Guest Reviews
- Stella (9/5): Lovely house and location - Lovely home. Large comfortable beds with good quality linen. Very spacious with enough rooms for people to do their own thing if they wanted. Surrounding hillside beautiful with great view from the top. Bumpy track to house but not a major issue. Some small maintainance issues eg back door latch and garden chairs..
- stephen (10/5): Great peaceful location, very pretty - Spacious well appointed
- David (6/5): House is fine but the road to was really bad - The road to the house was one of the worst condition and narrow.
- Serena (8/5): - The home was a lovely character home in a very nice location close to walks and very handy to a major town.
Plenty of space for a family.
Quiet and relaxing. The kitchen was not the cleanest. We had to re wash utensils and clean the stove before use.
The fridges smelt terrible from left over meat making the small fridge not usable.
A few repairs around the house need doing to make the rooms more usable.
- Harrod (9/5): Outstay was great - I thought the house was great, well equipped and very comfortable, fantastically clean, beautiful garden. Shame the host couldn't organise good weather for us! Although it was better than expected! We struggled with electrical things eg microwave, and TV and hob , we found the TV instructions which helped but couldn't find any for hob or microwave. Also a more accurate description of the tack from Rising Sun Lane to the house would
help as we thought we had gone wrong!
- Nathan (9/5): Very happy - I loved the location. Very private and excluded, but only 5 minutes away from civilisation. Word of warning. The dirt track leading to the property is very off-road, so not accessible if you have low suspension or driving a sports car
- Margherita (10/5): - Tutto assolutamente fantastico!

- Yvonne (7/5): Lovely family break - Plenty of space Too cluttered
- Shiran (9/5): -
- Val (10/5): Perfect house in a perfect location. - The space was perfect for our large family group with everything we needed provided.
A lovely peaceful location, ideal for dogs and we enjoyed the common on our doorstep.
- Jia (10/5): we were very lucky to have found this beautiful house. Host Lynda was very responsive and helpful. - fab location and very friendly/professional host
- Emma (8/5): We had a fabulous stay, there was everything we needed. The views from the property were incredible! I would recommend. - We loved all of the space, the bedrooms were perfect, all amenities we needed and the garden was gorgeous.
- Amanda (10/5): Me and my family came to celebrate my sons 21st birthday and it was perfect. - The home has everything you need for a lovely break. Everything was perfect
- Anthony (7/5): Good - Lovely house, gorgeous location, very well equipped, nicely decorated and spacious. Hostess was not there to welcome us, despite arriving exactly on time, and instruction document was not immediately apparent. It wasn't updated with current information nor complete with operating instructions for the comprehensive range of household appliances.
Garden was described as 'work in progress' but far more rudimentary and covered in dog poo that we had to pick up because of our toddler.
The main bedroom has only venetian blinds and one large arch window has no covering at all, so the early midsummer dawn wakes guests very early!
- Hannah (10/5): 'Out of this world' beautiful surroundings, a lovely large house & garden with home comforts. - We were away as friends and we were all totally delighted with the property. It had so much space, the garden was absolutely beautiful, we had two dogs with us and the garden was lovely for them. We couldn't have asked for a better little break in a stunning area. nothing!
- Felicity (9/5): Great for a family stay in the cotswolds - The location is superb and had everything we needed for a big family gathering. Plus the host left us the use of condiments. This isn't a negative, it's just for people to be aware of... the road is bumpy and gravel so you need to drive carefully and it's fine. Rubbish needs to be taken to the communal bins. Water is from a spring so you need to use it sparingly.
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional - We had a lovely stay up at Cleeve Hill. The house was a great size for a larger group and had plenty of room for the eight of us to relax. The garden was beautiful and tranquil for a morning cuppa in the sun. We brought our dog so she was happy to chill in the garden which was walled. We also enjoyed the walk upto the top of the hill at golden hour. The views are breathtaking. The host was very responsive via message for our questions and everything was very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- Victoria (9/5): Superb - Lovely location, well equipped property. There was nothing to dislike. Some cars might struggle on the track leading up to the house.
- Robin (9/5): Superb -
- Emma-louise (6/5): Pleasant -
- Norlellawati (6/5): Not a holiday home - The price. It was at a cheaper side. Too far inside from the main road. Small road with long grasses all the way.
So many things in the house. Some of the closet doors are tied up with rope.
The gardens not maintained. Grass are long.
Shower head in one of the bathroom are broken.
I booked and paid for 3 nights but i checked out after the first night.
- Shashin (9/5): Cotswold Retreat in a spacious home with great surroundings - The host Lynda was very responsive to questions and was very helpful. The house was clean and spacious with a lovely garden and has all the facilities listed. The best part was that the house was in front of a small hill and the gentle hike up the hill and the views were spectacular. Lovely walks just in front of your door step.
- Belen (8/5): Very good -
- Jo (10/5): Perfect - Completely as described in the listing and photos. No curtains in the bedrooms and personally find blinds tricky, but I am a dodo
- Sharon (9/5): A lovely relaxing break high up in the Cotswolds. - Really nice area and really nice house and very spacious. My family felt very much at home.
- Lily (7/5): Good -
- Sarah (8/5): Beautiful, peaceful location and house. - Beautiful house in a beautiful location. Drive up to property is a single track, bumpy road. It is accessible and host is very honest about access to the property. Not a major problem for right car.
- Rebecca (7/5): Good -
- Ion (10/5): Fantastic place to stay over - The location is fantastic and the property has a nice personality Some of the appliances were quite dated (especially the fridge) but overall ok
- Jonathan (10/5): Great get away, away from it all with great views, local walks and the Rising Sun a short walk away. - Very spacious with great facilities is a wonderful location. Nothing in particular. Track to the property was an ‘interesting’ drive but no real issues!
- Mathew (10/5): We had a really lovely time ,loved all the games and books available Thank you - Beautiful views very comfortable The chair in the living room was broken .
My mother in law arrived before us and sat on the chair and it collapsed its legs had just been propped on so it didn’t look broken , she was fine but maybe a note to say it wasn’t safe would of been good
- Lucy (9/5): Superb - Spacious. Peaceful. Stunning location with a short walk to the pub.
- Gabowar (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage was absolutely immaculate and beautifully presented. The owner had clearly put a lot of thought into providing everything we could possibly need for a comfortable stay, from fluffy towels to local recommendations. The house itself was charming and characterful, with everything you could need for a relaxing getaway. The owner has created a truly comfortable and welcoming space - a real home from home.
- Penny (10/5): Comfortable spacious farmhouse on the Cotswolds Way - Lovely location - Cleeve Hill is the highest point on the Cotswolds. Comfortable well equipped farmhouse. Responsive helpful host. If you don't like being off the beaten track this place isn't for you. As it was, we loved it!
- Gali (9/5): Superb - Great place. Great location.
The house is huge and really comfortable. Fully aquiped kitchen. Lovely garden
