Guest Reviews
- Judith (8/5): Rea - Well Equipped kitchen with welcoming supply of tea, coffee and milk.
Books, cds and DVDs and games available, which were appreciated.
Great location. Lovely character cottage, with nice decorative touches. Well, we were warned about the steep spiral staircases, but pretty hairy getting luggage up and down them, and if we needed to get to bathroom at night.
- Glenn (9/5): - A quirky property tucked away in Broadstairs, yet super central. There was nothing not to like. A great property.
- Jenny (7/5): The accommodation was acceptable for the price point. The bed was not particularly comfortable and very low. - Location is good Property is quirky but not ideal for older people.
- Caroline (9/5): Schattig oud cottage - Schattig oud cottage en de locatie
- Ju (6/5): Great location, lovingly little cottage with a few downsides - It’s a beautiful little cottage, very lovingly decorated and the location was perfect.
The host was very kind and accommodating. The staircase shouldn’t be underestimated. It was barely possible to get the suitcases up and down. Even walking on it was difficult.
Could’ve been cleaner.
Also the mattresses were too soft and you could feel the coil springs on your entire spine.
- Michael (9/5): Lovely cottage will stay there again if comes available - Location was great nice cottage . Nothing
- David (6/5): - Place was as described and in an excellent location. The key was not in the lock box when we arrived. There was hardly any toilet paper left for a three night stay.
- Tom (8/5): - Close to all amenities. Have stayed with this company a few times now. I found the bedding to be dirty and the room was very dusty. I am allergic to dust so was reacting to it alot. I found the bed upstairs to be not that good for tall people as the posts at the end of the bed restrict you from laying down properly. (I am 6ft3 so I struggled but if smaller you'll be fine). The toilet is also very low to the ground for some reason.

- Julie (9/5): Thank you we loved the property great facilities and lots of character - very quiet and central - Lovely property, great location, good facilities and clear communication from hosts All good!
- SARAH (9/5): Great place, great location, clean, loved it! - Adorable little place, very thankful for the clothes washer. The stairs were very small and difficult to use, but also added a lot of charm to the experience, so all was good!
- Janine (9/5): Felt happy and comfortable each time arrived back at the cottage - Lovely position, near beach and town centre- lovely decor, and everything you could possibly need in the kitchen - amazing coffee table that transformed into a dining table- nice to be able
Great to be able to open door to outside courtyard, lovely cafe right nearby for coffee and
Sandwiches - curiosity shop
Nice bedrooms and towels - plenty of electricity points - cool so heating came on so cosy
Shower over bath very good and easy to use
Nice chairs and sofas in lounge and nice lighting Nothing that an end of season deep clean wouldn’t fix to make it absolutely perfect😊
- Clifford (8/5): Enjoyed the stay, would book again - Great location in Broadstairs
Keybox and key system worked well
Stylish decoration
Clean kitchen had what we needed
Welcome milk, teabags and washing up things provided
Set in a nice little courtyard The basement room could have been a good chill out area for teens but the tv didn't work. Upstairs tv worked OK.
Light didn't work in main room so had to use a lamp
Need clearer instructions for unloading area. We missed the opening and had to reverse up a .narrow lane. The space shared tables and chairs in it from a cafe
- Dorien (7/5): Goed gelegen - De locatie Niet zo proper
- June Rhodes (9/5): - Very characterful cottage in a great location, our 4 year old granddaughter loved the steep staircase!
- Kate (5/5): A just about okay stay - Great location in central Broadstairs The bathroom needs sorting - we had significant issues with the toilet that actually stopped working completely on our first morning. It continued to run very loudly the night before which was also very annoying! Phil thankfully came out to fix it over lunchtime but it needs to be fully replaced. The cleaning wasn’t great as the floors were gritty/sandy and the bathroom was dusty and just a bit grimey. We also found the beds to be very hard, even though we like a firm mattress. Overall, unfortunate but means we wouldn’t stay again and the average rating.
- Brewis (8/5): Lovely stay right near the beach - House had everything needed, comfy beds, fantastic location and good communication The toilet took forever to fill up, which when you have 4 people sharing one toilet is not ideal, this could do with being looked at as could be an easy fix
- Jacqui (6/5): Fortunately because of the location of the property we did enjoy our stay there. - The character. It’s proximity to the beach and other amenities. And it was very quiet.
The seating area outside the house was very nice. The neighbours were friendly. The main bedroom was a lovely space. It wasn’t clean. The floors were filthy. The tiles in the shower/bath were mildew. The tap in the sink was loose and difficult to turn on without the water coming out full blast. The toilet is far too low. There were cobwebs everywhere, especially around the windows, particularly in the kitchen. The little outdoor area off the kitchen was full of cobwebs and the table and chairs hadn’t been cleaned.
We knew the stairs would be steep and that was fine. But the rope to hold onto was dirty and needs replacing.
The bed in the second bedroom was far too low and I don’t think underneath had ever been cleaned.
We felt there was no attention to detail at all.
- Andrew (8/5): A cosy cottage very close to a lovely beach - Very central location. The property is compact but had everything we required for a short stay. We are responsible dog owners so we welcomed the hosts relaxed approach to us bringing a dog. The restrictions to dogs accessing the nearby beaches was disappointing. Instructions for unloading and nearby on street parking were welcome Obviously the steep stairs require careful use but we were aware of this when booking.
- Lucia (10/5): Great location near the beach and town. - Lovely and cozy cottage to spend quality time with family/friends. Amazing location. Well equipped kitchen, good shower and comfy beds. They were really flexible with the check in and even kept our luggage for a couple of hours after the check out time. Nothing to complain! Just a watch out if you have mobility issues this cottage could be tricky as it has narrow stairs. It was not a problem for us.
It would be good to have a fan in the bedroom and some parasol available.
- Simon (6/5): Fantastic location in central Breaodstairs but lacked attention to detail, horrible mattress! - The location was excellent very central within Broadstairs, quaint courtyard with picturesque cottages. Very clear checking in instructions, cottage was quirky as description. ideal for a short break. They did deal with a towel related issue really quickly. Cleaning could have been more thorough, bathroom floor wasn't great and other floors a bit dusty/gritty in corners. The beds especially the middle floor one was terrible, cheap or knackered mattress and thin cheap pillows meant not a good nights sleep. The shared outside courtyard was really messy with weeds and was patently not looked after even though most of the cottages were the same owner. One of many holiday lets in the owners portfolio and felt a bit like it, lacked attention to detail on the little things that make an acceptable stay a memorable one.
- Elizabeth (10/5): It was absolutely brilliant! And definitely worth coming back again!! - We had the most amazing time at your beautiful cottage! (I’m sure we originally booked to stay at this cottage/one of your cottages for Christmas between lockdowns, but couldn’t because of the restrictions). But booking with you again was absolutely brilliant! We couldn’t have enjoyed it more if we tried. We would 100% book in with you again over summer or for Christmas!! Thanks so much again! :) We loved all the decor and how cosy it made you feel - it was definitely to me and my partners taste. We just loved everything about it.
- Linda (9/5): Superb - Quaint cottage with everything you would need for a family holiday in Broadstairs. Very close to the centre and within walking distance of the beach. Very clean and comfortable. Dog friendly. The stairs to the cellar room and bedrooms are narrow and steep. Once we got the knack of climbing up and down them ( and we are a couple of pensioners!)they were fine, but not suitable for people with walking difficulties and maybe very young children.
- Alan (9/5): Lovely character cottage with great facilities. - Well presented and flexible and very comfortable. A home from home with great character! Comfortably accommodated 4 adults. Good facilities. Free parking was available a short walk away. A minor issue was resolved very quickly.
.
- Gary (9/5): Superb - Location was fantastic!
We found free parking on a street only a 10 - 15 min walk from the house, didn't need the car so suited us fine.
A beautiful house, very close to the sea, pubs/restaurants, steep winding stairs indoors, very quirky, was fine for us but you may struggle if you have mobility problems.
- Marion (9/5): Superb -
- James (9/5): Superb - Great location and a nice place.
- Paul (8/5): we loved the cottage, and would 100% come back. - location, cottage, dog friendly, wood log fire. smart tv & bigger, bigger & more comfortable bed, rug in front room as there is a draft coming through the floorboards, cobwebs on windows need cleaning inside & out, no tin opener.
- Colin (10/5): Enjoyable visit.Would stay in hosts other properties - Perfect location. Stairs are dangerous.
- Jones (9/5): A great choice for us - We stayed Nov '24 and over a weekend so can't comment on peak season. But the cottage is perfectly positioned in heart of Broadstairs, a few steps from the high street, but in a cul-de-sac of other cottages so peaceful. The welcome book had some great info, the town has some great eateries and bars, and there was everything from a boom fayre to music shows going on to keep everyone entertained. We really enjoyed our stay in Broadstairs and will be back! There wasnt anything we failed to like, the reviews re staircases is true and the hosts at no point hide away from this. They are steep, like a castle battlements, but align with the cottage charm.
- Marianela (8/5): Great location - Great location and lovely cottage. Very cosy.
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional - Great location & well equipped. N/A
- Jackie (10/5): Really lovely cottage- would definitely recommend it to others. - Fabulous location in the town and next to the beach. Very quirky cottage. The stairs! The rope up the side of the stairs was sticky/dirty and a bit unhygienic. You need to hang on for dear life to climb those stairs !!
- Sacha (9/5): Lovely stay great hosts, when doing the stairs do them bare foot it makes it easier. But you’ll get used to them very qu - Beautiful house, amazing location, clean and lovely kitchen fully equipped
- Katya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (8/5): Enjoyed our stay and was a relaxing environment - Comfortable and good location Stairs were very steep
- Bjuschr (8/5): A home away from home in central location that needs a bit more maintenance. - Conveniently located in the center of Broadstairs in a charming little square with an ensample of lovely little flintstone cottages, just a few meters away from the harbor and the beach. The house had an extensive library of DVDs, CDs, books and games and a playing room in the basement - so very suitable for families with kids. Kitchen equipped with everything you need for a longer stay incl. a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, lots of pots and pans. Key deposit box needs some lubricant, had a hard time releasing the key. The mattress was way too soft for my liking, me and my wife could barely sleep on it. The overall cleanliness could have been better, especially the bath room was very dusty in the corners, also the outdoor table on the little backyard patio needed cleaning from bird... you know... but otherwise it was quite OK. Some of the floorboards in the main bedroom are loose, so you hear a *plong-plong* every time you walk from the bath room into the bedroom. Light bulb from one of the lamps in the living room broken, probably because it has a EU-thread and they didn't have a replacement at hand. During our stay the kitchen fuse flew, so I had to text the host (Phil and Beverly) under the mobile number they provided, but did not get any answer so I looked myself for the fuse box and eventually found it next to the sofa.
- Sarah (10/5): Review on cottage in Broadstairs - Lovely cottage, the decor was gorgeous and the location was very good. Liked it all perfect place to stay
- Winston (10/5): Had a fantastic stay and the house felt so comfortable and homely. We have already booked a return trip -
- Andy (10/5): Excellent house in a great location - Comfortable house which was clean, well equipped and in a very good location in the middle of Broadstairs. As it was described the stairs are very steep and not suitable for less able people. Not a problem for us but be aware
- Sarah (10/5): A lovely place to stay, we will be back! -
- Deb (9/5): Superb -
- Timothy (9/5): Superb -
- Katherine (7/5): Good - Great location. Nice and clean. Very steep stairs. No store cupboard essentials for cooking.
- Richard (7/5): Great location but the house is looking tired and uncared for. - Quiet and central location Smell of damp through house coming from basement room. Loose dangerous floorboard in bedroom. Old music system which doesn’t work. Very precarious staircase which is not mentioned until after you have booked, not suitable for older people or children. Kitchen windows and skylight spiders webs. No shower gel or soap.
- Larissa (10/5): Excellent stay in pretty cottage - Excellent location and had all facilities needed The stairs were a little hairy!!
- Christian (10/5): We only stayed for a few days at the end of the summer holidays, but what a find! We’re coming back! - This is a fabulous property in a quiet charming courtyard in a very convenient location, literally 100 yards from Viking Bay.
There is a lot of attention to detail. It is warm, comfortable and inviting with plenty of cheerful artwork and it is very child centred. A lot of thought has been put into this. The children loved the playroom in the basement, all the children’s books and the beds you could melt in. Lovely to have a relaxing cup of coffee in courtyard in the mornings and a very easy gentle stroll to the bay.
My children loved this place as did I. We would love to come back again.
- Julie (8/5): Very good -
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angela (9/5): Superb - The cottage was beautiful! We had a wonderful stay. It was clean beautifully decorated. Great room downstairs for the children to play and watch movies. Lots of lovely extras around the cottage such as children's books and games. Very good communication from the owners. Would definitely recommend
- Simon (8/5): Very good -
- Helen (10/5): relaxing, had the best two days with our Labrador, quite nice to be out of season so we could make use of walking throug - location was the best! brilliant to be on the beach and in the heart of Broadstairs in a matter of minutes, could walk to everything! nothing, can’t think of any negatives
- Steve (9/5): Highly recomme nded, unique property, brilliant location close to beach and local shops and restaurants. - Lovely property and great location. excellent hosts.
