Guest Reviews
- Shelley (10/5): - This property was perfect location for us and we loved our stay in this converted horse lorry. Super tidy, clean and cozy. 100% returning. The farm was stunning and the views.
- Michelle (10/5): Recommend as a quirky bit of luxury in nature - Perfect retreat. Clean and comfortable bed. Lovely welcome treat and the animals are well cared for
- Kate (10/5): A private & peaceful little gem. - Although the accommodation is set on a farm with the owners family home, it is peaceful and private. The Shire has everything you need inside to make a little home from home, and the hot tub is an added bonus! We have loved our stay in this last minute find.
- Grzegorz (10/5): -
- Jason (9/5): Honeymoon in tranquillity - We were on our honeymoon. We loved the tranquillity, no traffic, and it was very peaceful, and the welcome pack was a very nice addition. we found there was no light shining down on the cooker, which made it quite dark even with the lighting. And the hot tub could do with some netting around to stop the bugs
- Jane (10/5): - Brilliant, amazing views, converted horse box very comfy and hot tub excellent š Nothing
- Rhonda (9/5): Superb -
- Bethany (10/5): 10/10 - Everything! This was such a beautiful, calming, and tranquil place to stay. It was super clean, everything you needed was there, and the hot tub felt like pure luxury!!! The staff were amazing and replied super quickly. The view was stunning, and we also got to meet the animals right outside where we were staying. There was also a private garden for another space, if you needed to have it, shared with other people staying at Cyfie Farm too. We travelled all over Wales the 4 days we were there, and it was a great base to do so! Would seriously recommend! N/A
- Amy (10/5): Always want to come back - Always a brilliant stay, can never find any fault. Comfortable, clean and all the amenities are fab. The hot tub is always a welcomed bonus. Looking forward to another visit š«¶š½

- Amy (9/5): Superb -
- Jaqueline (10/5): Just what was needed, super pretty and relaxing - Absolutely everything Having to leave
- Hayleigh (10/5): Exceptional - We really loved our stay and appreciated the little goody basket that was left. There was also an information guide for the hot tub and things to do in the area inside that we found very helpful. The space and facilities were exceptional, and the early morning view of the animals and the land was beautifully serene. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and we will definitely be returning again.
- Joseph (10/5): Perfect - We stayed here for my girlfriendās birthday and it was beautiful. It was an easy self check in with clear instructions available for all appliances and amenities. If we had any additional questions Matt was just a phone call away and was amazing, attentive and come to help immediately. Thereās a lovely shop on site with the cutest home made goods and gifts which is definitely worth a visit. My girlfriend loved her knitted donkey (made by June, thank you!). The hot tub was amazing and perfect for couples and gave us the best break we needed. Thereās 3 inquisitive and funny black cats on site and they came to visit us on the evenings and provided us great company. We had a great visit and the animals were the best bonus (special shout out to Ben and Jerry the donkeys). Itās a great stay for animal lovers and couples who need an escape. Thank you so much, we will be back! Nothing
- Lynsey (10/5): Beautiful, peaceful place to stay. - The shire is beautifully converted.
We absolutely loved our stay here, with the added bonus of a hot tub!
If youāre looking for a peaceful retreat this is just what you need. There was nothing we didnāt like!
- Stephen (10/5): Amazing. Fantastic. Awesome. Beautiful. Spectacular. Quirky. - What wasnāt to like about the property. Sat in a great location with fabulous views of the surrounding countryside. The quirkiness of staying in a horse box. The private garden and hot tub. We liked , no loved everything. Absolutely nothing.
- Joseph (10/5): Stayed for night away, the hot tub was great and lorry was very cosy. Having a little walk around the farm to see the an - Wonderful little conversation with everything you could need. Very peaceful and relaxing. No issues whatsoever.
- Natalie (8/5): Would definitely return again - Amazing location, beautiful views very peaceful Well laid out and quite
- Clare (10/5): Exceptional - It is something completely different. It is very comfortable and clean. The farm is fabulous and the staff were really helpful and pleasant You are in the middle of nowhere. So shop before arriving. The roads are scary to drive on at night. But I have nothing bad to say about the actual accommodation
- S (10/5): Enjoyable and relaxing stay! - This converted horse lorry has so much character and charm.
The cleanliness, decor, views and location are amazing!! So much so, that we've been back on more than one occasion.
The owners and family are all so friendly and welcoming.
We have recommended the farm to all our family and friends. Particularly those that are animal lovers.
Lastly, the level of detail (including the welcome basket) made it so homely, that we were sad to leave. Thank you and we look forward to our next visit!
- Jesse (10/5): Originally, cozy, comforting and tons of cute animals - It was perfect
- Craig (10/5): This place and accommodation really has the wow factor and we LOVED it. Weāll definitely be looking to return āŗļø - Everything.
Ticked every box and more Nothing
- Sarah (10/5): Beautiful property with hot tub and stunning countryside views, 100% would book again! Thank you!! š - Such a lovely little find, so peaceful and relaxing with really stunning views. The Shire was decorated absolutely beautifully, with the perfect mix of modern/cottage style. The hot tub was our original reason for booking but it turned out as a bonus because we only used it once as we actually really enjoyed just being here anyway. Itās located on a farm so you can go and visit the animals which was a nice change from our usual busy city life. There is an honesty shop on site where you could get meat from the farm and borrow any books/board games during your stay. The hosts were super friendly and even left us a little gift hamper with some snacks and fresh eggs from the farm. Unreal stay, 100% would recommend and we are looking forward to booking again and coming back soon. The only down side was the difficult drive there. It took us over 2 hours and was a lot of narrow country lanes, 100% worth the trip though.
- Lincymol (9/5): Superb -
- Amy (10/5): A well needed peaceful birthday break! - Everything! Peaceful, privacy, see and hear animals/nature. Hot Tub is lovely! Everything you need! Staff are friendly. The little shop is adorable with handmade items and produce. Thereās absolutely nothing to not like! If I had to choose something, itās leaving!
- Richard (10/5): Lovely, cosy, clean and comfortable - Loved how comfortable and cosy it was and of course the hot tub! The small touch of the gift basket with eggs and treats was lovely too! Nothing! The weather wasnāt great but that canāt be helped! Made the dash from the hot tub more refreshing!
- David (10/5): Perfect little Gem! - Perfect location to get away from the hustle and bustle!
Conversion has been done to a very high standard, with everything you need whether it be a short stay or long. The bed area may look small and tricky to get into, was sooo comfortable, and with plenty of room.
Outdoor area was perfect, and you had plenty of privacy to enjoy the outdoor area, but still see the animals and beautiful scenery from lorry.
Bonus, there is a little shop on the farm where you can purchase handmade gifts and also fresh produce from the farm.
Will definitely be back for a visit in the near future! Nothing to complain about.
- Naomi (10/5): A tranquil escape. - The property had everything you would need - even down to utensils and cooking equipment. The property owners left a beautiful little welcome hamper which was a lovely touch.
The grounds were beautiful and the views were stunning.
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will 100% be returning. The only minor thing was the bed was slightly uncomfortable, however not enough to put us off returning.
- Anya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lindsey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (10/5): Amazing place. Highly recommend - Amazing.
- Shannon (10/5): Exceptional - Everything! Such a beautiful farm and lots of amazing animals. The exterior and interior of the Shire is exceptional. You can see that they really looked into every detail. We had lovely fresh eggs on arrival, sadly we couldnāt eat them all because we were gone early due to work commitments but next time we will definitely stay to enjoy breakfast. The hot tub was really clean and hot, the bed was really comfy and the sound of the rain on the roof made it even more cosy and the guest book was lovely and detailed to read. Nothing not to like
- S (10/5): Relaxing and enjoyable stay - The location, views, tranquility, the attention to detail and the animals. It is really catered for a unique, relaxing and enjoyable stay. We were sad to leave.
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional - Location and view, seeing the farm animals, Hot tub, spottless facility, friendly. The welcome hamper was a wonderful surpise with fresh eggs. It also had a on site small shop with soaps, lip balms. Bacon sausages, lamb, burgers and pork etc I like everything about it
- Sian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gayle (10/5): Would stay again in a heartbeat ā¤ļø - Itās an old horse box, so we were the talk of the wedding, everyone knew we were the ones staying in the old horse box! Everything you would need was provided, the eggs and snacks were a welcome extra. Bed was so comfortable. Very clean and the hot tub was lovely! Everything clearly sign posted as well, which was really helpful! Views were stunning! Nothing!
- Katrin (10/5): The perfect couple getaway - Everything was perfect! From the cleanliness, to the friendly hosts and the amazing surrounding gardens and animals. The Shire was very cosy and had all the facilities we needed for our stay! There were kitchen utensils, hairdryer, tea and coffee. We loved the welcome basket which included fresh eggs from their farm. There wasnāt anything we didnāt like!
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely place, friendly staff and loved the animals
- Danny (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sian (10/5): Beautiful setting to relax and unwind. - Beautiful setting. Relaxing and calm environment.
We loved seeing all of the animals on the farm.
The hot tub was a great way to relax after a busy day paddle boarding on local lakes. Nothing.
- Daniela (10/5): Perfect for a long weekend, great location and views. - Everything! The conversion of the horse lorry was amazing, and the location was quiet and tranquil.
The hot tub was great!
We'll definitely be going back for another stay. There was nothing that we didn't like.
- Brian (10/5): Enjoyed it - Quirky but great N/a
- Nasir (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful place. Loved everything. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Nothing.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was brilliant
- Edward (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional, highly recommended! - Absolutely stunning place, very relaxing atmosphere! Love the horse box and the hot tub.
Thank you, we had a wonderful weekend! None
- Lindsay (8/5): Truly perfect, meeting expectations in almost every way xxxxx - Absolutely loved our 1 night stay in the converted horse lorry, it's so modern, very clean and beautifully designed, a lot of attention to detail. The bed was soooooooo comfortable, best sleep ever.
We were greeted with a lovely birthday hamper and decor that I paid a little extra for (Ā£25) which was everything I asked for and more than reasonable for the amount of chocolate and 4 cans of guiness we had and the personal touches with balloons and banners! My partner loved it all :-)
We had 6 fresh eggs waiting for us from the farms' chickens which was such a nice touch, so unexpected and was greatly appreciated! We had them for breakfast and they were delicious.
There's a little shed with jams, chutneys, sauces, eggs, we loved the fact you could get fresh produce!! Said there was meat but we didn't see any, unsure how to come about that whether it was stored somewhere else or we needed to ask, so missed out on that unfortunately, but the eggs were fabulous.
The views of the fields were breathtaking. The little area they have with all their animals was brilliant, especially great for kids!! There's signage and a bit of information on all the animals which was so sweet.. The baby goats, horses and the pigs were our favourites!
The hot tub is in an enclosed space and is just gorgeous at night, the fences are all lit up, very clean too. Our only criticism is that if you judge by the photos provided it looks idillic and quite private, which in some ways it is, but others it is not.. Some photos were a little misleading for me when booking, because you can't see that the lorry overlooks the farm yard.
It was lovely weather and quite warm so we opened the doors and personally felt that if you sit on the sofa or walk up or down the steps to the lorry, you are literally in full view of any other guest who pops down to visit the animals.. So if you're walking in a towel back inside from the hot tub, or if relaxing in your pj's watching some TV with the curtains open admiring the view, be prepared to feel slightly exposed.
We clicked once we got there that the lorry is adjacent to the farm yard. It was a real "duh!" moment for me haha.
The animals obviously need feeding and it is a working farm, so naturally someone's going to be checking in at least twice a day to feed them. Someone would pass through the gate to the big shed and and tend to the animals, and they'd pass the lorry and if you wanted to look over the fence, you easily could. Not that they did!! In fairness the farmer kept to himself and cracked on with the task in hand. So this for us was simply again a privacy thing. I just didn't think about that when I booked, but once you're there and see it all in person you realise.
I'd like to highlight that these above were my only criticisms, I'm just a shy person and I like to be out of the way, I didnt realise that we would be in such an open space (in its small ways) otherwise it was honestly, absolutely perfect xx
- Michele (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sian (10/5): Exceptional - We loved our stay. The horse lorry was converted beautifully. The setting was amazing. After our stay we felt completely re-charged. We have booked to come back later on in the year. Nothing.
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicola (10/5): This was a lovely place to stay and I would highly recommend it - The keys were left inside the property itself and I was given clear instructions on how to access the property. I did not meet the hosts, however written instructions were clear.
The accommodation had been renovated to a high standard and the BBQ and hot tub were an added bonus. This was an excellent stay and in hindsight I would have booked for two nights not one. Not applicable.
- Sahana (10/5): We had a lovely mini break in the Shire and could not have asked for anything more. The complimentary eggs from the farm - Hot tub
Window overlooking farm animals
Super comfy bed Nothing!
- Lee (10/5): The horse box is absolutely stunning equipped with everything you need beautifully decorated with lots of quirky touches - Felt so welcome by the family and was left to our own the whole time everything you could possibly need is there for you Absolutely nothing it was perfect
- Leigh (10/5): Stunning, beautiful, amazing and fun little place to stay! - Everything about this place is amazing, every last little detail is perfect!! Such an amazing little accommodation with a great little private area with a hot tub to relax in. The hampers made by the hosts for out tea and breakfast were exceptional. Honestly one of the best places I have stayed and I will be returning!
- Francesca (10/5): Exceptional - Waking up to the breath taking view was the highlight for us, the converted truck is so gorgeous and very well equipped. Everything worked fine. The owners were very welcoming and lovely people. There were loads of amazing handcrafted details both around the lorry as well as in the gardens, it was very well thought out and it all came together so well.
- Alison (10/5): Peace & tranquility - I don't know where to start! The accomodation was spotlessly clean and lovely and new looking. The bed was a king size and it was very comfortable and access to it was easy.
The views across the fields were fabulous and it was relaxing to watch the sheep, horses and donkeys happily grazing in the sunshine.
The outdoor sitting area was spacious and private with a hot tub and barbeque.
Can't wait to return here to this idyllic place. I wouldn't want to meet a vehicle on the road as I am not good at reversing!
- Anonymous (10/5): lovely impromptu getaway and will return - the tranquility and views, but it did help that the weather was superb and we could use the outdoor space. Inside was nicely laid out and all the basics and more were provided. the hand basin in the shower room was extremely small, suited the space available, but you needed a face cloth to wash your face.
- Anonymous (10/5): Beautiful setting and lovely accommodation, hot tub is fab! - Beautifully presented in a quiet location with a private courtyard.. lots of thoughtful touches such as some welcome goodies and a useful information guide to the area. The property is on a working farm but every care and consideration was taken by people working. We will be back again.
