Guest Reviews
- Vivien (8/5): We loved the house and Hornsea. The beach one side and the mere at the other. - Clean and comfortable and good location
- Rick (10/5): Highly recommended! - Everything you will ever need. Super comfy bed. Nothing
- Charlotte (10/5): Great owner and lovely house. - Fabulous stay. Scrupulous clean and great communication from Dawn. The log burner was most welcome during the storm .although the house was always warm, but logs make you feel cosy. The house is on the main street but honestly well insulated so not bothered by noise. We had lots of lovely walks and even a swim. All perfecf

- Mark (10/5): Dawn's communication was excellent -
- Mariea (9/5): - The location was brilliant The single bed in the little bedroom was uncomfortable and it creaked really badly when you moved in it. But this hasn't stopped us from booking for Christmas 2026
- Katy (10/5): -
- Martin (10/5): -
- David (10/5): - Great location.
- Jennifer (9/5): 6 nights - Nice easy walk to the centre and beach. Lots of shops and restaurants close by. Lovely property and positioned well for Bridlington and Filey. Love the log fire as cosy.. Nothing.
- Denise (7/5): Great location - Location was good, breakfast at The Mere very nice.
Property was clean and everything provided for in the kitchen Parking around the back of the property not ideal although you could use the funeral directors car park for loading and unloading bags
Small single bed not suitable for older adults, a bit high
The reason we wouldn’t stay again would be the parking and no downstairs toilet (although we were aware of this before booking)
- Sam (8/5): Lovely stay in a lovely cottage - All good, lovely cottage would use again Nothing
- Nigel (7/5): a great location in a great property - The property was in a great location, close to the town centre and the Tesco There was a lack of airflow, although we opened windows the house remained quite warm
- Joanne (10/5): - The decor, lovely bath and the private garden
- Ebony (10/5): Wonderful, comfortable and relaxing! - We had a truly wonderful stay at The Haven! It was myself, my mum and my four year old daughter and we were all very happy and comfortable there. The house was spotlessly clean, the beds were very comfortable and Dawn kept in touch with us, making us feel very welcome. Lots of local amenities are so close to the house, with the sea front just a 10/15 minute walk away and Hornsea Mere a 5 minute walk away. It was a lovely place to relax and unwind and we would highly recommend! Nothing! 😊
- sian (10/5): Perfect stay at The Haven - Second time staying here and again was not disappointed, everything we needed clean and tidy - perfect Nothing
- Christine (10/5): -
- Jaki (9/5): -
- Jo (9/5): Lovely stay - Quality of fixtures and fittings, well stocked kitchen and the cleanliness. Comfortable beds and good shower. Good l
ocation to the centre of Hornsea and to the beach. Host was really helpful. It couldn't be helped but due to the location it isn't possible to park next to the property which may not suit everyone. However there is space to unload and a dedicated space around the corner in which to park
- Sandra (10/5): Will recommend to stay host Dawn very attentive and - Very clean and welcoming and equipped with every thing you need Nothing
- Mark (10/5): Lovely house - Great location, lovely spotlessly clean 3 bedroom house. Stayed here a few times, love it. Private, small garden at the back, lovely sun trap. Close to restaurants, pubs and shops and only a short walk to the promenade/ beach. Thanks again Dawn, hopefully back soon.
- Paul (8/5): Very good -

- Sharon (10/5): Weekend away with friends - Would highly recommend this property. The host was very helpful and kept in touch. Nothing at all it was excellent
- Sheila (8/5): Really good place to stay and very comfortable. Excellent communication from host. - Very clean and comfortable and close to all amenities. Busy road during the day and door straight onto the street was a little worrying with having a dog.
- Christine (10/5): GORGEOUS PROPERTY - The house is beautiful and very well equipped. Beds are comfortable and everything very clean.
The Host was very informative and helpful.
The good thing for us was it was close to every amenity as we had an elderly couple with us and nothing including pubs and restaurants were far to walk.
Would definitely use again.
- Tracy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bernhard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (10/5): Comfortable and clean - The host was quick to respond to any communication on the lead up to and during our stay. The house was spotless when we arrived and set out lovely. Well equipped throughout specially in the kitchen and a lovely little courtyard garden which was secure (great for dogs) the beds were really comfy.
The property was in a good location easy walk to the shops, park and mere, the beach was a little further but still within walking distance. And plenty of places to visit within short driving distances.
A very comfortable stay and would stay again.
- Kimberley (10/5): A clean, cosy and comfy space that really felt like our home for the week. - The house has everything you need and more. It felt like a home on holiday. Just a perfect space. Our host Dawn was incredibly attentive, excellent communication. Property is a nice distance to everything. No fault of the house or our host, but its close proximity to a busy road was the only issue for us. It did teach our children some valuable road safety lessons though!
- Loretta (10/5): Excellent host, answered all questions promptly - great location for the beach and town! Would defo stay again. - All clean and tidy, looked just like the pictures! NOTHING!!
- Juz (10/5): Our little piece of Haven... - The location of The Haven is perfect. On the high street with off road private parking for 1 car.
The house is lovely. All the family slept like babies the beds were so comfortable. Lovely private backyard so our dog was safe to come and go with door open. Cosy home was just perfect.
The host Dawn was brilliant 👏 communication with her from booking to end of our holiday was great.
Hornsea was beautiful we fell in love with the town. Lots of places to drink and eat. Plenty of local shops really welcoming, friendly staff. Very dog friendly place. Lots of bugs lol.
- Joanne (10/5): Perfect - The house and garden were amazing, loved the bath in particular. The location is ideally located
- Stephen (10/5): House and area exceeded expectations and would certainly rcommend The Haven to family and friends. - Central location with private off road car parking which is always a bonus.Easy access to bars and eateries. Nice steady 10 minutes walk to coast. Town itself was spotless can't recall seeing any litter. The Hornsea Hub was a nice facility. Locals seemed especially friendly in shops, chippies and pubs.
Hornsea was a good base from which to explore East Riding coast.Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough all within an easy drive of less than an hour. In case of bad weather and a plan b needed, York, Pickering and Eden camp all within easy striking distance.
Dawn our host kept us up to date with information about the house on arrival and departure. I really had the impression that we could readily contact and rely on her should there have been a problem.
No complaints about the house whatsoever. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. In the main we found it surprisingly quiet most of the time given the property fronts a main road. The beds were very comfy and there was plenty of hot water for baths and showers so we were extremely happy. All in all despite a varied week weather wise we had a lovely 7 days in Yorkshire. So thank you again for hosting us and we shall return. Nothing worth mentioning.
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional - Spotless house in a great location. Beds were so comfortable. Car parking space a great bonus. House had everything we needed for a five night break.
- Helen (9/5): Superb - Great proximity to shops, beach and lake. House was lovely and clean. The main road right outside was very noisy. Also would have liked some logs for the log fire or the opportunity to buy them.
- Firth (9/5): Overall, it was a lovely house and I would recommend it. We had a really nice stay and the weather was dry and reasonabl - It was beautiful and clean, central location so easy to get around. The house itself is lovely with a good sized living/dining room and a modern kitchen with plenty of equipment. The small yard at the back has table and chairs and is an attractive sunny little spot. The single bed was very high and my sister had problems getting in and out of it. The other two bedrooms had good double beds. I would suggest that one of these rooms has two singles which would make it more versatile.
- John (10/5): Excellent location and great communication - Very clean and well equipped Nothing
- Norman (9/5): A good property in a central to town location - Despite being a cold weather week, the property was well heated and easy to use central heating system nothing
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kimberley (9/5): Superb - What a wonderful place the Haven is to stay.
Perfect location, Super clean and tidy catered for everything thats needed for a self catering holiday.

- Dale (10/5): Excellent, clean property with everything you could need. - The property was exceptionally clean and very well cared for. It had everything we needed for a stay with parents and teenagers. We were well located with shops and cafes/bars within minutes of a walk. The hosts were extremely helpful throughout and easy to contact and provided us with great advice for things to do in the local area. Nothing!
- Sally (10/5): The haven was a little gem . A beautiful home in all areas . Very high standards . - Location was excellent , minutes walk away from the shops & not far from family members .
Dawn had thought of everything to make it a home from home .

- Kim (10/5): Definitely lives up to its name. - This property was spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds. So modern and homely with everything needed for a relaxing stay. Position also central. The hosts communication was excellent. Our dog really liked it here too. Would highly recommend. Front door straight onto a main road, but a safe and pleasant back garden.
- Garry (10/5): Great stay - Property was in a great location, close to everything in hornsea, close to the mere and shops and bars and also tesco.parking nearby. Every room was decorated lovely and was very clean. Towels, toilet rolls, shampoo etc were provided. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need for a great stay, well stocked, slow cooker, microwave, toaster, utensils etc. There was wifi and an alexa. Central heated. The host provided us with any information needed and was very helpful. The single bed in the small bedroom was difficult to get into as it was higher than a normal bed, this was pointed out to us when we booked. It could be a struggle for someone not very tall. Otherwise there was 2 other bedrooms with comfy double beds in.
- Rhys (10/5): Fantastic - Great location, great facilities. Was easy to walk around town from the house. The bed were really comfortable, with the rooms nice and dark to be able to sleep. Wouldve liked to have stayed longer

- Ann-marie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Markh1965 (10/5): Exceptional - Second time we have stayed at The Haven, absolutely gorgeous house, lovely decorated throughout. House very clean and tidy, full of all the accessories needed for a short stay. Love the rainfall shower plus the outside space when it's sunny. Free car parking, always a bonus. The Haven is in the town centre, very close to the Mere and all the shops and restaurants. It's about a 15 minute stroll to the beach.
Recommended place to stay and visit, thanks again Dawn.
- Judith (10/5): Very comfortable, perfect location for town and for the mere. - The attention to detail in this holiday property is exceptional. There was nothing that we didn’t like.
- Cheryl (10/5): Just what it says, a little "Haven" - The Haven is right in the town centre, so once the car is parked, it's perfectly located to explore on foot. It is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, well equipped, and very comfortable. We had very good weather, so we were also able to make use of the delightful courtyard area. Comfortable beds and beautiful linen. Nothing to not like! A great little find.
- Markh1965 (10/5): Lovely 3 bedroom house - Lovely 3 bedroom house close to all the shops, pubs and restaurants (very close to the Mere), about 10 to 15 minutes walk to the beach. House was very clean, comfy bed, smart tv (with Netflix) and a lovely rainfall shower. House as all the appliances you need (except a washer), cutlery, plates, pans etc... and a nice little court yard. Dog friendly (dog bowl and free treats) and free parking. Lovely host Dawn, recommended place to stay.
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Katherine (10/5): Perfect stay in the centre of Hornsea - Absolutely wonderful house in the centre of Hornsea. Close to great pubs/cafes and short walk to the beach. The house itself was lovely - clean, cosy and had everything we needed after cycling the Transpennine Trail! Friendly host who answered questions quickly and provided all the info we needed. Would love to come back for a longer stay! Nothing!
- Stuart (10/5): beautiful place, incredibly comfortable and homely in a lovely quiet town on the east coast of Yorkshire. - really lovely place, central location, easy access to the beach, comfortable beds and living spaces. great communication. n/a
- Jane (9/5): Very comforab - The beds were so comfy, head hit pillow and gone. Everything we needed was in the kitchen and it really felt like home from home. It had a lovely outdoor area, for the sunnier days. When we wanted a little break from the wedding we'd attended it was lovely to be able to watch the telly on catch up as it had all the television channels you could ask for.

Everything was supplied to make our stay hassle free, from tea, coffee and milk to shampoo and shower wash. The host was also very friendly and answered am my questions in a timely manner. The house is also located very close to all amenities, just a short walk into the centre. I think the price was very reasonable considering you are getting a fully furnished 3 bedroom house!
