- Krystyna (4/5): The area is lovely, the parking space was great. The cottage could do with a good clean. Would not recommend it - The kitchen was lovely, everything you would need The house was very cluttered with miss matched ornaments some of which were broken. The sofa in the lounge had barely any stuffing in the seat cushions.
There were moths on the bedding and towels in the two double rooms and in the lounge.
It felt overall that the house had not been cleaned properly in a long time.
The single bedroom door was so difficult to open that we did not close it properly as we felt it was a hazard.
The microwave and coffee machine were situated in the utility room which also housed the toilet so very unhygienic.
- Jan (9/5): Surprisingly spacious house in Frome with parking. - Surprisingly spacious house with a pleasant courtyard garden. The kitchen is well-equipped and we found everything we needed. Lots of little touches, like spare wellies and umbrellas, made it feel like a proper home rather than a holiday rental. Location was perfect with the restaurants and shops of Frome on the doorstep. Thoroughly recommend the bakery in the church opposite the house. The parking space was very useful, though our party had two cars and parking the other nearby was not a problem The third bedroom (twin) was quite small. It would be fine for children but my grown-up daughter and her 6ft 5in partner struggled a little. Fine for two nights though, and the other beds were super comfy.
- Stewart (10/5): - Location, location, location.
The Griffin up the road, the bakery opposite, etc etc...

- Laws (8/5): Lovely cottage in a great location. - Great location, central to most attractions in all directions! Great parking on driveway. Shops and pubs walkable. Lovely decor and furnishings, excellent selection of books in lounge! Could have been cleaner, (dust, webs)
- Pretty (10/5): So quirky, cosy and well equipped! - The property is so unique and cosy! Lots to do in the local area and plenty nearby!
We stumbled across the lighting of the valentines lamp! Nothing! We loved it!
- Lesley (10/5): Perfect location for a visit to Frome - Perfect location for visiting Frome. Parking on site was very useful
- Lucy (9/5): -
- Cathy (10/5): Ideal for family short stay and visit to Longleat. - Very comfortable, well-equipped house with plenty of space.
Books and games appreciated.
- Mark (8/5): Overall lovely stay. Great host. Perfect location. Just be careful on narrow stairs with children. -
- Harriet (8/5): Great old house in a great spot - Lovely house in a great spot in Frome. We loved the style of the house and period features. We were very comfortable and it was well equipped. Nothing really. Sink tap in bathroom loose.
- Roxanne (8/5): Perfect location! Great host and recommendations! Would stay again! - We loved how quaint the cottage was, and the middle floor double room size! Infact there wasn’t much we didn’t love! The kids enjoyed the family games and we loved the neighborhood pubs! Nothing!
- Jennifer (9/5): Lovely relaxing weekend - What a beautiful cottage in a perfect location for visiting Frome. Off street parking really helpful. Lovely vintage furniture completed the atmosphere.
- Jude (9/5): We had a great time. Loved the log fire and well equipped kitchen. - Very quaint and quirky. Ideal location Lounge sofa could do with updating.. not very comfortable.
Bathroom door didn't stay shut even with a bolt
Radiator in top bedroom not working
- Matthew (10/5): Lovely character cottage right in the centre, with parking. Lovely. - Character, location, cleanliness, facilities eveythung was thought through and a very lovely cottage. It was full of character. Location was perfect, right in the centre. Communications excellent. Great suggestions for food. Nothing, we will stay again! Everything was as we wanted.
- Rebecca (9/5): Charming stay in central frome. - Perfect location. Charming character. Lovely king size bed and big bathroom. Bring your own tea and coffee! That’s more my need for organisation.
- Ella (9/5): The perfect autumnal weekend break with girlfriends - The location was fantastic and the house was very comfortable. We loved the cosy bedrooms and the warm fire. There were so many good books and board games too! The house was a bit damp and spidery and a few dishes and other items in the kitchen could have done with a clean. But those were minor points of detail.
- Annemiek (9/5): Heerlijk verblijf in binnenstad van Frome. Een geweldige bakkerij aan de overkant en fijne restaurants in de directe omg - Locatie en inrichting van de cottage Geen opmerkingen
- Robert (9/5): -
- John (7/5): Great convenient location in the hub of the town - The quirky charm of it. Very spacious. Fab location. Lovely host Property wasn’t very clean. We had to wash up anything we used in the kitchen before we used it.

- John (9/5): Very enjoyable and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. - Quirky, very well maintained period cottage with modern kitchen, spread over three floors which the grandchildren found fascinating. Parking facility was invaluable as the cottage is in the heart of the old part of the town's narrow streets where parking spaces seemed to be at a premium. Very steep stairs which is only to be expected in a property of this age. Care needed.
- Kerry (6/5): Lovely little stay but a bit rough around the edges for the money. - Lovely family home. Needs a little TLC in places for the cost.
- Emma (9/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Really wonderful stay in a beautiful cottage in a truly lovely little town. - Utterly beautiful cottage with every convenience in the heart of Frome opposite the best bakery in a Baptist Chapel.
- GEERT (9/5): -
- Ben (10/5): Perfect cottage in this pretty town - Perfect cottage for a stay in this pretty town. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay, surprisingly big inside and well equipped. Parking was handy too.
- Wes (9/5): A perfect location, and well presented cottage. - This cottage was quite superb in both location and presentation. Wonderfully clean and modern, with everything you would need to enjoy a vacation.
The beds were really comfortable, and all rooms tastefully decorated. The lounge has a comfortable sofa with a large screen tv to watch.
In the kitchen, it was well stocked with everything needed, from a cork screw to a coffee machine !
A large and airy bathroom on the 1st floor, with plenty of hot water.
Outside was a lovely patio area to have our morning coffee. Maybe the shower in the bath was a bit of a challenge for us 60 somethings... there's plenty of space to have a separate shower cubicle.
- Lorraine (8/5): Very good - Location excellent Stairs steep. Tap in the main bathroom took ages to run the water.
- Graeme (9/5): Visiting with my family for a weekend we had a lovely time - Well equipped charming cottage in the central of town, comfy beds and cute courtyard garden
- Paula (7/5): A quirky place in a good area to visit shops and eat out. - The tap in the bathroom was very wobbly! The chairs were uncomfortable.
- Jayne (7/5): Quaint cottage in Frome - Very old cottage in the heart of Frome, perfectly located. Very quaint and large. 3rd bedroom is very small, though, with low beams going across the bed. Hit my head a few times! 3 stories high, not for those with difficulties mobilising. The main areas are clean although not well kept; dirty windows and the courtyard garden needs cleaning. However, the bedding and towels are clean. Beds not comfortable. There is no hand soap in bathrooms. Property tired looking. Don't expect milk, cookies, a bottle of fizz or flowers! This is a generally nice touch in most places I have stayed. Parking spot out the front is very difficult to manoeuvre with a large car.
Was lovely sitting in the courtyard garden, in the sun. Had everything we needed in the kitchen, except wine glasses.
It was fine for the 2 nights we stayed, but I wouldn't rush back.
There are lovely shops in Frome and good places to eat. The converted church opposite was amazing for food and atmosphere
Wasn't a cheap place to stay so could have been better
- Tricia (10/5): Beautiful quaint, spacious, warm, comfy, fully equipped cottage. Central to everything. Perfect! - Everything!!! Sorry, one tiny nit-picking gripe was that several drinking mugs were chipped on the rims.
- Philip (8/5): Loved it - Perched above the centre of Frome, Sun Cottage is perfectly positioned for a visit to this lovely town- having a parking spot is a real bonus too!
- Wendy (7/5): Central location with parking packed with quirky ornaments and furniture. - Spacious and very central to the town The wrong postcode meant a detour along narrow streets which added to the journey. Although washing machines listed in the amenities apparently not for guest usage. Found the cottage charming but quite cluttered and the sofa really uncomfortable! Parking space awkward if you have a big car.
- Clare (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (6/5): Pleasant -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - The spacious airy house right on the edge of town. The log burner
- Suan (9/5): Wonderful charming cottage - Indeed was really charming, lovely detail and thought behind all rooms. Location was excellent very central and breakfast in the church opposite was excellent. Would recommend the only thing to note is stairs could be difficult for elderly or young children! Central cosy charming
- Judith (9/5): Superb -
- Elizabeth (9/5): Superb -
- Shaun (9/5): Lovely characterful (quirky cottage) - No Christmas decorations, would be nice addition over the festive season
- Adelaide (10/5): Overall, comfortable and amazing. - The property was spacious, everything in its proper place. Off road parking was a bonus as the area was quite packed but amazingly quiet. By the way I forgot to put the little blue crystal cup back upstairs, left it on the dining table.
Loved the location, nearness to amenities was very refreshing. The cafe across was fantastic. My kids just loved it. The alleyway to the shopping centre, cool.
Overall an amazing stay. I don’t have any issues with the property.
- Chloe (8/5): Very easy booking and comfortable stay - Great location and very comfortable beds The kitchen and bathroom were a little tired but overall the house was charming as stated!
- Swathy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathryn (8/5): Big group gathering - house was perfect for visiting relatives and friends to walk to from where they were, restaurants - Centrally located, well equipped, comfortable and stylish. Frome centre has very narrow streets for family sized cars! This is right in centre - plus is parking but nerve wracking driving locally…
- Steven (9/5): The cottage was perfect for us, and Frome is a lovely town to wander around - Greta location close to town centre, very comfortable beds, good facilities and equipment, characterful old cottage, dedicated parking space in area with limited street parking Nothing significant. NB light bulb out in dining room
- Tantram (9/5): Superb - Postcode sent was wrong, it took us to a completely different part of town, added to the journey.
But we had an interesting tour of Frome finding that out!
- Yosuke (10/5): Exceptional - Although we had a double booking problem, the owner was very sincere and eased our minds. With such a wonderful owner, we want to enjoy our trip.
- Ryan (9/5): Lovely location, charming property, great host - Very comfortable and centrally located property. Has virtually everything you need. Comfortable beds too! Would definitely stay there again. The host was also super helpful and flexible which made our stay even better. Wifi doesn't quite make it to the top floor, so hard to do work up there and to set up baby monitors. Would also be good to include instructions on use of the fireplace.
- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Yulia (10/5): Wonderful stay in Frome - Beautiful cottage, very comfortable and lots of nice touches. The bakery next to the cottage is a delight. Close to the shops and restaurants. Off-road parking is very handy. Couldn’t have wished for a better accommodation for our family holiday. Nothing
- Virginia (8/5): Very good - The cottage was beautiful very old and quaint with lovely old furniture and antiques. Well equiped and comfortable. A fantastic location closes to town so easy walk to shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. Steep, narrow and twisty stairs difficult to negotiate, not made clear on website
