Guest Reviews
- Alyssa (4/5): Disappointing -
- Rieko (2/5): If you want to go Akihabara, Ueno, Asakusa area with a group of six or more with limited budget, this place is wonderful - Roomy.
Bonus, there is a great public bath house between Iriya station and this apartment. We love it a lot! Not updated. We stayed almost a week, but they gave us only one sets of poor quality towels. No basic spices including salt and oil, and wash detergent. To add there was a very small second hand door lock that you had to manually attach to the door which easily could be pulled off.
- John (8/5): Loved the area- nice quiet street with plenty around to do. Will definitely go back - Location and great communication with owners. Great size for a large group Beds are hard
- Julian (1/5): worst stay we had in Japan, not recommended inspite of the yet still good ratings - location was ok, quiet neighbourhood Definitely don't recommend this accomodation:
Out of the intially 7 nights booked, we had to leave after the first one due to our late arrival. Would we have arrived earlier we would have left immediately.
We were greeted by a foul smell, the whole bathroom was covered in mold, there was standing water on the floor near the drain. Kitchen appliances were worn down and sticky, almost every bed (out of the 8) had stains and hair on them. The mirror and TV were most likey wiped with the moldy rugs we found in the bathroom. The photos simply do not show the reality, the same goes for the still high rating here on booking. I am hoping to either warn other travellers or cause the owner to get some serious work done in their apartment.
The owner was not really cooperative, after stating that the issues we found are just caused by cleaning water and aging, he offered to clean the apartment "again" on the third day of our booking when we already had found new accomodation. From one day to the next he then switched to sending "prewritten" messages for check-out and how to leave a good review, completely ignoring the previous conversation. Going through the booking customer service did not help us either, they simply believed him when he said the issue was adressed immediately inspite of the clear communication history which proves otherwise. We will most likely do not get any refund for all the troubles we went through, so at least i am trying to spare any other fellow tourists from experiencing them as we did.
- Baldelovar (10/5): Exceptional - Very spacious very clean near in asakusa, ueno and supermarket
- Pinporn (10/5): Exceptional - Big room, the owner is very kind.
Perfect location
- Christopher (10/5): A great place to stay in Tokyo - Each bedrooms have sufficient space to accommodate 2 or more people. The shower and heater works fantastic. The cooking stove, microwave oven, and also the washing machine are all very convenient to use. When we came here, it is still winter and so the heating of the aircon in the rooms really helps us to stay warm. The dining table and chairs are sufficient enough for the family. It was reasonably accessible to Iriya Station - Hibiya Line, Asakusa, and Ueno. The hosts was also very responsive. We very much appreciate our stay here. Thank you to the host owner for accommodating us. We will book here again, and definitely recommend it. Just minor things like the random power shuts off and trips but no worries as it will go back in just seconds.
- Rafidah (9/5): Recommended to stay here. Clean, spacious - Spacious Nothing
- Kathryn (9/5): Great value for central Tokyo - We were a group of 9 who stayed here for 12 nights and this apartment was great. Has a small elevator to get to 3F so good for older people. Very roomy with 4 bedrooms. Had heaps of space for suitcases to lie on the floor. Beds are all a great size. Mattresses firm but comfortable. Location to metro/subway trains was good and it was only a 15 min walk to Sensō-ji temple. Can see Tokyo Skytree from the street. Value for money for this place was excellent for a large central Tokyo apartment. A few quirks which we didn't find to be too problematic but would be good to be aware of before booking. There is only one toilet and bathroom but we managed fine. The main heat pump/aircon unit in the lounge faulted a couple of times but communication was good and we got it sorted each time. They also cleared the rubbish when they came to fix this which was great. As it's an old building, using too many appliances at one time can trip the fuse in the lounge/kitchen area but you can easily reset it in the bathroom fuse box cupboard. And finally, as with other reviews, it would be great to have some extra stuff in the kitchen e.g cutlery, coffee mugs.
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional - Tthe location was perfect for our needs. the place was quite large and complete with kitchen and washing/drying facilities. The hist was prompt in answering any questions requests. nothing
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ana (9/5): Superb -
- Harvey (10/5): Excellent Accommodation - I had an exceptional stay at this apartment. The facilities are excellent and the rooms are very spacious. The accommodation is within walking distance of attractions and train stations, very accessible.
The host was great, communication was excellent and very accommodating, we were able to leave our luggage until 3pm on check out day. He promptly answered all emails.
I would highly recommend and will stay again. Absolutely nothing, was perfect for our needs.
- Shukri (9/5): Superb -
- Carla (9/5): Very comfortable - For a Tokyo apartment, the bedrooms are huge. The 4 bedrooms each contain 2x queen size beds and there is ample storage space for luggage.
The location is very handy for access to Asakusa and Ueno, with many prominent sights, e.g. Kappabashi Street (Kitchenware); Senso-ji Temple being a short walk. For those travelers who don’t mind a slightly longer walk, the apartment offers access to Tokyo Skytree and Ueno Park. Tokyo Skytree is visible from the street.
The communications were thorough and responsive. We had daily morning issues with power dropping out briefly that caused the hot water service to stop working. On first experience, response was swift and we were shown how to resolve this.
The photo supplied of the residence greatly helped as our Taxi driver found it difficult to pin point on arrival during the night. We found the apartment using the photo. A few suggestions for improving the overall experience are:
* instructions for dishwashing products for non-Japanese. We found a large cultural divide in dishwashing. The Google translate revealed warnings of possible skin reactions, bleaching and emphasised to rinse any residue - a bit alarming.
* additional cleaning supplies for wiping and sanitising kitchen benches, tables and stove.
* instructions for fan operation in bathroom/ shower room.
* kitchenware was very basic and sparse. For an apartment that can sleep 16, there is a lack of cookware. The saucepans and frypans are small and making full sized meals for 4 people was difficult. Larger pans and the inclusion of ceramic mugs for tea and coffee would be an enhancement.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kiki (10/5): Huge and clean house - A clean and spacious house large enough for a family of 7. Located in a residential area, it was quiet and safe. The landlord was friendly and helped us make our stay comfortable. There are delicious sushi restaurants and yakitori izakayas within 200m.
- Romeo (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, full kitchen, 4 bedrooms, proximity to stations and attractions. Could not figure out how to do the recycle. Had a lot of bottles and cans and no where to place them.
