- Hailey (10/5): -
- Rachel (10/5): Perfect stay - Fabulous apartment, location perfect, as my husband was speaking at a conference at convention centre. A 5 minute walk! Southbank a lovely area, handy to Citycat restaurants pubs galleries & museums.
- Julie (8/5): Place was great but instructions to get in came in far too late - It was so bad and I ended up my bag stolen! Information too late. Should of been much earlier and it would have been so much easier
- martin (9/5): Perfect stay in a lovely apartment. - Nice central area, close to South Bank. Everything in the unit was spotlessly clean & comfortable. Lot’s of room for storage. Quite a large balcony.
Beautiful roof top quiet pool. Everything was perfect, apart from the pick up and return of the key. Even though it was clearly explained in an email, it was just awkward, to pick up the key from a key lock box on a railing a couple of streets away.
- Raymond (10/5): Good location, easy parking with allocated space. Plenty of food options near by. - Good location, easy walking distance to Melbourne street eateries and Southbank. Easy access to metro rail.adequate space for couple - balcony was nice to sit and have coffee. Cafe for breakfast right at front door. Air conditioning control was difficult to set, reported to owner. Otherwise no issues.
- Marie-louise (8/5): except for the key collection, it was good - The apartment was very comfortable and well provisioned. Great location for the Convention centre The collection and return of the key from a lock box on a gate next to a derelict building was not a very good experience and not something I expected from accommodation booked through booking.com

- Brian (4/5): Hugely disappointing - The location and a nice cafe downstairs The key collection is a joke.
The lock box is located a 7 minute walk from the property. It’s locked to a fence at ground level on a street where you can’t park nearby. So imagine arriving after dark and crawling around on your hands and knees in the dark on the pavement trying to retrieve your key and you get the idea.
Speaking of keys…we booked for 2 adults and as such expected 2 sets of keys so we could move around independently. I don’t think that this is unreasonable and has always been the case with other apartments that I have used in Brisbane.
Initially we were told that only one set was available, after a protracted “discussion” during which is was suggested that we use the lockbox to share one set of keys (see above comments about the lockbox) the management eventually deigned to give us 2 sets of keys for an additional $300 deposit.
As for the actual apartment…
Common areas hallways etc are dark, dirty and smelly.
There are a few problems inside the apartment, damage to walls in main bedroom
Vanity light in bathroom doesn’t work and the switch makes electrical noises when you try to use it (we stopped using it)
Terrestrial TV not available on the TV
TV stopped working after 5 days so it didn’t matter.
In fairness the management offered to fix these things but we told them to wait until we had left rather than have our trip disrupted by waiting in for Tradies.
The apartment itself is the most poorly equipped that I have ever stayed in.
To give context.
We were 2 guest and stayed for 10 days.
1 x towel per guest plus one face towel to share.
No change on bed linen
No bottle opener
No corkscrew
No large salad bowl
No niceties whatsoever.
Bed is super soft and uncomfortable.
No furniture on the balcony.
Also the bedroom is adjacent to the Main Street (Cordelia St) and as such is subject to noise of large trucks from very early in the morning.

- Rowena (5/5): - Great affordable apartment near conference centre No reception and key was in lockbox quite a walk from apartment and I had broken foot in cast and it was raining torrentially and key lock is low on ground and hard to find so got very wet and my cast on keg was saturated
- Christine (7/5): Apartment sited out needs for location and size - Location was excellent near transport routes and easy walk to locations we needed to go. Rooftop pool was a bonus as the weather was good. Pool was clean and public areas were tidy Only one key and entry fob provided for two people. This is really inconvenient. The apartment is showing some areas of tiredness. Things need a deep clean to reduce odours (apartments managers notified). There was insufficient bedding available to suit changes in the weather.
- David (5/5): Not as advertised, difficult check-in but location was good. - Location Advertised as a hotel type accommodation when it was AirBnB type. Poorly equiped. No desk as advertised. Key pick-up was difficult. No water. Furniture was broken. Bed was terrible. No linen or towel change in 8 days.
- Carolyn (8/5): Comfortable stay. - Spacious and comfortable Could do with a bowl. Had to out the salad in a saucepan. It worked.
- Michelle (10/5): -
- Mccubbin (8/5): - Excellent location and comfortable room with washing machine and dryer
- Jaffa (10/5): - 空間很大,生活機能完備。距離會議中心很近 需要再轉一筆押金,才能入住
- Marjani (10/5): -
- Joann (8/5): - Beautiful apartment
- Collier (4/5): Scuffed walls, cheap kitchen utensils Unvacuumed floor, hair easily visible in drains. Fingerprints - The lock box is not clearly marked.
- Tony (8/5): - na na
- Jennifer (8/5): Apartment good, but need to fix key pick up - It is very convenient to the convention centre and cafes in West End. The apartment was large, clean and comfortable. The apartment faced on to the road side, so there traffic noise from about 5.30am. Collecting and returning the keys is a major hassle, as it is not at the property but 400m away, and no convenient parking, in a lock box on the bottom of a fence in a dimly lit area - definitely not ideal.
- Jacqueline (8/5): Very good -
- Shanie (8/5): Very good -
- Geraldine (7/5): Good - Cleanliness and location Only 1 key. Hardly any cooking equipment just empty cupboards, no chairs or table or anything on the balcony, broken clothes airrr.
- Harrison (8/5): Overall it was a lovely trip and we enjoyed our time there. - The location, facilities and room were great! Arranging the key pick up was really stressful. We drove around the block a few times trying to figure out the instructions and how to get into the lockbox. I would say the instructions could be worded a lot better to be more helpful.
- Fara (9/5): Superb -
- Patrick (9/5): Superb - The main issue was collecting keys. It would be much better if keys were available at the venue.
- Lorraine (4/5): Would not stay again - Location Terrible checking in - they had not sent me details prior to- had incorrect information on website - then called help line. Had to pay another deposit to be held on property- then had to fine a lockbox which was down a dark alleyway & by an abandoned building and extremely hard to find wasted a few hours and extremely frustrating
- Yunjoung (10/5): My brisbane visit was amazing because of accomodation. - Perfect location. Very clean and tidy. Rooftop pool’s amazing day & night!!!!!! Nil
- Alison (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (7/5): Not too bad - The room was very modern and clean and had everything you needed for your stay. Check-in process was terrible. I travelled on the 1st December, had no access to work emails which is where all my information for the booking was sent. This caused dreadful problems. Not having anyone onsite to assist in sorting it out was a problem, however the lass on the phone was patient and helpful. Having to travel to another location to retrieve the key from a locked box was distressing, especially if you do not know Brisbane. Having to return keys back to the location is a problem too especially when you have taxi drivers who find the process challenging. Having to upload my personal identification again because the facility didn't get it is also a problem because of the amount of identity theft going on. I wonder now who's got my information - they only need one more piece of ID and they've got the 100 points to open up accounts in my name!!! This is a big security risk. Having rooms on a main street is also problematic. Brisbane doesn't sleep and with traffic noise from 2:30 am this is not good!!
- Mira (9/5): Superb -
- Zara (9/5): Superb - Great location, lovely place and the rooftop pool was awesome too. Nothing.
- Lillian (1/5): We couldn't stay there. - We could not get an answer on phoning the apartment manager and leaving messages because we didn't have the street number for collecting the key. We were very frustrated at not getting a response by phone that we didn't stay at the property at all. They had taken our money, unbelievably we got a phone call in response to our messages at 9.oopm that same night. We had gone to a friend to stay with her in Coorparoo. My husband is in a fight against Cancer, having ongoing treatment. He was quite distressed by not getting any phone response, very upsetting. We would very much like to get our money returned. Can you help us please. We have been using Bookings. Com for many years now and we are 76 and 77 years old. Thanking you.
- Lucia (8/5): Very good -
- Mel (9/5): Superb -
- Cameron (8/5): Great unit, great location to South Bank and West End at reasonable price but be prepared for an interesting key pick up - Great location, great unit. No staff, awkward and a little dodgy feeling key pickup.
Unexpected extra $300 draw on credit card for damage deposit, reversed but took a while.
- Sara (5/5): Passable - Location and was very clean. Check in was frustrating, bed was not very comfortable.
- Tracie (10/5): Accomodation was amazing - I wanted to stay an extra night but there was no availability - Fantastic apartment = very modern and comfortable Collecting the keys from a lockbox on a busy city road with no parking and from an abandoned buildings fence
- Lynette (8/5): Overall, our stay was comfortable. If you can organise yourself for check in/out & don’t mind doing the other bi - Location was great, close to South Bank, transport & short walk to the city. We have stayed at Opera Apartments before however always booked directly. Room was comfortable & had most everything we needed. Didn’t use the WiFi though reception is sketchy.
You are best to air out the apartment when you check in & let fresh air into the room each day. It can be a little stuffy & damp. Check in/out can be challenging as keys are located the next street over but not at the building advised in the check in process. It’s across the road. Difficult in peak hour.
The apartment faces South Bank & the road below can get quite busy & noisy during the day. It’s not too bad during the evening.
You also have to take out the rubbish when leaving the apartment & run the dishwasher. TV worked but as the WiFi reception is sketchy it can take a while to load your channel & also glitches a little.
- Chrystal (10/5): Easy access to convention centre. Really clean and comfortable. Really easy to communicate with and central to everythin - Easy access to convention centre. Really clean and comfortable
- Susan (8/5): My 2 nights were relaxing. The bed was comfortable and I enjoyed my time there. - Location The key procedure
- Annette (6/5): Ok but could have been better - Good location and clean Key situation is stupidly inconvenient. Stingy on products and toilet paper. Website info for WiFi was wrong
- Trish (9/5): Superb - I liked the location and the room was clean and comfortable.
It was good to be able to do washing while staying also. Trying to locate the key to my room was a very bad experience. Firstly I had to find a carpark in peak hour traffic. The key was in a lockbox attached to a fence in a totally different street. I was told a street number which was wrong. I asked passers by to help as I was getting very agitated and confused. Finally, with the help of a lovely man, we managed to find the lockbox. This process took over an hour. I wasn't happy about this at all.
- Allison (9/5): Superb -
- David (3/5): Won't do again - Location Key collection...10min walk to a dodgy outside location on the footpath...nowhere to park so if it was wet it would gave been even more unpleasant... where I had to stoop to ground to enter a code into a lock box to retrieve key, then return to hotel 10min walk...not impressed.
- Kathie (8/5): Very good - Clean and will located... Staff were helpful when I needed to contact them. Although the kitchen had good appliances and was cleanThe kitchen was not very well equipped with utensils. No can opener no bottle opener no dishes to cook or prepare in besides pots. Nothing to mix food in.
Very very small chopping board.
A little difficult getting the key.. Lock box was at a very low level.. Had to kneel on the bitumen to open it and access key. A bit of noise from other residents on that floor. Doors shaming and kids screaming but not late at night..
- G.jones (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kim (8/5): Really good, would like to stay again. - Good size, very clean, excellent location for Southbank Slight damp smell in the apartment, key pick up and drop off being at a different location was a bit tricky when driving
- Lyn (7/5): Great stay after a rough start - Very central , apartment was a good size and comfortable , close to everything . Couldn’t fault position . Picking up the key from the lockbox in the dark a street away in an unfamiliar city was extremely stressful and not a great start after travelling all day . You also have to drop it back again and in peak traffic it’s no easy feat. I would not recommend you stay here for this reason , there is an abundance of accomodation to choose from . No outdoor furniture on Balcony and no servicing at all in 10days
- Warren (10/5): Exceptional - Very impressed with everything. Having to hike to get keys
- Naomi (7/5): Good - Property was an excellent location for acccess to the convention centre and the train. The room was well equipped with good sized kitchen and laundry. The lock worked, but is in a dark location, quite a distance from the hotel. During the day without a large amount of luggage this would be easy. I arrived very late and this process changed my decision to catch the train. This added significant cost.
- Penny (8/5): Great spot and great pool and bbq area - Great position
Cafe downstairs was great Only having one key
The smell in the room was like wet nappies
- Letchford (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lesley (1/5): Expensive - I could not access the property and had to find other accommodation for my stay
- Sina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vella (6/5): Pleasant - Close to where we needed to be and pool area is beautiful Massive spider in our room shower had pubic hairs on the walls cleaner left there rag in kitchen and kitchen needed bit better clean. And was a lil bit confusing to find the key
- Lisa (7/5): Good - Location Location
- Troy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (8/5): painfull key access, stinky floor, too pricey - clean and location was ok. picking the room key up from different location.
was painful, and price is steep.. Not again.
walking to room on 4th floor horrible stench.
- Sharryn (7/5): Apartment is good value for money. - Convenient to Southbank, QPac and West End. Rooftop pool and bbq areas are lovely. Having to collect keys from lockbox on fence a block away and then put them back. Rain, roadworks and heavy traffic made this a very stressful option and we wouldn’t be willing to do it again.
- Faythe (8/5): Great location and very comfortable apartment to stay in in Brisbane! - Location, the rooftop pool, clever interior design of the apartment, the balcony, the mattress, the super comfy couch and the included parking. Plus the apartment block felt very safe and secure and totally soundproof. Only one towel per person and only one key to the apartment. Also, there was not enough toilet paper or handwashing liquid supplied so had to buy more. (I know, not a huge issue).
- Hollie (9/5): Superb -
- Tammy (5/5): Didn’t like the way of booking in and getting key, would not book again. - Good location, parking included. Ridiculous having to pay for a park m, walk 2 blocks to get key from a random gate on the street and walk back. Worse trying to book out, parking on the street again and walking 2 blocks to put key back on the random gate before getting in the road. It was very inconvenient way of trying book in, if I had have known this I wouldn’t have booked it.
- Brian (8/5): Very good - Location close to QPAC where I wanted to be
- Wendy (7/5): Good - Great location. Pick up/drop off keys at another location. Incorrect Wi-Fi details provided. Only one key provided.
- Sajid (4/5): Disappointing - I have travelled more than 30 countries and stayed in 4 to 5* hotels, but this one was a nightmare for me and a disaster especially for checking in. They dont have anyone at the reception to check you in after the evening hours, Although I informed them in advance about late check in, but no one was there to assist me to check,, and i have to wander and wait for 3 hrs at the middle of night. And then i came accross an message from the property that I have to collect the key froma locker which is situated some 1 km away from this property, and finding that locker took me 1 hr. And When I ask assistance during my stay from the reception, they said your booking is not with us and we dont want to deal with you, they were rude.
So, it was a very disappointing experience. No proper assistance in check in, no room makeup, no assistance of any kind. The Bedroom on the road side was very noisy, you can clearly hear the noise of bikes or vehicles running on the road, Then I have to sleep in the living room (sofa) where the noise was little less...Disappointing.
- Elisabeth (5/5): Passable - We have stayed at the Opera apartments before and enjoy the location and space. We booked through booking. com and the Serrian group, Would advise not to go through this group and to book directly through Opera apartments as we have done previously. This would avoid some of the following issues .The undesirable check in/out process which involved picking up/dropping off the keys at a different location and they were in a lockbox hanging of a garage gate. Didn't feel this was safe at 2 am in the morning which was our arrival time and not great at drop off time either ... a poor set up. Cheaper to go through Opera directly if they have availability. Also FYI at the moment there is extensive construction across the road so in the early morning (in our city side apartment) we were greeted with the associated noise and workmen that had a direct view into the apartment. A saving grace for us was that our 4 day stay included the weekend so no workers for those 2 days. For the other 2 days the noise factor was not good and we had to keep our blinds down for privacy so felt we were holidaying in a cave!
- Bryce (10/5): Exceptional - The location - The instructions to get the key & enter the apartment are clear and easy to follow 👌
- Carol (8/5): Great location, perfect for 1 or 2 people to enjoy the Brisbane convention centre and south bank experience - Great location . Very comfortable I was given the incorrect Wi fi name. Emailed manager never got a reply. Worked it out myself by going into settings on the TV
- Anthony (8/5): Good value, just need to improve key management - Misinformation about key location. First advice provided was a building site. Not possible to return keys to key safe due to road blocked off due to use of cranes for high rise construction
