- Amelia (10/5): Great spot for exploring the natural beauty of The Catlins - We were greeted by Gordon who has an inspiring passion for our environment and is a very active conservationist. The cabin was spotless and had all the amenities we needed which made cooking in the cabin easy.
- Robin (8/5): -
- Sandra (10/5): Perfect - Quiet private. Great shower !
- Wheki (10/5): - The host was super helpful, beautiful garden, walking area and such a beautiful night sky
- Karen (9/5): Heerlijk verblijf in de natuur - - Ideale locatie om de Catlins te verkennen.
- Tiny house is compact maar heeft alles wat je nodig hebt. Je zit heerlijk omringd door de natuur. Niets
- Sophia (10/5): - Such a lovely, quiet and private property surrounded by a lot of bush and birds.
- Jane (9/5): - Beautiful location, house had everything we needed for our nights stay.
Very comfortable indeed with a lovely garden to explore. Nothing
- Ray (10/5): Cosy and comfortable in a beautiful private bushland setting - The tiny house was cosy and comfortable. The setting was beautiful and we used the outdoor patio. The tiny house we stayed in had an uneven path from the car, but that allowed a remote and beautiful private setting
- Ahmed Al-Rubie (9/5): Cute and cosy stay! - Cute property in nice surroundings
Really comfortable Bed
Had good amenities
They are very eco friendly! Dining table wasnt the most secure and had gaps between it which means things fall through it
Minor issue in the grand scheme of things
- Yasemin (10/5): - Location in an amazing garden not far from town and beach. Very clean and very well equipped.
- Ruth (10/5): Peaceful - Tiny home set in the middle of a secluded garden full of native birds singing
- Amit Gleak (9/5): - חוויה נהדרת. הבקתה הייתה נקיה ומאובזרת בצורה מעולה. השירותים האקולוגיים קצת פחות נוחים.
- Graham (10/5): Great place to stay to explore the Catlins - We booked the ‘Tiny House’ knowing that it would be compact, but it proved to be well equipped, clean and with a very comfortable bed. Our host was very helpful and friendly, and we enjoyed our 3 day stay. It was a excellent choice of location for exploring the whole Catlins region. Nothing of significance

- Isobel (10/5): Beautiful and relaxing! - beautiful location, great facilities and Gordon was fantastically helpful! I didn’t realise it was located in an insect conservatory which is on me but it did get rather buggy.

- Julie (10/5): Great place to use as a base for your Catlins exploration. Still close enough to town to get all the supplies you need. - Very private, in a quiet location. Lots of bird life in the surrounding trees. Very comfortable bed.
- Talia (10/5): - I liked how homely this tiny house was, very clean, very earth friendly and lovely stay overall.
- Brittany (9/5): -

- Marion (8/5): Interesting property, great base to explore the Catlins! - Lovely location, nice and quiet, friendly owners, interesting to stay in a tiny house and see how everything fitted in. Could see the Southern Aurora from the bedroom window 😱

- Emma (7/5): Lovely rural location - Lovely rural location

- David (10/5): - Remote, clean and comfortable
- Jacqueline (9/5): Superb - Lovely spot, hidden away and private. Cozy little house, clean and tidy, had everything I needed. Very comfortable bed, excellent shower. Nice surroundings with fields and trees, lots of bird life. It was rainy so I didn't get to sit on the deck and enjoy the outdoors - but can't be helped! Still a nice outlook from all the windows.
- Rosie (10/5): Absolutely beautiful - Lovely private spot with lots of native birds
- Alix (7/5): Peaceful Property & Birdsong - Lovely peaceful location with beautiful birdsong. Got to see lots of Tuis and bellbirds using the bird feeder outside the tiny house. Donkeys on the property were cute too. Bed was comfy. Basic kitchen & electric stove wasn't great to use, kept cutting out so not sure if we were using it wrong. Dining table & chairs are an "outdoor" set so not the most comfy chairs to sit on.
- Nicole (10/5): Excellent stay, relaxing in nature. - This is a beautiful location with really lovely hosts. Waking up to the sounds of birds was great. And then hearing the playful donkeys asking for breakfast later in the morning was fun too. But the accommodation was a perfect location for a quiet getaway while being close to a lot of the natural beauty attractions in the area.
- Isabella (10/5): Such a lovely experience.the property is just stunning, our host Gordon was very lovely and gave us some good recommenda - Beautiful scenery Nothing

- Fm (9/5): Superb -
- Leonie (7/5): Eco cabin - Location, bird feeder, access to local highlights I was looking to explore tiny house experience. Needed more shelving or clever space use. Sink set up was awkward. Needed a rubbish bin for non compostables.Great for a couple of nights, but I need to fond more examples for living ideas. Was more a well equipped sleep out. Thanks!
- Pinn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sion (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): Superb - Nice and peaceful surrounded by bush and birds. Great location for a off grid getaway
- Baker (8/5): Exactly what it says - tranquil & tiny. - A fine solution for an overnight stay, but when you say "tiny" that is exactly correct.
But Tranquility was certainly tranquil and nicely located.
Heating was a slight issue as we found it rather cold overnight whilst we do not like running heating systems unnecessarily when asleep. The smoke detector's battery when flat @ 2AM and had to be disconnected to stop it beeping!!
- Torie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hugh (7/5): A real tiny house set adjacent to a fabulous food forest and areas of native replanting. - The surrounding food forest and areas of native planting makes for a lovely outlook and walk. Very comfortable bed and well provided with toiletries etc. Friendly host. Very handy location for touring the Catlins This is a real tiny house experience with very little space or storage. Although there is additional outdoor seating, it would be very cramped in wet weather. The roof is very thin, and we were kept awake by small debris falling from the surrounding trees during a windy night.
- Ana (10/5): Exceptional - First time staying in a tiny home, and I love it!! The place has everything you need and is really comfy (although it did get really cold at night!). The hosts were super kind and waited pretty late for me to arrive.
- Victoria (8/5): A tiny house in the forest was interesting, but the weather was foul. - The tiny house concept is interesting. The decor was charming (especially the William Morris print bedspread) and the kitchen well stocked. It was great to pick apples and pears to eat. The owners are truly committed to the environment. The weather was a sad factor which no one could help. But, we couldn’t sit outside due to poring rain and getting to our suitcases which had to be stored out of the tiny house was inconvenient.
- Eddie (9/5): Superb - Very cosy home in a lovely location
- Philip (9/5): Small, smart and comfy - Very cute tiny home set on beautiful homestead with cracking views only 5 mins walk up the hill. Tiny home had everything you need for a great weekend and friendly hosts. The tiny home wasn't well insulated at all which meant the heat pump was needed on almost constantly to keep the place comfortable with cold weather.
- Mel (8/5): Cosy retreat in beautiful Catlins. - Peaceful setting, close to Owaka. Spotlessly clean, focus on sustainability and very comfy bed. We could have done with a bit more space for comfy chairs but it wasn't an issue since we were out most of the time and not sitting around.
- Ruth (9/5): Superb -
- Rainhard (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, modern interior. Well equipped kitchen including a microwave and an electric stovetop.
- Sally (8/5): An enjoyable stay, a first in a Tiny house. - Location amongst lots of greenery was great , peaceful with birds being only sounds . Nothing we didn’t like but surprisingly noisy with rain drops and tree debris on roof.
- Hans (10/5): Great experience close to nature - Staying at the Tiny House was a great new experience close to nature. We loved the silence and peace below the big trees. We also loved the sound of the birds singing. The house was very clean, well equipped, and everything worked fine.
A small roof above the front door would be more comfortable, though.
We can really recommend staying at Tiny House.
- Glenda (9/5): Lovely setting. Would have been incredible if weather was fine. Very private and quiet - Beautiful setting . Listening to all the birds was amazing. Place was very clean and host was friendly and helpful Getting used to a cassette toilet was a bit difficult but we managed
- Mopo (9/5): Superb -
- Boult (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Truly tranquil - Truly tranquil setting in nature, with hosts quietly and calmly meeting our every need and making us feel welcome.
A huge rain+wind storm passed through in the night, and the tiny cabin was cozy and comfie. Our schedule was our only problem. With only one night, we could not explore much of the interesting nearby area. To overcome that , Gordon's advice was most helpful, and we enjoyed remarkable hikes in the Catlins rainforest.
- Chris (7/5): Good -
- Arne (10/5): Exceptional Stay!!! - We stayed there for a few nights and we have to say it is exceptional. The location, the idea behind the whole place. The house is beautifully furnished and there really is everything you need. Owaka has all the stores, restaurants and cafés you could wish for.
The location is perfect for exploring the Catlins. Nothing.
- Rachael (8/5): Very good -
- Kenneth (10/5): Everything a weary traveller could ask for and if interested in nature this is the place to stay - The serenity of the unit and surrounding gardens. The unit was so well laid out it was difficult to imagine such a small place being as comforts it was Nothing to dislike
- Mikaela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, modern, cosy and comfortable tiny home in a tranquil setting. Had a wonderful stay and would actually live here! Gordon was very helpful, welcoming and informative about the area and wildlife. Nothing
- Hoy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (8/5): Lovely situation. - Comfortable bed, clean and lovely situation.
- Liz (9/5): Was exactly what I was expecting. Fascinating location, lots of native fauna, and flora and quiet. - Location was what was advertised. Easy to find. Modern unit. Instructions on using the hotplate properly would have been useful. Grey water discharge point into drain should be a slightly further away entry. Bit unsightly for some.
- Lois (8/5): Very good -
- Annik (9/5): Superb - This comfortable little house is situated in a lovely garden full of birds.
- Joanne (9/5): Relaxing enjoyable stay in a great location with plenty of beautiful places nearby to visit. - Lovely location, lots of birds and wildlife to watch and help destress. Hosts were lovely and were very informed about the area and wildlife. we went on the 'Give back to nature tour' with our hosts which we enjoyed very much, and an exceptional packed lunch was provided. Thank you! We were surprised how good the shower was in the Tiny Home. There wasn't really anything we didn't like, we were aware there would be a chemical toilet in the Tiny Home but that was maybe the only thing but it definitely beats staying in a tent!!
- Katrina (8/5): Overnighter as a couple - Cosy tiny house, comfy bed, excellent shower, great setting next to an orchard with interesting plants, not too far from Owaka and Pounawea, very peaceful. Deck needs an awning to have somewhere outdoors out of the rain, no native bush to speak of so pics were a bit misleading. Continental breakfast items would be a nice touch for the price charged.
- Kathleen (8/5): Excellent location very nice hosts. - Location was wonderful. The weather was not very warm so sitting outside was not an option but there wasn't really any comfortable chairs to sit on inside the tiny house.
- Tim (9/5): Superb -
- Rick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (8/5): Very good - Awesome location in Owaka, easy check in and out, lovely little accomodation. Not as private as photos appear.
- Monique (10/5): Exceptional - I loved the set up of the place I felt the bedding did not keep me warm enough - would be good to have an extra blanket
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marie (10/5): Loved staying there. Loved the human touch of being met by the host - N/A All was good
- Yuan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beverley (7/5): Perfect private location in a natural wildlife setting for exploring the Catins. - Very central for touring around the Catlins. Very private and quiet. Helpful host and fruit grown in the garden provided. The sitting area is limited inside but there is plenty of outside seating if the weather is good and warm.
