- rhona (10/5): - Great location, peaceful, near park, tram stops nearby for easy access to the city.
Beautiful home from home, with absolutely everything you need.
Great communication from host. We had a minor issue with the heating and contacted Mary who responded quickly even though Boxing Day to resolve to things. Nothing - fabulous house
- Greg (10/5): Beautifully home in great location - Well appointed home throughout. Light and airy. All that you need for a great stay in Melbourne. Very responsive host. Great location near Princes Park and for the 1 or 5 tram into the City.
- Vivien (8/5): Very happy thanks -
- Roseann (7/5): We enjoyed our stay thank you - lovely house with all amenities and great location.
- Lynda (9/5): Very comfortable house in a quiet residential area, with a lovely garden to sit in. - This is a beautiful house with everything you could need in the kitchen and bathroom.
Although there is lots of natural light, in most of the rooms you are not overlooked by any neighbouring property.
There were plenty dishwasher tablets provided, and all the laundry products you might need. We used the outside washing line several times.
It's only a few minutes' walk to the Lygon Street tram, which is very frequent. Our only problem was parking, for the couple of days when we borrowed a car. There was a visitors' parking permit in a drawer, but no instructions on when, if or where it could be used. The house instructions just mentioned the free 4 hour parking out of business hours.
Having said that, we could easily have messaged Mary to ask: she always replied promptly to our messages. But we only had the car overnight a couple of times, so we didn't bother asking.
- Robyn (8/5): Very comfortable home away from home - Location was perfect for us, between family members living nearby, and close to public transport for the city. Home was very spacious, with pleasant outside area (which we didn't use as it was winter). Very well equipped kitchen, very nice lounge area as well. Unfortunately had some hot water issues with the shower on occasion, Mary was responsive to this but our initial fix did not seem to work the next time. Everything else was great.
- Renee (10/5): Great spot and excellent accommodation. - Comfortable and well maintained.
- Paul (9/5): Quiet surroundings and comfortable living. - Great location that is easily accessible by walking and transport. Comfortable living areas and quiet surroundings. Close vicinity to parklands and Rathdowne and Lygon Streets. If anything the garden out the back is a little overgrown which made it difficult to get to the bins.
- Ian (10/5): Another exceptional stay at the Little Victorian Terrace House and Melbourne - This is our third stay at this wonderful property, so we know the house very well and that is why we return. We are getting to know the area very well and our favorite local for cofffee is Naughty Boy Cafe on Lygon Street only a 10 min walk . Down on Rathdowne Street you have Geralds Wine bar and veggie shops ,deli and for organic produce Clay pop into Calle for a sweet treat.
If you walk further to Nicholson Street catch the tram to Coles supermarket and other great shops . From Lygon Street catch the tram straight into the City Centre
Exceptional property and we love Melbourne Nothing
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -

- Nikki (10/5): Great location/ very central/ quiet / well appointed and very comfortable ! - The house is on a quiet street, but walking distance to plenty of great shops/restaurants and bars. The house was perfect for 3 of us, well considered, lovely bathroom, great kitchen, and lovely rear garden. It was a real respite after a day out and about, and we loved coming home to it in the evening. We didnt meet Mary, but she texted various details, and it all went really well. I would book it again next time I am back in Melbourne. Thank you Mary ! All good, no complaints !
- Boychenko (10/5): Great location, beautiful house! - Location was excellent - close to everything we wanted to visit. The house is spotless and very beautiful. The most important for me - it was very comfortable with a pleasant temperature. Highly recommended! We liked everything. One point I’d mention: the parking near the house is free but restricted to 4 hours during business hours. However, we found an 8h parking 2 minutes walking distance from the terrace. So, we were just moving the car in the morning and in the evening and were walking / using tram everywhere we wanted to go.
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional - This is our second visit to this accomodation and we loved staying here just as much as the first time .
The house is very well appointed with a great kitchen and bathroom .
The house is in a quiet street in Princess Hill which has cafes and shops within easy walking distance There is nothing to dislike about the house
- Suzanne (10/5): Perfect stay in Princes Hill Victoria cottage! - We were delighted with our stay at this beautiful Victorian cottage. It was quiet, comfortable and perfect in every way. Brilliant location. Thank you. Nothing
- Anne (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (10/5): Christchurch to Melbourne for wonderful trip - The home appears small from the front facade but behind is a wonderful comfortable home which has all the modern facilities and a well fitted out kitchen.
The area of Princes Hill is wonderful very close to the tram in Lygon Street.Lovely home great stay
were going back in december to Nothing to report minor issue with hot water but easily fixed

- Suzannah (9/5): Fantastic home away from home - Wonderful place, perfect base from which we could explore Melbourne. Quiet, spacious and comfortable.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Well appointed in a good location. Host very helpful.
- Kärt (10/5): Excellent place to stay - quiet neighbourhood but fast access ti the center - I loved the spacious apartment-house, the graden with its surprises (fresh mint, strawberries, lemons)! Everything that you can think of is there in terms of kitchen stuff and else. The location was super: lot's of greenery, quiet, really good access by tram to the city. The host was very afriendly and helpful! N/A
- Darren (9/5): Superb - Lovely courtyard out the back. Coffee was good. Broken chair outside meant we couldn't sit outside at the table as a family.
Bathroom door didn't latch shut.
- Betina (9/5): A lovely location close to our older children living near the university which made for a great stay. - Great location near parklands but also close proximity to other restaurant/cafe areas. Construction noise from renovations next door.
- Bevan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Suzanne (10/5): Very nice house with everything we needed. Nice garden. - Great location -easy to catch tram, nice areas for walking. Sydney Road restaurants are a short walk. All good.
- Shane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Allan (9/5): Lovely Victorian terrace - Centrally located within walking distance of all the Carlton restaurants.
The accommodation was comfortable and tastefully furnished. There was nothing to dislike.
- Kirsten (10/5): Will definitely book again when we come to Melbourne, highly recommend - Comfortable and well designed, the property was even better than the photos, beautiful back yard, great heating, lovely facilities, comfy lounge room, wonderful bathroom with large bath and shower, large bedrooms, lovely area, close to transport. Nothing
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sonja (9/5): Great stay in an immaculately presented home! - Clean, well presented and comfortable home in a lovely, quiet neighbourhood that’s close to shops, cafes, Princes Park, Sydney Road and short tram ride to the CBD.
- Melinda (8/5): Overall, we had a lovely stay and appreciated the well appointed kitchen. - it is close to RMIT and restaurants. It has everything you need and is located in a quiet street. The property was very cold when we arrived and we couldn’t turn the heating on. it was automatically set. When the heating did come on it was warm and cosy.
- Margaret (9/5): Delightful terrace home in a lovely location. Would stay again if we are in Melbourne. - My sister and I had a lovely five night stay. The location was great for us. We did not have a vehicle but enjoyed walks in the nearby park and access to the tram stop was a bonus (no more than 10 minute stroll). The property itself was nicely presented in a quiet location. The property is well maintained given its era. Attention to detail was obvious with nice quality appointments and styling. The kitchen was well equipped and certainly suited our needs. The basic pantry items on hand and the abundance of coffee pods were appreciated! Had some issues with the heating as it was set on a four hour timer (4-8pm). As a couple of cold frogs who had just flown in from QLD, it was initially quite chilly in the house. I contacted the owner and she was most obliging and popped over on the second night to sort it so we were toasty warm for the rest of our stay. Being an older style home, there was also an issue with the door knob on the bathroom door but Mary attended to that as well (and also left us some treats for our troubles which were appreciated as a nice touch).
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (10/5): We loved our stay in this cosy home in a quiet residential street - We booked the property as we wanted the explore the suburbs north of Melbourne. The location was great, in a quiet residential street, close to a lovely park, a highly recommended cafe (Naughty Boy) and within a 5 minute walk to the tram network.
We loved the house. It was well equipped with a modern bathroom, two comfy beds, a nice kitchen overlooking the garden and a relaxing lounge. Mary (the host) had set the heating which made the house lovely and warm when we returned from our explorations.
We would definitely book again if/when we return. There was nothing that we did not like.
- Petrina (9/5): A great little house with plenty of character. - The house was located in a very quiet and peaceful street, yet very close to the city and northside of town. Everything inside the house was great, allowing for a relaxing stay. N/A
