Cozy, with everything you could need during a short stay in Cape Town. The main lift was being repaired so it was a minor inconvenience having to wait for the goods elevator or walk down a flight of stairs to use another set of lifts, but this is a really minor issue.

Perfect overnight city stop for a night if you don’t want any “ extras” Staff good also! Little tired decor. Extremely basic kit out in kitchen. Would benefit from fresh ( matching ) glassware and decent sized mugs. No obvious plugs to dry hair near a mirror !

We had just stayed in the hotel and would have rather stayed back there as the rooms and facilities were better

Not really a lux stay as per advertised - friends stayed in a much ni - Housekeeper was fantastic very good ; friendly and accomodating 5 stars ZERO privacy for a “penthouse” apartment- office block opposite always busy and people on smoking balcony always looking across at you - No tv in living room - no blinds in the entire living space (not that u would want to use them in a “penthouse” also too much space with nothing comfortable or useable for the duration of our long term stay - plunge pool on rooftop was a waste of time

They need to improve the apartment on minor issues like the curtains need to be hag properly coz they don't close off and the bath soap where not on the shower. The bathtub took so long for water to get out. If this minor issues can be sorted otherwise everything will be fine.

• Coombs (6/5): Distinctively average - The housekeeper was friendly and helpful. Well located to access V&A Waterfront and Cape Town airport. Fairly run down and in need of some TLC. The location is good but the apartment needs maintenance. Rooms are dark with narrow double beds. The terrace is in poor shape and the pool and bbq very dirty.

There is a car (I assume the owner's) permanently parked in one of the flat's 2 parking bays and the couch is not a sleeper couch like advertised. It is too small for an adult to sleep on.

• Micheal (4/5): Horrible. No sleep for two nights - Breakfast was good. Location also good The unit is old and run down. (Wear and tear). Al lot of noise at night. People on the same floor fighting, shouting and screaming at each other in hallway and passages. It sounded like men were beating/assaulting women in the passage and in the next-door units. Drunk with no respect to anyone. Very disturbing. We could not sleep 2 nights in a row. Horrible to listen to all this screaming and swearing at each other. We considered phoning the Police at one point. Will NEVER stay there again or recommend to anyone. Closest to a slum I ever got.

• Rosinha (10/5): My stay at Onyx Penthouse. - I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this beautiful penthouse. The views are absolutely breathtaking, and the owners ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. They even arranged free transportation to pick us up from the airport and bring us to the hotel, which was a wonderful touch. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a complimentary bottle of white wine and still water, which was a lovely gesture. Unfortunately, I accidentally broke a beautiful glass of wine and, when I informed the owners, they were incredibly kind and understanding, choosing not to charge me for it. I highly recommend this place! I would rate it 5 stars for cleanliness and overall experience. The only minor issue was that the host came in to do dishes and stock the cutlery while we were present, but aside from that, everything was perfect. Overall, a fantastic stay — I look forward to returning! Beautiful! No complaints 👌 Perfect location, perfect penthouse, perfect stuff 👌

• Gillian (8/5): Nice apartment but needs improvement - The apartment is spacious and modern. Well stocked with many amenities. Daily Housekeeping service was also a plus. Tvs in both bedrooms with streaming channels. The place seems past its prime and run down. Needs maintenance. Pool and deck upstairs not well maintained either so not usable. The cleaning could definitely be improved as the floors and counter tops were grimey. Host didn't communicate where to find the keys, how to access the unit on time until she was contacted. No basic info provided I.e wifi access, appliance instructions or general relevant info on the apartment. Traffic noise was audible throughout the night from the bedrooms. No curtains/blinds in the living areas therefore everyone in the building across the street could see into the apartment after sunset. Towels had dodgey stains on them. No information was provided on where to park even after we requested parking. The security guard had to troubleshoot the parking bays with us level by level until we encountered the correct one.

No WiFi password provided, no milk provided for tea or coffee, the bbq upstairs were filled with a bag of sand and was unable to prepare own food on it, cupboards had water damage and lacked the premium feel. Was unable to be assisted by reception as they just replied to all my questions they don't deal with penthouses. Was unable to get any help with passwords or even milk.
• Brandon (3/5): Deeply regret wasting my money. - Centrally located, the apartment is spacious and would be comfortable for several nights stay. Terrible experience on arrival. The penthouse is a separate business to the hotel (while physically part of the hotel). No staff seemingly knew what the process was for receiving guests or providing keys (no mail or other prior communication). Security guard asked us to follow him with our luggage into a smelly basement apartment to find “the guy”. Eventually got to the apartment just before 4pm and it was still being cleaned. The cleaner remained busy sweeping (the floor was filthy) for 15 minutes after we arrived. Would not recommend.

• Demi (10/5): Amazing - Such a beautiful location with such a pretty view. The penthouse is absolutely amazing! Heated towel railings, heated flooring(we think), private pool just everything you need. We even got some chocolates and flowers :). There were some water damage to some of the cupboards in the bathroom that needs fixing. Overall this stay was very good and definitely worth the money. Just remember to bring some milk lol. They have amazing coffee, we just didn’t have milk. There is also a coffee shop downstairs.

Milk in the fridge was used before - half full bottle. The stove top dirty and not wiped. Overall the place is in a neglected state. Really a pity
