Guest Reviews
- David (8/5): Great location with strong history - Great location, room very comfortable, and good coffee available on 1st floor. Love the historic charm! Onsite parking was steep, room had no windows & very small bathroom counter space for 2 ppl.
- Darren (8/5): Good location but slightly dated - Good location A bit dated
- Bianca (7/5): The place to be in French Quarter - The hotel was in an excellent location, the staff were beautiful and helpful, in particular Rody and Andre.
There was a coffee machine in the bedroom as well as a small dining area with coffee machines as well.
The twin share room was large and suited my friend and I and our large luggage well. Our room did not have a window to outside so it felt a little claustrophobic. The room was on the ground floor corridor near the lift and stairs and there was a large gap under the door which resulted in all corridor noise coming into the room, which occurred quite late and early. Could do with an additional seal on the door to help minimise noise, we tried a rolled up towel.
Ras
- Per (6/5): Great location and staff - Location We had no windows and the aircon was extremely loud
- Kasey (10/5): -
- Julian (8/5): -
- Tammy Crowell (10/5): We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful hotel. Wonderful staff and very comfortable - Historical and beautiful
- Mitchell (7/5): May visit - Great central location. Rooms were a good size, and the building is interesting, as it was the first school in Louisiana. The car park roof is extremely low...watch your head, and car body work.
- Thelma (10/5): -
- Amanda (8/5): Classy and classic - The hotel is an old building and is charming and characterful. In the heart of the French quarter and such a great location, central to all tourist activities. The staff were very helpful and there was a central point to access coffee at all times. Small pool but perfect and lots of outside sitting areas. On arrival I was given a windowless room. This isn't stipulated as an option in the room selection and wasn't what I wanted or expected for a 4 night stay. I checked with reception and they were able to find me an alternative, but smaller room. It would be better if the hotel categorised their rooms as windowless to avoid any misunderstanding.
The wardrobe smelt a little foisty which can be an issue given the age of the hotel.
- Nicholas (10/5): -
- Geraldine (9/5): Location Location Location!!! - The location was absolutely amazing smack in the middle of the French Quarter. You don’t need a car but if you have one, they have a great garage.
Loved the different interior courtyards they were like an oasis.
The staff was amazing. We had an issue with a flat tire and the valet and Bellman were incredibly helpful. The bathroom was fine, not great. I would suggest bringing earplugs as the walls are quite thin. We could hear our neighbors talking and their TV and people talking in the corridor and outside our room. But all was fine as long as we wore earplugs. None of this would stop me from coming back to this hotel again. It would be my first choice. This is just to help future guests to be prepared.
- Taylor (10/5): -
- Adam (10/5): A perfect stay at a perfect property. - Literally everything. EVERYONE on the staff was incredible. Patrice, Rody, Destiny, Andrew and Mark were all EXCEPTIONAL hosts. I could not be happier with my experience and I will definitely stay here again if I ever come back to NOLA. Nothing. Great location, amazing staff, nothing bad at all to say.
- REGENT Lionel (9/5): The place to be à la Nouvelle Orléans - Hôtel très bien situé, au cœur du quartier français, mais très calme. Personnel très serviable et sympathique. Tout était très bien. RAS
- Mettner (10/5): - GREAT ROOM GREAT SERVICE Coffee maker spews grounds out
- Ross (8/5): - Great location in the Quarters.
Friendly helpful staff.
Room was comfortable and clean.
Garden sitting area is very nice.
- Lourinda (8/5): A nice location in the French Quarter - A great location, friendly and helpful staff. Our room was very noisy, located across from the building entry and next to the morning coffee space.
- MeMe1963 (10/5): - Beautiful, clean and great location
- James (9/5): -
- megan (10/5): -
- Cedric (9/5): -
- Reggie (9/5): -
- Jennifer (9/5): Definitely will come back . - Absolutely loved it !! The staff was professional, kind . Made our first time stay in Nola exceptional. Wish the water was a little hotter . But that’s it.
- Joyce (10/5): Wonderful experience, I'd visit again. - Loved every staff person we met! Very professional, polite, fun helpful.

- JACQUELINE (7/5): Good choice. Great staff. Old New Orleans flare. A bit over priced - Location and Staff Room door needs to be more secure.
More room lighting needed.
- Hires (10/5): We were escaping an ice storm, this was the best retreat! - The people welcoming us were so friendly! Best location. Nothing
- Rodney (10/5): Excellent staff - Location
Nulla
- Juan (5/5): I felt the place de arms over rated for what they charge - Location was key for us. Great location The room had no windows. Mattresses were worn down made sleeping very uncomfortable. Pool area was dirty and full of rats. Very unpleasant and gross
- Gary (9/5): Great stay. If we come back to New Orleans we will definitely stay here again. - Location was excellent and wonderfully close to Jackson Square and Cafe Du Monde. Convenient to French Quarter sites and tours in the heart of the French Quarter. Our hotel room was gorgeous and the hotel courtyard was a beautiful setting with a classic New Orleans feel. Housekeeping was fine until our last night there [Sunday]. They did not clean our room the last night of our stay, and when we called the front desk's attention to that in the late afternoon, no cleaning was offered -- they just offered to bring clean towels to the room, which they did not do until after a second reminder call late in the evening.
- Katie (10/5): It was a fun weekend getaway - So beautiful, reminded me of interview with a vampire
- Karina (10/5): elegant, antique and refined. a MUST stay in the French Quarters. - in the heart of the French Quarters, right by the Carter brothers mansion and Vampire Café. the patio was absolutely stunning, the room was a beautiful mix between new and antique. the staff were veryy friendly and kind. maybe add a few more rat traps around the patio/pool area.
- Amanda (10/5): -
- Heather (10/5): -
- Anne (10/5): We had two Rooms and it was so easy to get to everything around, like Muriel’s and Cafe du Monde, and Jackson Square, no - Location and on-site parking valet, rooms were amazing and spacious. Staff was friendly and helpful! Nothing, it was great!
- Debra (10/5): I'd love to stay there again! - The location was perfect. The hotel was quiet and private but an easy walk to wherever we wanted to go. The pool and courtyard were lovely. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- Michael (10/5): -
- Melissa (10/5): - Beautiful!!! Nothing
- Beth (10/5): -
- Greg (10/5): Absolutely exceptional. - It’s a fantastic location, rooms are amazing, staff are exceptional. This is a New Orleans hidden gem and I highly recommend this to any traveller looking for a well located hotel.
Whenever we are in New Orleans, Place D’Armes will be our first choice Nothing
- Nicole (5/5): Great location but the rooms are in need of serious updates for the price. - location is very good WE suite was essentially a converted attic and very, very dark and minimal decor
- Jeff (10/5): We LOVED our stay here. Was definitely more than we expected. Place D’armes will be our choice anytime we visit New Orle - Beautiful hotel and courtyards. Great location and the staff was excellent! Our king balcony room was awesome N/A
- Judith (10/5): We highly recommend. The restaurant next door was also exceptional. - Great place to stay. Staff is exceptional and location is convenient to all of French Quarter and River Our first room had temperature problems which we chose to deal with the first night, but changed our mind in the morning and moved to another room. We were given a price adjustment from r the inconvenience
- Naoko (9/5): - Great location!
- Roxanne (10/5): Perfect location in the French Quarter. Pull up valet parking which is well worth the price as there is really no where - Very convenient location, beautiful pool area and grounds. Lovely interior. There was really nothing we didn’t like. Very accommodating.
- Rachel (10/5): -
- Maria Cristina (8/5): -
- ZAYER (4/5): Location is good, however you make sure to have a room with a window. My experience was terribly bad - The location was perfect. At the heart of the French quarter. The room was very very bad. It did not have a window. it smelt muddy because the sun does not enter it. I asked to put me in a room with a window and they said they did not have any available. The whole stay, I felt I was breathing mold!
- Katherine (10/5): -
- John (10/5): Perfect stay for a sexy NOLA experience - Perfect location, clean and sexy interior. Excellent price for the location. Historic feel. The restaurants nearby are phenomenal. Walking distance to….everything… No windows in our room.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Wonderful experience, certainly recommend. - The service was beyond incredible. The rooms were beautiful as was the common areas. I will definitely be stay8ng here again. I don't have any complaints.
- Laurel (10/5): Fun and eventful! - Location & our room was nice and cozy. The staff was nice and very friendly I didn’t like being charge way extra for forgetting myself when booking the room. I made reservations for my son, his girlfriend & granddaughter. But forgot myself. It was my fault but still.
- Susan (9/5): -
- karen (10/5): - staff was fantastic
lovely building ice machine was down
- Barbara (10/5): Highly recommend this hotel. - Amazing location. Beautiful hotel. Great value. Nothing
- Fiona (8/5): Great location. - The location of the property was walking distance to everything in the French Quarter. Patrice, the receptionist, was very welcoming and super friendly. The room had a balcony which faced onto the street. The street was noisy. I’d recommend a room not facing the street. The room & bathroom were small but ok for a 1 night stay.
- David (7/5): - Location is GREAT
Price is very good. Room I was sold had no windows and parking is 47$. Both of which I missed in booking process. Lobby is shabby
- picesgirl6 (10/5): Great place -
- Brannan (8/5): -
- Kelly (8/5): Overall I would highly recommend! - The location was awesome, I just wish for what I paid I would have at least got a window. Staff was amazingly friendly and very helpful. I love the fact that they held our stuff for us after check out bc flight was later and scheduled our taxi for us . Awesome! The shower and bathroom didn't look really clean.
- CMM (10/5): Great Place To Stay - We like everything about Place D'Armes. The location is perfect in Jackson Square very close to the ⛪️ Church. They have a lovely small pool to relax in located in the Beautiful Courtyard. Rooms have a fridge, coffee pot, large closet, large shower and comfortable beds. The rooms are large with a comfortable chair for reading or relaxing in as well as a desk w/chair. Just Lovely. On arrival, they have a parking area on the roof via elevator so no need to worry about your vehicle til the day you leave. Staff is wonderful, very helpful and full of ideas to enrich your stay in NOLA. Make sure to talk to Andrew or Stewart for any questions or places to eat and things to do. Not a thing.

- Melanie (10/5): lovely. classic. beautiful. - beautiful gardens, classic architecture for the area it smells pretty musty in the lobby area - but it’s an old hotel
- Marc (8/5): nice hotel in the center of town. - right in the center of NOLA and with a parking on site. There is a very nice sitting area around the swimming pool with trees and tables and chairs. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. Also free coffee in the morning. We were a little surprised that we had booked an inside room without a window, but it prooved nice to sleep in in the morning.
- Lucinda (10/5): -
- Cheryl (10/5): -
- richardf (1/5): Complete rip off from start to finish. - Nothing. It was discracfully bad. Rats running across my wife's feet while sitting near the pool, an old guy standing in his window with the curtains open masterbating while staring at my wife by the pool. It goes on and on. The AC in the room was so loud that when it turned off it woke us up every time. It started and stopped repeatedly all night. The desk was no help whatsoever when it came to the two events we paid for in advance. We got ripped off for both events, we went to where we were supposed to be and got there early just to be stood up. Everything about this stay was horrible. We booked everything through booking.com. next time, we'll look elsewhere for hotel and attraction events but we will NEVER return to new Orleans.
- Wendy (8/5): Lovely hotel embedded in the heart of the Quarter - Friendly and helpful staff, lovely courtyard, comfortable bed, fridge in room
- Valerie (10/5): Fantastic location, amazing staff, gorgeous comfortable rooms - Everything! It was fantastic! No microwave
- Lord Stephen (9/5): Great location to explore the French Quater. - The old French architecture and location. Nothing.
- Betina Sandra (9/5): Muy lindo hotel y buen servicio - El
Estilo del
Hotel ,
Muy pintoresco
- Paul A Brown (10/5): -
- Jane (10/5): The hotel was beautiful and clean with beautiful gardens. - Great location, within walking distance to every thing in the French Quarter. Beautiful gardens and the room was exceptional and very quiet.
- Joni (10/5): - Location was perfect for walking around the French Quarter. Right in the heart of Bourbon and Jackson Square. The hotel was charming and felt in tune with historical NOLA. Staff was fantastic. I would definitely stay here again.
- Beverly (9/5): -
- Vincent (10/5): Awesome - Great location and clean Very noisy due to being right next to the elevator
- ANDREA (9/5): - We loved the pool, the garden area, and friendliness of staff.
Also the hotel is in a quiet and safe location of French Quarter and at short walking distance from the touristic attractions, key museums, and from the quarter nightlife.
Probably the best hotel in the French Quarter Some rooms have no windows - Check while booking
- Janie (10/5): I brought 20 and 21 year old grandsons. Great time! Staff very friendly - Walking distance to everything Room dark
- George (10/5): -
- JULIE (10/5): Perfect NOLA experience!!!!!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - EVERYTHING!!!!!! Perfect location...wonderful staff...so charming and beautiful!!!! Made our first trip to NOLA a dream come true!! We WILL be back!!!!!! That we had to leave 😭❤️
- Wanda (8/5): Comfortable and convenient - Location was awesome, bed was comfortable Room was dark
- Deanna (5/5): -
- Caroline (10/5): We loved the hotel! It was made so special by the staff and the beautiful courtyard with pool! - The staff were exceptional! Friendly, welcoming, efficient, helpful and kind. Location was excellent and the buildings in the hotel have been restored sympathetically (it was the first school in Louisiana) and create an oasis of calm in the central garden courtyard with lovely swimming pool Would have preferred not to be next to the lift as it was a bit noisy in the night with the lift bell and people's conversations, and one night a confused drunk person was trying to get in to our room in the middle of the night
