Guest Reviews

- Marthe (10/5): Great apartement with an even greater host! -
- Arndt (10/5): Exceptional - It was spacious appartment with lots of Art and Photograph books lying around and a lovely terrace in the backyard. Francesca was more than helpful to us from the very start, providing us with all kinds of information.
Because of a late flight we were able to use a storage room for our luggage . By choosing her appartment we fell in love with Kalsa.
- Riccardo (4/5): Disappointing -
- Alyssa (10/5): Exceptional - Even more beautiful than the pictures, the hosts have great taste - there are beautiful art books to look at and the garden on the terrace is delightful.
- Joni (10/5): We had a marvelous stay here: the apartment was spacious and beautifully decorated. The location was very close to every -
- Dimitar (9/5): Superb - This is not a generic IKEA-furnished appartment - somebody used to live there, and it tells, from the numerous objects of art to all the plants on the terrace. It is an old building, so prepare for the 4m ceilings, an interior terrace with a lot of plants, and an external one with a view of a small street. This is an interior you can comfortably spend a lot of time in. It is very close to the seaside and Villa Gulia, which is probably the nicest green space of the few available in Palermo, and also easily within walking distance to the centre. The host is also very responsive. As an old building, there are a few stairs to climb - nothing much, but something or consider if you ar with a small kid. Again, because of the limitations of the building, the living room is somewhat devoid of natural light. The worst thing was the single set of keys, which are needed to operate the electricity - I understand why it is done, and many Airbnbs in Palermo are doing it, but one night when I was late and my wife had fallen asleep I was forced to go to a hotel - hardly a stimulating experience.
- Brendan (10/5): Boho vibe on the edge of Palermo’s old - Such a beautiful apartment huge ceilings filled with interesting art and books feels like a home not one of those soulless Ikea kitted rentals that are sadly all too common now.
The terrace is a a little oasis with some impressive plants perfect for breakfast or a drink in the evening.
The kitchen has all that you need lovely marble counter tops pots and pans etc.
We loved the style of the apartment a lot of love and care has gone into it certainly one of the more characterful and stylish places we have stayed in Sicily.
Special mention for the owner she was so helpful and gave some really great recommendations for restaurants and sight seeing. It makes a real difference I think almost feels like your staying in a friends place.
We also loved that in the apartment there are guides for many of the major sites (in multiple languages). Beds super comfy and shout out for the friendly old man across the road that likes to say hello 😀
The area is good 5 mins walk to Piazza marina where there is a really excellent supermarket and a few nice restaurants. The botanic gardens are also 5 mins away and if you’re into that sort of thing they are must see, plants that would be in a hot house in Kew growing out in the open quite amazing.
So thumbs up from us, I only hope it’s free next time we swing by. Nada it was perfect.
