Guest Reviews
- Christine (10/5): - Superb location accommodation very clean thanks
- Christine (10/5): -
- Julie (10/5): -
- Michael (10/5): Excellent host. Safe, secure and peaceful and lovely local pub - So very clean and peaceful N/a
- Laura (10/5): -
- Peter (10/5): Without doubt the best accommodation I have ever encountered in a short stay in the UK. - Exceptional cleanliness. Exceptional facilities. Exceptional host.
- juliet (10/5): We loved the quiet location and the high quality of finish throughout. - Great location. Very helpful owners who popped over the say hello. There is a great pub just around the corner and canal walks just 200 metres from the front door.
- Sally (9/5): Top quality stay, ideal for a relaxing break but bring your vehicle! - Sally the host was lovely and went out of her way to help. The accommodation was beautifully furnished. Very comfy bed, strong shower. The kitchen has everything you needed by way of utensils and crockery. Fab wine glasses and a bottle of wine as a welcome gift which was lovely. Beautiful location. Canal walking, nice local pub only a 10min walk and two others to choose from if you fancy a longer walk.
With two very separate bedrooms (one upstairs, one down), both with an ensuite, this place is ideal for two couples. There is plenty of space.
Although limited opening hours, there is a farm shop very closeby, mainly selling their own meat, free range eggs and homemade jams. No cafetiere coffee!!
We were on foot which was quite limiting. I'd definitely recommend having a vehicle with you. We stayed three nights which was just long enough to want more produce but not worth buying it because we couldn't eat it all or transport it home. That was an us problem though!! As was the fact there were only two of us because it would have been more cost effective with four adults.
- Alan (10/5): Perfect. - We loved everything about the property. Stylish but comfy interiors. Well stocked cupboards. Clean and well maintained.
Fabulous views. Close to our family and friends and a train journey to the Hawthorns.
Sally and Simon were friendly and welcoming. We have an electric car. The UK doesn't really have great infrastructure for that yet but we found somewhere in our old town.
- Graham (10/5): Beautifully Appointed Cottage - perfect for relaxing short break - The cottage was beautifully furnished and immaculately clean - probably the best presented property we have stayed at over the years. No shortage of bathroom facilities and an well appointed, well equipped kitchen, Very rural location, with beautiful views across the fields toward the village which has an excellent historic pub and access to long canal walks. Good base for touring round Warwickshire and North Cotswolds. Sally was an incredibly thoughtful, considerate and friendly host throughout our stay. There is nothing to dislike
- RubeyVikas (10/5): Felt like a home away from home. - The hosts were very welcoming. The property felt like a second home. It was comfortable and beautiful. Nothing I can think of at present.
- Brosnan (10/5): -
- Charlotte (10/5): Fantastic stay at beautiful, well equipped cottages - Excellent stay at Sallys lovely property. The holiday cottages were clean and well presented, with everything you could need. Beautiful view and open plan interior in the milk parlour, stunning. Good pub within walking distance

- Dean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ts (10/5): The Calf Shed - We loved verything about our stay!! A perfect getaway in a fabulously appointed, beautifully decorated cottage.
- Geoffrey (9/5): Really enjoyed our stay - The calf shed is lovely The settee, we didn’t find it very comfy and a bit low for older people also the television did buff a few times.
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional - High standard of house and everything in it; very clean and enjoyable to be in.
- Fiona (10/5): Beautiful, spacious, clean accommodation in a perfect location. views lovely, our hosts exceptional. - This property is beautifully furnished with spacious living area and kitchen overlooking fields in rural Warwickshire.
There is a patio to relax and enjoy the view, often a deer in the field. Our Host,Sally provided some goodies to greet us after a long flight, and very helpful. Beds very comfy , rooms with great on suite showers. We were here for a family occasion and able to walk to the local pub to meet other family members. The Stratford Canal is at the bottom of the hill, great for walking and exploring the countryside. Will recommend this gem to anyone wanting a country retreat a short drive to Warwick , Warwick Castle, Stratford on Avon, and National Trust Houses. Liked everything
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional accommodation in beautiful countryside setting, everything we could want and more! - this property is perfect for a country retreat in a beautiful village , walking distance to pub and beautiful views.
accommodation exceptional. Clean, comfy, with everything you could want. our Host Sally couldn't have been more helpful. She also provided bread, milk, and some tasty treats to greet us. A perfect start to our honeymoon.

Plenty of places to visit in the area
- Joerg (10/5): My family and I loved the property. - The accommodation had been newly renovated. And everything was clean and well maintained. Our hosts were really friendly and nice. The house was situated in a very quiet area. We would love to book here again.

- Andrew (10/5): Exceeded our expectations. - wonderfully rural location, excellent facilities and Sally was a great host. Nothing
- Valerie (10/5): A wonderful stay in a beautiful cottage. - We thoroughly enjoyed our short break in The Calf Shed. It is one of the nicest cottages we’ve stayed in and was cosy and comfortable with everything we needed for a really relaxing break. It was spotlessly clean and everything was new and of a high standard. We just loved the colour scheme too!
The location is perfect for visiting Stratford on Avon, Warwick, Hatton Locks and Kenilworth Castle, and is within easy reach of several fantastic National Trust properties. It is a short walk to the Stratford canal and we walked along the tow path to the Fleur de Lis pub where we also saw the quaint lock keepers cottage from years gone by.
Sally and Simon were really friendly and welcoming, and the wine, milk, biscuits, bread and butter were much appreciated.
- Maureen (10/5): Would definitely book again for next year. - Great accommodation, great location for us, immaculate.
