Guest Reviews
- Michael (7/5): Ok - Quiet; fireplace Parking
- david (10/5): - The loved the room . The surrounding garden was beautiful. Great little kitchen. N outside sitting area. The tv would go off at times to times. Internet wasn't the best
- Vicki (9/5): -
- simon (9/5): - Shabby Chic little retreat with amazing ambiance and bird noises to delight. roomy, well equipped and little touches such as milk and toiletries always welcome. Location is perfect being so close to town, just 300m walk to main street, Brouhaha or Obi Obi Creek Boardwalk and so full of charm. Private garden and generous verandah to sit outside in all weather. Few too many ornaments and fake plants felt slightly unnecessary. Couldn't cast to TV for footy.
- Lily (10/5): - The location was lovely, super convenient and welcoming.
- Georgia (10/5): Relaxing, comfortable and sweet. Highly recommend - It was very cute and cosy and great location
- michelle (10/5): Wonderful stay in great little cottage in a delightful town - True to its name the cottage was Quirky and fun.
Lovely location walking distance to town - the return was up a steep hill but well worth the walk.
Great outside porch and seating area.
Comfortable bed and bathroom and a kitchen with everything you need to self cater.
Lovely host and a gorgeous town- if you want an amazing coffee - find concept coffee - hidden in the back of the shops near the roundabout Nothing
- Koedood (10/5): We would have loved to stay here forever such a tranquil amazing spot to relax - Excellent location, beautiful surroundings lovely host There was nothing to dislike if you love mother nature the sounds of amazing birds peace and quiet you found the right place to stay
- Timbawamba (9/5): Beautiful oasis for your Maleny stay - Loved the quirky touches with the decorations and the general vibe of this very welcoming oasis. Met the lovely host Alison who was very helpful with information, local tips and also has a real passion for hosting. Cottage is super close to all amenities of Maleny and lots of nice walks. Oh and the local Brewery which is great. I see some people have said how hilly it was on way back from town, but honestly, we are in our early 60s and it was not trouble at all. Bed a bit soft for our liking, but that's always a matter of personal taste. Chairs a bit hard too after you've been sitting in them for a while.
- charles (10/5): Excellent stay for 6 days, very relaxing would highly recommend the property., - location was excellent, cottage had great facilities, and a nice wood burning heater.
Alison was an excellent host, very helpful and informative.
Would highly recommend the cottage, whether it be overnight or longer stay as we did. No problems at all.
Great stay.
- Sarah (10/5): Loved our stay there. It’s delightful 🌸 -

- Alison (10/5): My partner and i enjoyed our first anniversary in the Quirky cottage, bed was comfortable and lots firewood and warm, ho - The cottage was in great location and had everything u needed to be comfortable away from home
- Matthew (8/5): Very good -
- Anne (8/5): Very good - Cute and cosy and charmingly quirky. Very well appointed with comfortable touches. Helpful and attentive host. Easy walk to town if physically able but hilly for less able. Steep driveway. Access to the cottage a bit tricky with luggage and very dark at night.
- Kym (4/5): Quirky! Yes indeed, it was a peculiar and unexpected stay! - The close proximity to town was good and 'you can walk everywhere' (as stated in the description), but boy the walk is a bit of a challenge, especially back up that steep hill and some people would really struggle with the walk. There was a mix up by the host who gave us instructions to the wrong cabin, then at 7pm we were met with a family arriving who had booked that same cabin with the same instructions as us. We were so embarrassed and humiliated, along with the packing up of all our stuff (we had booked in just after lunch and were very settled for the night) and moving with very little lighting to the back cottage, which we were told we should have realised was the correct one for us (don't worry about all the instructions and the code was for the other cottage!) was not great. Apologies were given, and an offer to stay Sunday night, but as it was mother's day we had family commitments and I would have thought the offer of another Saturday night at another time would have been a fairer deal. I'm not sure anyway that anyone would have taken up the offer as most have work commitments on Mondays. The couple in the other cabin had 2 small children and we could clearly hear the family talking and the children playing, not to sound like a grump, but when we go away we are looking for peace and quite, so some sound proofing in the cottages would be a good idea. The cottages both are in need of updating.
Parking is particularly tight in the carport especially if you have a 4x4. The driveway is very steep and has a drop off on both sides, making exiting difficult.
- Jenny (9/5): Very peaceful & relaxing - It was a peaceful location & the cottage was comfortable & had a lot of character & charm
- Charmaine (10/5): Love the quirky cottage. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Super comfortable and peaceful. Everything you need and the host A - Super quaint and like the name says ‘quirky’ cottage. So peaceful listening to the birds of a morning. The most comfortable bed! Had everything for a peaceful trip away. Probably the only challenge was the walk to the Main Street if you need groceries. The cottage is walking distance to shops, cafes and restaurants but is a very steep hill, if you shop for groceries I suggest you drive.
- Angela (8/5): Very good - Clean, quiet and lovely touches around the cottage. We were allowed to bring our two old dogs with us which was wonderful. Friendly and quick response with messages. Really relaxing. We were in and out for family reasons but could easily have stayed longer. Would recommend. Easy walk to cafes etc.
- Sandy (8/5): Very good -
- Robyn (9/5): Great experience and a total break. - Walk to anywhere in main street of Maleny. Excellent food/restaurants in Maleny which were very reasonable prices.
Great access to waterfalls, forrest and other nature walks. A few hills, but practice made it easier.
- Maree (10/5): quirky and wonderful. the most comfortable bed ever!!! -
- Madonna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stanley (9/5): Most hospitable hosts and comfortable cottage made for the perfect getaway. - The location was in a very quiet leafy area which was perfect for our getaway.
- Reneê (10/5): Lovely quirky comfortable cottage - The bed was very comfy, and the cottage was delightful.
I loved the knitting and the quirkiness of the cottage.
Having my dog able to stay was a big bonus.
Loved the bed canopy, too, and felt cocooned. Didn't like the hills to and from town ☺️
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Lynne (8/5): Very good -
- Beverly (10/5): Exceptional - I loved my stay in Melany. Everything I needed. It was wonderful and I certainly recommend the quirky cottage to everyone. Nothing I didn't like
- Barry (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (10/5): Awesome weekend away. Recommend - Nice quirky cottage, exactly what we wanted. Great fire place and facilities, nice and close to town, walked to bars and restaurants.
- Dye (9/5): Superb - Pretty much all fine. Very clean and comfortable. A touch too cluttered for us. Had to move knick-knacks occasionally such as to sit on verandah, but not a big problem.
- Ken (9/5): Great little place to know about - Very cosy cottage in a great location, and full of character Slippery wood steps outside
- Brendan (10/5): A case of accidental happiness, a gem of a find! - As the name states, we loved the quirkiness of the cottage and the homely feel My only comment would be to have had a dryer - but that was because we had been on the road for an few weeks and needed to wash - would have used the clothes line but was raining
- Clarence (7/5): Good - We look for accommodation to walk everywhere but with the steep entry and very hilly streets at our age that was impossible
- Colin (1/5): Refused to stay - Refused to enter the property. Very poorly presented. Down a narrow walk way with a loose paver at the start.
Would be very difficult for the elderly. I'm 85 & my wife is 76.
Cobwebs & junk everywhere on a very difficult decent driveway.
We walked out as unsuitable and not as portrayed in the advert.
Colin Galley NIL.
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional - The location to the township and the cosiness of the cottage. It was very clean.
- Deborah (8/5): Generally a sweet & charming cottage in a lovely peaceful setting. - We liked the charm and tranquillity. Kitchen cupboard doors need maintenance.
A bit dusty. Lounge cover needs a vaccuum or wash.
Birds landing & walking on roof each night & morning
- Jennifer (7/5): Good - The property was certainly quirky It was not walking distance to town and it was quite musty
