- Diego (1/5): An absolute nightmare — completely abandoned in the middle of the night with no help and no refund. - DISGRACEFUL. ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES I’VE EVER HAD. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. We arrived around midnight, as we had informed the host in advance. They sent us two entry codes via message (one for the building one for the room). We got into the building without issue — but when we tried to open the room door, the code didn’t work. Not once, not twice — we tried over and over. No answer to our calls, no response to messages or WhatsApp. There’s no reception. This is an unattended property. We called Bookings for help. They also tried to contact the host and failed. Two full hours went by with no solution. Out of desperation, around 1:45 AM, I tried the code on the next door apartment… and to our surprise — and to the shock of the couple sleeping inside … it opened! They were terrified, as anyone would be. We immediately apologized and left. So either they gave away our room, or gave us a completely wrong code. By now it was 2 AM, we had nowhere to sleep, my partner is 6 months pregnant, and we were standing on the street with our luggage, exhausted and stressed. Booking couldn’t get us another hotel. We ended up wandering the streets until we finally found a room at 3 AM. And the worst part came the next day. I explained everything to the host — and their first response was: “You’re lying, the code was correct.” Seriously? Why would I lie about being stranded on the street at 2 AM with my pregnant partner? If they didn’t believe me, they could’ve asked the poor guests whose room I accidentally opened in the middle of the night — I’m sure they’d have something to say about it. Only after I told them I had video proof of the code failing did they admit the mistake and promise a refund. It’s been almost a month. Still no refund. Not a single cent. You expect at least basic professionalism, empathy, and accountability. This property offered none. No support. No responsibility. No shame. Truly unacceptable.
