy bueno
- Tianisha (10/5): - Very great property very clean very peaceful as well! I would stay here again
- Bertina (10/5): - I will be back.... loved my room . Staff was amazing.
- Bertina (10/5): - Beach view was breath taking. Private beach was so pleasant
- Jarred (4/5): - Hotel not as advertised, they waited until day of trip to inform me there were renovations going on and that the casino wouldn’t be open. The construction had been going on for weeks and I could have been notified well before my trip. I called before I arrived at the hotel to confirm the amount needed to be paid deposits included and when I arrived I was told I had to pay and extra $750 in order to check in for incidentals and room service if I decided to use it. I called 3x asking to confirm and was never told once about this. So being charged an extra $750 altered my plans of what I could do while on vacation. The food was subpar and overly priced for what was served at the restaurants. Some
Of the food was ok but for the prices shown the taste and portions have to match.
- Shiteema (10/5): - Beautiful family friendly property & friendly staff. There is construction on site, but it didn't take away from a lovely experience.
- Denise H. (10/5): - Beautiful and the staff went above and beyond to help with everything.
- Eric (6/5): - Most rooms had mold in them. One so bad we needed a new room
- Mohd Amin Bin Abdul (6/5): - Good location by the beach and near the National Forest. Property is old and rundown despite the ongoing renovations.
- Doris esmeralda (2/5): - so many hidden fees
- Amber (10/5): - The most beautiful place to stay especially if you plan on doing activities in the rainforest! 10/10 experience!
- Cameron (2/5): - The casino was closed as well as several restaurants..there was construction the whole y
- Yolanda (10/5): - Amazing beachfront property, gardens and surrounding areas are well kept, rooms have been renovated. The hotel is going through renovations.
- Kier (6/5): Good - It was construction in the hotel loud noises. No one came to clean my room on Tuesday, August 19, which was my birthday. I didn’t even request. The phone did not work adequately and as well as the toilet was not working properly. I had to tell maintenance about the issues there was no type of proper compensation. I spent almost $2000 on my birthday trip some things I was just not satisfied about but overall I had a good time very pleasant people very respectful very nice clean atmosphere.
- Marianna (2/5): - The casino was closed. The pool was under construction. Many of the areas were shut down. We couldn’t sleep for three days because starting 7 AM was drilling the whole time next to our room. The stuff at the pool and the restaurant were nice.
- Sarron (2/5): - Never again will I stay here.
- Joewy (8/5): - Great location
- Jessica (10/5): - This was a wonderful property and very conveniently located to the amenities PR has to offer to the east. Room clean and very comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful all around.
- Gladys (4/5): - The property is going through renovations. The hallway carpets were extremely dirty. The 5 days we were there, they were never cleaned/vacuumed. They were doing construction work on the room next to us and they started @7:50am! The hours were supposed to be 9-5pm. We couldn’t sleep in on vacation and it was dirty.
- Alice (10/5): - Beautiful! Very clean
- Kristjana (6/5): - The property in undergoing renovations and the construction noise is unbearable. We couldn’t relax during the day either, nor at night time due to lot of noise from people walking and taking out-loud on the same floor up until 3:00am. One night screams and heated conversations outside around the property walked me up at 1:00am. The staff was very friendly and welcoming but overall the property needs and better management on regards of rules the visitors should respect and the construction shouldn’t take place on visitors expense.
- Alexis (10/5): - The property was very beautiful and safe is under construction so it was a little hard to get around and inconvenient
- Anthony (6/5): - Staff service was exceptional as well as the cleanliness. However, during our stay, construction works were ongoing. We were kind of lost in directions due to closure of lobby and halls. In addition, the elevator went out of service, which made it more difficult.
- Jose (10/5): Great Stay - great stay! beautiful place. beach was awesome and El Yunque Rainforest was fun. will definitely stay here again.
- Melissa (8/5): - I stayed in a renovated room. It was very nice and had a beautiful view of the pool and ocean. The food is a little pricey renovations were occurring in other parts of the resort. Otherwise it’s an amazing place to stay.
- Abdulmuhsen (2/5): - Very trouble experience I was going there to relax and enjoy my times but there was construction renovation at the hotel everyday I wakes me up 9am they don’t stop drilling until 5pm there was very annoying noice and very loud I called them to change my room which they did but nothing change same noice everyday and louder…
Before I travel the hotel representative call me and wanted to confirm my staying also he told me the renovation only in the casino then I called spoke with Expedia agent before I travel and I asked him to contact the hotel to see if there is construction renovation and he told me the same the renovation only by the casino. The first day I wake up on loud sound and construction noises.
This is a very bad experience and it was my mistake that I book throw Expedia because I called and made reports to Expedia agent and I asked to change the hotel they didn’t do anything only thing talking and they told me wait for call from us after that noting happened.
Very very bad experience and the hotel and Expedia do not deserve the money that I spent in.
I’m very very very very mad about this vacation literally I did not enjoy my time there.
- Natalia (10/5): - Food was ok
Beds were so comfortable!
- KELLY (2/5): - Incredibly disappointed. Construction on the property made for drilling noises that woke me up at 8 am as well as disturbing me on the beach and at the pool. It also made for closures inside the resort which made it difficult to find where to go and how to get there. Overcharged for buffet breakfast. No computers available due to construction closures. Hotel only notified me of the construction a week prior to my trip which made it too late to cancel. Upon complaining of these issues at the front desk , no sympathy nor financial compensation was offered. I will never stay at a Wyndham resort ever again.
- Abel (10/5): - Excellent
- Bridget (2/5): - The staff was amazingly kind, welcoming and helpful. However, the property is going through major renovations. We had booked a king bed but were told none were available when we arrived. We were notified of “some” of the closures and renovations a few days before our arrival. Once we arrived, it turned out that even more renovations were being done including the Maine lobby. We would no longer have access to leave the hotel from inside and now had to travel around the pool area to the resort attached next door to leave the property. Numerous restaurants were closed and replaced with “pop ups” throughout the hotel. The casino which we had originally been told would be ready by our stay was also closed as well as a few pools.
- Cinthia (2/5): - Ass
- Tracy (10/5): - The facility was absolutely beautiful! Our room was clean and comfortable, food was great, we ate from the tiki bar and the restaurants and we enjoyed everything.
- Alexandria (6/5): - I was so excited to stay here because it’s a “5 star resort” and it looked like it’d be a great time, but it felt more like a 3 star experience. Our bellhop, Josè, was so nice but at check in we were hit with a $150 incidentals charge per day, however, whatever you don’t spend from that $150 daily will be reimbursed at check out (you WILL spend that though. Drinks are $15+ a piece and food is overpriced.) We had to ask for our welcome drink which I thought was odd? Never had to do that before. I was 97% sure I added bfast to our room but was told I hadn’t and that it’d be $29/day per guest. THE BUFFET WAS TERRIBLE! Probably due to the remodel happening but only had continental breakfast options. Nothing to write home about. We stuck with Roots To Go croissants every morning which were pretty good. The pools were boring. Service was SO slow at Aura Adult Pool. No fun games at Margaritaville pool. Just kids splashing around. Palio was good for food but Iguanas was AMAZING! Roots & Caiku are ok. No nighttime entertainment which I’ve never encountered before. Only a magic show on Friday night which was probably the highlight of our stay AT the resort. The golf course is why we chose this resort and it was nice to play but the “ocean course” is only ONE hole by the ocean. False advertisement. I wasn’t impressed with this spot whatsoever & will never return for any reason. If you’re on the fence, I would try Hyatt or anywhere else.
- shakira (10/5): - I really enjoyed the access to the beach and the pools! I loved the bar and the food was really good. Only thing I would change is the adult pool closing at 9pm it should stay open later!
- Angela (10/5): - Thank you, very nice hotel!
- Rony (4/5): - There shouldn’t be extra fees nor parking payments
- jordan (10/5): - Good
- Mikyas (10/5): - Had an excellent stay. Can’t wait to come back😊
- Mildred (10/5): - Pretty resort kind workers a lot to do.
- Tammy (6/5): - First - Expedia and hotel blammed each-other when I needed dates switched. Expedia blamed the hotel. The hotel blamed expedia! We checked out After 5 nights and I WAS charged for 8!!!
- Cristina (8/5): -
- Wanda (10/5): - Loved the proximity to other beaches and the Rain Forest. A microwave for customers would be nice.
- jose (10/5): - The place is beautiful and very accommodating. The restaurants are great and pool area is cool as well as the daily activities they setup.
- Dolly (4/5): - Noisy from pool
- Antonio (10/5): - The resort is beautiful and it’s huge so if you’re not here long, it may be hard to discover everything there is to do on the resort. The prices for the food are a bit pricey but worth it. I lost my sunglasses in the ocean and so did another patron, but the beach is really pretty and private. I highly recommend getting a rental car and exploring other parts of the island outside of the resort. I want to give a special thank you to: Scott Robinson, Jacob, and Yariel for being so helpful and kind. I would definitely stay at this resort again. The pools were clean. The rooms were clean. The resort is currently being renovated so by the time we come back, it’ll be even better.
- Jose (6/5): - The eating options were limited and super expensive for what it was. There are no activities or shows for entertainment during evenings. Getting out of the resort requires a car rental, an Uber, or taxi. None of which are cheap.
To keep your vacation on a reasonable budget you “must” go to a grocery store and stack up on snacks and alcoholic beverages. If you purchase them from the resort you can easily double your bill!
I don’t mind paying five star prices for five star service. This wasn’t it. Perhaps if you’re a golfer this might make more sense as a resort..Although the beach was very nice, it had limited seating options, and doesn’t make up for the rest.
Golfers may care more about course conditions and challenges. This resort might be perfectly acceptable for them. Not regular families just vacationing so much..,
- Carlos Rafael (10/5): - Staff very friendly and professional and very helpful attitude when it came down to answering questions or request. Most definitely would stay again. Very worth it
- Victoria (10/5): - So
- Erin (10/5): - We came to stay for a vacation and to tour the grounds as an option for our wedding next year…and we decided to get married here! It’s a nice size resort with beautiful pools and an incredible beach. And literally everything we ate at all the restaurants was amazing. Roots was the best food and did not disappoint for three dinners! They are renovating so at times the notice was an issue and the carpeting was gross in the hallways, but that is getting replaced soon. We loved our stay and bringing our kids back for Thanksgiving weekend:)
